Hey belumada, you may also consider moving your kitchen to the root of your C drive. The kitchen plays nicer if it's something like C:\Kitchen instead of the current path. Just a suggestion, but mine works much better now that I did that.

Sorry, I have four questions 1st in my rom is not showing the wifi. I'm have the Samsung Omnia. I am without wifi. How do I fix this? 2nd As I leave my kinetic scrolling with roms in start menu glides smoothly without catching. 3rd How do I resize the icons (without editing program image) and font size of the icons? And 4º much discussed here already, without a just solution, my rom when you turn off the screen, back only when I do a soft reset. Anyone know how can I fix this? If getting me these questions would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

Now no more four questions :) there are only two: the wifi and shutting down the backlight that makes me have to do a soft reset.

Solution for kinectic scrolling that I was looking: in cpr StartMenu_GridScene at end of fourty line has a "PaginatedScrolling=TRUE". I deleted it and for me was this looking. And for resize icon in same file I have chanded of Width="45" Height="45" for 35 and now I'm happy. :D It only remains now the two questions above.

Where do I find the key to the choice of the third screen? This is the button options.

I have the zip/rar association reg setting in the app.reg file-never knew there was a problem, but without the reg keys, I guess there could be, lol. You could probably stick that reg file in with the newer versions as well to circumvent the problem (didn't know there were newer ones, don't really care).

Long story short, it works good. I used it earlier today without any issues. The sucker boots up real fast as a module, too.

Edit: yeah, I never noticed it, but if you go into settings you're kind of screwed! There isn't an 'ok' button in there. These will have to be set in the registry. I guess I usually leave all the other settings stock, and I don't know what the reg keys are.

The bigger keyboard because capacitive displays aren't accurate enough to hit the old style buttons.
The same thing with the UI change having the enlarged bottom with start button- its not necessarily the next version of Windows Mobile, but rather a solution to OEM's complaining that the OS won't work with capacitive displays.

Can someone please post the xip.bin for 21882? I tried making an XIP out of the included kernel but it does not work. I examined the included kernel files further and appears the modules are missing the imageinfo.txt files. People may get it to work with VK. But I do not use VK. Thanks in advance..

I know that EA means East Asia, and therefore I would tend to choose NonEA for my builds, since I'm building for English.

However, it seems some 0409 sources do not include NonEA, while they almost always have EA.

So, does it really make any difference?

Yup, same here. I think the position fix / Showcase Suite stuff as well as the new size of the taskbars affect the rotation calculations.

Update:
Fixed the problem after editing the StartMenu_GridScene_***x***.cpr file by changing existing line with the source instruction to this:
Source="ConfettiPlus::WallpaperBitmap"
Apparently the problem was with the image the cpr file was referring to.

Yes, if you're using VK, that's the way to do it. If you're using an older kitchen, it goes in the config_operator.txt in the operator package in your OEM directory.

Looks like my device freeze after installing the fix in 28004. I have deleted the ManilaLaunchFix string and added for example MSSTARTMENU.
But after Softreset the Device freeze.

i have fixed up a task mgr that works with the new builds :) it came from xperia x2 rom, i have modded it (with drkfng's help) to work when you tap the right corner of the screen but you cant see the icon ;) the microsoft dropdown menu still works as well as notification manager, most language muis are already in the cab....i cook it with the old position fix(the one without showcase) and it works pretty well. i have tested this on my rhodium(wvga), havent tried with other resolutions yet you guys will have to test it.

No, that's for file operations. Look in your dump folder (or \windows) for .txt files. It's probably config.txt. Edit that, and search for where to put it in the kitchen.

works in DPI_96 but icons are to big :( (resizing files in TaskManagerGraphics.dll gives nothing :( )... what about closing with X ?

in my rom it works everytime :confused: the same thing happened for drkfng who was using another rom, but he said it only disappeared when there were no open apps to display. it works great for me, but i do have one problem maybe someone can help me with....with the old position fix i am getting a notifications popup at boot :( the notification popup says "no new notifications", but you have to close it manually to get rid if it and its driving me crazy lol. if i disable the notification manager, then the microsoft taskbar dropdown box pops out at boot the same way. if anybody has any ideas let me know :)

Is anybody having some issues in build 28002 with the alarm occasionally not ringing? It's incredibly frustrating and if others have the same issue at least I know I'm not doing anything wrong.

The X2 Taskmanager in QVGA works well but a "lil" Big as you can see in the first pic attached.. just tap on the top right corner and tadaaaa there is!

On second pic you can see a pic when you are in an app opened tapping that area on red lil circle top right corner dont close the app... (still sucks)

Third one shows that the taskmanager can close very well the apps by the dropdown menu... soooooo its useless in 6.5.X :D (I guess there is none other app for closing apps atm but Showcase for new beta buils)

Well i put it on a 23511 sys, and did a package (deleting all the non 0C0A files), and opens in a same way like the old one, but doesn't open from the sys screen.

make sure there are actually files in those modules (S000, S001, etc). had a similar issue initially, extracted the files/folders again and it seemed to be fine.

Problem with the Browsing files. Use the ones that come with the build. Or at least make sure the build contains webview.dll either by itself in the SYS files or included in the Browsing packages.

This is not possible for your handset at present I believe due to no Hspl being created yet.

Also this thread is for the building(cooking) of windows mobile not for releasing roms, you will not find anything you can just install onto your phone.

Can someone give me a hint how to rotate with sensor sdk4 in the new builds (230xx/280xx). I use the same packages in COM2 Build and all is rotating fine.
I think the problem is the taskbar/working screen. Is there any solution to make rotating working (without 3 party app´s)

So I am having some memory issues with my X1 (using 28002). I have about 95mb free RAM at boot which drops to about 42 after some use. I am trying to determine if it is a recmod problem. This is my memory map. From what I understand this is good? Zero modules in slot 0. Does 47 MB free mean that once all modules are loaded into memory this is all that will be left? That does not sound good to me. Good X1 ROMs have ~130mb free at boot staying above 100 with use. Do you think this is a recmod issue or some other problem that I have?

I use a batch file copied from internet and modified a little.
I think it is how it works:
1. use BuildOS to put files, modules and registry in to a folder.
2. use wmreloc to relocate modules into virtual memory
3. use imgfsfromdump to creat imgfs.bin

Here in step 2. I found a file named wmreloc.txt with contents like this:

Module name: avctrl.dll (01F8F000 - 03D8A000)

What´s Recmod?

Very useful toot that you can find in every kitchen.
It is used for creating files from modules.
If you have mui modules (e.g. outres.dll.0409.mui (0409=english lang code) that looks as folder with content:imageinfo.bin, S000,...) you will have to convert them into files. Just drag&drop module on RecMod.exe, and it will create file in module folder. If you drop outres.dll.0409.mui module on RecMod.exe, it will create file outres.dll.0409.mui into module folder.

Try with putting this in some config.xml or other .xml from OEM:

They are DPI/Res dependent. Make sure you have the "Themes" pack in SYS, and then check if you've got the other theme folders under DPI_192 and/or DPI_96.

Take your tsk file from the kitchen, remove Hidden in properties of the file and copy it to CE:\Windows. If prompted to overwrite - say "yes". You will immediately see it in settings. And it's nothing to do with DPI dependence to see them in Today Settings list. If DPI of something else is wrong - you won't be able to apply the tsk, but you should see it in the list anyway.

Do I just leave this in the folder along with the S001 ... etc files when cooking, or do I have to do something else with this file? And do I have to delete the original module folder?

There is Recmod.cmd in the root of (most) kitchens, that calls recfolder.cmd, recfile.cmd, nueRecmod.cmd and RecMod.exe from Tools folder. Basically, this tools do the cleaning of modules folders after converting them into files: first they recmods module into file, then moves the file temporary, deletes module folder and moves file back on the place (where module was before recmodding).
So, yes, you should delete module if you manually recmod it .
Some old kitchens (for i900 Omnia), e.g. syakr tools, always reported errors if you didnt delete module after recmodding.

Uh, don't you have a native kernel? DO NOT RECMOD ANYTHING!!!!! That is pure insanity. The whole purpose of 6.5 native kernels is being able to use 3X as much virtual memory as with a 6.1 NK. Pity those who have to rec-mod, but do NOT copy them. You should be converting every .dll and .exe that you can to modules.

Hi all, Been having a strange problem with the last two or three builds. The battery percentage reading is very eratic, one user said it stuck at 1% for HOURS, another user says it jumps up/down when opening/closing apps, basically the reported battery level seems to be untrustworthy.
Bit of info: Used EVK, nothing changed inside. Phone is Eten x500.

I also use a touch pro with EnergyROM installed and my battery level on this is a bit strange also - if i reset the phone i notice it decreases between 5% - 8%, immediately after reset compared with just before reset? I have drained the touch pro battery twice and recharged whilst switched off as this is supposed to recalibrate the battery but same afterwards.
As you can see, two different phones, one has My own ROM, one has EnergyROM - both have battery level issues, the common factor is the wm6.5 build(s)..... Anyone know is this a known issue in the newer builds - if so any solution or can anyone offer any tips/advice?

Ladies and gentlemen, I've ran into an issue I need some help with. See the attached pics. If I press the "Phone" softkey at the bottom of the screen, the dialer comes up normal, pic2. If I press the dialer hardware key, it's jacked up and starts displaying numbers by itself as if I'm dialing, pic1. Any ideas guys? I've swapped the keypad.dll, but had no success. I'm open to ideas or trying the keypad.dll again if you have a different version. I'm using the version in the VK by Da_G and my device is an HTC/AT&T Fuze.

Note: This is also displayed in Kisja's Sense 2.5 forum for 2 distinct mindsets

Note #2: I've tried the Qilin Dialer, Tachi Dialer, and Stock with the same results

That's a separate setting. It's the build of the whole ROM itself, not the windows mobile build. I forget what sets it. It's OEM specific, either in the OEM files or in the OEM side of the ROM files.

I have searched the Windows Mobile development forums of the www but no luck... not even here at xda-developers.

I would like to tweak the Top Row of the Today Screen to make it look like the rest of the GUI, with 3D symbols (battery, radio, audio et c) without installing Manila. I found a registry tweak to do that with the equivalent Bottom Row in WM5.

see if anyone else has noticed this issue and knows the cause, i have been using ervius visual kitchen for a long time now and never seen this, some registry settings set by a package of mine is getting overwritten after first boot. These settings, for instance,
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P references]
"Shuffle"=dword:00000000

this registry setting is set with the very last package in my kitchen so no later packages could be changing it. is there something that is processed after user packages that could be changing this? say maybe the mxip provisional xmls? i am thinking it may be something to do with manila as until i got the touch pro2 i did not include it in my builds. i am currently building a rom without manila and seeing if the values still get overwritten to confirm.

just for a bit more info, most of the settings seem to be something that manila is using or reading such as the backlight settings or say the ring type being set to "ring" instead of "ring and vibrate" i know my reg entries are fine as i can take the app.reg from my package and import it using a reg editor and the options are then set correctly. a work around that i have been using is to place a mortscript into startup that imports the settings after first boot which works, but i am finding more and more things that this issue effects and would rather not have to use this workaround. any thoughts? anyone?

Most likly from a provxml file(these are applied after flash). Either search existing provxml files, or make your own to be applied after flash(using XML and config.txt, .cab and config.txt, or another method)

I've been having this trouble for quite a while. Personally, I gave up. Since finding Flip_IT (which uses the SensorSDK 4, with an additional DLL), I've just been using that, and rotation works great :D.

I'm using the SensorService.dll fards (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=265575) attached here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4444357#post4444357). Per this note:are you using the correct sensor driver with the latest sdk ?
I use the one from the first working topaz beta that works with the HD.. all I do is drop the dll into the new sdk pkg and it works fine.
I've just been using the SensorService.dll from the above post, along with whatever the newest SensorSDK 4 version is, and rotation has been working fine (with Flip_IT; native rotation in 6.5.x builds is still an issue for me without it)

I found zensor2 to do it too, but wondering if there was any other fix. Will use flip it and see what that can do.

i used to use flip_it back in my manila days, it was the only thing around that would automatically rotate manila!

i've since given up since i don't use it anymore, lol. how is the combination of SDK4 & flip it working for you..? i remember the phone would get pretty lethargic at times, due to what seemed to be rotation.

Weird, I don't have any problem with autorotate. I use HTCSensorService.dll from Topaz or you can get it from GenY Manila 2.1 package. I think the one Captain posted would be the same version as the one I'm using but I can confirm that mine is the same version as the one found in the GenY Manila 2.1 package. The use any HTCSensorSDK.dll (I'm using Leo's).

Anyway, the only app that I can't get it to work is HTC Calculator.

Its actually just an Action Screen, which makes it impossible to type using Hardware keyboard(it lauches EVERY time phone goes to landscape and not only when manila is enabled :( ) But there is an ongoing port of M2.5 to landscape in the Raphael forum ;)

The vga version has the usual superstars of manila porting on board - ammarullz, kisja, and of course Rotastrain. I'm sure the more people help with bug reports (posting images of the effects of the .cab), porting, and other types of support, the sooner we can have a killer landscape version of Sense 2.5 to cook in our ROMs.
