i have fixed up a task mgr that works with the new builds :) it came from xperia x2 rom, i have modded it (with drkfng's help) to work when you tap the right corner of the screen but you cant see the icon ;) the microsoft dropdown menu still works as well as notification manager, most language muis are already in the cab....i cook it with the old position fix(the one without showcase) and it works pretty well. i have tested this on my rhodium(wvga), havent tried with other resolutions yet you guys will have to test it.
excuse, about the "Task Manager from x2" ,

where can find for QVGA?

thanjs^^

Can you post a link to the raysource(just the .dio, I can get the DPI and Lang later when it's uploaded)?

Babelfish tells me - "Appendix: You are at the user group is unable to download or the examination appendix", even though I am logged in.

if you view the page in it's native form (without a translator) you should be able to access the attachments fine. you don't need a translator since it's a number.

once the download completes i'll see if i can get a mirror up

Hi Everybody,

Here is the new build in COM 8 branch, i.e., 28006 in visual kitchen format. But note that the DPI and Lang packages are taken from 28005, as currently moneybape has not posted appropriate lang and DPI files for this build.

As soon as he post's them, I will update the link. Till then you can use the below files.

28006 - Download (http://www.mediafire.com/file/uwzqgufmwmh/KAT-VK-28006.rar) [ COM 8 - DPI96-Res 320*240-Lang 0409 ]

(babelfish translation), so we might not get a 28006 dpi/lang.

I have this problem sporadically with ALL of my PCs: XP SP3 (32-bit), Vista (64-bit) , & 7 (32-bit). The packages seem to show up in the order they were copied over to the folder, rather than alphabetically. This usually happens when I'm adding folders to an existing kitchen, rather than starting with a fresh new one. If someone actually has a solution to this issue, that'd be great :)

I tried deleting the packages.txt and made no difference. I have copied the folders before without problem. Oh well I will try to dump the Leo 1.48 again and open it the copy the packages and see if that will help.

I'm having an issue with my 28002 builds where certain applications will not open; they throw a "not signed" error.

I figured out that I'm missing a package or two that should correct the issue (Resource Proxy), but when I cooked the ROMs again with that package, or without it using 28004, I can't even get the customization to launch... "AutoVer.exe cannot be opened..."

I had the SAME exact issues. I went crazy pulling my hair out. For me it was specific to HTC apps like QuickGPS, HTC Calculator, FM Radio, Customization, etc.... The problem was somewhere in my EXT folders.

The Solution for me was to replace all of my EXT packages with new from a dumped rom. I tried new OEMXipKernel and newer OEM drivers. Once I updated all my packages it all started working.

You have a Rhodium/Tilt2 now right? I dumped the Leo rom and used all the EXT packages except the camera with great luck.

I'm not sure but, I think Da_G said somewhere he forgot to put NetCF in 28002 package so, check if Net Framework is there or NOT?

EDIT : here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4982438&postcount=8189) where Da_G said he forgot to put NetCF

You can download NetCF only from RapidShare (http://rapidshare.com/files/315110567/NetCF.rar.html) or 2shared (http://www.2shared.com/file/9621562/14caa9ad/NetCF.html)

If you click the header, it should go back to the correct order.

Try this little trick:
Open the folder in explorer (My Computer).
View Details, click on name to sort, click again if sort is reversed.
Now Hold Control Key and click the close X at the top.

This sets the default explorer sort order. I don't know if it will solve your problem, but it does fix the "file open" dialog boxes, system wide.

You posted links to NetCF 3.5. And I know it was present for example in wm6.5 21882 build (20 november 2009), but its version was NetCF 2.0.
Does this mean microsoft finally uses NetCF 3.5 in 2800* branch?
Or it just a present from you?.. =)

I don't know what program does Da-G use for making this Rollup, but definitely Rollup stuff does not work for non-nk6.5 devices. It's the second rollup from him which causes wake-up problems.
You should use http://hotfile.com/dl/19264882/2e95083/WM653-28008-DPI-192-RESH-480-RESV-640-LANG-0409-DUMP.rar.html (second link from the first post) and take only dpi from rollup - than everything works fine.

Good to know that (I mean that nk6.5 devices are also having some problems). Wake-up issue definitely will be solved if you use all stuff from DUMP and only DPI (if needed) from Rollup. I have to use rollup dpi because I have 96, not 192 :)
And BTW - I never meet any problems if I use flash.dio from our Chinese colleagues.

Does anyone know if ReplStoreCacheSize should be set in the boot.rgu (where it's set to 0) or if it should be set in an app.reg file instead? Does it need to be 0 in early boot for some reason, then get set to a larger value later on during the boot process?

First of all: Thanks Da_G!

But now my problem:rolleyes:

I flashed build 28008 on my Rhodium. It's got a G-Sensor that can be used with Opera for example. But it has stopped working in the Mail application, I've also seen this in 23506. In every other application, that "supports" G-Sensor, it works fine.
The Reg-Settings are correct(->the ones in the HKCU tree).
Can anyone confirm this or solve this;)?

Thanks.

Greetings,
Diewi

I don't know what program does Da-G use for making this Rollup, but definitely Rollup stuff does not work for non-nk6.5 devices. It's the second rollup from him which causes wake-up problems.
You should use http://hotfile.com/dl/19264882/2e95083/WM653-28008-DPI-192-RESH-480-RESV-640-LANG-0409-DUMP.rar.html (second link from the first post) and take only dpi from rollup - than everything works fine.

Da_G, buddy, can you define the name or upload your program for firmware flash dismantling? Just wanna have a look....

In roll up, even XIP files are included, which gets copied into shared/common folder. I guess that is what is causing the issue.

And also metadata is not there in the rollup update. look into previous post's some body has posted only metadate package.

Edited : I just successfully build a rom using only the roll up package provided by Da_G. Infact he is the only guy who gives you entire wm OS packages without missing anything.

3 Cheers to Da_G.

@Anyone having the problem waking up from sleep w/rollup:

If you can identify the particular package causing this issue, i'll fix it so it won't be a problem in the future. Unfortunately I haven't been able to duplicate this issue on my end to resolve it myself.

@TAEL:

Yeah, XDA-Devs went down for maintenance as I was editing the first post, so I got all the files uploaded, just could not link them :) About to do it now.

@AndrewSh:

It is a program I developed in conjunction with Ervius (who did most of the work) - it's not intended for public distribution, sorry. But I will certainly attempt to fix the problem if it can be more clearly identified, see above :)

@nokser:

Sure, i'll see about releasing that soon.

How can XIP modules cause any problem? Just delete them and that's it. Metadata.... hmmm... as for me - I take my own metadata from build to build. The only important part of metadata is packages.sif and .sof. It's a list of dsm processed while cooking the rom. But if some packages are not listed in packages.sif or .sof - they will be just processed after the listed ones.
So - sorry - you're wrong. The problem is in dump tool of Da-G and I really want to figure it out...

Sorrowfully it's not the one particular package - I suppose it's kinda problem with reloc sections of the modules. But I am not sure. The memory is definitely better optimized after your tool but most of the devices have wake-up issue.
If the tool is not for public use - I do not insist on distributing it - but then I would hardly be able to tell you what exactly is going wrong with the Rollup you provided.... Maybe you will discuss that with Ervius and you will give me that program privately for the check only. If not - does not matter - I anyway use different tool for my dumps :)

the VK takes OEMXIPKernel (ROM > Device > Build#) from your device, & combines it w/MSXIPKernel (ROM > Shared > Build#) from the new build to build/port your new XIP on the fly during the build process.

Not that I'm sure of this, but I guess you have an error in your 'initflashfiles.dat' for Opera. This would cause Opera not to find the main menu files and thus not load past the loading screen. Easiest way to check this is to find a new CAB (for example for Opera 10 Beta) and export it to EXT. This would create app.dat as add-on for initflashfiles.dat, which is then imported at build-time by most kitchens, or you can just copy those values over your own.

Didn't use them, used the oemxip that I always use in the ervius kitchen, and I wish this piece of crap was VGA, but it is QVGA. Every Da_G release since 23075 or so has done this on my phone, it always has more free memory than any other release but won't wake up properly. I even tried joojoobee's ppckitchen release of 23088 and it did the same. I don't think there's any issue in the way you do the files, I have used your files before just fine.

I don't know what program does Da-G use for making this Rollup, but definitely Rollup stuff does not work for non-nk6.5 devices. It's the second rollup from him which causes wake-up problems.

It probably wasn't replacing the OEMXIPKernel, but it may have been making the (booting) xip.bin too large to hold everything.

I have an i910 (no 6.5 nk), and roll up works fine (no wake up issue). I did use the MSXIPKernel from the dump though.

Same on i900 - no wake up issue and all works fine with sys & xip from rollup-all-packages.

Is there any way possible to ever be able to use the 6.5 nk on the Omnia SCH-i910?

Can it be ported from Omnia II?

No, the NK is device specific. The only way to port it would be to hi-jack the samsung WinMo dev servers and steal the source code.

e-Natives Position Fix for new WM6.5x BUILDS

It was new enhanced previous ManilaPositionFix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4410250&postcount=1305). Now you can add Window Class to force resized into new WM6.5.x Work Area ( Manually on Registry ;) ).

http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=225592&stc=1&d=1252428731 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=225593&stc=1&d=1252428731

* It Will fix Any Manila TF3D (2, 2.1, 2.5)
* It will fix Resco Explorer
* Changing tab in Manila now works :D
* You can enable ManilaLaunchFix to prevent "Unable to Launch TF3D" on start up :D by changing "ManilaLaunchFix" reg value into "1"

You can customize Registry in this key:
HKCU\SOFTWARE\e-Natives Technology\WM65xFix

Default Registry on CAB:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\WM65xFix]
"ManilaLaunchFix"=dword:00000000
"WindowClasses"="Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS"

UNSUPPORTED WINDOWS CLASS (Know Bug)
* Don't Include Garmin Window into WindowClasses, It's not supported yet.
* Only supported for 192dpi ( Maybe will add support for 96dpi in next update )
* Please delete previous ManilaPositionFix

If you use/redistribution this file, please give me some credit :D at least point the link into this post ( you already know why I am do this :D )

is there one for QVGA 96 now please?
i just need the position fix withOUT the task manager stuff

i can confirm the "not wake up from sleep" issues, it happened for me using the 28002 rollup pkg. im sure its not the way i cooked the rom, because it happened with my kaiser stock-like rom that i NEVER change the oem or ext, only the sys and xip and have never had these issues before.

I don't know what program does Da-G use for making this Rollup, but definitely Rollup stuff does not work for non-nk6.5 devices. It's the second rollup from him which causes wake-up problems.
Hi TPC & AndrewSh. No ideas as well on why the issue appears on some devices but, just to give additional insight:

My Elfin (P3452) is also a non-native WM6.5 kernel at 96DPI and built Da_G's 28002 from the rollup using EVK and alternatively a modified bepe's PRB kitchen without experiencing the wake up issue. Both kitchens using the same OEM, EXT packages as well as SYS & XIP.

Will see if I'll still be lucky not to experience the wake up or alarm issue with the latest 28008.

I had this sleep-death issue on my Elf (with non-6.5 kernel) when I was using the files from the rollup.

However, if you use Da_G's VGA+XIP package, it will work. Remove the *_DPI_192_* folders if you don't have VGA. Then, from the rollup, use ONLY the specific *DPI_* files that are meant for your device.

I have a Topaz (Diamond 2; AT&T Pure) and I don't experience any wake up issues.

I started out with my WVGA 28004 build, downloaded the VGA DPI 28008, copied everything over into my 28004 kitchen except the 480x640 DPI folder. I also use a custom Lockscreen package carried over from an older build.

Last time we had wakeup issues it was from the Lockscreen SYS/Common packages. 28008 actually runs pretty good in my ROMs.

One of our guys from Russian forum managed to put Topaz in coma also (it was done on purpose in order to figure out the problem because normally Topaz does not have wake-up issue)
So - he dropped only two modules into slot0 and Topaz did not wake up (rollup archive). With no modules in slot0 - no problems. With the DUMP modules - no problem with slot0. It means the modules in DUMP are relocked in a proper way. Conclusion: Rollup stuff should be assembled without slot0. Da_G's dumper simply ignores it. So Da_G, buddy, maybe you can think about that.

Farmer ted, his post was far more informational than your post.

(If I remember correctly) Da_G was trying to figure out why people were having problems with 1 set of SYS's, but there were no issue with the second set. WM6.5.3 may be starting to get a little more finiky about it's slot 0 use. There may be some optimizations that take use of the free space, so slot 0 being free may no longer just be a "good idea", but something that almost must be done.

On the other hand, maybe the object on slot 0 was causing the problems (not be allocated correctly), and overwriting the memory of other programs.

I will give this a try over the next few days to see if having stuff in slot 0 (even a very small amount), will cause problems.

Lol, I'm not the one telling Da_G "Buddy, maybe you should think about that." That was you, and it's quite rude. How about starting a separate thread for issues related to porting 6.5 to 6.1 kernels? Really, these issues are not Da_G's concern (or anyone else's who has a 6.5 kernel).

Captain_Throwback

Actually, I was having the freezing issue on my Raph, but it turned out to be a file missing from my OEMXIPKernel. I used Beyond Compare to check the difference between the boot.rgu file of the newer 6.5 kernel & the older one, and added the one file included in the rgu that was referenced in the old rgu, but not included in the newer kernel or rgu. Adding the file and the corresponding reg entries to the newer kernel seemed to do the trick; no more freezing :).

My post is just the continuation of our (mine and Da_G's) yesterday's private talk. What is "quite rude" here? OK, English is not my native but ...rude?... Your "quit whining" - that was really rude! Some people with nk 6.5 also DO have this problem. And as far as it has no connection "to porting 6.5 to 6.1 kernels" and it can be useful to those who understand the matter - my message appeared in public. I wanna remind - you are not the only person who is reading here and the only one at the moment who did not get the sense of my post.... So - sorry for you and let's finish that - I am not going to explain anything to you.

;) it's not there the problem... in all official rom dumps that dll is absent and for sure htc will not include it for a reason... relfsd.dll is not the culprit, i can assure you.
Sporadically some of my users had that issue, and they had also when that dll was inside the OEMXIP.
so the problem is elsewhere...

I'm sure it doesn't have to be there (since Da_G excluded it), but I'm thinking there shouldn't be any boot.rgu entries calling it, in that case. All I know is that since adding it, I haven't had any freezing issues. I could probably also remove it, and delete the corresponding rgu entries, and that would probably also have resolved the problem. That's the only thing I changed, so troubleshooting tells me that was the problem. But I have been wrong before . . .

That would have bee nice if there was an update. The muttim86 one happens to be the one I'm using. I just didn't know. It seems to be working fine for me although since it has been so long I may have made changes without realizing it. It seems that my OEMXipKernel folder includes wince.nls (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=252905&stc=1&d=1259878380) which isn't in muttim86's archive. Possibly. It actually doesn't matter because both Da_G's newer kernel & muttim86's were the same (someone confirmed it in the thread), and I don't have the problem anymore, since adding that one file back in :).

The differences I see are: Da_G's newest 6.5 kernel: does not include relfsd.dll or DSM (however boot.rgu does include some reg entries referring to relfsd.dll); muttim86's kernel: does not include wince.nls, and boot.rgu includes additional entries relating to netui.dll.

simply look inside OEMXIP from a official rom and you'll understand.
it's and old dll in boot.rgu is called but it has no effect cause is used in developing stuffs.
But as i wrote before if for now works... good for you ;)

i would like just to find the real problem where is, but just 3 or 4 on 4000 users of my roms had that so... not a big problem.

Could one of you guys post a zip of the OEMXipKernel you're looking at (or a link to the Da_g/muttim86 current version)? I suddenly have a feeling I'm a version behind, but there have been too many oddball versions posted for search to be real helpful. The most recent one from Muttim86 I could find has no references to netui.dll in the boot.rgu, so I don't think it's the one you've got.

Well it seems that the rollup pkg is not the one with troubles at common pkgs in shared

Cause i use the common from the dumped VGA... and just add the dpi from rollup and guess what? I Sometimes i have the issue...

it wont wake up sometimes.. but i need to discard other options i guess they are causing troubles Im on Native 6.5 Kernel HTC Hermes.

things to consider...

1.- I use Baseappsmodules, MediaOsModules and Osmodules... Instead "xxxxFiles"
2.- I didnt flashed first a stock rom
3.- I had an Old Power oem app

Lets see what happend tonight if I flahsed first the stock rom for my hermes... sometimes that causes many issues.

Oh BTW... this seems to be annoying when trying to say what does somebody says... so

farmer - i know you are smart... keep cool bud if the post isnt interesant for you leave it as is

Andrew - maybe Da_G has a new Idea on this behaivour cause... is not new i have this issue manytimes in many other com's

No. No Instabilities at all. I'm using more recent Leo packages. The only thing I can't use is the USB and the camera because the Leo only has 3MP where the Topaz has 5MP.

The google maps package I made... which I reuse. I don't use from ROM dumps. No SMS lockups either.

Hi all!

I've noticed some weird Things with the 28008 german (0407) Build:

1.) The Fontsize of the Softkey-Buttons is way bigger than normal.
2.) Missing "Input"-Item on Start Menu / Settings / Personal.

After i flashed it first time and noticed the 2 Things i downloaded all Files again and rebuild everything... Well, i cant be 100% sure that i've made everything correctly but i did this before with other builds and never had those "Problems".

It probably wasn't replacing the OEMXIPKernel, but it may have been making the (booting) xip.bin too large to hold everything. One more question. In my kitchen \ROM\Kovsky\ along with the folders for each ROM build there are os.nb.payload, rom.hdr.bin, and xip.bin. Should these be removed? Thanks.

I use 28008 german for Blue Angel and is all correct (96dpi 240x320) but i use rollup package the singel downloads work not with the Blue Angel

Working on elfin 28008 0C0A files. The alarm works perfect if you use the lockscreen, but doesn't work without the lockscreen. Seems the alarm doesn't start. When you selecct the alarm and try the alert, work's well.

Some idea?

It is recourrent in every build.
Thanks in advance for your help.~

relfsd is "release filesystem", aka /release on the device when kitl is connected

it is safe to remove as long as you remove its entries from boot.rgu properly. no idea what netui is for, but it is not anywhere in any stock raphael boot.rgu i remember seeing..

here is my boot.rgu with relfsd properly removed, its cdma but you can still diff it against gsm boot.rgu and see what to do.

No. No Instabilities at all. I'm using more recent Leo packages. The only thing I can't use is the USB and the camera because the Leo only has 3MP where the Topaz has 5MP.

The google maps package I made... which I reuse. I don't use from ROM dumps. No SMS lockups either.

Does anyone know how to add the comm manager to the enative showcase position fix?

You have to add the string "COMMMANAGER" (without the quotes) to the position fix registry entry.
And as I'm using Tachi_PhoneDialer_VGA on my Diamond1 these come in handy too: "Dialog", "MSClog" and "MSContactsUI".

cheers :)

For me it's the other way around. 280XX builds are better on battery. Comparable.. if not the same.. as 218XX builds :)

Try to use different versions of the following applications:

DShow
(HTC) Notification Manager
(HTC) Scroll 2.0

Many applications are started whenever you load the device first time, but these tend to cause failures if not initialized properly. Some files in these applications can not be turned into modules for every device, you need to check that yourself. Easiest way to check this is to leave them out completely! And start changing to new applications slowly...

i also used rollup package.

changing the name of a kitchen folder isnt going to change the os number in our rom  i havent cooked 28008 yet so im not sure if the xip is supposed to be 28006 or maybe you just used the wrong xip. either way your problem is that your msxipkernel is from build 28006, you can either find 28008 xip(if its available not sure), change the dsm, or just live with it :)

Hi all,
I have been having problems sending emails from my Diamond running WM 6.5.3 build 28002 and higher. When I create a new email I don't get a send button but a reply button and when I hit the reply button it just sends the email to me and not to the person I was trying to send it to. Is it caused by some EXT or is it a bug in these new builds?

Thanks

You're leaving out one of the key EXT packages, maybe concurrence manager or something like that. Here are the quick gps dependencies. Just figure out which dll you're missing, then include the package. It will probably fix the radio, too.
QuickGPS.exe
- verinfou2.dll Ref: 1
- quickgps.exe.0409.mui Ref: 1
- wininet.dll.0409.mui Ref: 1
- wininet.dll Ref: 1
- shutil.dll Ref: 1
- commctrl.dll.0409.mui Ref: 3
- commctrl.dll Ref: 3
- aygshell.dll Ref: 5
- ossvcs.dll Ref: 2
- cellcore.dll Ref: 1
- oleaut32.dll Ref: 3
- shlwapi.dll.0409.mui Ref: 2
- shlwapi.dll Ref: 2
- coredll.dll.0409.mui Ref: 12
- ole32.dll Ref: 7
- coredll.dll Ref: 12

Edit: Looking at your fm radio dependencies, I bet you're missing aygshell.dll.

I either used dumpmem.exe or devhealth.exe (I posted a package for both in the Raphael package repository in the Raph rom forum). You can also see the dependencies with with dotfred's task manager, but it won't log them for you. Of course, this only works when you have a fully working process. You can do a dependecy scan on your PC with PE Explorer ahead of time.

Well, I don't use manila, so, my advice is to not use manila, lol.

The audio...dll dependencies won't show up with devhealth or dumpmem. You'll need to scan it with PE Explorer or a similar desktop app.

my wakeup issue: :(

i'm so confused  ... it's only just a test, no reason, just a test :) ...

hermes 6.5 native kernel .... same kitchen ... same EXT/OEM ... I tested different build:

- 23088 from monkeybape works ok
- 28002 from da_g wakeup issue
- 28005 from monkeybape works ok
- 28008 from da_g wakeup issue
- 28009 works ok (dpi/lang from 28008 da_g and common dump from flash.dio)

ehhhhhmmmmmm .... i don't understand why?

other (hermes) people with this results?
