There's an alarm provxml. Just copy it out of windows or your dump folder, delete everything in it, and then keep the empty provxml in an EXT so it will over-write the one in any sys folder.

Just want to say, that this is an excellent tip. I do this kind of stuff all the time so that I don't have to change all the different files on each different build. Just have another file with the same name to overwite the original file. Excellent Tip!!!!

I'm the one u make a pack with WVGA stuff for 21883, that's strange cause I've used that pack to cook, with Manila Sense 2.1 - 0409 (the PDA Viet logo is there), and with Manila 2.5 - 0816 (the logo vanished), my question where that thing is ? I'm coying Lang files from previous builds, as they are equal

I've got an issue with lockscreen : when i have an incoming call, it's impossible to slide for answer (but i can answer to the call with the button). Same thing happen with the alarm.
I use modified LS_LockScene_xxx.cpr so I can unlock the mobile but if I don't include the two lockscene cpr files, it's impossible to unlock the mobile.
Maybe it's a problem with one on my package ?
I cook on diamond with build 28008.
I include to this the build_log.txt and I added to my initflashfiles the following lines :

I've noticed some weird Things with the 28008 german (0407) Build:

1.) The Fontsize of the Softkey-Buttons is way bigger than normal.
2.) Missing "Input"-Item on Start Menu / Settings / Personal.

After i flashed it first time and noticed the 2 Things i downloaded all Files again and rebuild everything... Well, i cant be 100% sure that i've made everything correctly but i did this before with other builds and never had those "Problems".

what do you need OEMXIPKernel for..? that is specific to your device, in order to port you only want MSXIPKernel from the new build.

The oemxipkernel is device-dependent. You don't want to use a random one from an unknown device. Just copy your old one into a new folder with the new build number.

I've got an issue with lockscreen : when i have an incoming call, it's impossible to slide for answer (but i can answer to the call with the button). Same thing happen with the alarm.
I use modified LS_LockScene_xxx.cpr so I can unlock the mobile but if I don't include the two lockscene cpr files, it's impossible to unlock the mobile.
Maybe it's a problem with one on my package ?
I cook on diamond with build 28008.
I include to this the build_log.txt and I added to my initflashfiles the following lines :

just an idea ... maybe you have to check your phone canvas because this is connect to lockscreen for incoming call ...
But if you don’t have a phone canvas that “overcomes” when incoming call you need/should have six * .cpr files .... or 12 *.cpr files if your phone support also landscape mode .... every cpr files is connected to an event

I have all files required for my resolution. I didn't found lscustapp.exe so I don't need to change the path (but when I change the path, the problem is still here). Maybe it's one of my EXT package who cause this issue. What is your file attributes for cpr files ?
I use the original files posted by da_g in this thread and the MS dialer without sense or tf3d if it can help you.

If you mean the magnifier, disabling it in sys fixed it for me

Yeah its htc volume control thats causing it. Cosmetically it can be fixed with a edit of the dll im sure. However not sure on the functionality. I dont use volume control so it has never caused me problems.

Put the FLASH.DIO into bin folder.

Run Test.bat

You will find the dumped SYS and XIP folders.

Hi all, I got a problem and I'm scratching my head since yesterday evening but I have no clue :(

Yesterday, I cooked several 21882 and 21883 ROMs.
Everything went OK and the ROMs were running nicely.

On the evening, I downloaded the new 21884 SYS/XIP and built a new 21884 ROM using exactly the same packages I used before.

Once flashed on my phone, I got a white screen in place of the "Tap on the screen..." one (a few seconds after the "Preparing your device for first use..." screen)

So I reflashed with a backup ROM (running well all the day) and bam : white screen also !
Then I flashed a stock ROM : OK
Then I flashed 2 different ROM backups : white screen

I'm sure these backup worked well as I already used them several times in the past.

What going on ?

You can compare, xip.bin which has taken using RomMaster and osnbtool. Open both with WinHex, and go to the end of the file xip.bin taken using osnbtool. You'll know what I mean padding FF's. But it doesn't matter, Only to reduce the space.

I am really sorry to ask such a noob question but I'm not an expert as you guys are.. most builds provided in this thread have no XIP.bin file (and I do not mean the MSXIPKernel folder).. the question , as you know , is it still possible to cook a ROM without that file ?...

Easy to do :D

Extract this file in any location of your HDD.

Put the FLASH.DIO into bin folder.

Run Test.bat

You will find the dumped SYS and XIP folders.

I am using Erviuskitchen kitchen and when I tried to cook using this 21884 release.

I got two errors:
#1 - SYS\21884\dpi_192_resh_480_res_800\COMMON folder not found
#2 - SYS\.............................................. \0409 folder not found

I checked with 21854(working rom), and they are exactly the same files.
So why do I get this errors? Do you have any ideas?

Hi all, I got a problem and I'm scratching my head since yesterday evening but I have no clue :(

Yesterday, I cooked several 21882 and 21883 ROMs.
Everything went OK and the ROMs were running nicely.

On the evening, I downloaded the new 21884 SYS/XIP and built a new 21884 ROM using exactly the same packages I used before.

Once flashed on my phone, I got a white screen in place of the "Tap on the screen..." one (a few seconds after the "Preparing your device for first use..." screen)

So I reflashed with a backup ROM (running well all the day) and bam : white screen also !
Then I flashed a stock ROM : OK
Then I flashed 2 different ROM backups : white screen

I'm sure these backup worked well as I already used them several times in the past.

What going on ?

I have had this in the past and found it to be something in SYS, maybe a module that needs to be recmod etc. Also if there is a corrupt module in a EXT package. Like before in Notification Enhancement it had a bad module and recmod the modules to file fixed the problem. You will have to try and find the bad ones.

I have all files required for my resolution. I didn't found lscustapp.exe so I don't need to change the path (but when I change the path, the problem is still here). Maybe it's one of my EXT package who cause this issue. What is your file attributes for cpr files ?
I use the original files posted by da_g in this thread and the MS dialer without sense or tf3d if it can help you.

The file attributes are A or SA ... is so difficult try to guess where is the trouble! :)

I use usbtopc popup from MEGA and it doesn't work if I install Showcase 1.1.0.
usbtopc popup works fine without Showcase.
I use build 21884. This issue killed 2 hours of my last night =)

I just edit the initflashfiles.dat (which hardly changes). I just do a "replace" in notepad for "\windows\startmenu\programs" to "\windows\startmenu\programs\Programs\". Replace 1 at a time or you'll end up with EVERYTHING in your Programs folder (games, settings, etc).

I use the Programs folder for Default apps and such. I then create an "Apps" folder for things like Messenger, Bing, MarketPlace, Google Maps, Facebook, MySpace, Netflix, etc.

Then before I cook, I load the Provxml editor and search their contents for "%CE11%" which is the MS shortcut for the Start Menu. It only brings up a few... which you can edit like "%CE11%\Apps". Then save the provxml file to a folder on your desktop. You can move these EDITED files to a CUSTOM folder in your EXT directory so they over write and load last.

Now you never have to worry about customizing the Start menu again. No more loading stupid Mortscripts at first boot or anything. Once you save the files they are there for good. As long as you put your provxml files in the EXT directory, you can freely load any SYS you want... since the EXT folder gets loaded last.

That's the easiest and best way to do it, as long as you know your way around a Text Editor.

1. If you have a problem with ervius kitchen, you should post in the ervius kitchen thread (or search through it.)
2. No, it's not normal. Some ROMs cannot be dumped. Are you trying to dump a stock RUU or are you trying to dump a cooked ROM? (which has probably been protected.)
