Is anybody having any problems with Arcosoft. I'm running 28014 and for some reason, arcosoft texting used to be bad, with these version it freezes up CONSTANTLY....not sure what the issue is, not sure if theres a fix for it either. Any suggesstions?

You can't just use the link he copied in the message - rayfile generates new temporary links each time.

1) go to the file's download page, click on 'English' in the upper right menu (I'm guessing your English is better than your Chinese - I know mine is!)

2) click 'to download page' in middle right menu area

3) if Rayfile generates a temporary download hex link because the 'file is too large' right click on the 'rayfile' button in the middle right menu area and 'copy url' If the file is small enough then you can just download straight away.

Guys anyone else having issues with data connection on 28009, some applications connect and other don't, my apn settings are correct i use ether acer connection setup or the htc network setup to make sure i have the correct apn always, regarding the issue...i can browse the internet using opera or IE,weather geolocation connects perfectly, stock quotes also connect properly to yahoo finance, but twitter doesn't want to connect it acts as if there was no data connection enable, when in fact there is, same happens when syncing emails, email don't want to get sync even tho there's a data connection going, anyways if anyone has any suggestion or idea that can help it will be greatly appreciated...also im using old style kitchen, with leo 1.43 packages and some 1.48 packages.

edit: forgot to mention that internet sharing is also not able to complete the data connection, same with htc wifi router.
edit 2: removing htc connection setup module as is conflicting with the acer connection wizard module, i think this might fix my data connection problem.

If you go to HTC homepage (go to support page you can download the updated version for the HTC Touch Diamond 2. That will give you WM 6.5 update for free :D

Or do you want a cooked rom? Then read "how to" in HTC Touch Diamond 2 forum on this site. I think you have to do a Hard Spl first so you can flash your phone with a cooked Rom from this site.

Yes they are, an VK msxipkernel, and an msxipkernel are different.. A VK msxipkernel has only the files required to build an xip (out.bin) for Visual Kitchen (VK). A full msxipkernel has Imageinfo.txts in every module, and dll and exe txts which. All of which map the modules.

A full msxipkernel is required for users that DO NOT use VK (Visual Kitchen) so in that case, I will say it again. I have tried everything using the VK msxipkernel to churn out a full xip.bin (learn what that is) besides the Russian File that AndrewSH provided and hate to tell you not everyone can read Russian (yes I know he translated the readmes to english).. But that also means if it contains readmes that its not a fully automated process. Also its means if it hasnt been translated or linked commonly in this thread that its not a commonly used workaround to create an xip.bin from a VK msxipkernel.

I am also a seasoned Chef but I do not use VK. Maybe I should start using that I know but I am not the only user who uses other kitchens. I am not the only user that asks for xip.bins and flash.dios to get the xip.bins. I am not the only user that needs the full xip.bin to create a functioning injectable XIP.

Learn how to read and understand. Not just stick up for people who you know. I will always fire back. All day and night long. I can keep going like the energizer bunny. I do not speak unless I am right. You will get that eventually. And if I am wrong I admit it, but in this case I am not.

After reading all that and especially the last paragraph, all I could muster up was a "Wow!". I'm gonna take the high road here and drop this...

The Start Menu isn't in ShellRes... it's a graphic file located within:

\SYS\XXXXX\DPI_192\COMMON\Base_DPI_192\
classicblue_bubble_flag.png
classicblue_bubble_flag_disabled.png

You can change it the same way you can change the button graphics and the likes.

Thanks to the tips of the forum which I follow more than one year now we drove deeper we can get our own files from x-beta flash them remove bomb, put packages and so on.

Now my goal is to make the rom as fast as it can be.
I use OMNIA I900 bepe platform rebuilder.

If sk tools benchmark is reliable I get no more than 260 in integer score.
There are chefs that succeed 310!!

I wonder whats their secret!!
I found that the classic recmod sys of the kitchen overrecmods the sys by 6-7 more files than needed for slot 0 free.
I converted some heavy or critical files to modules and i still have slot 0 free but the roms speed remained unchanged.

Can anyone from the chefs give any tip or guideline to make roms faster?

Unless, you're massively screwing up, it's hard to improve the integer test. I get 330 on my TP consistently over many roms (not all mine) and builds. I personally think the sk boot-time is the best performance indicator. You can trick some of the tests to get better results, but I'm not convinced things actually work better. For instance, I like things better with a file system index @1400 than 2100. I've also got my sd write speeds up to 3500 kb/s (from 700 or so), but I think it's more a trick than anything (using as caches).

Click Add resource
Go to dialog -> 14368 -> XXXX ( i.e 1033 for english )
Right click on the dialog box
Click insert control
Select bitmap ( control )
Write 100 in caption ( or should be same as the bitmap id which you have created )
Now move the image where you like to
Click compile script
Save the file
Exit the reshacker
Sign the shellres.dll.XXXX.mui
Convert back to module.
Thats it.

the file will either be called shellres.dll.0409.mui or something

Or just search using * in stead of XXXX (and search hidden / system files)

Normally it's location is: SYS\21864\SHARED\0409\Base_Lang_0409\shellres.dll. 0409.mui

Don't search for shellres.dll.XXXX.mui. Write your lang code instead of XXXX. like shellres.dll.0409.mui for english and then search it :)

The file/module will be in Base_Lang_XXXX ( Where XXXX is your lang code, i.e Base_Lang_0409 for english ).

Yeah I've cooked with Alex's files and it's all good for me. Have you recmodded Adobeflash and Browsingie modules? Those usually cause the white screen hang. Try that.

to my knowledge VK is just using platformrebuilder (which in turn is using i think buildxip.exe) to create xip.bin

the easiest route would be to configure platformrebuilder for your device. even if you dont use that kitchen grab your xip.bin and go, its less work

I posted about a tool that I made that automatically ports xip.bin and creates the MSXIPKernal folder for you. This is for EVK. Just drop your xip.bin into the folder. Start the script. Press dump xip.bin. Close that program. And enjoy.

As long as you are using EVK or a kitchen that supports or uses Modules like with Platformrebuiler. If you are using anything different you will have to port the XIP manually

Yeah just grab xip.bin and put it in the folder with the other two files. It should work on non-htc device as well. It was made using the tutorial by indagroove on the first post.

But the worst thing is that Restorator adds "Bome" to resource table of any file being edited! You can check this by searching ASCII string "Bome" in saved file, for example by WinHEX. This makes me really angry, so i made patch which wipes it; but anyway i try to avoid using Restorator.
The poor thing is that i was not able to find any other editor which work correctly with "..\0x00" string tables and sometimes there is simply no alternative. If you have another one, please correct me!
If I am wrong (maybe I have bad version, but I tried lots of them), please pm me for a working one! =)

ResHack sucks and should be avoided. You can't view everything about a file. ex. RCDATA, reshack sometimes show only hex when actually there is a .wav or .gif file.

I have no idea what kinda graphics you want to edit, but to edit the dll you should first recmode it to file, than edit, than reversmode it back to module

After flashing on welcome screen wifi gets on then after uc system automatically reboots. After a reboot if i switch off the wifi and do a manual reset from the next boot the comn manager, today setting, dropdown of file explorer and vol ume button wont work.

Those programs require an HTC library which he must not have included. I remember solving it in a ROM I built a while ago.

Here you go, tested and working. Its a SYS package, so just replace the two folders in your sys files prior to cooking. I have an option xml that lets me select that when I cook but not everyone uses the type of kitchen I use. Also the guid's are different so your Option XML if exists will not detect this package. Edit your option XML to match the new guid's.

Edit: Updated 12/19/09 to Latest Version also now supports Multiple Languages

If you would like to cook for just your language delete every other language. It will not hurt to leave them, just trying to save you some more space!

1. Where can i change black and white bluetooth and beam icons to colorful ones?

2. Every time after softreset when i go to Manila Email tab appears error from IE "The address is not valid. Check the address and try again". If i press OK, it will gone, but reappears after next restart. GPRS working fine, so it is not related that i dont have connection. This problem appeared for me with new build 28011. Any help will be helpful.

Sounds like you're either using an old version of Shared Modules, or missing Resource Proxy.
I have tried replacing Shared Modules, SharedResource and ShareDLL from working kitchen but same error. I will try tomorrow adding ResourceProxy_1_0_19151630_00

Last problem I have:
In WMP when I watch video and if I press fullscreen mode it will return back to normal view within a second, I have found out that removing my keyboard package from ROM fixes this, also I have tried IME_EzInput_Western_2_1_19163529_00 with IME_Engine_Western_2_1_19202626_00 and same bug!!

However if I add IME_Engine_Western_2_1_19192727_00 with IME_EzInput_Western_2_1_19192721_00(which has arrows which I dont want) there is no problem!

I know it sounds funny that kbd has something to do with WMP, any ideas how to fix that?

Yes, you can use the dump sort tool to delete all duplicates quickly and easily.

I have tried replacing Shared Modules, SharedResource and ShareDLL from working kitchen but same error. I will try tomorrow adding ResourceProxy_1_0_19151630_00

Last problem I have:
In WMP when I watch video and if I press fullscreen mode it will return back to normal view within a second, I have found out that removing my keyboard package from ROM fixes this, also I have tried IME_EzInput_Western_2_1_19163529_00 with IME_Engine_Western_2_1_19202626_00 and same bug!!

However if I add IME_Engine_Western_2_1_19192727_00 with IME_EzInput_Western_2_1_19192721_00(which has arrows which I dont want) there is no problem!

I know it sounds funny that kbd has something to do with WMP, any ideas how to fix that?

No, you don't need to put xip.bin from new build. There are two folder inside ROM folder,
1. folder as your device name
make a new folder inside it and rename it as your new XIP build number, copy "OEMXIPKERNEL" of your device here
2. "shared" folder.
make a new folder inside it and rename it as your new XIP build number, and put your new "MSXIPKernel" here.

After flashing on welcome screen wifi gets on then after uc system automatically reboots. After a reboot if i switch off the wifi and do a manual reset from the next boot the comn manager, today setting, dropdown of file explorer and vol ume button wont work.

Cooking for opal build 28008(this happens with all builds)
Everything works perfect except the above problem.

Chota, you,ve got some rec'modding to do in a big way (I doubt that rom boots). You have 19 M loaded into slot 0, which is way too much.

No one here has a clue what you messed up. There are literally millions of things that could be wrong.

meanwhile I fixed one little trouble into 0410 mui ... if to someone need it I attached the fixed module from 28014 ... for other build you can check this and then fix any other build ... because, I didn't try if this works for other ... I don't think that could work for other build but if someone going to try maybe could report it ....

Am not sure if this has been introduced or not, but fir the first time since wm6.5.x, i have used a wm 6.5 build and have found this trick on trial.

For many of us using the WM 6.5 is just like WM 6.1 with minor updates, but using WM 6.5.x steps ahead in Graphical User Interface. Well now it possible to have WM 6.5 to have similar Graphic Customizations that you see in WM 6.5.x such as, Check Boxes, Push Buttons, Radio Boxes, etc. Have a look at the screens below, the top images are default WM 6.5 looking but the bottom images are Graphically customized like in latest WM 6.5.x Builds.

Well what can i say i have tried everyposibility that i can do i have disabled the whole ext package group then cooked same problem persist. You can have a remote access to my pc and check you have time?

Edit: You can see the rom made by me few days before http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=597041 but that rom also has problem before i make any further rom i want to really clear that problem man i spent hours to fix it i dont even have hint so that i can start.

i understand you want to find what is causing your issue, and im telling you that with a 6.5 nk.exe you cant have too many modules.....your slot 0 has 0 modules maybe your problem is somewhere else.

I've got 134 modules in slot 60; you've only got 18. I wish I had 268 in there, but I've converted practically every .exe and .dll that I can. Like TPC said, the more the merrier. I just made a module Facebook 1.0 package and it boots up so much faster. Occasionally things won't work (usually graphics in my experience), but there's really no downside and it's frickin' impossible to over-run into slot 0.

Save the CAB and upload it here. I will make another package out of the yet again newest version.. I love Microsoft. They watch what we do and when we get settled they release new versions of APPs and leak new WM builds. Funny stuff.

yes they have been aroung, with amarullz, pink theme, ahen theme and some other. but for wm6.5.x. but when the same used for wm6.5 with all the resources does make up for some graphic enhancements which even wm6.5.x couldnt.

They are OEM package in this pic.
My suggestion is to download the Mega RUU signed from htcpedia.com and then extract it with Ervius Kitchen....in this way you will have the EXT folder with inside all the packages.

Here you go, tested and working. Its a SYS package, so just replace the two folders in your sys files prior to cooking. I have an option xml that lets me select that when I cook but not everyone uses the type of kitchen I use. Also the guid's are different so your Option XML if exists will not detect this package. Edit your option XML to match the new guid's.

Edit: Updated 12/19/09 to Latest Version also now supports Multiple Languages

If you would like to cook for just your language delete every other language. It will not hurt to leave them, just trying to save you some more space!

I have an option xml that lets me select that when I cook but not everyone uses the type of kitchen I use. Also the guid's are different so your Option XML if exists will not detect this package. Edit your option XML to match the new guid's.

Edit: Updated 12/19/09 to Latest Version also now supports Multiple Languages

If you would like to cook for just your language delete every other language. It will not hurt to leave them, just trying to save you some more space!

No matter that it is latest, date of this build is quite old; the only interesting thing is that aku changed from 5.3.0.0 to 5.3.0.1, nothing more. Are there newer builds from this branch or it moved to WMD? Is this branch alive or it is stopped already? Don't know..

Guys i have download htc mega's packages (qvga) but i dont understand whether its oem package or ext because everyfolder is double i mean one with lang 0409 other normal so do i need to do any formating or anything to use. Plz refer to the image below and reply as soon as possible.



If it have header "OEM", it's usually device specific, but you still can use this package with some modification ofcourse.

for others package, you can put them in EXT folder.

from your picture it seem that the package is not in EVK format, you need to convert it first. I already give the tool in may thread at OPAL forum, check it there.

Works fine for me bud.. Must be your AKU version I imagine. I use AKU .5.3.00 on all of my ROMs so Marketplace works, certain updaters, Myphone, etc.. Here are screenshots successfully synced with Myphone server on both 6.1 build 21055 and 6.5 build 28014.

Works fine for me bud.. Must be your AKU version I imagine. I use AKU .5.3.00 on all of my ROMs so Marketplace works, certain updaters, Myphone, etc.. Here is a screenshot successfully synced with Myphone server.

I use AKU .5.5.0 28008 build

Ok Guys using 28008 build VGA when I open some apps here is error I get
The file "xxxx" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot found....

But exactly menu loader have no effect to my rom. Turn on, turn off, HTC Menu always is on. I use loader mostly for MessageBox Enchancement and SIP Menu.
Another useful fact, i removed HTCUtils from my rom. It is strange, but if this file is in my rom, HTC menu dont work, SIP Menu also.
Be careful, i have non-htc device. For HTC devices HTCUtils.dll maybe needed.

Try using BsB G-Config. When you add module/app to G-Config, you'll see either the class name or app exe file.

if you have visual studio you can try using remote spy to identify the window class.

It isnt a package, it is only an exe . Click 'n use :D

I guess that if you'll put it in windows/startup it will auto toggle the taskbar .

It will only show the files created after Rom is flashed. If you create a office mobile file(excel, winword etc...) you will see your file in the Documents Tab

....yes it worked on finger keyboard. i even exaggerated the value to 64 which in turn make the finger keyboard go up almost in the middle of the screen. But for PCM keyboard it won't work... Anayway thank you for the reply....:)

Same here, it switched around my volume buttons. When pressed vol-, it brings up the quick links on the home page. When I press vol+, it goes back to the home screen. WEIRD!!

Cool, so sharedresource pckg is evidently needed (or rather, just that .dll; those graphics while sweet will probably screw up any themes we may have installed)

i've cooked w/the new shared resources, don't personally use manila or HTCVolumeControl so i think it's gonna be up to someone else. DomSim has reported it to be working though
