anymore clues as to which way they are heading with the 232xx dialer?
as the 205 has messed the htc dialer a bit I wonder if it will be as a start for a new MS dialer

I cook in old style kitchen and want to try and start cooking 6.5 builds.
The problem is the rom never boots, this what i do:
I use the latest rhodium official dump and get the sys and oem...of course the oem has been modified...duplicates removed and so on.

For the rom folder I use os.nb.payload and boot.rgu from native kovsky xip by Da_G ....

I also use wmreloc 2 .....

I dunno how to port the sys....I tried exchanging the .VM from my stock rom but then WMreloc doesn't recognize it as 6.5 and relocates the dlls wrong....I tried keeping the sys untouched but then it won't boot

Any old styler there that can help me !??

all version before from da_g works great.
but build "23518" doesn't boot..

the boot-screen display with htcanimation will be show, after that procedure nothing happens...
no windows mobile 6.5.5 start-procedure is loading...

anyone have a solution or the same problem ???

* Home settings not working
* receiving calls not working, fixed by replacing phone redist and another package.
* Comm manager is not working
* theme ugly, this build ignored HTC animation and operator package.

Build 23518 working like a charm on topaz. Seems more responsive and less buggy than 515.

I have previously tried slotting the threaded mail package from 23515 into a build based on 23618 with mixed results. The threaded mail with preview showed up ok but was kinda slow and not very responsive. Now that 518 seems to be picking up in speed I think I'll stick with that ... for now :D

Don't know what you are attempting but you need tmail.exe as well. Maybe others too.

Office and Outlook are separate. You may as well just use the 23518 SYS if you want both.

Regarding OneNote being part of Office 2010, well who knows what Microsoft is thinking. Maybe previously OneNote was new to Windows Mobile and Office has been there since before OneNote. So instead of making a new package for Office (as there is no new release of Office for Windows Mobile), Microsoft just introduced a new package for OneNote as supplement. With a new release of Office 2010, it wouldn't harm if Microsoft package them all up, right?

That's what I think too. There was a question a few posts befor mine where someone had copied the office folders to an other build and was wondering why his emails are still not threaded. Someone told him that he has to copy tmail stuff as well. If you (and me) are right, this is not true. Not "as well"! He only needs to copy the tmail stuff and Office has nothing todo with that. Now it should be clear, i think... ;)
And:
Not packaged together does not always mean that they don't need each other. If that would be true I would not have a problem deleting pIE (more info at the end of this posting).

That is exactly the problem I have! EMail-Client is only one of the applications which might be dependent on parts of the pIE stuff. If I saw it right, there is also an XML-parser in one of these folders. That could be used by other WM applications as well?!
Has anyone ever tried to remove the pIE from his ROM? What can be delted without getting problems with other applications?

If you delete the folders browsingie and browsingie_lang_0407 than you safe much space in rom. you go back to ie5 when you do this. but rom worked very well and there are no problems. try it!!!

I just tried and it starts Sharepoint. I think you are missing some packages. Suggest you includes all the SYS first (excluding the arabic packages).

i have know the tmail.exe and tmailutil.dll from 23518 in my german wmd 28205 build, but i see no effect on email. i think is not so easy to get "threaded email".

office 2010 no problem, but german "sharepoint-Server" do nothing...

i con only choose the following messagetypes "messagetyp, from, received on, title"
when i choose one "receiver", i get NO new window with all messages from this receiver....

problem is:
german build 23518 doesn't boot, can anyone agree this ???

Somehow, Me Thinks MS appreciates at least Some of what XDA does... ;) I think we run the new ROMs through a rigorous test cycle that most others can't. Not to mention the "fixes" we share with the world.

now i have replaced all common files (dpi192,dpi192 480 640,shared) and msxip-kernel from this recmodded build

i have a diamond htc 1 with native nk.exe, everything since build 28205 works great...
but with this build 23518
diamond will not boot windows mobile 6.5.5
after htc-animation (bootpackage v1.3 vga with sound) nothing happens...
i miss htc-bootlogo (welcomehead.192_640.png) and following windows mobile calibration screen...

so everyone have a solution....

i' have no idea what i can else do to detect this problem...
all files (oemxip) and kitchen-parts the same as used in build 28205...
but build 23518 never boot on german htc 1

so i think at last german (0407) files may be broken ???
which file (0407) is responsible for booting... ???

you probably need administrative privileges on your machine to run, but I'm not sure as I am always admin...

The "fixes" you talk about, happen because we like to mix and match things. Say... Porting WVGA Sense to VGA. Using a dialer package designed for 21XXX on a 28XXX build... Using brand new packages with old drivers and generally mixing things. HTC or Microsoft never really do that, so there's no need for "fixes" most of the time. :)

Oh, actually I don't mind the build number. I'm worried whether I did something wrongs as I kept seeing different build number compared to others. It just turn out that Leo's Device Information shows different build number compared to the About screen (I actually forgot that I can use the About screen to check the build number).

So i searched newere device oem or newer htc rom releases and found that this serial32.dll is not at all used so is there any alternative reg entry to use that serial32.dll so that i can access bluetooth?

all you need to is drag the rollup folder onto the batch, enter your RESH, RESV, DPI, and LANG and it does the rest :) you still need to remove items you do not want, for example, decide if you want baseappsfiles or baseappsmodules, remove wince.nls if you want, etc...

you probably need administrative privileges on your machine to run, but I'm not sure as I am always admin...

Doesn't work for me. Seems that finish, but when opens the explorer window no folder sys.... exists. I tried many times, same resault. I think that the problem is the path, because I have windows 7 localized in another language.
How can I edit the batch file to specify a dir for sys folder?

There shouldn't be anything wrong with the cabs cause i use them on every other build it just fails on this latest one. Still not sure why. If i remove the cabs it gets through it but of course then everything crashes.

I have windows 7 ultimate 32bit with completely desabled UAC too, and when the batch file runs I input 240 - 320 - 0409 - 96, message is
All done! You will still be responsible for removing items not relevant to your device/region!......
and opens the folder documents and settings\username\my documents, but no folder Sorted.... exists, and no any other new folder in this directrory.

strange...did not work correct...it sorted correct but instead of sorted folder are system files in the outcoming folder...what i do wrong...have try drag and drop...also copy it in the rollup folder and try from that...with and without admin...Any help...??

I had disabled MSIMAR after reading the explaination of it: "MSIMAR - SIP support for Arabic builds - excluded from non-arabic builds"
The newer & more finger-friendly MS softkeyboard disappeared.

When I looked at the .rgu it includes the SIPs - Block Recognizer & Letter Recognizer without any sign of Arabic.
Any feedback? Thanks.

You're welcome.

OEMXipKernel is your device's XIP, so you will have to keep that. And just as you said, simply rename the build number to 21888.

That should do it.

Be mindful to recmod some things if you don't have a native WM 6.5 Kernel (for instances, everything in: Browsing, Browsingie and Browsingcore folders) or you'll have a non-booting ROM.

The newer & more finger-friendly MS soft keyboard is actually the MSIMAR itself. WWEnglish support is available & selectable in one of the lower left keys.

The explanations on this thread that it is only for Arabic support is not applicable anymore. Just include MSIMAR in the kitchen and you have the MS Soft keyboard restored back.

Works great! Placed it in the same dir with the extracted rollup & run the batch. Folder "sorted" created with the resv, resh, dpi & lang selected. :cool:

There is only Metadata directory in COM2 branch, the other are from COM3, COM5. You can copy Metadata from older builds.

I have windows 7 ultimate 32bit with completely desabled UAC too, and when the batch file runs I input 240 - 320 - 0409 - 96, message is
All done! You will still be responsible for removing items not relevant to your device/region!......
and opens the folder documents and settings\username\my documents, but no folder Sorted.... exists, and no any other new folder in this directrory.

You are dragging the rollup folder onto the batch file right? that is how it needs to be launched...
