With kitchens for demolition to Dump Russified two different ROM --- HTC Himalaya_28205CHS and GSmart i128_28205CHS.
* 0419.mui language resources used are the same for HTC and GSmart.Edited initflashfiles.dat, default.hv and user.hv.All happened firmware gathered and works.All menus displayed.In GSmart-no questions, but in HTC is in a menu such bug

Left menu GSmart, right HTC.Menu appears when I click on a contact in your phone on HTC empty window, the bottom menu buttons, keypad, x, start-up is not pressed, you can only go by clicking the button on the phone call is finished.

Add the lines below to a Provisioning XML. This will make sure most if not all of the settings are there. If you just want a quick fix then Navigate to those registry keys using a registry editor and delete the "redirect" value and soft reset.

Yes I have and since this issue only happens with these builds that is why i'm voicing the problem on this thread. All i have to do is change the build and everything works flawlessly.

Some infos about removing pIE 6on6 from the SYS-folder.
- BROWSING - this is pIE5 and should not be deleted
- BROWSINGCORE - with Da_Gs info you might think that this is a part of pIE6on6 and may be deleted. You shouldn't do that because my ROM would not boot without this folder
- BROWSINGIE - this can be deleted without running in trouble.

But I still have an other problem:
I cook WM6.5 roms for my HTC Wizard and with some builds the contend of the ExtROM is corrupt. For example 28014 was fine but with build 28205 I could not access the files in the ExtROM. I already know that this problem is releated to the MSXIPKernal-folder. I cooked a 28205 ROM with the 28014 MSXIPKernal and the ExtROM workes great. Do someone know which module of this folder is responsible for accessing the ExtROM. Please help! Thank you very much!

Learn your registry terms buddy.... A "key" in the registry is like a folder.. A "value" is what you want to delete.. And the "data" is whats blank. I said delete the "value" meaning tap and hold on redirect and pick delete. And yes the provxml will make sure the redirect value is deleted.

yes i understand you but don't misunderstand me...deleting directly from registry is a piece of cake, but adding a command to the provxml to delete a registry value or key that was created is all i wanted to know...

not for someone to delete after flashing but for it to delete a key or value during setup automatically, no sweat tho, i managed to get it working

Check your MSXIPKernel, besure the modules "coredll.dll" is not missing

If you're working with Ervius VK, try 'Dump Sorter' (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4226018&postcount=1), it'll sort the rollups automatically for EVK.

You still have to put the MSXIPKernel in the right folder (ROM/Shared) - use kitchen folders for another build to compare and make sure you're getting it right.

Try searching for "A TPC ROM" string on all .provxml and .reg files. You can use notepad++ to do the searching.

Screen 2:

Regarding the icon lock, I'm not sure, but if you suspect overwritten issue, then you should check your build log.

you are using one of my older kitchens, it has shellres96.dll and .mui in oem folder you need to delete those. also there are newer kitchens in my kitchen thread that dont have that stuff in oem, you should try using on of those. for the memory, im guessing that its your resource proxy .reg. go to your resource proxy pkg and in app.reg change shared mem size to dword=0000000.

i was referring to how i do it with kaiser while running ext pkgs from htc Mega. open your resource proxy pkg and you will see the registry for it there, change it to look like this.

Can anyone share a working package of Opera Mobile Beta 2u? I had the first release working fine, but it d=seems either opera made some changes that caused a problem, or I did. Either way, when I cook it in and try to load opera it starts to load, but then I get an error that Opera Mobile could not load. Thanks in advance.
PS: If you have an edited package that allows it to be cooked along side other versions of opera that would be even better, but if not I can make the changes on my own.

these packages are meant for rom chefs for cooking. you dont need to extract it to your memory card, but you could cook your rom. if you want to have it easier, look in your device's thread for a matching rom and how to flash it

as i said, THESE packages are meant for cooking, you cant flash this directly to your device. search for your device using the forum search and maybe you will find a matching rom

you are using one of my older kitchens, it has shellres96.dll and .mui in oem folder you need to delete those. also there are newer kitchens in my kitchen thread that dont have that stuff in oem, you should try using on of those. for the memory, im guessing that its your resource proxy .reg. go to your resource proxy pkg and in app.reg change shared mem size to dword=0000000.

No, you have only to replace the first part of your initflashfiles.dat with that one and all links will be managed fine, all names will be right after flash, because it will convert all codes to strings.

I had already answered the persons question. Which is "did anyone try the porting the threaded email over to a COM2 build (218xx)." The answer is yes I tried and no it doesnt work. I said there might be more to it than swapping over the two known files to work on the 6.5.x builds (Newer UI with start menu on bottom).

The two files to swap for the 6.5.x builds are tmail.exe and tmailutl.dll from 23517 or 23518 which are also 6.5.x.. Doesnt work for original 6.5 builds with start menu on top. Although I shouldnt have to repeat myself, but looks like I have to. And for the other question, 218xx builds are COM2 and original 6.5 with start menu on top etc..

I am guessing you are using a 6.5.x build (start button on bottom) in that case you need to change the registry entry below in outlook enhancement in your OEM folder. Or blank out this value in the registry and soft reset.

I have an issue ...

My rom goes through the initial set up process and then hangs on the last screen before manila or titanium screen. If I press and hold the red button, it goes to the screen lock ok and I can get out of this the usual way and into manila/titanium screen. But there is no phone signal or reception until I press the green button. Then the provider and signal appear. But then I can't access the start menu!

Anyone had issues like this? I'm using 23518 with full SYS package, topaz EXT packages, some mods to the OEM but nothing that hasn't worked before if you know what I mean. I've built a booting rom using the same kitchen but any new roms all seem to have this issue ... :confused:

I've tried adding Phonecanvas to a ROM which already had Showcase installed.. It didnt fix that problem.. if I understand correctly Showcase needs to be told what to correct with "PositionFix" using a registry entry..

Instead of using Showcase... use xtask... is better has the same fixes and you can add more fixes for more apps i had psoision issues with older commanager but i just add the fix in xtask and i never had it agan.... ;)

Replace this .dsm with the one from your MSXIPkernel. I edited it to say 23518 if it makes you feel better.

I'm a coder and the reason for this is so posts won't be abused to screw up the forums. If this wasn't the case, you could just do "WWWWWWWWWWWWWW..." for like 5 minutes and it will make the forums post box like 5000pixels wide.

This is a no no because it screws up the website layout.

On my Topaz, running 23518... same packages I've used for a while... frequently when I get a new notification (message, vmail, email, missed call, etc) while in Vibrate mode... will cause my phone to never stop vibrating until I unlock it.

The ROM is a LITE rom I built. Uses minimal packages. Stock dialer, comm manager, homescreen, lockscreen, etc.

I have Auto-lock setup and has been working great for several builds. Again I haven't changed anything except the new build. While locked is when it occurs. Happens 5-6 times a day that I notice. Could be all the time except I am pretty quick to check my phone.

Hi Que PPC, not to mean rude & just to quote you "again and again" lambasting on the device beta thing, try it your self ... copy paste the reg entries with device beta, delete the space and preview your post ---> space gets "inserted automatically between device and beta. Your comment to check what was written before posting is not valid. Try it yourself.

What he simply meant is, don't try to replace power package from other device. Just use the one that is for you device, which should already been included in the OEM package.

I recently had the same exact problem. It ended up being that while I was deleting the cpr files I did not need, I also clipped a couple that were needed. Extract the directory again.

If you have all lockscreen cpr's in place, check reg. It should look like this:

Search in your ext oems for the htc taskamanger...in the registry of it search for : "EnableTodayX"=dword:00000001 and changed to dword:00000000

edit or in your installed rom under: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager]

and if you want to extract registry find user.hv and default.hv files inside dump. then use rgucomp to convert .hv to .txt

Buddy you r right i cant get proper packages with a protected rom with a kitchen and if i dump a rom manually still it seems i wont get the rgu files which i want. And please do remember i know how much work chief's do to make a rom i have made thousands of rom but with some problems thats why seeking help, actually i dont need any package or anything from a cooked rom i just need some registry entries to fix a serios problem in opal. Thank you very much buddy but i think by doing that way it would give me all registry entry in one text file? I already have that coz i backup all reg and then unpacked in desktop and got all reg entry but i want specific one like from oem driver, oem_lang_0409 thats it from that two folder only i need i even sorted the reg dump but its not working when cooked.

@all above: Actually i have prob regarding wifi, iam u have seen me asking about this prob thousands of time ok once more i repeat. After cooking for opal when i flash then on welcome screen wifi gets autostart (even the wlan status is off only in registry but it automatically changes after flashing donno why even i removed all ext packages) then after configurations when i try to access comm manager, volume button etc etc wont work then on second boot everything works till i switch off wifi as soon as i switch off wifi and reboot everything going to the first boot state that is many things wont work for ever until i do a hardreset.....

Now for this problem ivanmmj and KilZone helped me a lot to solve but didnt actually it got solved but everytime with a alternative bug it pops out. Ok till now what i know solution for this above problem with alternate bug are:

If i delete the following reg key from oem_lang_0409 (evk or sjk)

wifi wont get auto on and bluetooth also works but then i could not switch on bluetooth.

Solutions for the above problems that i tried:
1. Tried to replace serial32.dll from other devices offcourse (omap 850 devices)
2. Tried to delete reg entry for serial32.dll and add it later but it would have no impact.
3. Tried different oem folders right from official to cooked.

And also note that i asked one cheif for oem folder basically he dont know eng much he is from pdaviet he provided me that folder 2 times but they seemed default one only which didnt worked.

I have asked this question many times in xda dont beleive? just search for keywords home setting not working or comm manager, volume button prob etc etc u will get all search result posted by me he he

Note: This is a problem not only with me u can see superjustkitchen thread on opal board see the whole conversation two more cheifs treid and they totally gave up cooking iam the one still hoping to get some solution. Still some cheifs succeeded in cooking rom without bug but when i asked them they said they have used default oem only but how its possbile when three people are facing same prob.. The only rom that always works without prob is pdaviet one made by phamquang and what u know? He never ever shares his oem folder or even dont want to tell how to solve i have asked him thousands of time.

Thanks buddy for coming forward and trying to help ok that KilZone also told that on first put it puts all provxml files but what to see and where to find those files just give me some hints i will try u know i spended to much time to fix all but didnt got success till now..


Edit: btw using htc rom tool i got default.hv and user.hv from the nbh thus skipping all the steps of dumping etc.... and now using rgucomp.exe i got converted it but once again its a reg dump of all reg entry sad its of no use i already got that and tried to sort and cook not working...

You dont have to disable the quickmenu drop down. Just make it transparent. Here are the registry edits to do so. If I were you I would make a .reg file and use the import function.

There are 2 in here, one is a basic one (4 options i think - ALL Communication Manager 2.2) and the other is pulled from a Kaiser with 10 options - Kaiser Comm Manager.

I've already uploaded the xip.bin no more than 2 days ago in this very thread.

For future reference so you don't have to rely on others, you can also easily get it for yourself from the original nb by using Da_g NbImageTool.

It works well (I really like), but I don't think its worth $24.99. Which is the only reason i don't use it exclusively.
EDIT: Used it on a Omnia i910 with Com4 and com5 builds and 282** builds too

I cannot seem to find it now, but I thought I read somewhere it is used to start some services. Here is a registry for the Clear Storage utility, many others have similar code[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\ Settings\System\MyCpl.cpl,2]

Well, let we say if true HTCStartup do that job, so it could be similar function with the autoshortcut, coz in my stock rom, it doesnt use HTCStartup, but autoshortcut instead, & the icons created well.
So today we always want to use the latest EXT leaked, which using HTCStartup instead of AutoShortcut. I just confused which one I must use, coz both of them required to run at startup, and I dont want in my rom have the similar function files run at startup, just slow down the startup time.

:D it's the first time i read that a cook that has HIS kitchen want to dump HIS rom, really funny :D, i helped many people on xda and i have many friends, but your request was very strange so i replied like this.

Man i wanted to know where those rgu file go thats why anyways noproblem buddy. Btw i found they go in the hive files named user.hv and default.hv and i got theme extracted :)

Ok u can disable that but hey if u just want task manager then do as following.

First click on the clock ur magnification bar or so will come down then click again the clock and hold it for 2 to 3 sec and then leave just after a sec u will see the taskmanager dropdown. Hope it helped u

Yes buddy if u find it uncomfortable clicking two time to get qmenu then u can there is a cab to uplift that magnifier just few mins i will post here if i get:)

Edit: Cab file attached :D Install it to ur main memory

i remember when vijay made vjtoggletoday...well, i assume all old PDA users left already, and theres nooone that CAN write lowlevelsys apps for pdas anymore.

Before asking that dropdown bar, i have searched and tried toggle today, but no result and it makes manila position move up about 26 pixels :D. I'm working on 28014 build.
