I'm not really sure what's so idiotic about the title bar-I personally love it. But you can easily kill it with a mortscript. I posted one in this thread a while ago. The window has to be launched first before the script works, and the script will have to be run after a reset. You can also disable the window with some task managers. Search for the window name (titlebarlist) to find the mortscript.

Where do you get the package from? From the look of the registry, it seems like it's a HTC package, but I do not find such package from Leo or Raphael roms.

Ah. Well, to begin with, the titlebar has nothing to do with HTC and it is not loaded as a service, so it won't work.

You ask me - am I sure? :) Funny.... Titlebar has nothing to do with the registry, hex or other "magic" words. If you want to get rid of that dropdown stuff - just write the new Shell for M6.5 and that's it. Very easy :)

may be you have taked out the wrong reolution packages its ur own cooked rom or...because i have just finished cooking with 28205 build in my Xperia and Blackstone and i tested now i have not this problem the landscape work well...

The bluetooth folder present under sys\bluetooth if i replace that with wm 6.1 its not working (replace with wm 6.5.3) it says that bluetooth hardware not installed. But if i keep the original it has some problems any suggestions idea? Hoping to get some good replies :D

SYS: From build 28008
OEM: original folders
XIP: where to place the new ported xip....

It will be nice to try a different power package but I don't know a link to find a download...

This is the hardest problem to resolve. If the crashing application is platformrebuilder.exe, then take a carefull look at the build log. Any packages that appeared in the build log is considered ok. Then try disabling the packages after that. It should build without error, else try disabling all other packages except the SYS. Then you'll have to enable your packages one by one to find the culprit. If you just added some new packages, try disabling those first.

I wonder where you put all of the additional packages you wanted to include in your ROM?

Anyway, best not to touch the drivers. You only replace drivers from the same device (from newer rom) or from different devices which uses the same chip or board. You can't simply take any driver from any device and cook it in, else the device will stuck at boot screen.

Sounds like you use a old style kitchen. Your power.exe is in OEMDRIVERS. Replace that with a Power OEM for your kitchen style.

dont know why anyone would bother mixing the two, are you sure you haven't misread the threads, and that the chefs release both a 21xxx and 23xxx build?

There's a compatibility problem with HTC dialer on build 28205. Caller info is not available to the dialer during incoming call. Some chefs takes the dialer part (plus additional item) from build 23518 to fix it. Some succeed but some done. Anyhow, it causes the rom to be unstable.

read the posts that tell you how to do it, there's quite a lot all ready.

the answer is there, it doesn't take much work to do it and you don't need to wait for someone else to answer that way.

I have a vierd issue. First when it boots, i got the default boot screen. But when that customization is done mine custom boot image starts and the customization goes a second time. Why?

I may add that i use default runcc and hasnt edited the reg in it. I also added autoinstal.

do you have a folder on your sdcard named "autoinstall" with cabs in it? if so, that is what you are seeing run the second time :)

Thanks for the direction & tip fards! Saves me another weekend trying to figure out how to solve the problem. Will post how & what works with amarullz moded dialer (with video call) if ever I can make it work.

I know it's odd to just butt into one of your threads, but I really need an expert to guide me through the cooking process as I don't fully understand the concept, but someone has to start somewhere else we wont ever have an English Rom right!

So I have a 6.5 rom installed right now on my phone, but the language is Chinese, I'm happy with the Rom, it's just the language I need to change.

I have the flashing package for my phone as well, flashing my phone is very easy, the root folder of the flashing package on my Pc contains the Rom for the phone.

I know it's going to be a little bit of a hassle to you guys but if someone could just give me a hand to make this change, once I've done it the once then I'll have an idea for further changes.

Hi All,

I just finished porting 23518 to the Blue Angel but I cannot get ActiveSync to sync anything. The device connects to AS but all it does is spit out a 801800001 error. I already uninstalled and reinstalled AS with no luck. I am sure it has to do something with my rom as it does not happen with my Vogue (also on 23518). Anyone has any suggestions or fixes, please let me know. Thanks in advanced.

that may be true but i'm curious to see what task manager they are using. I cant find one that works perfectly with 6.5.x. Some either freeze the phone, some don't work with the notification enhancement, there's problems with all taskmanagers on 6.5.x

ms task manager works fine as it is, its been in all the builds.

if you want a task switcher that works then try arkswitch.. that works fine.

dont understand what you mean by sip placement? ms sip is in right place, htc one is now, 3rd party ones just need to adapt, thats not something were likely to see in a new build.

When you mentioned "I cant find one that works perfectly with 6.5.x", what do you mean by that anyway? Is it the feature where when the "X" is tapped, the app is closed (instead of minimize)?

As far as Windows Mobile is concerned, Windows' Task Manager never closes any app when "X" button is tapped. Only 3rd party Task Managers do that. From my experience, only HTC provides its own Task Manager. Well, maybe Sony too but others, I'm not sure.

you get the MS progress bar (from the newer builds) it then goes to runcc (Orange) does some of it then a soft reset? after the soft reset it goes straight to your Runcc screen?

if so then you need to check all the config text files in your oem, somewhere it's set to do a soft reset by the sound of it, or are you running a cab during install?

where are you putting your runcc background?

As far as Windows Mobile is concerned, Windows' Task Manager never closes any app when "X" button is tapped. Only 3rd party Task Managers do that. From my experience, only HTC provides its own Task Manager. Well, maybe Sony too but others, I'm not sure.

I just finished porting 23518 to the Blue Angel but I cannot get ActiveSync to sync anything. The device connects to AS but all it does is spit out a 801800001 error. I already uninstalled and reinstalled AS with no luck. I am sure it has to do something with my rom as it does not happen with my Vogue (also on 23518). Anyone has any suggestions or fixes, please let me know. Thanks in advanced.

I only used it for a day or two then i cooked a COM3 build but if my memory is correct the x2 Task Manager was working fine (i could be wrong but i think it was fine).
Anyway in the 7z file here i have included the version i used in the COM2 build (X2TaskManager) and the newer version for the latest COM3/5 builds that i'm using now (X2 Taskmanager WM 6_5_3 - v2).
It may be the same version your using, if not then next time you cook maybe you could try it.

Hey babbelut, Why would you want to do that???? The WM6.1 taskbar has the start menu at the top, the COM3 (is 28005 COM3??) builds have the startmenu at the bottom - you'd have 2 x start buttons?
Have you tried the COM2 builds - they still have the start button at the top.

Your particular question is asked several times already this week alone. As twopumpchump stated, no one knows how to disable it as it seems to be built into the kernel.

However it is sometimes fun to read replies from either

Resco Explorer 2010 Beta 3 already fixed the problem with the positioning. And for Camera (with Sensor SDK autorotate), Kisja and the gang released a patched Sensor SDK that handle old camera app.

Note: I'm currently patching Rhodium New Contact Card to VGA. It's now scrollable in landscape but the field size is still incorrect. I started with Tachi New Contact Card (full VGA in portrait, but not landscape), but I mistakenlly overwritten the file from Rhodium. Sigh, have to start all over again. Even worse, Rhodium's portrait is in WVGA. Double sigh...

I almost finished coding my Taskbar launcher. This one shows a fully customizeable menu with icons to launch whatever you want. With a special setting you can also say that nothing happens when you hit the taskbar. No HTC notification, no WM 6.5 taskbar. You guys have a little more patience and I promise I'm gonna release it soon!

I hope they're not finished with the 6.5.x branch, and honstly, I doubt they are. There's still a lot of settings dialogs and such with need to be transfered to their new UI.

No one else really is having an issue with 23518 and activesync so it is something specific to your setup. Start by removing all non essential items for wm to run and if you have recmodded anything in the shell or os folders replace them with the original modules again, then try another flash.

You need to add "manila.exe" to your gsensor filter list.

Hi fellows, i cooked a 21889 rom for my elfin, with many modules of the 1.28.412.3 Mega rom includede the touch options. But in many menús you have to pulse exactly seven times to operate it........
If you keep the old touch flo module it doesn't happen.
An idea to solve it?

Ok solved it! need to include the Bio Touch.dll and smarttouch.dll and the related reg keys from the mega OEMDRIVERS.

Definitely a lang problem then.
Make sure your initflash is ok. Probably set to autorun instead of "opstarten"

For example, The Clocks and Alarms control panel applet, it still shows the up down control and the Date Picker control unskinned. These two controls hadn't been skinned since the start of this UI. Is this because of ignorance, or is it deliberate? It looks bad to me. Anybody can comment on this?

When I switched from Raphael to Rhodium, I had to start all over with a new kitchen. Still don't know why, but it worked.

I downloaded JackWater Kitchen this morning and have been playing with that all day without any problems booting but it is not version 23518 but I did add in the files I gave you and it works.

Depends what you want to cook for. I cooked 23518 it for the Vogue with no issues but I am having a hell of a time trying to cook it for the Blue Angel (again with only 32 MB available of space for the rom, it just isn't that simple).

I personally do not like COM3 and greater just because of that.

Recently, while checking 23518 on the emulator, I noticed that MS removed most of the bugs in the UI. For example, the screens with scrollbars are now also scrollable by fingers. They also reordered controls so the screens look more accurate.

Bearing this in mind I decided to try to cook a ROM for my Diamond. But when I booted, I was dissapointed again. Somehow checkboxes in Alarms lost their skins. Also I have noticed that some buttons do not have skins at all (play and stop buttons in Sound and Notifications). As you mentioned, datepickers and some other controls do not have skins yet. And combobox's skin looks just ugly (what are thin and fat comboboxes???:confused:).

And the final blow to my wish to try a new build was realization that all old programs do not have skins on any elements! Just because they were written like that! :D
So some of my Diamond settings (5-6). all not MS applications and even one application I made myself! None of them did not have a new look.

It is really strange since trying WM 6.5.X themes on COM2 results in skinning all elements in ALL programs. It is a pity though, that there are some bugs with checkboxes and buttons there :(.

Yes exactly i also want to know there is no ms emulator with build 23518 the latest is wm 6.5.3 with build 23090 here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622320). Then which emulator u r talking about as far as i know we cant flash cooked roms to the emulator.

Deleting the welcome.lnk from startup folder may be solves your softreset=hardreset problem!

that used to happen when you are not using native wm6.5 nk.exe and have too many modules. Recmod some of them

Hey programatix, I only mentioned Rapidshare cos the other day it took >4 hrs to get a free slot to download a 65k file! I used to have a rapidshare account for a couple of years but now most sites use alternatives so it made less sense to renew my account this time around. Also, a lot of threads are wasted asking for mirrors - with sites like multiupload, the mirrors are there. A good download speed for me on rapidshare is <>250, with megaupload i get <>350k, my upload is generally as bad as 40k so takes ages to upload anything, with mutiupload i get <>50 (not much better but any increase is welcome).
Also, you start of stating 'Please do not comment with words like "it's sux" because you are having problem with it' then go ahead with 'By the way, multiupload is "sux" from my side'??
I agree that no negative words should be used but it also seems so many people have trouble with rapidshare, a year ago it was great but the last few months it has become less so.

EDIT: yes, Rapidshare is quite bad in my area too (Italy), MegaUpload and MediaFire are among the fastest (talk about downloading!).

I was teasing you and wanted to see how you respond to it. :) Many people having trouble with rapidshare does not give us the rights to comment using such words when someone uploaded it there. It would hurt the uploader's feeling. If this goes on, maybe one day people would stop sharing, then there would be complains (again) that people are not willing to share anymore and accused them of being selfish.

Anyway, downloading from Rapidshare is slow most of the time from my home but from my office, it's damn fast (including uploading).

that used to happen when you are not using native wm6.5 nk.exe and have too many modules. Recmod some of them

I use native wm 6.5 from Da G and i recmod almost the sys and it's the same :(

Try looking for big modules (in term of file size) and recmod them. Examples are manila.exe, mode9.dll and etc. You can search for "S000" and sort by file size. Btw, it would be faster if you search the "temp\dump" folder in your kitchen folder compared to the "ext" folder

I concur with programatix mainly because in my location, I get decent download speed mainly from Rapidshare. What is boon to others might be bane to some of us. :)

No offense meant, neither any intention to start a debate on the matter but rather be thankful to the uploader and request from any forumer who has a better internet bandwidth for upload to a "preferred" site. ;)

AFAIK if you're using WM6.5.X (with the start at the bottom) Autorotate doesn't work.
If you're using WM6.5 try to add manilla to this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487991

which sensor sdk are you using? ive been using this one from leo 2.02 rom and rotation works in all apps its supposed to for me.

I'm not sure whether this would work but Captain posted in Manila 2.5 thread that to make Manila 2.5 rotates (only music tab and photo tab), you'll have to remove manila from the G-Sensor whitelist.

I haven't had any problems other than my own errors. I used the rollup to build and got it to work. I have been using Scott's SSK kitchen, adding my own builds, etc. I did have to replace his OEMXIPKernel for some reason to get it to boot though and then my own mistake of not selecting real 6.5 AKU in the kitchen, till I noticed I was doing that. I do have to say that 23518 seems a bit touchy compared to previous builds. I am currently using Calk's kitchen w/out build/boot problems. The only problem I am having is the threaded e-mail seems to freeze the phone - soft reset...

It works for me on my Sprint ROM using either USSC drivers or newer Verizon drivers.
