Please somebody let me know if there is some place where i can get 23102 QVGA files. I really want to try this build.
@Duron: No man, 24001 is significantly more responsive than 23519. I can feel it on my gene.

Memory consumption seems comparable to 23518, say, but it definitely isn't faster on my topaz ... there's no benchmark, just the 'feel' of it.
Oh its fast in that way, i will myself try but my net slow downloading...

I have not tried it, but you can find the nearest build 23096. That's COM3.

Hi Everybody,
Below are the VK ready files for latest leaked builds.

You can't just use the link he copied in the message - rayfile generates new temporary links each time.
1) go to the file's download page, click on 'English' in the upper right menu (I'm guessing your English is better than your Chinese - I know mine is!)
2) click 'to download page' in middle right menu area
3) if Rayfile generates a temporary download hex link because the 'file is too large' right click on the 'rayfile' button in the middle right menu area and 'copy url' If the file is small enough then you can just download straight away.
4) paste copied string into base64 decoder - you'll have to leave off the 'fs2you://' part, so if the link you copied looks like this:
fs2you://Y2FjaGVmaWxlMzQucmF5ZmlsZS5jb20vemgtY24vZG93bmxvYW QvYzI1YTJkNGU3N2Y0YTJjOTg1MDMyYmU3ZWE4NWQwNTgvMjgw MTRfQWxsX0RQSV9BbGxfUkVTVi5yYXJ8MjEwOTE2Njk=
you should paste _this_ in base64 decoder:
Y2FjaGVmaWxlMzQucmF5ZmlsZS5jb20vemgtY24vZG93bmxvYW QvYzI1YTJkNGU3N2Y0YTJjOTg1MDMyYmU3ZWE4NWQwNTgvMjgw MTRfQWxsX0RQSV9BbGxfUkVTVi5yYXJ8MjEwOTE2Njk=
5) You'll end up with decoded string that looks like this:
cachefile34.rayfile.com/zh-cn/download/c25a2d4e77f4a2c985032be7ea85d058/28014_All_DPI_All_RESV.rar|21091669
6) to actually get the link right you have to drop off the last part '|21091669' so the actual URL will look like this:
cachefile34.rayfile.com/zh-cn/download/c25a2d4e77f4a2c985032be7ea85d058/28014_All_DPI_All_RESV.rar
So just copy that into your browser and the download will start.
That's all there is to it!
cheers - lunacie
Thanks for this workaround.
I downside I found when downloading with this technique is dealing with partial downloads. I tried using download managers with Firefox however they don't seem to handle this type of URL well. Was anyone able to successfully resume a download (especially large size) on Firefox or any other browsers? Does rayfile not allow resuming broken downloads directly?

Any opinions on 24601 and 25001? I have seen a lot posted on 24001/28223/23102 but has anyone actually tried 25001 and 24601?
Tried 23096 and 23626 and they both seem good. Stable, but no threaded Email, Office 2010 and the likes.

Heh, newer doesn't mean better or faster.
P.S.: Anyone knows what WVGA package can we use with 23102?
I would guess 282XX WMD branch, since 21302 also has the extra radio and checkbox buttons for themes.

I did but last post I found of yours I guess there was some COMMON files missing and you said you reuploading but didnt see a new link posted?
The missing common files are in shared 0409, off memory i think theres 5 or 6 files that need to be moved over. This is how they came from DFT. I'll check when i get home and upload again, 24001 common if i remember correctly.

I'd actually like to know if anyone has tried the 21626 build, as that's supposed to be the HTC branch, and in the past the features have mirrored the COM3 builds. I'm actually specifically curious to know if that build has threaded e-mail, updates to IE Mobile, and/or Office Mobile 2010. I'm unable to flash right now, but if someone already has the answer to this, I'd appreciate it. I'm figuring that only COM5 has the threaded e-mail & Office updates, but I'd like to confirm. Also, I'd like to know if the HTC dialer is working properly with that build (it better be, if it really IS the HTC branch, right?)

If this build is an 6.5.x build with the new GUI, you can easily port Threaded Messaging from 23519 to this build and also PIE and Office Mobile 2010, since both are build-independent!

21626 has bold fonts on HTC IME, some of them are way too bold..
seems very quick (on par with 24001) and text entry is good on my Leo.
pity the other fonts arent anti-aliased like the 28xxx builds and the htc dialer doesnt do caler ID

I'm using Opera every day and I think this worked. I'm not using rayfile (not any new build that I know about is there right now..?)
I posted many thousand pages ago UserJS for Opera (didn't worked in Firefox, no idea why, but it was Firefox's fault :P) that will allow you to do it even without this HUGE workaround, you'll just include that UserJS and it will allow you to click on "direct download" no matter what filesize just as soon as page finishes loading :).

- Headset icon wont shown
- No landscape & video call support

Well that's interesting. The cab you posted is more complete then the one I have. Mine only had 3 tabs and the dialer wouldn't collapse. But mine stayed in landscape and didn't force it back like this one does, although it still wasn't fit correctly.
It's very interesting that the X2 is a QWERTY slider but doesn't have landscape support in the dialer (yet?).

Open phcanrc.dll with a hex editor like Restorator and identify the dialog screen resposible for placing the element on the screen. Reposition the elements according to the new layout and you are done. SIMPLE isn't it ;)

They come from an original stock ROM for your device. If your service provider puts out a new ROM, that is the time to get the updated OEMXIPKernel files. Until then, just keep using the ones you have. That's pretty much what everyone has to do.

oemxip use the same version as the original oemdrivers ideally, so for example with teh LEO
if you're using 1.66 base for oemdrivers use the oemxip from that one.
correspondingly if you're using 202 (I recommend) then use the 202 oemxip
once you've found a set you like then stick with them no matter how much you change teh sys (until a new rom is out with a new oemxip etc).
These are device specific from the device manufacturer

23102 ? where this come from ?
Alex posted it. It came from XBeta originally in VGA format. Using it with 96 dpi files from 23096.
Does it have the threaded email or newer ui etc?
No. Its a continuation of 2309x branch it seems, 23096's internal version is 4134 and 23102's internal version is 4137 so it seems like this branch split off from 23097 or something like that. So feature wise its same as 2309x, old office, old outlook.
However, it features some changes in the font rendering engine. There are three new file in the OS folder : decompdll.dll, mgtt_o.dll and ttdrvgdi.dll which export all their function names beginning with FntDrv. And the change will be visible to the subtle eye. Fonts are more crisp, specially the hinting method used for ClearType has been improved a bit. Its a pleasure to read ebooks on this build :D

Beleive me its not more than half an hour while using this rom i dont know its because i made a lite rom or anyother reason this build is working really fast..:)

first make sure that the xml is valid by running it manually through dotfred taskmgr
also you need to set attributes S H R A to mxip provxmls (using attrib in command prompt).
the version number should be 3 digits i think so _0409 is invalid

You have to replace tmail.exe and tmailutil.dll!
This doesn't seem to work with Outlook. only the other mail accounts
DomSim
2nd February 2010, 11:37 PM
first make sure that the xml is valid by running it manually through dotfred taskmgr
also you need to set attributes S H R A to mxip provxmls (using attrib in command prompt).
the version number should be 3 digits i think so _0409 is invalid
i will try what you suggest, thank you

My rom does not ring when they get calls. Why?

3rd February 2010, 12:32 AM
I found that 28223 had some small graphical glitches. Nothing big, but enough to be annoying. It's hard to see in the screen-cap, but in pie above the web-address (especially above the http:\\), there's a little fuzz on the borders of the input area. I see the same stuff in total commander. I don't recall seeing this in 28217. Otherwise, it seems the same as 28217. I think I'm going back to 217.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4014/4325854635_b5e64e9c25_m.jpg
Edit: Yup, the 28217 graphics are cleaner. I may have messed something up setting up the sys folder (thought I did it all right, though), or I guess that not having all of the dpi files and what-not could cause the issue. It's really minor, but once I started seeing it, I couldn't stop seeing it.

not my favourite build...
getting slow screen redraws, and HTC dialer still playing up.

Hey, thanks! What do you mean by "HTC dialer still playing up"?
What do you think about 24601 and 21626?
caller ID doesnt show on incoming calls, during ringing phase.
Caller ID shows fine once connected though.
Outgoing calls show 1st dialed caller ID, but then show the same thing for every call made until SR.
It's a real pity as 28217 is my favourite build by a long way otherwise, I guess we'll have to wait for HTC to make a compatible dialer..
I can't see what's causing it, changing the cprog to one of the 235xx builds does work to get the caller ID working, but tends to mess up topbar, in that it becomes unresponsive, I guess it's notfication manager playing up as arkswitch works still. For me thats the only glitch but others are having more serious issues by changing the cprog.
I've tried so many different dlls and combinations to bring some stability to changing the cprog, but it doesnt work, so far
24601 started getting a bit weird on me this afternoon. some graphics glitching, and slowdowns. Couldn't work out why, so I've dropped it, it was ok.
21626 I flashed last night, can't remember what I thought, don't think it was positive.... check back a page or 3
Currently back on 23519 as I recooked it today. for me it's a toss up between 23519 and 24001 with the HTC dialer working, I can't bring myself to use the MS dialer no matter how much I skin it ... :D

I've already answered which do and don't work. but I guess it's time to put them all together..
I do agree that there's not a huge difference between most of these, most seem to be minor, with the odd speed or appearance difference.
*MY* that's MY personal take on what have I cooked the last couple of days
Using my own leo build, on 202 rom.
21626 -- bold fonts on HTC IME, some of them are way too bold..
seems very quick (on par with 24001) and text entry is good on my Leo.
pity other fonts arent anti-aliased like the 28xxx builds and the htc dialer doesnt do caler ID
21890--- it's old style--- boooooring didn't even bother flashing it because... well, just because its' not 2008 anymore..
22004 -- at first glance 22004 seems to be a step back, didn't stick with it long enough to see
23102 -- some new font rendering, HTC IME is all rendered in bold.. caller ID issues with the HTC dialer again..pretty quick
23519 -- pretty much same as 23518 (slighty faster)
24001 -- it's fast and good, very similar to the 235xx builds, but seems quicker,
24601 -- started out quite well, but had lots of slowdowns and graphics crashing.
25001 -- not my favourite build, getting slow screen redraws, and HTC dialer still playing up.
28217 -- Incoming Caller ID issue with the HTC dialer --- good font rendering no threaded or 2010 office, looks really pretty, softkey text is anti-aliased.
28223 -- gorgeous again, with the font rendering well, and faster than 28217 if possible, it doesnt have office2010 and no threaded email,HTC Caller ID issues
Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-... That's all, folks

@fards
Thanks a lot, very nice summary.
So most of them have issues with the HTC dialer. In general, I found 23518 lacking in terms of stability, the dialer often got messed up etc. though there are no issues with the caller ID. What remains is 23096, I guess I'll go with that.
By the way, I personally use Iconsoft PhoneEx, it's so much better than the HTC dialer (and works in ladscape!), but it's not free. I HATE the HTC dialer. Some time ago, there were good versions of the dialer on the Rhodium, but they all disappeared... :(

yeah suppose now I have a list I could try to work out what is the recurring pattern of changes that messes up the caller ID a bit better.
24001 is good, it doesnt have threaded email (easily fixed) adn office 2010 (not that I care) :D

Are you sure you are doing everything correctly? As far as I know, there is nothing wrong (in term of stability) with build 23518 or 23519 with HTC dialer. If there is any, it would definitely caused by the unfinished porting of the dialer or wrong packages cooked in. The only build that have problem with HTC dialer is 28205 (and newer).
freyberry
3rd February 2010, 03:45 AM
Yes, I'm sure I'm doing everything correctly.
It's not the usual caller ID problem, it's that the dialer sometimes gets messed up, i.e. the keypad disappears or is misaligned etc.
Rotating to landscape and back resolves it for a while, but it's nevertheless annoying.
Moreover, with 23518, sometimes the phone (HD2) doesn't wake up from sleep or just locks up.

For those having problems with using new builds, you might want to try your build in the Easy WM Kitchen. The new GUI build will automatically check packages and will tell you if you have any missing sys packages.

Nothing to wait - I'm only interested in these three builds so I downloaded them and made xip.bins. Other builds are not interesting for me now. Maybe later. Besides I suppose I already uploaded BuildXIP_Of_MSXIPKernel utility. Find it in the topic and make any xip.bin you want.
I've used this utility several times unsuccessfully. The resulting rom never gets past the windows mobile screen.
EDIT: My phone doesn't have a native 6.5 kernel.

Negative I guess if you use XIP.bin from another build... simply you will have another Kernel... maybe works... maybe you will have weird issues... I remember ancient time 6.1 when we can MIX XIP and SYS build numbers gigigi

I have a new problem..hoping someone can help. Trying to flash 21891 with manila 1922 on my HD2. Once the initial orange screen and progress bar is gone, "SIM card status" appears and it says "checking".
Then the screen just turns white and I can do nothing with the phone. I once managed to get to see that connection manager had crashed. But the connection manager does work with other builds in ym kitchen so it's not the problem.
What package is this "SIM card status" coming from?
Same here. I doubt its your build, as I've got the same problem with 21869,21890 and 21891.
Strange that the 2.02 Leo rom does not come with connection manager either.

Trying to delete shortcut in start Menu. I have not had any luck with a provxml. I tried changing the name and running in dotfred task manager but it would not run. I just want to delete these 2 shortcuts as they are already created in another folder and working. MSN Money, MSN Weather.
Here is my provxml that does not work. Can I use a xml and put in ConfigOperator.txt? how would I need to edit this file?
http://rapidshare.com/files/345466708/zz_Remove_Links.provxml
The easiest way is with a mortscript. I don't know how those shortcuts are created, but it's hard to root out. The widgets are basically stored in zip files, but I couldn't tell you how or when they are installed. Mortscripts work. Here is what you need:
SetFileAttribs("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Money.lnk",FALSE)
delete("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Money.lnk")
SetFileAttribs("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Weather.lnk",FALSE)
delete("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Weather.lnk")
Put that in a text file, name it cleanup.mscr, then put this in an add2config:
EXEC:\WINDOWS\cleanup.mscr
That gets rid of them. You can open up those widget files, but I couldn't figure out how to re-route the shortcuts or how to stop having them made.

They are installed through provxml. Money and Weather has their own provxml, extract them, and put it in EXT folder. Modify the shortcut where u want to in that...

No, they're not. I have my provxml's pretty well organized already, and they're aren't any widget provxml's. The shortcuts don' even appear in the dump (unlike all the others installed in the start menu by provxml's). I think that the path is hard-coded into the widgetinstaller.dll. It's actually kind of interesting how the widgets are installed. Everything's in a zip file, but there's no command in config.txt to extract the files out to program files. Something is doing it, but I don't know how or when.

EDIT: My phone doesn't have a native 6.5 kernel.
I wanna remind that nevertheless you use your own OEM to build the xip.bin from MSXIPKernel using the mentioned utility - the xip.bin you get IS NOT PORTED. After you generate xip.bin - you should port it to your device as you usually do with any xip.bin. Nk 6.1 (or 6.0) - does not matter.
Hi Can i use xip.bin of build 23519 for build 23518 ?

Yes you can do that without any problems. Actually there's no big difference in files. Xip is not updated so often - only dsm with new ver numbers are different. In the case of 235xxx branch - originally 23515, 23517 and 23518 came out with 23515 xip. All 3 builds are Build 4510 (December 17 2009. 15:53:41). And so called xips 23517 and 23518 is just a hex of 23515.
Xip 23519 appears to be the same as older one so - the rom will boot for sure if you cook xip 23519 - sys 23518 mix.

Farmer Ted is right there are no provxml's for widgets. they are installed by the widgetinstaller. Would be nice if we can modify them, but this work around now works and I have all widgets in it's own folder called MS Widgets.

Why not create your own provxml (supported natively) to move around the shortcuts. It would be cleaner than using mortscript as it involves 3rd party util.

22001 - 5.2.49.1 Jan-14-2010 15:41:29
A build with lower release no. (22001) is the latest build, any insights ?
If this build is a fake, then most of the mysterious build which has been leaked recently are fake too.

which build of manila are you using? and do you have cachefilt.dll in your msxipkernel? if you are using manila with document tab you must have cachefilt.dll in msxipkernel and the reg for it in boot.rgu or it will lock your phone up when the sdcard is in.

The provxml isn't going to do anything if it's executed before the widgetinstaller creates the shortcuts. I don't know what the ordering of the events are, but I suspect that the provxml's are all run first. I wish I knew how the widgetinstaller created the shortcuts, because as far as I can tell, it creates them from nothing, and it would be pretty trick to be able to create all the start menu shortcuts that way.

Hi all,
I've searched a lot without luck... in my rom 6.5.3 28014 the menu "Settings-Personal-Input" is missed.
The problem seem not only a missed shortcuts, in fact I created the shortcuts but they are not working:
Settings>Personal>Input>Input Method = 20#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,8
Settings>Personal>Input>Word Completion = 22#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,8,1
Settings>Personal>Input>Options = 22#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,8,2
Anyway word completion is working!!!!!!
Transcriber package is no present in the rom.... it could be the root cause?
any suggestion?
Thanks in advance!

I have added registry values to my rgu files that my customization script uses to create the shortcuts without having to have them in the windows folder. The only thing I found is somethings look in windows for the shortcut to call up the program. Be careful you do not delete too many. Look at XDA_UC as a similar method posted on the forum.

That doesn't really make sense, because we already saw 22001 here back in August of last year. It was supposed to be from the Sony tree, or that's what we were told at the time. It was a normal 6.5 build, with a smaller titanium scroll bar. Is this "new" 22001 build 6.5 or 6.5.X? Maybe the first was fake.

Native kernel is IMO is a crap if you are going to build a full Rom with Manila, otherwise it works fine with stock Roms.
