these files are wm6.5 raw material & can not be used after download...they have to be used in a rom oven/kitchen to be cooked into a rom...cooking involves many steps & you have to be familiar with the process ...cooking is also phone specific & each oven has to be made for each phone including its drivers and specific files... after someone who is experinced with cooking generate a useable rom, it then can be flashed to the phone

Only if the Radio isn't meant for the device, or it's the Radio From Hell.

If you can get your device security unlocked you have more chance of reverting a radio from hell. But that also allows you to flash Radios from other devices.

Safest way is to stick to the tested radios (don't flash them as soon as they come out, let someone else test ;)) for your device and should be fine.

With 28232 form Caulklin i have some problems with HTC Lockscreen and with dialer if i don't answer to an incoming call,only when i delete the notification all works,otherwise the phone became unstable.

If that much is kept from old OS to fix dialer issues, then you are basically using the same old build. Not much different than patching an old sys to show a new sys number.

From what I experienced and understand you replace OS and Phoneredist from 28014 or a newer build known to have no problems. But VetVito is right its kind of like patching an old sys to be newer. But works for me lol

I've got a problem with my danish ROM... I've found out it's got to do with the lang files, but don't know if it's the EXT or SYS files which cause it.

After flashing the ROM it's booting into the startup screen, the bar fills up a few times, and then it eighter keeps filling it up forever (with the taskbar visible after the first startupscreen), or just launches sense 2.5. I've got no possibility to enter PIN-code, or the other choises from the first startup of the phone after flash... Any help is appreciated!!

Re 28xxx vs 235xx : does anyone notice this behaviour :
When pressing the 'Start' button (bottom left) in 28230, it will switch between the start menu screen and manila, taking you from one to another depending on which screen you were originally in. With build 23541, it always takes you to the start menu screen regardless of where you are.

Ok, not very crucial, but an interesting difference in this common feature. I presonally prefer 23541 overall, but like the start button behaviour from 28230.

About the rayfile downloads, why not to use my UserJS to Opera (if anyone get it working in FF, good for you, I never made it) which allows you to click on "Direct download" for any file? No need for decoding, works every time :)

Weird but sometimes works using the d pad instead of the classic button.

when I press on "My conact card" nothing happens...

Hey has anyone tried to build the 23542 build. I am getting runtime errors on platform builder. I removed all the normal packages from the xip and sys and it crashes everytime on VK. I added all of these back in and still crashes. I have extracted and put together many of the new builds but never had this issue. Am I missing something in this new build. I tried the WVGA posted here and downloaded the full rollup package from XBeta with same problem.
Any help is appreciated.

Nope, The Sys it self.

I noticed that there are some missing packages (Can't remember which) so I copied 23541 to a folder called 23542 adn overwrote the folder with the 23542 sys and worked flawlesly.

I think you can run into issues doing that if you over-write a module with another that has a different number of s00x files, can't you? If the old module has 4 of them, and the new one has 3, then one of those files will stick around. At least, that's what I worry about, so I've never upgraded builds that way before.

I had this happen and it ended up being a cab I was installing through customization. It was not and ext or sys but the new sys did not like this cab for some reason. I was able to install after the ROM was built. I hope this helps.

for those who is interested, it is surely that this COM5 is focused on office 2010 developing. it also seems that by 08.03.2010 it will have final release (at least, desktop version), so in all COM5 builds we are stuck in sys version (since 23533), nothing is developed in os, but office is developing in each new build. that's why these builds still have ugly non-smooth fonts in bottom toolbar (rrrrrr... i hate them) while all other branches have good smoothing (first seen in my favourite WMD branch). so almost all the os parts are outdated but office is very fresh. in 23541 it is built 25.02.2010 so we can say that 23541 is the freshest build available (stop thinking that it is built 08.02.2010! it is built 25.02!). but i recommend to use only office from this build and port it to other branches (for example, 25xxx branch which i personally like) because using old os code which this build has for almost a mounth is not a good idea.

cooked 23105 build and have a font issue (normal but fat font).

for example in dialer the font is too fat.

I have been using them since they released on the test rom with no issues. I have them all in a zip if you want them here at my shared site. They are not cfcéd so if you want to add manila files like different clocks and sliders, you may have to compress them.

cooked 23105 build and have a font issue (normal but fat font).

for example in dialer the font is too fat.

i already searched in os/d0b41563-b345-4444-aa15-986e7c7fff99.rgu

and found the following difference:

Do you have dialer (htc dialer) issues with this build like sometimes not showing an in-call number, displaying the wrong number when you make a call from the call list, sometimes ( lol ) displaying a totally different number than the number of a incall etc etc.

Do you know a fix for this?

EDIT: fixed it. Used cprog.exe from another build. (sorry)

This affects also inesoft dialer that i use.
I can call a different person only after soft reset.And then same again, whatever phone number i dial the phone calls the first number after soft reset!!!

I'm playing with 25006 and finding my HTC dialer has the funky CallerID problem that I've been reading about lately. I haven't seen an actual fix. Is there one?

Has anyone tried using various versions of the HTC Dialer or does it affect all versions? I don't want to spin my wheels tweaking 25006 if it won't work.

I ran both for a bit and I would say 25007 was quicker in my opinion but doesnot have native threaded email and I really prefer the builds with this. Neither seemed unstable for the time I ran them

I haven't noticed a real difference between fastness of the 28232 and the 23542. Same conclusion for the stability.
But, on my phone, with the same kitchen, 23542 consume above 3 mo less of ram than the 28232, and have a better ram behavior in use so 23542 win the game :D

I would ask something about the windows mobile builds, I have seen that in many build rollup there is no xip.bin file inside the archive but instead there are MSXIPKernel and MSXIPKernelLTK folders, so is there any way to do the porting of the xip.bin by using those folder ?

Ouch, I always forget about MSXIPKernel, here ya go, it's taken from FLASH.DIO dumped with xidump.

I haven't myself tested it, I'm on COM2 and fixing Manila 2.1 for best perfomance and look :)

I have been using them since they released on the test rom with no issues. I have them all in a zip if you want them here at my shared site. They are not cfcéd so if you want to add manila files like different clocks and sliders, you may have to compress them.

Hello all,
Today i cooked build 28008 the old one and compared both builds 28008 and 28232 and found that build 28008 consumes 5mb less ram than buidl 28232.

Also, after cooking and flashing rom when i click on comm manager (default one) and camera (the one that came with stock rom) it gives me error saying that it can't be opend because either its not signed... blah balh so any body plz give me a solution plz

Use a later version of manila. They then auto fix position themselves. I use

2.5.20121412.1 and it works perfectly with no position fix in build 23540

I think he means that this 4141 build has only four digits in its "name" whereas the rest of WM branches are labeled with five digit numbers like for example 23105.

I had the identical issue. It is missing a package or 2. Someone in some post before helped me but here is what I did and all worked fine. I just made a copy of my 23541 and I copied and overwrote these folders with the 23542. The missing files were now 23541.

I had a caller id issue with the 23105 build (and some more issues). I copied cprog.exe of the tmous 2.10 dump and now all my issues are gone. Maybe another problem, but anyway...

Quickly go through your EXT one by one, more likely,I bet, the recent ones you played with. They should be in EXT style (i.e eg: app.dat+app.reg and then files inside you have all the files) and not OEM style where you have all files dumped and an initflashfiles.text in it. Simply put you have an OEM style you need to convert to EXT (Use Package rebuilder or manually)

I dont understand a thing,many post behind a guy made a post assuming to have the HD2 Mini Rom and did attch the Phone Canvas.
As we all know Hd2 Mini use WM 6.5.x and i would bet that mister Htc wont make a Phone with dialer problems.

the dialer has virtually the same files as leo
phcanhtc is the obvious difference, but even trying that I get callerid issues,
so either that dialer isn't fixed or its something else that's been changed.

ideally we could do with the ship rom to compare.

I also success dumping this ROM, confirm that the dialer are event older, but the main reason why this rom work is problably because it builded with a 21613 OS, as I know, 21xxx serie don't have any trouble.... I saw several post people wondering how to remove the windows start icon, that also explain how ;o) it's because on 21xxx build, the start icon is on the upper left, we already have some taskbar and patch with the icon and label is removed.

it is possible that the phone canvas/caller ID stuff may have similar needs. Example, the lockscreen stores its info in the OEM reg.. builds from 216xx and 231xx are the only ones that actually look for that special reg entry. the others do not.

Also, are 235xx builds the only builds that come with Office 2k10/ threaded emails? i want to try other builds, but i dont wanna have to rip chunks just for those features.

Yes, the 235XX builds are the only ones that come with threaded e-mail & Office 2010. Office 2010 is actually pretty easy to package & use with other builds, as it's a standalone-type package; it's just the threaded e-mail feature that's more deeply connected to the OS. I know there have been several methods posted in the thread about how to 'port' these features, but I haven't really seen a definitive & specific list that I can use to make a package and that will not cause any side effects.

UPDATE: I just flashed 23106, and it also has threaded e-mails :)

What's curious about the HTC builds (216XX & 231XX) is that the current builds still suffer from the Caller ID bug using older dialers (at least as has been reported here). If the HD Mini lockscreen works correctly with the HTC builds, you'd think the HTC Phone Canvas would be compatible with HTC builds as well. Apparently, MS is doing something in the newer builds that is breaking the full functionality of 'legacy' Phone Canvas packages.

EDIT: I noticed on 23106 that my Phone Canvas font is bolded (only on the large buttons, i.e. "Talk", "Keypad", & "End Call"). I guess that's just another "old dialer" incompatibility.

On the build 23529, the caller ID information is written to the registry here:

HKLM\System\State\Phone\Last Incoming Caller Name
and
HKLM\System\State\Phone\Last Incoming Caller Number


I'm almost sure that the ril layer writes the information to the reg, and the dialer program reads it for display.

I can't remember where the older OS writes these values, but I suspect that only the location has changes with the new builds. Can anyone post the locations where the older OS writes them?

I think I (or someone else) could easily copy the values to the "old" location when the phone rings, and then all the old dialers should work with the new builds.

Thats why XDA is great...you will never find a new Custom Rom with a NON shared new build.........in OTHER sites there are many custom roms with new builds and there arent the counterpart build shared for chefs.

using the SYS/XIP 23131 from Photon and replacing the cprog.exe posted, the caller ID bug is solved...but call history doesn't register the missed calls!!! :(

It works for me on a 23105 build. It has to be said however that I also used the phonecanvas package from the tmous 2.10 leo rom (same rom where I took the cprog.exe from)
