ok im have an issue with sd card on the new build. i may have deleted or just did'nt have the file.. but when i goto file explorer i see folder sd card.. but when i open i get blank screen . i have reset as well as hard reset and still get the same issue. as well as removed and reinserted..

Q:what part of the system controlls the sd card slot as in folder/file dll i use evk to cook and rebuild from scratch on every new build i make...

Look through the latest builds of different branches - the resources became totally identical, gwes - almost identical (except COM5), and so on....
That's the dead line for the developing :)
A lot of decent guys will soon crumble away because of new build addiction when they realise that it's nothing to update in the builds except digits and dates :)
But new numbers and dates possibly will help them to survive - methadone can help if you miss heroin.... :)

This is more true than you think. I've played with a winmo 7 phone and gotten some inside information, he says the entire winmo 6 team (which is completely separate from the winmo 7 team) is pretty much in maintenance mode and there will likely never be any more really significant developments. The SYS will perhaps become more stable but again probably nothing major, gwes.exe in 6.5.x will probably continue to eat up memory forever :/ Even threaded email as we know it won't be in WM7 in the first release because it doesn't conform to their UI standards of having one tap to view an email. They instead emphasize search, so you can search and display email by from, subject, date etc which worked pretty well. It's actually a little scary how far from finished it really is though. If you saw the live demo it was all very scripted, only the very exact features they showed actually worked, if they had done anything outside of what examples they used then the rest of the UI and functionality is still broken and tends to freeze up the phone. For example the dedicated hardware back button doesn't always work right which is frustrating since it's a key part of the functionality, sometimes it just scrolls endlessly through the list of previously opened hubs. The sip looks good but auto-complete xt9 is still barely functional. It's all supposed to be RTM in a few months too so they're totally done adding features, it's all bug fixes now.

I asked him if they pay attention to xda or ppcgeeks at all and he said some of the developers are aware of ppcgeeks and see people doing custom graphics and app "sharing" but they are mostly unaware or don't care about xda and the level of sophistication that goes into rom building. I thought that was very strange. They are much only concerned with using the marketplace to distribute apps. Similar to apple in this approach I suppose.

As far as customizing wm7 goes there will probably be some room for replacing and improving graphics and customizing the layouts of the different "hubs". Possibly it can be "jailbroken" allowing some custom apps but not the fully custom roms with leaked SYS files from Microsoft we have gotten used to.

i'm no expert in any means in software or what not....

but honestly don't count on a port to other devices....i wouldnt doubt a port (if not official) for the HD2 one way or another...

well wm 6.5.x is most likely not going to be recieving any big changes....however we have so many builds out there with good features in each one..

Microsoft is still going to be releasing this 6.5.x on future phones...so which ever version they release (i'm expecting it to be a compilation of everything) we'll be able to get a hold of it and throw it on our device

however i give it about 6 months and we'll slowly start to see a decline in builds and most likely a new build is going to be released while they phase out every other build.

Erm, guys, I ported 23547. I cannot install anything(cabs are just not..launching at all), and, interesting, theme change is not working(well, it works...once, then whatever i do i end up with default 6.1-like look). Everything else seem to be ok, so I am puzzled.

I dont think that people are "rude" here only because they didnt answer @ your questions.....dont get me wrong, but if i have a problem i 1st search in forum for check if someothers have the same problem so im sure that i didnt make soemthing wrong in my kitchen or i miss something......if you search for the word "SD CARD" in "search this thread" you will see that someone has had such a problem many time agò,so im pretty sure that the problem is in your Sd card(maybe corrupted) or something wrong in your kitchen,and we cant help you with this you must check it better even twice.

hi... with the resent builds I've got a problem regarding the phone doesn't show correctly when the screen lock is on... it's like it's not getting drawed on the screen.. If I answer the phone by swiping my finger where I use to, it works like it would if the phone was drawed...

I try to cook on with the 23547 on Blackstone. (I take the rollup Lang. 0407)
Crashes when the small red fonts on startscreen down right apearing.
Then boot again.... and so on.. and so on...
The 23544 run's fine. Also the 23541 and 21892 and further builds.
On both Builds the same software-packets are installed.
I cook with OSKITCHEN 1.25
The MSXIPKernel from 23544 are the same at 23547.
Can someone help me ??

if you want to convert files into modules, you need to use reversemode.exe

recmod.exe is for converting modules into files

you need to find these files StartMenu_GridScene_480x800 and StartMenu_GridScene_800x480 (your screen res may be different) from a build (and i dont know which your are looking at) that had the honeycomb start menu

I don't think this build ever got leaked. I have used every build of 6.5 since the very beginning (21139 I believe) and none of them have ever had the notification counter on the start menu or that nice of a honeycomb effect.

And the bubbles can be completely removed too? and the pictures can be replaced with all text? I thought that was an HTC build thing, but I'm using 23547 right now (see screenshot).

Of course, now I can't close apps with AMeBa. Maybe I'll just bring the "Close" button back . . .

As a side note by the above found "hack" to hide the start button: with this registry setting the buttons on the 213639 build are displayed normally. No need no more to substitute the commctrl.dll of an earlier build.

I have tried to search for some cabs around internet but I almost find only cabs that delete the honeycomb grid not the contrary...Also I have found one cab that enable it but it hasn't the disappearing effect of this screenshot, all the hexagon are costant and appears at once....

The notifications might be done through editing the .cpr files for the start menu. I will hunt around a bit and test. If you find a ROM that has it link me to it, I will dump it and get the .xml coding from the .cpr and if it works will post all resolutions. It also might be some registry setting. Who knows? lol

Also some more infor: Even though wm 6.5 is complete and finalised i visited chinese windows mobile site some few months ago and they were showing that screenshot in there wm phones (final one), i uanble to surf through chinese windows mobile site but if someone surfs please findout which mob has that then may be we can have a dump of that particular rom.

Indeed that start menu is much much older still it looks so sweet that the current one.

This is what I don't understand about s.o.d.: I've used lots of builds that give other users s.o.d., but I've never expienced it myself. So I have trouble saying that it's just an issue related to the build roll-ups. I've used mostly Da_G's rollups, but am now using Alexx's 23547 without any issues. I stay away from as much HTC stuff as I can, though, and wouldn't go near Sense with a 10 foot pole. I suspect that it's more than just the roll-ups that cause the issue (obviously, as I don't have the problem). I also use EVK; maybe using another kitchen or build tools causes the problem.

These were released in very early betas. See here for the vga versions. This should lead you in the right direction. I know the orifinal files were pulled from the betas.

Apologies if this was already asked/answered, searching the thread produced no results.

I have been having an issue with my ROMs lately where every time it boots, I get an error popup saying that the "device is unable to determine my country." If I click OK, it takes me into CDMA settings, but the location dropdown is blank. Tapping 'Done' will return me to the Today screen, and everything appears to work OK, except for the VZW Start Page in Opera, but it is very annoying and preventing me from releasing any new ROMs.

Currently running 23529, but I had the issue with 23518 also. Official VZW 6.5 ROM as OEM base. Any insight appreciated.

Guys I am haveing a problems with WindowsLive(and msn) and latest 235xx and 28xxx
builds.

If I select from messaging that I want to setup WindowsLive account I eneter my username and pass, press next and when it says click to continue to download mail nothing happens it just returns me back to messaging.
If I go to Windows Live directly it opens WindowsLive but when I press on tap to sign in nothing happens!?

Any idea what is wrong?

The lockscreen on my 2 ROMs doesn't seem complete...when I have a missed call or new SMS, the lockscreen doesn't show the extra sliders to take me to the call history or messaging tab...it only shows a number on the main slider icon.

I have the LockScreenAppLauncher package enabled but it doesn't seem to do anything?

Anyone know why the notification sliders don't appear? :confused:

is everyone sure that this is a start menu and not a home screen? this may be (and i am taking a wild stab in the dark at this) an early version of titanium. which would explain notifications next to key functions

also... why would you have a soft key for locking on your start menu? not very practical, but on the home screen it would seem more logical

No, the is for sure the start menu. And i'm guessing it's a mock up and it never existed. Like I said earlier, I have used every single leaked build of 6.5 since the very first one, which was 21139, and none have ever had a honeycomb like that or the counters for notifications.

I think you could use lang pack from any COM3.
All of the 231XX i've cook have the 040C lang pack of the 23092 from monkeybape and it works.

is everyone sure that this is a start menu and not a home screen? this may be (and i am taking a wild stab in the dark at this) an early version of titanium. which would explain notifications next to key functions

also... why would you have a soft key for locking on your start menu? not very practical, but on the home screen it would seem more logical

Offcourse that is a start menu and about ur lock screen thought then let me tell u that lock screen softkey is present in wm 6.5, 6.5.1 and 6.5.3 so its not a homescreen or ui its simply start menu from a older build ....

Where ever you see phone and phone redist (two packages in sys) replace it and everything works like charm i cooked mega dialer and it works without any prob. If your u using vk that is ur sys is in vk format then go through every folder of 0409 an common where ever u see that file replace. :)

- copy the new files (overwrite) of MSXIPKERNEL and MSXIPKERNELLTK of the build in the same-named folder of 'out' (careful for the first, dll go into the MSXIPKERNEL folder of 'modules', and the file into the 'files' one :) )
- undo
- build xip_out.bin
- rename xip-out.bin into xip.bin
it's done ! :)

As i say, it's only works with a old xip.bin of the same branch , i've never could done a 24XXX build because of that :)

The notifications might be done through editing the .cpr files for the start menu. I will hunt around a bit and test. If you find a ROM that has it link me to it, I will dump it and get the .xml coding from the .cpr and if it works will post all resolutions. It also might be some registry setting. Who knows? lol

I have been having an issue with my ROMs lately where every time it boots, I get an error popup saying that the "device is unable to determine my country." If I click OK, it takes me into CDMA settings, but the location dropdown is blank. Tapping 'Done' will return me to the Today screen, and everything appears to work OK, except for the VZW Start Page in Opera, but it is very annoying and preventing me from releasing any new ROMs.

Currently running 23529, but I had the issue with 23518 also. Official VZW 6.5 ROM as OEM base. Any insight appreciated.

Are you using ADC or the HTC Connection Setup? I quit using the ADC package and just use the HTC connection setup now. Don't know if that will help you or not.

Using ADC, I never had any problems but now with the HTC Connection Setup, it doesn't get my time zone correctly, I have to reset it each time. Could be the same with the location, if you're not using ADC, you might try it instead.

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but will these packages work with a cdma dialer?

I would be using PACKAGE_RHODIUM_S2_Phone_Canvas_Enhancement_Fix_4_ 2_51720111829_0 , as I use the rhodium dialer in my Sprint Build.
These packages contain only phcanhtc.dll and phcanrc.dll (or only phcanhtc.dll) (HEX edited and resources edited). If there is a such a version you use, it can be used.

Are you using ADC or the HTC Connection Setup? I quit using the ADC package and just use the HTC connection setup now. Don't know if that will help you or not.

Using ADC, I never had any problems but now with the HTC Connection Setup, it doesn't get my time zone correctly, I have to reset it each time. Could be the same with the location, if you're not using ADC, you might try it instead.

The ROM is for the CDMA Touch Pro2, so I am not using and data configuration programs. I'm sure it is related to a missing package since the stock ROM does not have the issue, but I cannot figure out which one.

I've got a strange problem with the two latest builds in com5 23548 ans 23547.. After some time of use the screen suddenly "jumps" 4 mm up, and won't get back in position before I take a soft reset... If I don't SR, the screen jumps further up after another 5-10 minutes playing with the phone...

Any solutions?

are you using any position fixes? lastest versions of sense dont need the position fix like older version of manila did

You just need to edit your registry to get rid of that message. Search the .rgu inside \common\shell for "beta" and delete those lines. You can also search this thread to find the exact location in registry (or find in rgu) and rgu name.

VK kitchen already patches the timebomb....

the beta message is literally just text inside the registry

forget where but all u need to do is delete that from the registry and it'll be all set.

You just need to edit your registry to get rid of that message. Search the .rgu inside \common\shell for "beta" and delete those lines. You can also search this thread to find the exact location in registry (or find in rgu) and rgu name.

As mentioned above, EVK takes care of time bomb. Se the RGU in SYS/BUILD/SHARED/COMMON/Shell. Search for beta and remove the reg. Done! :)

screen position (incoming call and wifi-network selection at first boot).
i already use your fixed cuihandler file for menu enhancment fix.

does anyone know how to 6.5.X-position fix them?

The device also doesn't show the ram used by the radios, bootloader, and background stuff run by the OS and kernel. You have 288 MB of ram, though, but there's not much point in showing all the ram when a lot of it isn't user available.

What exactly does this fix? Just the scrollbar or the CallerID issues with the later builds? I can hex edit my own scrollbar fix... but I'm looking for a CallerID fix.
