Anyone got the problem of not being able to set the time in 23549. Mine is showing 19/02/2010 and will not change, either through Syncrotime or through setting it manually

i delete all of the keys from the .rgu that pertain to device beta and i do not have this problem.

Bugger, 15 minutes wasted! It has been happening on the newer builds every time for me, I go back and build a 23541 though and all is fine... Really wish I could work out what is causing it

hi guys, wondering if anyone can assist in debugging a problem with htc album. no matter which one i use it loads up and then crashes out after a few seconds. leo, tachi and diamond ones all run and load but they seem to dump out.

i thought it may have been some path tweaks in my oem files but i reverted and still no luck.

also, a side note, i added the xmllite and xna framework packages from the win pho 7 dump, anyone have any idea how we could test xna code under winmo 6.5.5? could be interesting ;)

Alexx, TomCodon did put out a complete 23549 rollup on htcpedia.
he also put the .dio files there.
All I did was getting the modules from that specific rollup because people asked for it.
Somehow it feels that you think I want to decieve people whith fake builds but that's definitly not true :(

As far as I know you can use EVK to make modules from the files as with the right native kernel it can give you some advantages in rom speed.
But if you use modules with the wrong NK you can have some serieus memory problems.
But alexx is right: the files and modules should normally be the same in a rollup.

If I'm wrong please let me know...

It's not against the law or anything to convert files to modules. It takes maybe two minutes to convert all three of the file packages to modules with reversemod.exe.

SMS won't load up, not getting an error either to say whats wrong with it, HTC Messaging isn't work either, tried multi version from regular diamond, tachi and leo. However MMS does work, but i am unable to open SMS to send let alone type one out. I also tried replacing the tmail.exe seeing if it would help for the normal windows mobile sms but no luck, maybe someone here can help me?

There's maybe no overt changes as such but I find the way the os functions as a whole to be much more stable, faster and less laggy. Messaging has lost some of the bugs too, which is a relief .

From 45 to 49 - gwes, shell32, aygshell, commctrl and many changes if you check in hex (content, not size). No changes only in DPI and Lang.

Would be faster just to hex edit the file myself. Would anyone kindly provide the hex string that needs to be replaced and the string to replace it with. I just spent an hour searching and all I keep finding is the 6.1 patch and not for 6.5.

I know that you can use the EVK to do this but I just want to know how to do it manually. I used to do this with 6.1 and all I need for 6.5 is the new location of the time bomb and the hex string to remove it. I like to do things manually sometimes ;)

i have both 2 and 3.5 installed
install again ?

and do you also get error such as : Found module duplicate on module ( even though there is no module duplicate
and then suddenly a .net error and build stops..

From 45 to 49 - gwes, shell32, aygshell, commctrl and many changes if you check in hex (content, not size). No changes only in DPI and Lang.
So - better to try the new one....

if non of that do the trick you can chack your build_rom.bat go for the first "if error go to" line and write REM (+ space)
Ervius didnt do that, and we must to make it jijiji the execute platform upperline in the .bat file already have a REM*******

Okay. I've download the 23549 roll-up, and after sorting everything manually into the correct folders (osKitchen 1.25), I can't seem to get a booting ROM for the Touch Diamond. I haven't tried my HD2, yet, and I'm probably not going to until I can at least get it to work on the Diamond.

The point of the post? What have I done wrong, or continue to do wrong? I only seem to be able to get working, booting ROMs when I use the SYS' that's already packaged from the osKitchen thread. Any other SYS that I download and manually sort, just doesn't work in some way or another.

Did you "recmod" at least your browsing folders in this new SYS ? And are you sure you'te telling the kitchen to build for a 6.1 kernel ? (unless of course you're using the unstable 6.5 kernel for the Diamond floating outthere).

Yea, I did that but I lose the Showcase functionality that way.

Some devices have a button predefined for Voice Dialer, eg O2 Atom Life (press and hold volume down). However I find most HTC's device has no such predefined button because of limited buttons offered.

aqll due respect to the oskitchen creator but i have never had any luck with it. personally the visual kitchen works best with rollup sorted by teh pengiun dump sorter. using this sorter i have been able to build successful roms.

I can assure you there is nothing wrong with this kitchen. I use it all the time now. It is something you are or not doing. The best thing is to ask in the kitchen thread and myself or someone else will help you.

EDIT: The best way to make sure your new sys gets properly sorted is to put all your sys packages in one folder including you MSXIPKernel and use the import sys function in the kitchen. You can also use the dump rollup sorter to sort out your lang, dpi, and resh into one folder first before importing from a big rollup.

Just make sure that the packages that you've included do not have files/modules overwritting each other especially the one in OEM. Either delete the one in OEM or the one in your EXT.

@Madnish-I had my kitchen crash like that recently. The sys package GPSID caused it. I have no idea why-it started with more recent builds, so I exclude it now.

With regards to reg keys not parsing, use dotfred's to export reg keys. I get that error if I use total commander or ceregeditor. It's usually a path error. Dotfred's gets the number of slashes in the path correct (sometimes five in a row), but the others eff it up.

I would suggest you move everything out from EXT and try building the rom. If it works correctly, then try moving in the packages one by one until you found the problem. And by the way, move all the manila packages in first.

I had this happen before, the problem was in the ext packages. I never figured out exactly which one was the culprit, but after rebuilding everything was back up and running.

Disabling cachefilt does this. I also had some issues w/ today screen refreshes. As far as I could tell, the only thing disabling it improved was benchmarks (by a ton). But the device wasn't actually faster and didn't work better for me. Benchmarks mislead and can be tricked, imo.

As said cachefilt.dll will definitely cause this. Check your boot.rgu and see if you change the order or removed the entry. And of course make sure you have it in MSXIPKernel.

I've got a weird problem with my own cooked rom:
If I use Manila, and go to Settings tab -> try to go to 'all settings', it shows my Connections-screen (with My ISP on it etc).
Now I cannot reach the rest of the Settings.
Can somebody help me?

EDIT: I fixed the error message (had a / instead of \ in the path of a file in a provxml). But the customisation progress bar keeps looping :(

I've noticed that when dumping the DIO file, net.cf use to be packed in a different folder than Common, so we need to look around and see if it's the only one on the wrong position

Funny that I've cooked 21896, but not flashed yet, now I went back and net.cf was not there

Thanks...someone posted the solution a few posts up. NetCF is missing from the SYS. Turns out extrcting DIO fil puts NetCF in the wrong place.

xidump isn't a dump sorter, it takes imgsf.bin (and other files) and converts to files/packages. I usually look in all the folders when running xidump, and did notice that .net cf was indeed in OEM (all by itself) instead of SYS --weird.

The dump sorter has never failed me though. The only weird thing it does sometimes is put some oem packages in sys>shared>common.

Everal Phone Canvas Fix V2 for all Resolutions

Hello World,

with this Fix you have the oppinion to run the latest
phone canvas edition on the newest build

this fix works perfekt with build 23102

now i present version 2 of my fix

changelog version 2 fix:
source: build 28014

- no dpi infos needed (now for all windows mobile devices, no resolution restrict anymore)
- no reg infos needed
- no wma or mid files

with this fix:
- phone canvas shows incoming dial information
- phone canvas display correct contact-information

problems occur sometimes:
- cprog.exe broken sometime, only solution: soft-reset

how to install this fix:
1. install version of phone canvas (tested with leo v4.2, works perfect)
2. end "cprog.exe" with fdc soft taskmanager
3. install "everal phone canvas fix 28014 v2.cab"

Does anyone knows how to make the taskbar power icon open the power applet when pressed? I don't have this working in the latest COM2 builds, but I'm almost sure it worked before. Pressing taskbar power icon doesn't do anything.

Coz i downloaded one provided by alexx (mirrored) and cooked a qvga rom but it didnt booted.

Further i havent modified the sys just cooked with as it is. Do i have to mod anything.?

I've been absent from the FLASHING life, lol , for a while now and i decided to come back; i gave 23549 VGA a tried yesterday, from DIO. i have a diamond CDMA and i couldn't get the diamond to boot. my senses tell me there is something wrong with the XIP, i was using xiporter from calkulin's kitchen to get a bootable xip for this build (i've use it before with no issues), i just couldn't get the damn thing to boot, i had to go back to 28009 build that i created it back in December 2010. do you guys recommend me to move to the new visual kitchen or stay with the old kitchen with buildos? how difficult is it to learn the new kitchen format? is there any good tutorials for it and on how to manually dump xip from images.

thanks a lot, i don't expect my post to be answered but will appreciate any suggestions specially for chefs that cooks for the diamond cdma.

PS. is there a native 6.5 kernel for cdma diamond yet??

21897 is working fine.

Compare a stock sys with the one you are cooking. Check that you have the same "things" in it.

If you just took this one as is, you would be missing the ".ROM" folder for example.

Take the .ROM folder from a SYS that works for you.

Not sure what you are cooking for, but for me with Leo, I had to remove..

The only one I use is ppgprov; it's just a provxml, and it looks like it's just for sending sms internationally. I'd say just leave it in, you're not saving anything by excluding it. The perf ones are debugging tools; I tried one of them once for the helluvit, but you need some tools to read the dump files, and I could never find them online, so they're pretty worthless. And if you run them for long, they build up a huge file (and slow down the device to a crawl). I've never used the other two; don't know what they do, but you shouldn't need them.

Try these registry entries or making an EXT with this. This was in the rgu in my OEMMISC folder in OEM.

About 21897 - 6.1 user point of view - works fine, but it is not daemon of speed(slightly disappointing, imho) with 6.5 tsks.

That build is quite fast(well, ok it's MUCH faster, even faster than regular, optimized 6.1) while using 6.1 tsk and with disabled layeredwindows(that makes waitcursor FUGLY, so resedit may be needed), though.

upd: i realized, that disabling layered windows and skipping transparencies is changing 218xx builds to good 6.1(speed gain is clearly visible, and that annoying "refresh" effect is gone. Also, heavyduty apps are faster).
Memory aspect is quite important too - similar amount like in 6.1, that's nice(cutout titanium and m$startmenu, of coz).
Still - there are advantages over 6.1 in such case - resizeable dir_tree, and others.
So, i can recommend 218xx builds for bored 6.1 cooks(some work and it is as good as 6.1).

all the versions of 23549 i download are showing 23548... is yours showing 23549?
