Ok, so you're just replacing the images. Hum, I don't know. Do you have the ClissicBlue TSK. Maybe there's something wrong in there. I made my own Theme & it's working fine, so I have no clue atm. Maybe that TSK you have can shead some light on it for me lol. & if not, I'll just make the Theme for you.

What version of Task Manager are you using. This is tested on 2.1.35096.200.

you can change language of the rom by replacing all 0409 with 0XXX folders of your languages
Also replace the OEMLANG_0409 to OEMLANG_0XXX( come from a rom with that language or make it yourself)
In WinMo initflashfiles.dat contain localized path for startmenu so make sure you edit it correctly or some icons won't show up
also replace WinCENLS_WWE with proper nls folder (only if your language is non-Latin like Chinese/Japanese .etc)

For those who, like me, are using 23028 and hate to have all those programs open and will not use HTC Task Manager because is wrecks the new pop-up bar, try Quick Menu 2.8. Search xda or Google and you will find the free program. It lets you close programs (really close them) by hitting the “OK” key. On my Fuze that is the arrow or back button above the end call button

You can use the handy Quick Menu by tapping the Windows logo in the top left corner. You can still get to WM 6.5 Start page by tapping the word “Start”. The pop-up bar comes up undamaged when you hit the task bar.

those of you porting to htc devices should check your oemdrivers rgu. remove any font/size/etc keys. when you remove them from OEM, you allow the ms default to shine thru.. i am not using 23022+ day to day, but these do make a difference in dialog boxes, menus, lists, etc in 6.5.

examples from dumped cdma raphael oemdrivers:

This one has really been annoying me too ... I Just haven't had time to experiment with all the different numeric values (which I assume denote different combinations of flash/vibe/sound) it has in the notifications section of the registry :(

It's no problem. I like helping others & been loosing momentum making the next Version of NeoTitanium (So much code to edit can make you not want to do it lol). So taking a few minute to do something simple compared to that is thankful. All I need is your original ClassicBlue TSK. I have one, but accidentally change a couple color codes in the registry while making my theme. I already have all the images & renamed them. Or, just give me the Color Registry for your theme.

I dont cook but ive been following this thread closely, especially after the "convert everything to modules"... is that helping battery life at all? (better memory management). Thats my biggest gripe for all things 6.5, I havent found near the battery life as 6.1.

Oh, sorry, what I was talking about is Task manager not working. It's through Task Manager that you have that option, which as I just tested, does not work. Must be because the "X" button has been moved. I'll see if I can find the registry for that.

Ok googled a bit & from what I can tell is HTC Task Manager must be stealing the focus from the Programs "Form" of where the "X" Button is. Being that the Button is no longer there, it can not steal that function anymore. Untill we see HTC Update the software, I doubt it will be handled. The only other choice is if some is really good with HEX Editing or is Comfident they can modified the existing Version to relocate this. Quick menu does work, because it works with aygshell.dll, the dll that controls the "X" Button Event.

or use a discretix drm pkg and the corresponding DRMfilter entry in boot.rgu

personally I prefer discretix to lockstream, seems to work a bit better.

Same here. I'm thinking it's something to do with my OEM but it only happens with all the builds since 23016.

edit: hmm... it only happens in the 0409 build... I tried making a 0419 build and it worked just fine. I also tried making a 0804 build and I THINK it worked partially.

yep thats the corruption from 23022 right now the most stable com3 build with the new ui would be 23031 its alright

I've used that connectionsetup build for the pass few builds and had no problem.
I let the SD Config and customization work and after the device reset itself,
the connectionsetup will show up again.

Yes, I've had the same issue since 23016. I think it's the OEM, though, I just don't know what changed in the new builds to cause the issue with the OEMs.

I too had this same problem way too long but it was due to using of IE5. :D

Now I'm using the one comes ( I guess its IE6 ) with the source and no problems with SMS.

no, he had removed the webview package from SYS and thats why SMS/messaging wasn't working.

Which device? Are you using WinMo 6.5 native kernel if available for your device?

If you aren't using WinMo 6.5 native kernel, then your present native kernel doesn't support more modules so you will have to convert some modules to files. This is my thinking but there may be other reasons too. I think joojoobee666 will provide you better info about which modules should/can be converted to files.

just an idea : in settings / connections / usb to PC, you have Active Sync and a small checkbox just under...I had to uncheck this to make working on vista (and checked for XP)

If you had a newer device you must to have a folder in oem called operatorpkg... inside is the SD Autorun... kill it! you will get the screen of the connwizard on boots... cause if you let the sd autorun there the connection wizard cant shows again, maybe editing the initflashfile to add to cannections a LNK to the conn wizard in windows... to launch it when ever you want witouth kill the sdautorun... since i become a chef i never use SDautorun because of try many of the cabs sepparately... hehehe.

WMDC is crashing on my system when I attempt to sync bookmarks. (I actually have a G1 as my main phone, but I make kitchens for the Herald community.) Oh, and ervius based kitchens work beautifully in Win7.

Ok, first, your Pivot background was 480x32. It is supposed to be 240x32 for QVGA. Also, make sure your PNG's are in RGB 8 Bit Mode. I updated that image in the CAB. Install CAB, Select Mirion1 Theme from Today Settings, & Soft Reset. When done it should look like this;

NOTE: It seems changing Themes can take a while or be tricky. I had to reselect the theme a few time after soft reseting to get everything to show. So, if it doesn't work first try, try again. Refreshing CHome, seems to help

EDIT: Seems like it just takes forever to update the Theme. Wait a couple minutes after selecting your theme. Then, Soft Reset, maybe that'll work lol. These new themes sure do seem tempermental.

Yea, I downloaded a few older 6.5 builds from him and they were always recmodded. ^_^ I should just download it from him after he recmods whatever Da_G (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=577248) releases. ^_^

oh right, i forgot to mention that those initflashfiles.dat do not contain any oem components. one particular oem component present in there on nearly all htc devices is a shortcut to checkautorun in \startup, copy that from your old initflashfiles.dat, or place it in an app.dat

I have to rebuild using this updated initflashfiles.dat thing. When I flash my phone it boot and ready to use, I think SDAutorun is not starting but I have a small question then : what is it supposed to do ? because all my applications & tweaks (from packages) are ok on the phone so I wonder what sdautorun does.... sorry for this noob question :rolleyes:

Also, depending on the device, the build of autorun installed on the OEM might not be compatible with wm6.5. You may need a newer version.

In the end I did actually sit down and work out the various permutations of those values :rolleyes:

So, until MSFT realise their mistake, I have written this little Mort app to allow us to easily toggle the Vibrate option for Text, SMS & MMS notifications (see attached).

I have written it to be aware of whatever the current settings are for Sound / Flash / Display / Vibrate, and then give you option to toggle Vibrate ON/OFF.

If you download and are using the initflashfiles.dat that Da_G posted a few pages back, it does not have all of the file to make the customization run.

I had the same problem and realized that it was because I had downloaded the updated initflashfiles.dat file. I just went to the end of my old file and found out where the new file left off and then copied the rest of the old file into the new file.

Works fine now.

i was about to post an issue with activesync, however i've determined that google mobile sync is currently down. no fault of 23031 :D

everything else on 23031 seems pretty smooth. some funky rendering in pocket ie (weird font sizes there too)...

you can skin them to pretty them up, but you're pretty much stuck with the taller (70px) softkey bar. i was in your same boat at first, but then i decided to suck it up and just go with it... you adapt to it.

I agree with all of the sentiments towards 23031. I went from 23028 to it, and it seems that all of the weird behavior with apps crashing and throwing a .net Framework error. I am still using my original InitFlashFiles.dat file.

It seems as if the scroll bar is because the ROM is expecting a WVGA Welcomehead image. The scroll bar never pops up again after that very first time.

It does look nice, but it looks more like a mix of android, htc and wm6.x. It seems weird to me that it would have tf3d, much more that it is the old one. Another thing that seems weird is the "4 bubble". That looks like something of htc's, but I would not expect them to have had a chance at skinning it. Last one I think top and bottom bar are kinda out of sync, that's not nice! Tiny gray topbar, big black bottombar, 12

Use OEMXipKernel from your device. IE: use an older version. I usually just copy the entire folder named (for example) "21028" found under ROM\Raphael\, Then rename it to new build number and copy back to ROM/Raphael(replace Raphael with your device name). For MSXIPKernel just do the same with an older build folder found under ROM\Shared. Then replace the MSXIPKernel folder(found inside of folder with build #) with new one.

Had the same problem you experienced on my Titan running 23028 and I couldn't figure it out. I could use the D-pad to scroll down to options that weren't visibile, but without being able to see it, I wasn't sure how many presses of the D-pad would get me where I wanted to go.

Quite by accident, I figured out a way to get the option to show up. I'd scroll down to the bottom of the scroll bar in landscape mode (after sliding the keyboard open), then slide back closed so it switches to portrait and I could see the options that were hidden. Make your changes before you touch the scroll bar again, though. As soon as you touch the scroll bar, the screen jumps and the options are hidden again.

Ok, I noticed what's going on with those Broken Themes with Gray Backgrounds. They are missing a lot of white entries in the following registries of the TSK's. First set is correct, second set is a Broken Theme example.

EDIT: Ok, the Themes getting the Gray background are indeed broken. The Above is the correct Registry for no grey Background. Below is the example of a broken theme. Notice it's missing a ton of "White" Entries when compared to the above.

You can also try deleting BaseColor3="ffffff00" as these Grey colors are most likely coming from it.

Also, HKLM:System\GWE , DefSysColor has Gray values.

Maybe you are missing images or they are the wrong sizes. Attached the Buttons from my skinned dialer for testing. Copy these into \Windows & see if they at least load right. If so, than you know where to start & compare you original Buttons images to these.

Yep, visual kitchen caught it and fixed it on my initial run through yesterday, and I verified myself before I posted that the the shell32.exe in my temp\dump that was left from the last 23031 rom build didn't have the timebomb bytes in it. So I dunno what happened...I'm trying again.

Well from the files I can certainly agree with Start in SoftKey Bar. Also looks like they are working on making the whole SoftKey Bar use Icons instead of text. There's Images for Start/Contacts/Delete/Edit/"X"/Home/Lock/Menu/NavBack/NavFwd/New/"OK"/Phone. These are all linked to the Themes via Registry.

If you're given the SYS that hasn't been organized for Ervius's VK:
Create a new folder in SYS folder with new build number
Copy all packages into similar structure that's there for the older builds in that kitchen

For XIP:
If given MSXIPKernel:
Create folder of new build in ROM with build number and copy MSXIPKernel into that
In the Diamond folder in ROM and copy the older build folder and paste it the same place. Then rename the copied folder to the new build number

If given xip.bin:
Dump xip.bin using dumpxip.bat in the Tools folder and then click and drag each dsm onto the packagebuilder that's in the IMGFS folder
Then do the same as the MSXIPKernel instructions above

That's all you need mostly! Is your Dump xip 6.5? If so, then you probably dont need anything esle. If it is 6.1 then you might need some more device specific stuff...

I have that issue in 23022-23031 releases. It can be fixed only partly by adding that to the registry:

But it's not 100% solution - the fonts of custom plugins are a bit distorted but not so ugly as without that addition..... The problem is definitely in shell32.exe. 23403 and 23601 does not have that issue because of the old-fashioned shell (old-fashioned means like in 23017 :) ) I did not try 23033 yet but I think the benefit of the colored titlebar is reversed by that strange Titanium fonts behaviour.

All dpi are normally taken from you :) and they fit.... anyway, I will continue my research.... The point is that I'm not the only one who got that issue... Maybe the device I use is too old.... now manila needs to be shifted a lil bit up. so does the taskmanager.
also resco explorer is still cutting.
i missed the phone canvas while cooking so will cook again and post its pictures. hope atlest it stays aligned.

Resolved the earlier problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4375973&postcount=1656) with 0413 phone screen. Seems that in the 240x320 resource (tapres.dll.0413.mui) some buttons where deleted. I edited tapres to have all buttons. Now it looks OK.

Here is a package that I use to do it. Just make sure you put it so it will be one of the last things that runs in the kitchen, such as a folder called zzRedirectCancel or something like that.

i have added rcdata to my shellres but it shows default icons.
and in shellres the rcdata shows only numbers. then how to add icons to it?

replace RCDATA with Restorator

Just some brief feedback on 23034:

LOVING IT! It has a few bugs, but I'm totally in love with the small top taskbar and large bottom bar. Moving the start button down to the bottom was a brilliant idea! This particular build has a few bugs and issues, however, I'm really looking forward to future similar builds with these bugs fixed. I'm sure it'll all fall into place in time.

Looks like an unknown icon is in the wrong place ( Screen00.jpg ). Has anyone noticed this? if so any solutions?
Edit: after going to sleep mode and waking up the device, the bottom bar appears in the lockscreen. :( WHAT THE HELL!


Also, is it possible to move the ezinput a lil upper coz it has covered a few pix... of bottom bar ( Screen01.jpg ). :o
