Did you read any of Da_G's posts on the first page? You may want to give that a shot.

The only thing that helped me get it all straight in my head was to sit down and go through all the SYS files one by one. Open up all the files you can and poke around. See what's what and what does what and where what is, etc... Fully understanding it all is not something that can be achieved in one sitting.

I've downloaded a numbers of kitchen trying to learn how to cook a rom, however when i start the Visual Kitchen ERVIUS its asking for the .ERV file. and none of the kitchen I downloaded have that file. I've looked inside the folder Tools\RomSaved but nothing in there. How do I use the kitchen when I can even load it into the kitchen?

It's been almost 2 years since I used visual kitchen, but, if I recall, the .erv file is your base settings file.

Anyway, the thread for that kitchen can be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420). Your questions is better asked there. Also, the Chef Central forum is really the best place to find resources for learning to cook. This thread is really just to discuss availability of new builds, etc.

I've been trying to use the 23563 build that Sharkie posted up HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9772459&postcount=16231) in OSKitchen (I gave up on Ervius, at least for now) but it keeps crashing during the Platform Rebuilder. I noticed that when I was copying over the files into the kitchen that it didn't have all the things I normally found after porting in an official rom (like the OEM packages) anyone know if that is why it keep crashing? (I mean I know the kitchen works, I can port in official roms and mess with them just fine making a rom each time, but when trying to port in this one is when it crashes)

PRB will crash sometimes when you have duplicate modules; check the build log, and see if it gives you a clue.

Edit: I just remembered what kills PRB everytime: empty folders and bad folder structures. If you have a package with a sub-folder in \files, it crashes every time.

"send" or "start" ? If it's "start" some of your .cpr files are missing.

Found another issue, I can't see the incoming number.
The start menu works fine, only the send button has problem.
I use the Da_G 23563 Rollup-All-Pkgs. Who can help me about it?

What is the send button? Are you talking about the actual hardware button, or something else? If it's a shortcut, check the path.

This should fix your caller id not showing. Make sure you put it in AFTER all your phone canvas stuff in your kitchen. I think we're all a bit confused on what you mean by a send button in the start menu. I don't have a "send" button in my start menu...

you mean... the send icon in the softkeybar... tell us wich build are you using the icons are in some ways related to the regs of the themes check if you use the same theme scheme for builds 6.5 or 6.5.x ok? then check if you are using anothe rtheme ;)

You can not just "put" downloaded rollup to your phone.
This zip is for those who is able to cook roms.... So as the whole Chief Central is for rom developers - not for rom users.

Thanks.So, were you able to get the osKitchen working? Or, are you using osbuilder?

Either way, you can use the ROM posted and dump it. Then, you will have all the SYS parts for your kitchen. That's what I'd do anyways.

So I started OS Builder kitchen and looks progressing... but still have some issues that I posted in OS Kitchen thread and no help here too :confused:

Yes I did exactly how you suggested. Grabbed the stock ROM of 6.0 and extracted in kitchen and trying to Build that before I integrate with 6.1. So I am stock here and looking for some help with OS Builder :confused:

Man, you are confusing me, lol. You have OS Builder questions, so you ask them in the OS Kitchen thread; you have OS Kitchen questions, and you ask them in the OS Builder thread; you have 6.1 questions, so you ask them in the 6.5 thread. Um, why not ask them in the most appropriate thread? There are a lot of people using OS Builder now, so if you're having issues getting started, just ask away in that thread. You'll get it figured out quicker that way. I think. :D

I think it's my fault that it got off track. :o I asked you about the Kitchen issues because I knew you were having issues with osKitchen and were trying osBuilder.

Hi all

I am back after an extensive break and am trying to build a 29019 ROM and am having issues when it is running the customizations. I don't have the same problem when I build a 21911 or 23569 ROM.

The error is...

Run XML
\WINDOWS\Menu_Operation.xml
Code:0x80004005

If I remove that from this customization, then it sticks with an error trying to install a cab.

Anyone got any idea? The only difference between the builds is the SYS and XIP and it only seems to happen on COM3 builds.

I'm pretty sure the Mega is the same thing as the Touch 2. I would start looking in the ROM development forum here for that device. The Touch 2 forums can be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=536).

HTC Mega isn't the samething as the Touch 2, Its the Code Name of Touch 2. Both aren't different a devices! :)

I´m cooking my 2 WM 6.5 rom (28011 based) traduced to spanish for my ipaq 914 (Sable) and I´ve a problem with two screens translates on menu. Look at the screenshots and explain my case:

In the Bluetooth menu, there are 6 screens, and 3 are traduced and 3 not:

When I call, the pop up thats appears isn´t translate:

OEMDRIVERS can be got by unpacking an official NBH Rom file using osKitchen import function as far as I remember !
Regarding MSXIPKERNEL I do assume that there are provided with a roll-up.
What WM Build are you using ?

I have T830 and language is English USA (0409).

1. Downloaded osKitchen Zero;
2. Imported WM5 ROM;
3. Imported WM6.5.5 23563 build;

All works fine, but I can't choose Locale. 0409 folder with all in it placed in the right direction, but I CAN'T CHOOSE LOCALE!!! Why???
