I'm thinking of getting a pet for my apartment, but I'm not sure what to get - I don't want a Dog or Cat because I wont be there most of the day as this will be unfair but i'm open for suggestions.

A URON!!!!!

see this vid

are nice pets, funny and dont need anykind of special and large bed... they only needs a basket hanging on the wall or hanging from the top but with a rope to the floor.

dont eats too much and are clean!... a lil expensive... less than a finest dog.

HAHAHAHA a sheep!!!???

I think its better to have sheeps as chairs... not as pets in a tiny appartment.

well im in a 2 bedroom apt with my girl and our 3 yr old daughter
we have a hamster and a fish tank with some fresh water fish.

Very low maintenance and very inexpensive to keep up with, especially the hamster.

"URON" and other weasel types smell a lot at least if they're male
my brother had one my gf could not even enter his flat because of the sickly sweet smell it had

a CHINCHILLA could work as they are night animals so it's best for them to sleep during the day and when you're away at that point you can hang and chill :P in the evening
they do have pretty strict diets though

Don't they live to be like 75 years old ? Are you going to leave it some living expense money in your will after you die ?

How is it with commands ? sit. stay . roll over ?

When you toss the ball how long does it take for it to retrieve it ?... 2-3 days ? :p

Hmmm lives to be 75, doesn't do much but lay there and eat. Hibernates 4-5 months out of the year...................why not just get an 18 yr old son, mine does all that. :D

What country or state do you live in?
For instance, here in New York City, there are so many rules, laws and restrictions, that we are lucky to even be able to have a cat or dog.
I am sure, in time, that will also be against the laws of our great restrictive city, as there are some breeds of dogs that are illegal to own, in certain areas ie: Housing Projects.
Jeeze, I think it is even illegal to own an ant farm, j/k, I think.
So, depending on where you live, may restrict you to what pets you can own.
But don't get a Parrot. They are great pets to have and are very affectionate, but they can live up to 80 years.
And you cannot really leave them alone as they really love and need companionship. Unless you get them a mate.

it all depends. i used to LOVE dogs and HATE cats.
within the last year i had a horrible mice problem directing me to getting a cat immediately. i am now sooo so in love with you. she is adorable and loving, and i treat her like shes my child. she sleeps with me all the time and even in my dogs old orthopedic dog bed (http://www.dogbedswarehouse.com). shes adorable.

you want a laid back animal get a cat.
you want a best friend, get a dog.

either way i love em both!!
