try changing to a different tsk file in the today settings...
If it goes away or changes you found your issue.

I have 6 themes installed and only one of them does not have the background issue so i think it is something with the theme but how come some people dont have this kind of problem?

hi,
to my opinion, the best way to help you to get trough this bug is to post 1 theme that works and 2 themes which make this bug : by comparison we should find the good reg key...

Is that WM6.5?

Hi,
yes ArtieQ it's WM6.5 cause transparency is impossible under WM6.1 :)
Thanks Inmortal for the screenshots : CraZyLiLbOy was right it's a tsk theme issue.
So could you upload the 3 tsk files please : the one that works and the 2 others that don't. I will get a look into these themes
Specify work or doesn't work into filename

well, I've opened your files but I did not find the right reg color key yet... It seems to be a "msgbox" or "bubble" issue but I don't know much...
For your information : .tsk theme files are cabs so rename each .tsk into .cab and open the cab with MSCEinf. Then you'll see all the registry keys.

No need to rename ! MSCEInf opens natively TSK files. :)

I did not know that BenThon, so thanks for the tip & for your great Apps too :)
Perhaps you can help us to find the place where the color of txt background in error messages is defined ?
I don't have the skill to locate the issue among all the color reg keys :(
