Heard from local Orange shop and from someone on the Orange upgrades line, that O2 are losing the contract for the iphone sometime in October and that Orange are getting it.
Just wondering if anyone else has heard this. Im not 'jumping ship', love my HD too much, just curious! :D

Not as far as i know, a friend of mine in my local o2 store told me that the iPhone is tied to o2 for approx 5.5 to 6.5 more years.

What I had heard is that Orange were getting the 3G and O2 were keeping the 3GS. THis also from an Orange Shop

We shall see... I wouldnt touch the iphone personally, i borrowed my sisters 3gs recently and i wouldnt swap my hd, in fact, for me, id rather have a 'hero' than an iphone, my girlfriends just got one and its great. All down to personal preference at the end of the day.;)

I must say that I love the Hero.

I have set up a 'Scene' to mimic the iPhone just to see if it was possible - and it is. However I prefer more information on the home screen rather than jst row after row if icons.

I just spent the day using my girlfriends hero, i think its great, for me, i have easily enjoyed using it more than when i used my sisters iphone. ;)

It is true that O2's iPhone contract is up. This is why they're getting the Palm Pre.

It's not just on orange though, the iPhone will now be an open handset for any network to adopt.

I think initially the 3Gs stays exclusive on o2 for a few months though, meaning that every other network will only get the 3G.
