i dont know what you did to this ROM but a HUGE HUGE thanks my friend! My ISP has been working on the lines this past week and i had the 3vo rom. i have my dash tethered to my PC. with that rom i averaged 60kbps. with this rom i average 170kbps. Nice!

I tried to flash it but it kept going into DOS mode and said could not detect the phone. I tried a couple times then flashed over to the latest 3VO with ease. Maybe theres some different steps or something im not aware of that prevented me from flashing over, Im just letting you know

Thx, i'ii be see the arhive- mb i make it not correctly. Somebody who download it can tell me- its flashing or not? You can also extract ruu_signed.nbh from arhive, extract all files from over arhive & copy my ruu_signed in this folder. After that run Auto.bat.

How to I select English keyboard? By default, it appears to be Russian.

A suggestion. It would be nice to select the "abc" keyboard input (in addition to 12#, xt9).

Instead of

Couple of things I've discovered.


1) I've enabled date format YYYY-MM-DD. In the top home screen bar, the WiFi status text now overlaps with the date filed. Example:

2) I can't seem to download opera mini (http://mini.opera.com) from Pocket IE. The page shows up, but when you hit the link "Download Opera Mini!" The page just loops back onto it self. Not sure if this is a opera html issue, but I was able to do this on another rom.

Might I suggest it has something to do with the .jar or .jad filename extension for the java download? I"m pretty sure this worked with other versions of PIE.

Yes, thank you. That works.

The space for the name is little short (it cuts off the WiFi name). I changed with width parameter from 80 to 160 and it fits now without cutting it off.

Yes you are showing it correct on the 12hr clock. And yes you have it right, long press J and get @ or long press M and get ! Its what is on our USA Tmobile DASH keyboard and saves having to go into symbols. :):):)

That works, I'll try that. I rebooted and the clock is now on 12hr on all screens :) Not sure what happened but before the home screen was 12hr and all others were 24hr. Now I have all at 12hr :)

1. HTC weather worked only with HTC Slibing panels. Now i try add it to over panels. Also i make Titanum panels :)
2. email setup worked fine with my accounts- yandex, rambler. I dont try with over

How good is the battery life? Under previous version (core 23004) it lasts 2 days and a half (for me). Using standard stock battery.

If you can get into the settings turn the date back in time if not flash stock ROM via bootloader.

Just install the cab I have referred in post 54; reboot and then alt+space on any text field and you should get correct us keyboard mapping. Hope this help

As for the problem to launch wifi manager from sliding panel...I´ve found exactly when the bug occurs...is when you launch the wifi manager from the sliding panel, then close it, let´s say with celetask, and then you will never get able to launch it again unless you reboot the phone..hope this can help you to fix this small issue...

Hmmm, i try to do it some times- all time Wireless Manager started. But if you close Comm Manager in Cele Task tasks its not be worked while you dont close WrlsMgr process. Its not bug- its NOT CORRECT CLOSING!!!

For me USBtoPC worked fine.

This is a very old annoyance I have ever since WM 6.1 Kavana Remade by Ricky... I don´t think it has a solution.

This is something that really bothers me, and I found no solution at all at that time.

It appears that all roms except NRG´s got this problem.

I think i solved this problem one post before. Just some programms freezed then you just close task & don't close process. Try to close task Internet Sharing (not process- just task) & try to run Internet Sharing. You can't run it ;).

Hmmm, i try to do it some times- all time Wireless Manager started. But if you close Comm Manager in Cele Task tasks its not be worked while you dont close WrlsMgr process. I am trying your rom, works nice so far.. character map for us works fine, except when I go to type in a website address in opera mini.. the number keys work odd... 1 switches between a bunch of characters . / etc.. 2 does abc, 3 does def, 4 does ghi, etc. any fix for this? By the way, it works normal in pocket internet explorer.

Found a spot on the forums here where another guy had the same problem. Apparently Opera Mini's auto-complete address input feature causes it somehow. Don't get how, but went into Opera's settings and disabled it. problem fixed.

When I had 6.0 and 6.1 they had the voice command on it. But the 6.5 seems to have the old voice tags. I was wondering why. And once again, you did a great job on this, thanks!

I never saw a brazilian dictionary available around in Excalibur, only Portuguese. And the ones that work in other ROM´s (portuguese) also works pretty well for Brazilian language.

Here in Brasil we have special symbols we use very often, like "ã", "é", and it is hard to type a SMS or an E-mail if the dictionary is not working properly, because it helps a lot.

Otherwise, I would have to use the camera/sym key very often to get those symbols and it´s a pain in the neck... here are some examples and their meanings...

Não - Means NO
Atenção - Means Attention
Abraço - Means Hug
Não faça isso! - Means Don´t do that
Reunião - Means Meeting
É sim - Means yes, it is
Não é não? - Means Isn´t it?
Te encontro lá - Means See you there.
Ajudá-la - Means Help her
Ajudá-lo - Means Help Him
Gravação - Means recording

So... It is REALLY A PROBLEM not having a working dictionary in portuguese.

I think I was misunderstood. I apologize for that.

I don´t have problems with the keyboard layout. It is now working properly with the changes I made in the KMAP file and that is attached 2 posts above (posts from me) for other brazilian people who might need it.

My problem is that there is no Portuguese dictionary when you press FN+SPACE to change language. That is my problem.

Did I make myself clear now? Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

You make Portuguesse keyboard from english file:). You can make some changes to regystry and your lang will be showing, but its dont be worked. Also you haven't library as i think (i see- i havent it too :( ), therefore portuguese dictionary didn't work(as i think). You can just typing with abc mode. Correct me if i mistake.

Abc mode doesn´t work. I mean, it works, but not for typing. I still have to use the sym/camera key.

So... there is no solution? No Portuguese dictionary?

For connecting with your PC goto Settings->Connections->USB to PC & uncheck checkbox Enable advanced network functionality. For changing bootsplash just search the forum.

I´m back after a few days off to report back about portuguese keyboard layout and portuguese dictionary.

The portuguese keyboard layout modified by me works well on your rom. The dictionary provided by you DOES NOT.

In the other Rom´s, when I select PORTUGUESE and try to type a single vowel like "a", the dictionary suggests me to use “a à á â ã”. This is not happening with your portuguese CAB provided, so, I still have to use the Camera/Sym key. Same with the word não, wich means NO

Also, when you´re typing, you can´t use the center button like an OK to autocomplete.

For example, try it yourself... in any text field, type "auto". You´ll notice that the dictionary is suggesting you to use "auto automation automatic". Scroll to the right to choose AUTOMATION. Then, you should press the CENTER button to accept the word AUTOMATION (this is default behavior in ALL ROM´S for Excalibur). It doesn´t work. In your rom, you have to press SPACE to accept it.

So... I still have keyboard issues with your rom. May I suggest you take a look @ the cab attached? It works perfectly in some 6.1 and 6.5 rom (yours included, older version), but not on yours (current version).

Also, may I suggest you to set the #A key to turn to vibrate mode on long press?

After a few days of use, I have to say that there are some good, some bad...

The goods:

* It´s fast and responsive. Real fast... It´s almost like running WM6.1
* Your start menu icons are pretty much more visible than Ookba´s and different from the original icons (the ones in WM6.0 or WM6.1), it makes out of boredom.
* Boot screen does not produce any sound during the boot process. And let´s be honest... they´re much better than the Fire ones...
* When you´re typing, you can use the center button like an OK to autocomplete. This behavior happened after installation of the PT-BR cab provided by you.

The bads:

* After installing your PT-BR/EN-US language pack the way you told so, I can´t use CAPITAL letters ANYWHERE in any field or SMS, Email, notepad.. anywhere.
* I think you are well aware of it: USB to PC does not seem to be working. WM5Torage (not included in your rom) works well.
* I can´t install any Java app (game or application) by clicking on a .JAR file from Resco Explorer. Can´t install Opera Mini either. Problem was solved by installing JBEDROSE.CAB
* I know you must be aware of it, and I´m sorry because you have nothing to do with it, but.. Opera mini gets much better if you use the tahoma font in \Windows dir.

That´s all I could find so far.

Or if you want the signed version in PIE type mini.opera choose the if this version does not work, then choose the top version multi signed, on install tick to always allow connection, then wont get prompted if want to connect all the time.

You should check stickys tutorial guide at the very first page of this forum, before flashing any rom. Almost every problem in the flashing process you can find a answer in there.

I am confused as to which model of HTC I got. It was sold as "HTC Dash S620". Under the battery it reads "EXCA100". Is it indeed 'Dash'? According to wiki, T-mobile Dash is supposed to be 'EXCA160'.

I plan to use my device for WAP/Internet on Rogers Canada and occasionally on US T-mobile and Beeline Russia. Looking for fast and stable ROM. Please advice. Will ROM "wm 6.5 (23017 ver 2.0)" work on my hardware?

I am new to HTC and have just very basic knowledge of WM.

I guess Edge connection is not fast enough for reliable VoIP. Is it so? If not, are there VoIP clients which support G.729 codec on Dash?

I do not understand why you can't type text in English. If you can't change the input language, press the Fn + Space and select the English language.

Great work on this Rom, i love it!

Had no trouble installing it... however figuring oout how to switch the language in the sms screen took some time and carefull reading though this forum. :D

what doesn't really work for me is the german keyboard remap file you've linked! it installes, but says it miht not work because it's for an older version... and so far it doesn't work. To comparison to the English keyboard, on my German keyboard for instance z+y are exchanged and the exclamationmark (!) and percent are exchanged too.

Is there any way i can change that? maybe some kinda key remapping via the registry? or could you eventually provide a new file?

Hey, zerthrymr! You can make it yourself. Just take the eT9.Rose.wwe.kmap.txt from Win dir and open it with notepad. Edit it and save as utf8.

Connect device with PC using ActiveSync!!!

23017- is not russian rom. Russian 23017 will be released in a few days.

Are you can see the dos prompt after opening *.exe? If yes then just press any key then you see Press any key in dos prompt. After this press continue button on your device screen (after pressing your screen will be white). After this step you can see the ROMUpdateUtility window on your PC. Just click Next. Thats all. AND YOU NEED UNLOCK YOUR DEVICE BEFORE FLASHING!!!

pxico, you don't need to uncompress the file. Just run it and follow instructions. If you can't run it, then unzip *.exe with 7z (or anything else) and run Auto.bat.

Best bet is to get a decent music player Pocket Player (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/) fits the request and leave SRS all i do is amplification out ;)

Make sure accept beam is ticked under settings/connections/beam "may not be excat location" but easy to find.. ;)

hi alexss. trying out your rom and love it so far. the only thing is, i'm having volume control problems. when in a call, the volume doesn't seem to change whether or not i turn it up and down with the jogger. i have the jogger set to scroll because the down on the dpad is not working, but it changes the volume fine for wmplayer. in call, the indicator shows it is changing up and down but no change in actual volume. any suggestions?

Hi friends! I recently flashed this ROM. Its great but because of some bugs I decided to flash back to 3vo. The issue is that every time I get to the white screen it disconnects from PC, so Im stacked here. I tried unsuccessfuly to flash to 6.1 and 6.5 and hard reset many times. Flash your stock rom and you will be ok. Read the sticky, there is a thread over there with the stock roms.
