Am really torn between splash screens though , really like the new " stylez black " but really like the old " stylez black ", may have to set up a users poll to decide that one.

ok so far so good everything i normaly use installed and work just fine, i really like the icons on m2d they look good, the rom itself feels a little faster then v1 and for me i don't know why but it seems like m2d is loading up faster than it did i v1. congrats brother on yet another wonderful release. :D

Tested all aspects, all apps, everything i use, i installed it, works perfect, exept the Tilt Keyboard Fix... I don't know why, but it messed up my hard-keyboard up?!? I don't know, is it a bug or?! But, i uninstaled it and my keyboard works just fine with the RR keyboard fix...

I only have one question... Is this ROM really faster than the 1.v? Cuz i really dont see a difference?! Just the skining, but that is just the skining... everything else works the same!

By changing the Manila2D.exe to an original since the .exe is hex'd for change, so just need another Iolite build, disable M2D and try this.

Yes kill ilock2.exe with advanced task manager then try "i have stopped using S2U2 due to this as has happened on many builds"
It also stops FdcSoft TaskMgr from loading :(

No it's not a bug it's due to .xml and and you will see this if just apply a theme with the old weather graphics will shift the weather to the left :D

I will take a look to see if can tweak not promising maybe just the graphics need applying without allowing the .xml change of weather in M2DC.

Attached the original .xml for you to return back please back up theme's via M2DC before applying new will save any hassles.

Those are the old " framed " weather graphics. I like the new " frameless " weather graphics much better, more up to date looking.

Plus the weather animations will not work with the framed weather.

Why won't the animation work? just wondering if it fetches .brn files for the weather to which i think it overlays onto the original?

I prefer the original too manily as it takes longer to load the files and doesn't look as tight ;)

Yep listen to your voice messages :D JK no there's not i'll look into it when can .xml editing not the easiest thing to do abz shared his .xml but it killed M2D on load so i'll have to work out the no's needed.

I have been using Second Today with WeatherPanel. You could give that a try or the WeatherChannel cab posted in AI's thread. They both give more details...

showaco's weather had problems after weather change could get the feed but some items not shown, i'm using Weather4me (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=527905) mapped to long 6 and hidden from taskmanager so can stay in background :)

The original theme is the same as pretty much all others as it's based around a stock M2D theme, if the original suites your needs more than the newer it's linked in first page :)
If you find a theme which fits 2 x can you link please as i'm sure i could make the original theme to work with if that's the issue?

i'm using exchange mail server and it does not sync at all.

i suggest NOT :) simplest icons are best. Just quick look and You know everything, while such sophisticated ones requires deeper look :)

Yeah on S2U2 thread was first to find the problem with S2U2 & fdc taskmanager, others found it but even in 4 releases no cure, not that i'm fussed now since version 1.6x is almost identical :)

There are many to choose from with regards both so if i leave up to users the customization of device then i don't get the i like the white icons as they harder to get than the 100's of colour sets, dialers the same again more of a personal preference Opal still rocks know many using the new Topaz still think that putting the Answer & Hangup on the curtain is a massive design flaw ;)

Just doin anything i can to keep users happy, to be honest still learning all the time myself and that was my second time to venture into .xml and now it makes sense "so another tick in my box for oneself"

I'll be sticking with 6.1 for as long as my brain can be creative ;) "not a million things that can be done with 6.1 builds"

The thing is, the GfxBoost program, in my practise dues nothing to the performance and i was a little disapointed... i googled it and i discovered that there is a post in xda about D3D and OpenGL, and GfxBoost. "IT CUD BE, that the drivers, when flashed in a ROM need a Disable/Enable."

So i did just that. I was shocked to see the results. Everything works 50% faster than before. My NAVIGON, fluid as can be, games... 2x faster...

Maybe a discovery for all, or just for me on my HardSPL and radio version!
Who knows... but i edvice you to give it a try!

Now i love the the Stylez Black v2 even more!

Always had my doubts about gfx but with so many peeps ravein on about it cooked it in. Not seen anything that goes against the use as in battery etc but not seen a dramatic improvement if any, inc with what you said as i disable gfx alot as no way gonna watch CorePlayer in DirectDraw mode when QTV kicks it 10 x over.

Would be interested in other peoples points of view for v.3 if they want it cooked in would'nt save loadza space but would be a bit and about 1.2MB RAM freed up ;)

And... For Stylez... I dont know about the Core Player, cuz i simply don't use it, but about the 2D acceleration/boost i am certan, it WORKS... you can take my word for it... ;) As for fashing it on the next rome, about which, by the way - i am so waiting for it.. I think you should leave it there. It is a nice peace of software. ;) :rolleyes:

P.S. - Tomorow i gonna get my new GSM antenna for my Kaiser, i broke my old one. Now i finaly gonna start using my Kaiser as a phone to! :D :D :D :D :D :D

I knew it... this thread just disapered in the secount page of the thread list just cuz the ROM version is to flawless... i read other threads and by a new ROM relase everyone are posting about bugs... a bug here, a bug there.. this or that dues'nt work properly... unlike this thread... maybe a "I wish it would be like this", but not a - i find a bug - or - why dues that and that don't work - or - i hate the key mapping... :D :D :D Nothing like that readable here! :) Pluss... in some other threads i read the cook just replying on bugs like if he dues'nt care. :D Nothing like that here... but maybe it is cuz, this cook dues'nt get as many replys on what dues'nt work, and he has much more time to adress and look into every of the smalest issues, cuz there are next to NONE to find here!!! :)

Really LOVE the rome. Will stick to it 100% till the next version of stylez black will surface... :)

I knew it... this thread just disapered in the secount page of the thread list just cuz the ROM version is to flawless... i read other threads and by a new ROM relase everyone are posting about bugs... a bug here, a bug there.. this or that dues'nt work properly... unlike this thread... maybe a "I wish it would be like this", but not a - i find a bug - or - why dues that and that don't work - or - i hate the key mapping... :D :D :D Nothing like that readable here! :) Pluss... in some other threads i read the cook just replying on bugs like if he dues'nt care. :D Nothing like that here... but maybe it is cuz, this cook dues'nt get as many replys on what dues'nt work, and he has much more time to adress and look into every of the smalest issues, cuz there are next to NONE to find here!!! :)

Really LOVE the rome. Will stick to it 100% till the next version of stylez black will surface... :)

Yep your right works with Album, but not at boot. I should have tried album.

Can it be re-enabled at boot? Also S2U2 is not displaying the animated gif's. I have no idea if the 2 issues are connected. I'll keep looking for a solution for S2U2. Unless you have any advice.

A question: my AS is allways running on the PDA. After soft reset, still. Can I shut it down anyway? If I simply close it in the task manager, after few mins it is there again.

The phone uses active sync for different things, to update weather, to sync email, time, etc. It is almost always on, but it uses almost nothing inthe way of phone resources, battery, memory and such.
\There are ways to " kill it " but it is much easier to just hide it in your task manager and let it run in the background , out of sight, that is what I do.

I NEVER had asked for pin-code (any ROM from any Chef). Maybe at phone options you have to uncked the pin code on PIN/PIN2 tab.

I konw, but I would like to use PIN. In every rom (at least what I've used, and in stock ones), after the reboot of the os, a window appears, where you can give your PIN for the phone-function. Always had my doubts about gfx but with so many peeps ravein on about it cooked it in. Not seen anything that goes against the use as in battery etc but not seen a dramatic improvement if any, inc with what you said as i disable gfx alot as no way gonna watch CorePlayer in DirectDraw mode when QTV kicks it 10 x over.

Would be interested in other peoples points of view for v.3 if they want it cooked in would'nt save loadza space but would be a bit and about 1.2MB RAM freed up ;)

I do think GfxBoost does make switching tabs in M2D a lot faster, though i must admit i've been using roms with Gfxboot for a long time now. As for the disable/enable trick i haven't noticed any speed improvements... but i wonder if that can be possible, because this rom flies already :)

In the meantime while the cook is looking for a fix, i can advice you to press the green phone button after booting. This will take you directly to the pin console. No need to use the comm manager for that ;)

Tough question, as v2 is so good and stable. I do love to see this notification skin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554524) in a next version.

I try the version naked. Speed very is pleasant. There are no friezes.
There are some problems:
If the Kaiser is in a sleeping mode, often breaks GPRS a connection. Also it is restored after inclusion.
Today has not worked an alarm clock. I did not install additional soft for alarm clocks.

Thanks stylez. This rom is running perfectly so far. MSVC is announcing and everything! (the one thing that usually fails on the latest roms I've been going through) Nice and lean too. iGO 8.3.x flies too! After loading all of my crap I still have 43MB of ram (while I'm playing audio with audio manager loaded) - nice and snappy too and it looks great! I think I'll be on this one for a while until my flash itch flares up again ;)

maybe we've found the cause of this issue (thanks to stylez).
Seems that it has something to do with bluetooth headset (maybe with other bt devices too). I'm able to reproduce the problem just
pair my bt headset,
listen music (optional :D),
turn off bt headset,
turn off bt on pda
and then softreset.
After that touchflo doesn't start and the device is very slow, but if i turn on bluetoot the issue go away after a while.
All seems to work fine if i turn off the bt on my kaiser first instead of bt device.
Can anyone make some test to confirm?

I think that the point was, that the rest of us are not having that problem. My Tilt sends BT files to my iMac, to my son's LG Vu and my iPhone 3Gs. So it must be something to do with your phone or the phone you are sending to , not the rom.

So let's see if we can figure out what is wrong with your phone .

Question: do you install to device or SD? I haven't used this ROM yet, but I used this build on my current ROM successfully (got issue with the recommended Opera 9.7) and previously Athine WM6.1 without issue and knowing Stylez, I'm sure this build works.

As per # 2 on the faqs page, Opera 9.7 only works if you load the neo drivers package. Please read the faqs.

I really LUV how the menus look, for the phone Settings, the advanced Communication Screen with the ringer switch... And the Action Screen, which is in V2 of your ROM, let it be... The E-Mail provider screen... and the YouTube app, cuz this one is lagy... The sound profile settings menu, and the cool notifications entlargements and the notifications menu... But please - NO EzImput 2.1... i beg of you... this programm makes the HW Keyboard twisted... :( I suggest to use the CM-Keyboard with the iphone skin - it is grate and it is just the soft keyboard, it dues'nt mess your HW-Kybrd up...!

That's due to M2D being ported from a device without a hardware keyboard and is prevelant in all M2D builds ;)

You know?! I don't know, but from what i cud gather, the FingerKeyboard in a QVGA resolution takes up much more space and has smaller keys, BUT it has cursor keys in the bottom, and you've get very nice phone vibrating every time you press a button. Really hated the cursor buttons, cuz many times i pressed them accidentally and landed somewhere in the text above, so that needs some attention payed to it... but still the vibrate feedback on the press is really nice. It is really a matter of subjective thinking... if you like it best, you use it - that simple.

On The other hand, the PocketCM Keyboard v 0.14 with the iPhone skin takes up less screen and the buttons are larger, but compared to the FingerKeyboard, as i said, FngrKybrd has more buttons, like the cursor buttons and for the long press, you can add .com www. functions etc. But really, think about this this way. We've got a slide out Keyboard and really nice cursor buttons on the Hard Keyboard and on the front of the device, so the FingerKeyboard, just for the Kaiser, has no insignificant use for the cursor buttons.
O.k. The PocketCM Keyboard has NO vibrate on press, but is it really necessary? Cuz you still need to pay attention where you press you finger. And you can't get any sound on press with the PocketCM Keyboard... But is that necessary?! Both of the keyboards use the same release technique, so the precision must be the same on both keyboards, but still, the PocketCM has larger and more basic buttons and you can get copy, paste, cut, tab on long pressing enter, on spacebar you will have smiles and āēīō and many, MANY other possibility's...

And both of the app's are changeable to default keyboard on SR with change SIP.

Conclusion, as much as I LOVE xda and all the developers here, and i due really like the FingerKeyboard app, but still ... I do understand, that I have a Pocket Personal Computer with a full qwerty hard keyboard and need the on-screen keyboard only for few things only... to type into the location tab - find some place in Google map, and maybe for some entry's in opera and fast find a contact, if i am to lazy to open the hard keyboard. And i don't need soft cursor key's cuz I have them on my phones hardware.

The FingerKeyboard is superb for devices without a physical keyboard. But for basic entry's the PocketCM Keyboard with the superb skin customization possibility's scattered all over this forum, for The Kaiser, i think (subjectively) is much more of a better use.

hmmm lol your right it is a wwe, but the hard keyboard can be changed to other if you mod the reg correctly, people do it all the time on cooked roms!

Same here.. mostly FK .. give me easier typing with the vibrate feedback. TouchPal doesn't have the feedback, though key size is good enough. I hate the correction (as I usually don't type full grammatically correct words ;) )

So, stay with FK I am ..

Still nothing beats real keyboard (and also the best I ever use: SE M600, can do full keyboard typing with one hand, blind :D )

(BTW, I just tested, PCM Keyboard, the lay out is not spacious enough compared to FK .. so to me FK still the best .. )

I am finally back to Black V2.

I have spent the last week or so flashing ROMs, this morning I have flashed back to Black...AH.... I really do like this ROM.
I Flashed Shifu's V17 and Solace 3.1.

I did like some pieces of both like, the keyboard, but hated the fact that the sliding keyboard keys were messed up.

I did like having S2U2 cooked into shifu's rom

I did not like the volume mapped to the Ok button on the side. I like the ability to tap on the Speaker Icon at the top of the screen to change the volume or switch to vibrate.

I liked the Large Notification windows that would pop up.

The phone pad dialer/ keypad was interesting...I find myself having a hard time with slide to answer.

All in all I like Stylez Black V2 the best!

Is anyone else having trouble downloading files via wifi? I've tried a couple of different browsers (Skyfire and PIE) they both browse fine, but refuse to download files i.e., they start the download process, but immediately hang up. Version 1 worked fine for this, afaicr. Maybe I have a setting messed up?

I am using Opera 9.7 and have no problem downloading files. Just tried again and all works well.

SRS ??? There is some settings in reg that you need to take note of before and make sure soft-reset, i don't use as amplification does nothing for sound using an EQ will give far better audio accoustics, which is why use PocketPlayer.

Actually the thing is, i soft-reseted and the sound disapered...!!! No saund, nada nichts, nichevo... Ike... naāne...! And i think it cud not be cuz of my hardSPL or my radio... or?!

Opera mobile fixed my issues (think it's version 9.5). Funny about Skyfire and PIE, though. Seems to be an intermittent problem with both, perhaps site specific...

Than, the battery status/volume/connection status/notification bar - i've had it no-more large and finger friendly.. maybe cuz of my radio or HardSPL?!?!?!

Don't know what you were expecting ? Microsoft stopped issuing new builds a while ago, so if you were expecting a new build every week, go to 6.5, where M$ comes out with a new beta build every other day. M$ is done with 6.1.

Lucky for all of us 6.1 lovers, stylez isn't done with it. The new versions are going to have different combos of programs and he always tries to give us what is new coming out of the hacking and development forum, such as zLaunchy, Weather4me and Weather cities editor, all great and helpful new apps. And the latest theme upgrades, like manila 2.6 theme. Old versions will always be available so that flashers new and old will always be able to pick out the theme, speed and combination of apps that is just right for them.



I for one applaud stylez for his hard work in searching out apps and cooking in new features as they come along. Like I said , if you want new and cutting edge , flashy, barely stable roms. 6.5 is for you.

EDIT: ....if you want the big status screen , go to start/system/touchflo and check " show system status screen.

The program tab is not used by all "myself included as minimal tabs", the large icons have never been there and are enabled in TouchFlo settings, Weather4Me gives more data than M2D and the Weather Editor allows people who are not adapt @ editing .xml to have there own local data.

It didn't happen to everyone but what it was was that M2D would not load after paired headset both shifu and i had this.

Tended to happen after having more programs load @ startup.

I have only outlook, PKG (?) and SPB MS3 on starup. The rest are the default processes... I also deleted the aebutton plus on start up (don't use anyway)

Bruv, i spent a week working on the issue same as shifu, with every SPL combination it happened had other beta testrs with same issue, and now M2D loads for me so bug fixed :)

No one else in thread commented but if you go to shifu's thread and read people had same issue ;)

Also is your car recognized as headset or BT device?

Don't know what you were expecting ? Microsoft stopped issuing new builds a while ago, so if you were expecting a new build every week, go to 6.5, where M$ comes out with a new beta build every other day. M$ is done with 6.1.

Lucky for all of us 6.1 lovers, stylez isn't done with it. The new versions are going to have different combos of programs and he always tries to give us what is new coming out of the hacking and development forum, such as zLaunchy, Weather4me and Weather cities editor, all great and helpful new apps. And the latest theme upgrades, like manila 2.6 theme. Old versions will always be available so that flashers new and old will always be able to pick out the theme, speed and combination of apps that is just right for them.



I for one applaud stylez for his hard work in searching out apps and cooking in new features as they come along. Like I said , if you want new and cutting edge , flashy, barely stable roms. 6.5 is for you.

EDIT: ....if you want the big status screen , go to start/system/touchflo and check " show system status screen.

Sorry, man... Switching back to V2. This one is absolutly the same, only with some unnececary items added... and... like the splash screen v2 best... And the notifications for the battery etc. why are they not finger friendly anymore...

It has no lanscape and is installable via .cab it's linked in extras with green to fit theme ;) Also i'm not fond as a majour design floor placeing the buttons on the outside of the curtain rather defeats the object :D

It is launch apps. Type in the first letter and as you type in more letters , the more it narrows your search down.

I use the M2D launcher tab to quick launch much used apps, but it is always a pain to try to remember where something is for those apps that you need, but only use once a month or so. Like your PDF reader or things like that. I can never remember if somethings are in programs, and then what folder, or if they are in settings. It is great for lost apps. Stylez uses it for his main launcher.
