Q) What is it:
A) A custom rom base on Windows Mobile 6.1 build 21051. It is only the rom image and does not include a radio

Q) What is the recommended set up
A) Any one that works for you basically. Stylez uses spl 3.29hard2/radio 1.70.19.09; I use spl 3.29hard/radio 1.65.24.36

Q) What is the difference between Full, Light and Naked ?
A) The list of what each rom contains, is listed on the first page. Basically the full has M2D and a full variety of programs and features. The Light may or may not contains M2D and contains less programs and more storage so that you can choose more of the programs you meed yourself. Naked is totally stripped. Max storage, you pick the UI, you pick your own programs.

A) The hardest thing for a chef to do, is make decisions on what apps to use. What ever you think is the best, ten other people will say," I prefer this. " No browser was assigned to the internet tab, Internet Explorer is included in the rom, Otherwise download your own and use M2DC to assign it to the internet tab. A) To add custom weather cities to the list, just follow the tutorial HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2820586). The rom is already patched, so just edit the weather cities xml file and use Total Commander to drop it back into your device /windows folder. ( thanks scotchua )

5.) Hey stylez I am a Tilt user and tried to type an email to my boss today and all the punctuation was wrong. He thinks he hired a complete idiot, what gives.
Well AT$T still insists that their keyboard layout is the future of the world. Unfortunately it does not work with non AT$T based roms, HERE (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jukzdzldzmu) just download both .cabs and soft reset.

6.) Hey stylez, I'd rather scroll through my menus in File Explorer,rather than multi-select. I can always move multiple files in Total Commander. How do I fix this.
Use TC or PHM to edit the following in the registry. HKCU\ControlPanel\Gestures\Touch --- and delete the following Dword: Disabled and soft reset. To change from scrolling to multi-select,.... add.... Dword: Disabled ; set value to 1

7.) Hey stylez, when I hit player in Audio Manager, it takes me to the music tab in M2D, Is this a bug ?
It's not a bug it's due to M2D Iolite

8.) Hey stylez, I really like the new Splash/welcomehead screens, but you know I really love the old ones, can I use the old ones with the new new version ?
Yes, Just download this zip (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zwommjxzonn) and unzip. Copy the welcomehead file to your phone and use Total Commander to copy it to your /windows folder. Then run the CustomRUU to flash the new splash screen, ( just like a rom flash) soft reset and you have v1 splash/welcomehead again.

9.) Hey stylez, what is Sashimi and how do I use it ?
Go HERE (http://www.winmo-experts.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4) , the developers page, to read all about Sashimi and for tutorials on how to use it. Bengalih is a bit abrasive, but his app really is NICE.

10.) Hey stylez, I really like the large Icons in the start menu as shortcuts for recently opened apps, can I get them on your rom ?
Just go to settings/system/touch flo and check large start menu. And they will appear.

11.) Hey stylez, the long date format, overlaps my carrier info. Is there a way to change this ?
Just go to start/system/today/items and uncheck TouchFlo,restart, download and install THIS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4428618&postcount=270) cab, restart and you will have old M2D screen back.

12.) Hey stylez, in v3 how do I remap my hardware " ok " key from zLaunchy, back to just OK
Just open up AE Button go to Button 4 Click on & where it says Handled by AEBPlus change to Do not touch it, should be prompted to restart and back to default

13.) Hey stylez, I hate the large finger friendly Rhodium Menu Enhancements, I'd much rather squint and have to use my stylus all the time. How do I get rid of it.
Change this registry value: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\CUIHandler " to DWORD "0"

14.) Hey stylez, The new black folder icons are great and very unique, but I am a vanilla kind of guy/girl. Can I have the default ones back ?
Sure can, just install this .cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4896485&postcount=681) and you can have the default folder icons back.

15.) Hey stylez, Any chance of you releasing this rom in twenty different languages ? NO ? Well can I at least change the keyboard language ?
Since everyone in the world refuses to all learn English, ( kidding ) here is how, 1. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD] "CurLang "=dword:1033 (DEC) 2.[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI] "CurLang "=dword:1033 (DEC) ,where 1033 is the language code. It is important to put in the code as DEC and not HEX. HERE (http://msdn.microsoft.com/it-it/goglobal/bb895996(en-us).aspx) is a list of language codes that should also work with Windows Mobile.

ROM is stable and fast. Installation went smoothly via USB, sound quality good, Bluetooth head set working nicely. No complains so far.

The ROM looks pretty, but as soon as I initiate a data connection, it decides to shut down with no warning. Is it my phone or is it these ROM's. I had shutdown problems on the 6.5 ROM's but it wasn't as blindingly obvious when or how it was happening.

Then I realized I had forgotten to upgrade to a newer radio. I did that and the data connections seem to work correctly. More playing now.

Crap. That wasn't it. Phone just shuts off completely with no warning. Battery is fine. (Yes, I followed the instructions for installing ROM)

PROPS for a GREAT CHEF and friend. Stylezz has been an excellent tester for the previous 6.1 chefs and was the biggest infulence in most of our WM6.1 choices.
Whenever, me or other members wanted to use a rom, We would ask Stylezz for his review so that we would pick a rom and stick to.

Now, Stylezz is the new Newb chef(though not so new to 6.1).
After testing his rom, HE'S MY NEW CHEF and sticking to his rom.

I just double checked and am not having that issue with data or wifi. Did you flash a stock first, hard reset after flash?

Yes. I even just tried again with the AT&T 6.1 stock ROM, and it is still just shutting down on me. And it seems to be happening more than strictly with the data connection. It will be in the midst of doing something and then it dies.

Is there any way to diagnose this problem? I would think there was a defect on the phone, but the stock ROM's don't do this. I really would like some of the advanced features of these cooked ROM's, but not if my phone is unstable.

so are you saying that it still shuts down even with the stock rom, or it only happens with custom roms.

This happens to my phone every once in a while and it is ususally right after I have switched batteries. Makke sure that your battery is seated tightly.

Even if you have to shim it a little towards the contacts.

I got to say how great this rom is!
I'm very new to the tilt/kaiser world, and every rom before this one I had tested gave me nothing but problems. My excalibur/dash I have became a test phone the moment i got this one ,and this one is my everyday phone , and the last week for the most part, I've spent it hard resetting the phone and working thru the bugs on those roms.
So the best decition I could've made was to give this rom a try, WOW!:D what a solid build! everything works for me like is supposed to, as soon an I flashed and set it up, felt nothing but great responsiveness and smoothness, as of now 1 day into it, and I've been enjoying my tilt like I'm supposed to, no glitches or hang ups, on apps.

I know I'm a the bottom of the todem pole of knoledge here in the world of kaiser, but in my opinion one of the best 6.1 roms out there.:D

I think you maybe mixing up Total Commander with HTC File Explorer, I have flashed almost every 6.1 rom there is/was and have never seen that function in File Explorer. :)

Total Commander does everything HTC File Explorer does but better and more.

I think you maybe mixing up Total Commander with HTC File Explorer, I have flashed almost every 6.1 rom there is/was and have never seen that function in File Explorer. :)

Total Commander does everything HTC File Explorer does but better and more.

I've been using GSfinder as my explorer since i start using WinMo, for me this is the best explorer there is.

I have been using the same combo I use with TPC's Roms 1.70.18.02 and 3.34 dave shaw and I have not had a single prob with it.

Yeah i've been using the 3.34 hard spl with stock 1.65.21.18 ATT radio and all is well with me, battery life seems pretty good, signal is good, etc... love this rom, its been great, only thing that could possibly make it better is this rom in WM6.5 ;)

3- You are right, it isnt as smooth but this is only cosmetic rather than a bug. You can live without it. Im sure once all bugs are settle, cosmetic modifications will come next my friend :)
4- Stylez, or for the matter of fact, no chef can assure 100% work of all apps on their roms because some may conflict with rom. This is wht happen in one of the roms(dont recall whos rom, Garmin XT wouldnt work).

Other than that, i think the rom is excellent and to be honest, one of the best roms ive ever used. Stylez is a newbie and he has beat all the elder chefs in my opinion.

And i know wht im talking bout because i was flashing since 2006 (Magician, Hermes, Kaiser and Blackstone). Keep up the good work buddy :D

To be honest the only time i see it slow is when i'm hitting a panel with large data Pictures & Weather to which have to load the data, i won't be able to get it any smoother considering how much faster and smooth the sliding is & also load of ROM from soft-reset, also being comparasized to chefs that have had years of cooking, no ROM is going to be 100% satisfactory to all users.

All the other things mentioned i will do my upmost to include in next ROM release :)

Myself i'm very picky as you would have seen from sig i'm never one to have a newest release of a ROM and have stuck with versions for a very long time & i'm happy to have as my full time ROM. :D

Dude , Stylez and I have been talking about touchflo2D style rom for Dash, for the longest time, but almost impossible to make, as no chef has ever thought the task was doable.
Now my battery life is about 1 to 1.5 days, sometimes two days depending on the amaount of usage. I've been using the first release(85mb) and getting ready to flash to the 101mb full, and I love it.:D

Now I know that being the perfectionist that stylez is , he cannot have anything with his name on it that is less then perfect, so he took naked down and is coming out with an ultra light M2D.

Now my question is,how many people want a naked rom without M2D, so that they can run theur own UI and don't care about the " I can't set my naked picture of Angelina Jolie as my background on my phone " bug.

Now Stylez may not be willing to post a rom that is less than 100% perfect, but if you just hate M2D and use MS 3.0 and don't use wallpaper anyway, then who cares that a great naked rom has a little bug ?

I PM'ed Stylez already about almost the same thing: Why bother with that tiny bug. I've never ever used that background option and i think the majority of wm users haven't. Only change themes (which include a background)

I do appreciate Stylez raising the bar at a high perfection level.

why would he want to use that theme when that is the T.I.R theme for their rom? they are front running that theme.

Using the full version right now dude, it's awesome.
Usefull from any point of view.

The only thing I've been missing is the calculator, and maybe a voice commander, but the rest works just fine.

It's not an issue it's due to M2D Iolite ;)
I'll try some Audio mangers and see if work :) Nitrogen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523505) is a good alternative.

mine is working just fine on my tilt. if you have installed ez input 2, i guess that could be the culprit as i have read that many who have installed it have hardware keyboard problems afterwards, BUT as for me i use ez input 2 on every rom and haven't noticed it causing the reported problems for me.

I have a confession to make I used this rom the day it was offically released.

I'm still using it, all I can say is, it runs really well and suits all my current needs.

Glad all is well :) not alot of difference in v.2 the main being that AudioManager keeps player open and also worked out how to sleep and play but to be honest don't want to change too much as it's stable gonna give another test tom and should have upload up soon ;)

:eek: to much power to be contained in the mac :D have never owned a mac myself, when i worked for digital audio disk/Sony disk manufacturing we used them, thats all the exp i've ever had with one and all i used was lotus notes to type up every machine repair i had to make (i was a process maintenance technician in the print department) at least i think they were macs :confused:

Yes it didn't work well for me installing via .cab will try and cook it in to see how is?

FingerKeyboard is a good alternative, i use TouchPal with Ezinput skin.

FingerKeyboard is a good alternative, i use TouchPal with Ezinput skin.

I'm looking something like the Iphone keyboard. My bother has one and its keyboard are amazing. (specialy for people who uses accents caracters like ã and é)

Well... I respect your opinion but disagre :D I like colorfull icons and maches with SPB MS3 colourfull pattern :)

Look at Shifu's thread there are some white % batt metters there. I tried to use at Stylez but no results (I had to hard reset)

My Dad was colorblind, I can only imagine that someone similarly afflicted, came up with the HTC icons . Is there anything duller than white stick figures in place of colorful or subtly nice looking icons.

+ 1....That has my vote . As you can see, you can always customizing the way you want. Still hate the colorless stick figure icons.

Well, if you like plain or colorful icons... it mostly depends on the interface you choose. I'm using M2D and those white icons suit M2D the most. As for Algus Helm using MS3 i can imagine he would like to have a colorful set.

But what i absolutely dislike is the usage of all sorts of different icons in one rom! You see those roms to often these days...

I don't mind cooking 2 x default and colour but will just need to polish off v.2 "know i prefer service icons cooked in"

No idea what you mean? In landscape will but have not seen any such issue and not been noted in over 500 downloads of full & just tested not seeing this.

Depends what mean by landscape it's hacked as much as M2D is but doesn't have bottom scroll, M2D Iolite is patched.

Flash your v2 Naked .. seems to be ok. Change to 24mpp uisng PagePool Patcher v1.4.3. runs very fast and stable. will report more soon.

Go to phone Options at Setings > System tab.

On Band select GSM. Press Ok and you got a "E" (EDGE ready) on status bar instead of "H"

It won't go to 3G unless you go to Settings\Connections\HSPDA and untick and i imagine you need to restart or are prompted? I use HSDPDA all the time as use data connection to full capability but give it a shot :) Also G will not show unless you use Advanced Config to enable Data Connections\Legacy GPRS Notification.

HSDPA is 3G so you would want your phone to have an H instead of an E or G .

Boy am I glad V2 came out I was getting the shakes; the doctor said it was withdrawal from not flashing for the last 3 weeks.

If this rom is half as good as the last one, I'll be happy. :D

Send/receive all is great app for people with multiple email accounts, who want to check all accounts before bed or dinner or theater. Check all your accounts for new mail one last time before shutting phone down for important event or something.

New Manila 2.6 theme is great, now if we could only grow our screens by an inch, we could add weather under the clock and shortcut tabs under the Call history/calender and have a real ported manila 2.6.

Am really torn between splash screens though , really like the new " stylez black " but really like the old " stylez black ", may have to set up a users poll to decide that one.

If and when I flash V2....can restore my Sprite Backup file from this morning that was done on V1 or do I need to go thru the work of installing everything again (so, it shows up in the Program Folders).

Well, i could not wait to flash, so took the time and flashed...Great look and feel to V2.

Now, I have been trying to figure Sashimi out and I cannot. I looked for decent instructions but cannot....Stylez could give me the basics, if you have the time.
