Just a question that may seem stupid, I basically work and study with linux and specially because of my work I tend to be always on the move.

I would like to have with me a highly portable device with linux in it but i dont like netbooks, my thought was to buy a universal/jasjar and install debian in it (supports ARM).
I don't really care about having all the phone functionalities (calls, GSM, sms, ecc...), I care more about the "pc" side of it (wifi connectivity, listen to music, watching some videos, browse, email, chat and stuff like this)

Would this be possible? Is the normal linux installation possible in a memory card? Is it difficult to set up?
Basically I would like to know if the development is far enough to allow a "non-phone" use of the device hardware. If iot is possible i'm planning in installing debian without a DE and adding some lightweight DE afterwards...

It would really be awesome!!!
