All radios are clean. You are getting a false warning about CustomRUU.exe.
Like for HardSPL, switch off your AV while downloading. Even better, include CustomRUU into the exception list of your AV.

Usually problems with location service and google map are not related to the radio, but to the ROM, location you are, provider.
Did you try to get your position by GPS instead of using only the phone connection? Maybe your phone provider doesn't send necessary information to your phone. Did you try different ROMs and have always the same problems?

I went thru all the radio ROMs listed in post#1 and I saw only improvements. At the moment I am on version 4.49.25.91 and I am happy with it.

Have about 2 weeks good experience in 4.49.25.91 in Israel. Good signal quality, little bit more battery time and my device much less heat during a call.

I was using both of these (and also older 4.49.25.xx versions)

from my point of view, best Radio currently is 2.49.25.204.

4.49.25.91 is more accurate in GPS, but seems to drain more battery while phone is in standby. BTW, I have 3G always on (but disconnected data)

What is Radio ROM version 4.49.25.91_2 included in Duttys newest HG10 release ? Is it new radio ROM, or only second version (maybe some bugfixed) same early version from Stock ROM ?

Tried the 4.49.25.91_2 for 2 days now and I didn't see any difference to 4.49.25.91.
On bootscreen it shows 4.49.25.91, no additional _2

Maybe the _2 in Duttys ROM name has another meaning.
I will not list this Radio in post#1 as it seems to be the same like 4.49.25.91

I have noticed the same thing.
The gps reception and 3g reception is more accurate but seems to drain more battery while phone is in standby.
Another thing is that it takes from 7% to 10% of the battery to make a reset. :(

i have had the same battery issues.

This is what I'm currently using and I noticed the signal is much improved but the QUALITY of the signal has gotten worse. (Intermittent connection mainly, it shows I still have signal but web browsing ad Messenger have both gotten slower/got more disconnects since using this radio.)

Yea same here: 4.49.25.91

I got it without thinking by trying one of the later official builds. I'm finding that my data connection frequently drops off and wigs out Google maps while driving around. Also I'm getting more frequent call drops. It also appears to not get as good as reception in my house then my prior radio version (which I forget which one it was).

I didn't have a problem with GPS on the 25.91... seems to connect rather quickly and accurately.

I am also seeing heavy battery drainage, which might be the rom it came with... as I am using it as a base in my kitchen.

Have to correct my post.

There is a difference in the protocol version.

The 4.49.25.91 says 61.44.tc25.32U
the 4.49.25.91_2 says 61.44.etc25.35U

Anybody has an idea what it means?

I just did my first flash of RADIO and ROM on my HTC Pure. Was a great experience thus far.

However, the Edge connection is all that 4.49.25.91 is allowing. It's strong as can be, so that's nice.

But, my area has strong 3G signals as well on the stock RADIO. How can I get this radio to obtain 3G, and if it won't do it, what should I do to change to a capable/stable RADIO?

Don't want to do something to lose the setup of this new ROM...

BumAround is right. Try one of the ROM's based on AT&T ROM and then try radios. I am not sure if it is a hardware limitation or depending on ROM/Radio combination.

in the Meanwhile, i had installed..4.49.25.91, GSM signal I felt has improved...but i'm not so sure about GPS reception, it seems to have become less...but it could co-incidental as haven't tested much..

ive been browsing through the thread and its looking like .91, .57, and .204 are the best candidates.

I use the phone heavily for calls, 3g and gps.

can anyone shed some light on this? and even which one is more stable?

at&t 3g frequencies are different from a non-us topaz. pure is by at&t so it is reasonable for it to be made with at&t's 3g frequencies

.91 is very good on t-mobile in the UK. Possibly slightly more sensitive than .57, otherwise very similar.

.57 was the big step for me, as it was the first radio which seemed to hold on better to an active 3G data connection when moving between cells as well as being faster for data in weak signal areas.

It's amazing how far the 3G performance has come from the original stock radio.

Am I correct in assuming that there is no rilphone.dll files that go with these radios, or that the custom RUU wrappers taht come with the .rar files automaticly injects the correct rilphone.dll? The reason I ask is because I can not find any rilphone.dll files that go along with these radios...

I do not have this radio as a separate file. The only ROM I found that has this Radio ROM version is "RUU_Topaz_HTC_TUR_1.39.468.4_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61 .27t.25.23_3.45.25.21G_Ship.exe", but I am not sure if it is exact the same Radio, as it has the G in the version number.
If you want to try, you can get it from my file mirror. It is in Official ROM -> WM6.1

Yeah I was referring to Topaz and not Pure. I have Topaz on AT&T and can only get edge. The .91 radio constantly hangs on edge and I have to re-toggle the connection by forcing a disconnect.

Hi all,

since some days my FM- and GPS-reception has decreased rapidly and I still don't know why.

Actually I have to wait for GPS first fix about 5 minutes. Acceptable FM-reception is only possible in direct sight of a transmitter, RDS and TMC are not possible most of the time. GSM-quality seems to be stable.

I was using the official WM6.5-ROM (and radio-ROM) from T-Mobile Germany on MDA Compact V (Topaz) for several weeks and it worked quite fine.

Can I solve this problems with a new ROM and/or radio? Or does someone know about hardware-issues leading to those problems?

Search on the forum for it. There is a thread about security/CID unlock.

It is
a) for unlocking your phone (if it is locked) to use other providers
b) to be able to flash unsigned Radio ROMs (e.g. Radio ROMs coming from TouchPro 2

It is not free, so if you have an unlocked phone and no need to experiment with another phones Radio ROM, no need to do it.

Current ROM: Energy.TOPAZ.23554.Sense2.5_with_Max.Apr.01

Changed radio from 4.48.25.20 to 4.49.25.91, but I seem to have pretty good battery drainage w/both. Perhaps that is just the ROM I am using? Regardless, both of the above radios seem to work well in my area, no issues with email, my location, etc. Will have to try 4.49.25.17 next to see how the battery fares.

Thought this might be relevant here: an app for cell id, accurate signal strength, a graph, all in real time (5 second minimum update interval) plus naming cells with friendly names.

You can search this thread for the keyword "Greece", as far as I remember there is some feedback from Greece users.

Or you just try different radio ROM. Battery life is depending on your usage, on the ROM you use and on your region.

sorry for our greek conversation. but the main point in that conversation was the signal in the greek area, so we thought it would not be so interesting for all the other people to read about a problem that they probably will never have. But for your information the problem was that with .91 the battery is draining fast in some places with bad signal, and i explained to the other greek friend that this is norrmal if he uses the telephone with all radios open the same moment and in places with bad reception.

Hello Beege and sorry also for this ,i would also want to add of what labrok said that for our use 2 hours with bluetooth conversion is enough that you have your battery level less than 20% is absolutely logical and doesnt had to do with the radio.Sorry again;);)

I've been using .91 for a while with TESS prids IV.
I find the GPS laggy as hell at times and just drops out occasionally, normally quick to get a signal tho.
I don't really want to go backwards with radio's, surely a new radio should be out soon.
I rememeber when an update for my diamond radio came out (latest official one) the GPS on it was supurb, why can't I have that with this phone?
Whats this 'Next Radio' then?

I didn't see any new Radio for a long time. Even the latest official WM 6.5 releases from HTC didn't have new Radio ROMs.

well, no answer is worth nothing, but I decided to upgrade and all worked fine, no problems at all. I'm gonna test it today further than only calling/SMS & WiFi, take a ride with the built-in GPS ...
I didn't observe any difference between the 4.49.25.17 and the 4.49.25.91 ... perhaps the .91 uses a little bit less of power, but I wasn't able to measure it.

Actually there is no changelog available for the radio ROMs. They are changed sometimes by HTC usually without any documentation. That's why you didn't get any answer on your other post.

So the known differences between the radio ROMs are just based on the observation of users. And depending on their carrier and location, they are very different.

ah, ok, I'm new to this topic (with smartphones etc.) at all, so that's why I asked... but I can share an observation, which goes with the ROM and WiFi: I experienced a bigger range and better signal quality the TD2 gets with the 4.49.25.91, the GPS didn't change imho.

Most custom ROMs come without a radio ROM. So as long as you did not change the radio ROM by yourself you have always the same radio ROM on your device, even if you change the custom ROM.

The file name of all official ROMs is something like that: "RUU_Topaz_S2_HTC_WWE_2.53.405.5_Radio_Signed_Topaz _61.44etc.25.35_4.49.25.91_Ship.exe". You can see in the name of the file radio ROM version as well. By searching for proper file name of your ROM you can find out version of radio ROM

you can also go to 1st BeeGee post in zip file see which radio is good for your country, ore simply try to flash different radios starting from 4.47 to find out yourself which is better for you area

well, maybe I'm wrong, but I think I have experienced something like this. I have noticed, that the phone works much stable and faster if reflash radio ROM after flashing main ROM. Even if reflash the same radio ROM as I’ve had before. So maybe this dll comes with radio ROM and changes then radio ROM flashes?

I tried all the radios available on this thread. Basically any radio bellow 4.48.25.20 (stock radio) gave me only 1 or 2 bars. Anything above the stock radio gave me up to 4 bars in the same location. The only problem is that I couldn't find any stable radio. Any of the radios on the 4.49s is not stable (at least for me). The bars keep fluctuating between 1 to 4, sometimes zero without my phone moving or being touch.

I live in southern California and have at&t. I had my phone for over a year and I just starting having problems with the reception. I know it's not at&t because I already called them several times and I know it's not my SIM card because it was replaced twice already. I tried my SIM on a different at&t phone and the signal strength was pretty stable and stronger than on my at&t pure.

Any suggestions?

Where you can download radio 4.49.25.91_2 ?

If you see the first post in the thread you can see the latest is "4.49.25.91" and there is no _2 for this. So you can download 4.49.25.91 from the link provided in first post.

If you are referring to the _2 mean the 2nd link provided is dead:: Then try 3rd link or you can even grab my copy from here (http://www.mediafire.com/?e6sekgaveo34a7s).
