I didn't know that there were still newer builds of WM6.1 coming out.
Thanks for sharing this! :)

This build is from July 15, 2009, so given how long it's been, I think WM6.1 is EOL (End Of Life'd) now - so this is probably as close to a "final" build as it comes - any further ones would likely be just a maintenance release to fix a nasty bug or two that crops up.

Hey da_g, although I still have love left in my heart for winmo. 6.1 as I have a 64 mb ram device and 6.1 still runs faster for me,plus I get more free ram (31 mb as opposed to 21 mb in 6.5).
but since build 21046, my battery drains a lot with 6.1. I get 2.5 days at average on 6.5 but barely 1 day on 6.1  So I wanted to ask do u know any particular thing that causes this? my newest 6.1 rom is based on 21051 and the battery drain is quiet heavy. Does this new build has any improvements? is there anything I can do. I have an htc p3400i (gene) with hardspl by orefkov. I use a platform rebuilder based kitchen.
thanks in advance. And thanks for sorting things out in the forum. OS builds is one of the most imporant resource for ppl like us and its great to have them all in one place :)

@krazy_about_technology:
I was experiencing the same issue on my Raphael, got about a day with the battery. I'm now back to about 3 days on the battery with moderate usage ... only thing I did different was RECMOD modules until SLOT0 reported empty.
If you are using Visual Kitchen 1.8.1, it generates BUILD_LOG that contain module/SLOT info ... i've assumed it to be a coincidence, but it would be intesting to see if it actually is a factor.
Cheers,

What is this ? :O
* Porting \OEM
The relevant folder here is \Erv\OEM\%DEVICENAME%\%LOCALE_ID%\OEM_Lang_%LOCALE _ID% - you need an initflashfiles.dat that matches your language. All the folder names inside here will need to be translated to your language. I will try and make translated initflashfiles.dat for each language available soon.
There is no translation to PTB!

If the ROM was cooked with protection, you will not be able to get a valid dump from it.
If the ROM was not cooked with protection, sure, this can be a good source :)

Ps: this rom is a original dump with any motifications.

UPDATE :The rom i sayd before is protected !

12th August 2009, 10:58 PM
Your profile does not say what device you have, nor is it in your signature, so really I don't know what 1.93 means :)
But, any version will work, as long as it is for your device. Dump it and you will get \OEM and \EXT, use these!

Hi, for older kitchens, simply take all folders out of \SYS\0409\xxxx and put them in \SYS, etc, delete Base :)
It's simply really, takes 5 minutes at most :) xip.bin is already posted.

With Spec 64MB, you get 47 MB free of RAM, THAT IS VERY GOOD. Can you upload the screenshot of that?
There are some methode to increas RAM.
- decrease the pagepoll, for WM 6.1 you can use 4MB, 5Mb is Better
-remove trsnscriber
-autoupdate

The important thing is the free memory, not total, total is device related, and Free RAM is software. From the picture shown that you have only 20Mb free, is this for the first boot after reset or after several time? Mine have 24Mb for the first boot after reset om WM 6.5 and 29 -31 Mb on WM 6.1.

it depends alot on what you have in the ROM
htc customisations like phone canvas, large title bar volume control might affect RAM
and for a 64 mb device try to remove the things which eat up RAM

2. if you never use mms, just use the older mms, you can use from early Wm 6.1.
3. I use camera loader, this is a small app to load and unload camera driver. usually camera driver always load in RAM, use or no it still remain there. with this app the camera driver will load only if you use the camera and release it if you close it, it can save 4-5 Mb of RAM
The negative effect are, if there is third party app that use camera, it won't work, including photo widget in M2d. the camera app have to close by typing the X button, if you press the end call button, camera won't start again. If you want to take the picture, only can by press the center button in the D pad, not the camera hardware button.
I don't know i will work on elf or other device or no, but if you want to try it, i will upload it for you.

it depends alot on what you have in the ROM
htc customisations like phone canvas, large title bar volume control might affect RAM
and for a 64 mb device try to remove the things which eat up RAM
GENE has same with your, 64 MB.
1. Remove some app, i remove:

And moreover according to the thread Da_G posted here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445), I guess the largest build number of WM6.1 won't be larger than 21058...

If you haven't HardSPL'ed your TouchPRO/Fuze yet, that's your first stop.
Afterwards, have a look at the custom ROMs in the RAPH Dev thread; if you get ambitious and want to take up cooking. You can always download the 6.1 kitchen.

I am trying this out for my Wizard, but CRBuilder2 crashes fairly early in the running. Right at the part where it gets ready to say building packages.
temp\xip and \temp\dump get created, but they are empty. Header.exe gets created, but gets removed after the crash.
I had put everything in SYS of this kitchen except the XIP folder. Of course I only used the dpi96 for 240x320 and common files. I also put my OEMXIPKERNAL and my os.nb.payload in the XIP folder and the wincenls file, etc.
What is the limit on number of modules in Wizard? It seems there are a lot of them in this bundle.
I have noticed OS folder has d0b41563-b345-4444-aa15-986e7c7fff99.exe module and the same name in rgu and dsm. I do not think CRBuilder likes that. I cannot figure out the actual program name and I cannot get mod to file to convert it to a file s oI can see the name that way. Anyone already know?

Hmm,
No problem with CRBuilder and 21054 SYS took from here. Everything is working fine and no crashing troubles.
I also see d0b41563-b345-4444-aa15-986e7c7fff99.exe inside OS but thats is the problem for CRBuilder.
For testing your kitchen -
Rename the SYS ( Containing 21054 ) to some else ( i.e SYS21054 ).
Now create a empty dir named SYS.
RUN the Build ROM ( Note SYS shouldn't contain any files or folders )
I think it crashes coz there is something wrong either in your OEM or XIP or EXT if any! :)

It is possible that a 21055 build was released; build 21109 (ansar ROM) is questionable as some of the version (ex: 1.6.0) elements on the posted pictures seem out of date.
In either case; without access to the original source, it is next to impossible to confirm.

Well I know I could do that . . . Da_G is always a reliable source of new builds, and you are, seriously, one of the most helpful people I know in these forums . . . but you know I always want the newest, biggest, & best :). So I was hoping someone else had at least tried it, so we could figure out what's causing the issue (just so I know it's not just me).

Did you have to add any folders from the 21054 to make it work? I seems to be missing some 0409 folders.

Turns out it was user error. I neglected to unzip & extract one of the 0409 packages. I did notice that Voice Command is missing from 21055, but I can use 21054's MSVC just fine. Thanks for the feedback :).

Buddy please give a thought to what you have written. I have also said the same thing. 210xx builds ( example 21054) are fine, they are original. i was saying about 211xx builds.
I see, it's my fault, sorry dude:p. I agree with your view.

21055 build is perfectly real and is good. I have done all my checking, build date is 1 septmber 2009 while 21054 was from june 09. Plus there is only an increment on 1 in the internal build number.
Its speedy, the response time of UI elements is good along with ok battery life. The only thing it doesn't have is Voice Command, but as someone pointed earlier, 21054 Voice Commnad works perfectly fine with it. So I would recommend eveyone who is staying with WM 6.1 to upgrade to this build immediately. :)

Below applies to HTC GENE only :).
Yes WM 6.1 build 21055, is really a very good build.
I switched back to 6.1 (build 21055) after a long time, and I am very glad with the results.
Finally after a long time My mobile is working the way it should. No more low memory errors, and no need to constantly rebooting to use a heavy application ( heavy on memory). For that matter even the camera doesn't load at time's with WM 6.5 ( even without camera loader in rom )
Though not as finger friendly as 6.5. Still you will not regert for switching back to 6.1 with this build.

On 21055, i have a great working rom, everything is running simply great. But i am facing this one weird problem. My phone hangs randomly, when i am using gprs and a call comes. The caller id screen doesn't shows up, just the softkey indicators change to call status and cancel. I am using WM default dialer. And after this, the lower part of screen where the caller id popup comes becomes un-tapable. only a soft reset solves this. Similarly sometimes, when i use a USSD command like those to show onscreen balance etc, the bubble comes up from the signal bar but then stays there and doesn't goes.
Can anybody throw some light on this issue?

That includes the MSXIPkernel for use in Visual Kitchen (VK). I am looking for the Complete UNSEPERATED xip.bin thats usually about 5mb for use in manual xip's... For use with porting.. I already downloaded the kernel in Alexx's post also with the sys and dpi files. I tried swapping out the files manually but thats a no go, I need the xip.bin for my particular case.
So yet again. Bump..

Hi RyanMogul6800,
I looked into this a while back as I wanted to update the Raphael WinMO 6.1 Legacy kitchen (PkgToolsBuildOS) as well as the Visual Kitchen.
Here's what I discovered:
Alexx checked his sources for me and confirmed that a XIP.BIN was not available
I attempted several methods to generate a XIP.BIN and in all cases could never get my device past the version boot screen.
Building a ROM in the Visual Kitchen (1.8.2) would always produce a working final product. After making a backup of my working Visual Kitchen, I attempted to build an Old Style ROM and could never get my device past the version boot screen.
In summary; although 21055 works fine in Visual Kitchen (New Style), it does not seem to work in Visual Kitchen Old Style mode which leads me to suspect there may some other anomalies.
HTH,

For me, i had no issues cooking Sense 2.1 under WM6.1 for Diamond.
I Use B21054 from here, Da_G's first post.
I did it for 0409 WWE and 040C FRA.
No problems.

Nothing spécial, just used the stock packages, no more customisation.

My process is I dump my stock Rom, then I take the manila package in the kitchen and cook, and I always get problems, either the Settings Tab not scrolling, When I click on contacts it restarts manila, or both.

Well it should work from IE, I used IE8 and it was flawless. I dont know whether it is from a device or official nbh, on the FTP, its in form of separate packages, Common, QVGA, VGA, WVGA etc. As for the link posted by Duron, i guess you just PM him and he will rectify the error, hes very good at it :)

No worries mate; appreciate you making the time to download the rest of the packages from the FTP site. I would have likely done the same if I had 256KB bandwidth.
:)

Understandable. Often times however, the SYS and XIP.BIN are required for chefs who are looking to integrate the updated O/S in other kitchen types.
I much prefer doing the extraction from the source HTC .EXE/.NBH file as it ensures that all the files that may be required are present. BTW, this download is similar to 21055 - it will work fine with the Visual Kitchen, but will be problematic with the PkgToolsBuildOS (Legacy) kitchen.

From what I gather, the FTP site only contained the 0404, 0407, 0409, & 0804 languages. You should be okay to use your existing language resources however, doubt there's been any significant changes that would affect your build.

This build is from July 15, 2009, so given how long it's been, I think WM6.1 is EOL (End Of Life'd) now - so this is probably as close to a "final" build as it comes - any further ones would likely be just a maintenance release to fix a nasty bug or two that crops up.
Oh! I don't think so!!

Much appreciated. The XIP.BIN file is small in size;
What is the source device for OEMXIPKernel portion that is present in the XIP.BIN?
Was ULDR reduced?
Was the Certificated Checking disabled?
Was the PagePool unlocked and/or resized?

There were very little changes in the SYS portion as well. As Da_G pointed out when he released 21054 ... any new updates would likely be very minor bug fixes to really obscure problems.

Ok this is what I know about these versions.
CE OS 5.2.21054 (Build 21054.1.6.7)
I can find this ROM in the Sprint Touch Pro, but the SYS is incomplete.
What ROM has the complete SYS?
CE OS 5.2.21055 (Build 21055.1.6.8)
I have no information on this ROM and can’t find any.
CE OS 5.2.21056 (Build 21056.1.6.9)
I have no information on this ROM and can’t find any.
It would be great if someone could give me the rest of the information.
I’m looking for the OEM shipped ROM or just the phone it came from.

AFAIK, there isn't a ROM that sports 21054, 21055, or 21056.
This thread is intended as a resource for chefs who to update their existing WinMO 6.1 kitchen with a recent version of the SYS - the portion typically provided by MS. The OEM portion of a kitchen is usually device specific and is often obtained by downloading the latest official ROM from the HTC website for a device.
To avoid further confusion; a kitchen is compromised of:
ROM (OEMXIPKernel): typically obtained from latest HTC device ROM
ROM (MSXIPKernel): typically obtained from latest HTC device ROM or included as part of a recent SYS such as the ones in this thread
OEM: typically obtained from latest HTC device ROM
SYS: typically obtained from latest HTC device ROM or included as part of a recent SYS such as the ones in this thread
All these "ingredients" are put together in a kitchen and compiled to produce an end result often referred to as a Custom ROM.

I don’t know what about my question lead you to believe that I might not know what im doing.
I’m looking for the original builds from the OEM and not an already dumped ROM.
The only thing I can find anywhere is an already dumped ROM.
So my question was where to get the ROM? Or what phone do they come from?
And believe me im not in the slightest bit confused.

You're not the first member to ask for this information, and I wasn't certain as to when you started chef'ing, so I figured it best to provide a brief overview.
There isn't an official HTC ROM that sports 21054, 21055, or 21056. The SYS portion, and languages, were compiled by an undisclosed (anonymous) source who has pre-OEM access to the tools required to compile the SYS and MSXIPKernel.
That said, it's not to say that a carrier may not have requested HTC to produce an official HTC ROM with a SYS and MSXIPKernel at 21054, 21055, and/or 21056 ... it just hasn't been made available via XDA.

SYSversion 1.2 by MrVanx - 2008
Da_G posted some info regarding the inconsistencies in the AKU versions. From what I recall, HTC is notorious about updating only the AKU versions on the packages (files) that were changed.
Things it lacks
Da_G posted some info regarding missing packages in SYS; these are options that HTC can select to include/exclude at ROM compilation time. It's possible they were overlooked or the carrier requested that they be omitted; was this a test ROM per-chance?
Regarding the noted packages:
AdobeFlash & AdobeFlash_LANG_0409: not uncommon, the official Raphael HTC ROM's that I've extracted in the past often miss these packages.
BTDUN: same comment as above.
RemoteDesktopMobile & RemoteDesktopMobile_Lang_0409: same comment as above.
Browsingie & browsingie_LANG_0409: this one is odd, should be there as there are some dependencies for other SYS components even if the OEM/Carrier chooses to go with a different browser.
SIM_TKit: another odd one; IMHO should be there as it's one of the dependencies for the SIM address book.
Cheers,

Big thanks, Twisted, respect.
BUT, lol, same situation, as before - common.rar cannot be unpacked from archive....multiple CRC errors. :(

@pupakota : There is some problem with your connection/downloading software etc. All the packages posted are working fine here buddy :|

@pupakota:
Could also be the version of the extraction tool you are using. Sometimes older versions of WinZIP, WinRAR, etc. will produce errors during extraction of archives that were created with a newer version.
I often use IZArc (www.izarc.org) in cases like this to confirm that isn't the problem. It's free for personal use.

Thanks for replies. But this is weird...
I downloaded file(s) from rs, then mediafire 1st location, then mediafire given by Twisted, tried to unpack these three with winrar, 7zip and izarc then with TC and its internal unpacker, and imagine - same error.
Plenty space on hdd, common.rar from archive cannot be unpacked.
Gods are telling me i should forget about 21056 :D
I have ZERO problems with dozens of rars, zips, 7z's i am downloading, this is puzzling.

Strange indeed.
Your description reads like an anti-virus or other detection program might be causing the issue.
Another possibility, although remote, is that you need to empty out the TEMP folders:
%TEMP%
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
Could also be worthwhile to run a Disk Check (CHKDSK) on the system to cleanup any partition inconsistencies.
Cheers,

here's the ppc kitchen files, hope it would work now.

you can just convert them to your kitchen format.

Yup, this is exactly what i needed. thank you, sir.
Btw, i couldn't unpack these previous packs on another machine too, regardless of method.
upd: indeed, 21056 feels faster than 21014 or 21054, GUI is VERY responsive.
Thanks a lot, guys.

It seems that my custom ROM is generating debug files in a root folder called HTCLog.
The files that are created are:
HTCExcptnLog_XXXXXX.txt (XXXXXX are random numbers)
DbgToStorageLog0.txt
DbgToStorageLog1.txt
Does anyone else have this as well? If so is there a way to disable it?
I've tried to change the RGU file in OEMDrivers:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Debug]
"DebugFlag1"=dword:0 (default: 435)
"DebugFlag2"=dword:20No result I'm afraid.
Even tried to set them both to "0". Same result.

No it's not it.
Search in diamond section (or Raphael?) for DebugTools, run the debugtool and for 5th option (debug mode) write 0 instead of 435 or 43D (or whatever is there), and click on Write. Softreset and you're done. For some unknown reason, you have set up to create logs :).

Thank you for your quick response! Already started some reverse engineering. Hope to be able to let you know what was causing this.
Edit: The value is already at "0". Still investigating :(
Problem seems to be solved! replaced the nk.exe with an older file and now it does not seem to generate any dedug files anymore :)

Downloaded and after putting missing parts
Cannot confirm "missing parts"(no time for porting now), but i noticed, that using normal methods of extracting WHOLE archive(by..7zip, winrar and few freeware extractors) is giving SOMETIMES WHOLE missing(EMPTY) folders.
Extraction by copying FROM archive with TC gives PROPER extract.
This is WEIRD and i saw this MANY times.
I did not find ANY relation to extractor VERSION so far.
Just weird.
Regardless of above i had ZERO problems with Alexx packs so far.
upd: but This IS weird.

If you want it to match you need to open the dsm from the MSXIPKERNEL with DSM Editor and change it to 21057.

I was not trying to get it to match. My suspicion is like post above, since they are all the same build number in the packages that some made them all the same instead of a "TRUE" new build.

What if you convert module to file and then convert the file to a module? Would the dates change? Unsign, reshack and resign?

aww right...quick port, with cut off wisplite, kbds, and m$ today plugins.
boots ok, works ok, speed similar to 21898 with 6.1 tsk(=feels FAST), imho better than 21054, or 56(or it's my memory loss).
very good mem mgmt(MUCH better than on 21054 and 21898), so far no significant memloss.
fabulous word 2010(external pack) doc loading performance while using small sd cache(730 kb doc loads in 3 secs).
great xnview load pic performance(better than with 21898), much faster thumbs creation.
whatever that build is, so far, so good. reminds me outstanding 21014. i hope that build is not batt hungry..will see.
upd: emulators(snes9xjvu, n0p psnes) performs better, than on 21014, and better than on 21898, damn :D
ALPHA OF SCUMMVM WORKS!(unlike as on 21898!!!). Lands of lore, here i come:D

i checked recmod, and timestamp changes after using it. no time for further tests.

What packages if any did you have to add to get a booting ROM?
