View Full Version : Xda Orbit without life - nightmare...

Symptoms: Orbit looks like dead. When I plug in USB cable (with battery) nothing happens (same with AC charger). When I remove battery and plug in USB cable (or AC charger) red light just blink one or two times and - nothing happens (no light at all). I put battery back (both when USB cable is still plugged in and without USB cable or charger) - and nothing happens (yup, I know, it's nightmare).

Reason (possible): I gave Orbit to my friend just to test it for few days (he wants to get one). He (probably) tried to update ROM (he told me that), and something goes wrong. After that my Orbit is without life... Completely...

I used search function and there are different (similar) problems, but not the same like mine (solutions: soft reset, hard reset, flash from SD, motherboard malfunction etc).

Most of you here are experts, so - what you think? Maybe flash from SD (but it seems scary when phone is totally dead)? Something else?

Thanks for answers.

Cheers!

Thanks for answer, I will definitely try that tomorrow. I never done it before.

I don't have SD card in phone now, and when I try to start bootloader nothing happens (no message, error, light, other signal that my phone is not completely dead etc). Bootloader only starts if you have SD card inside or it starts no matter if you have it or not - but it shows error if something is not ok with files?

oh yes there was some trick you should remove sim,sd and battery, plug usb cable in...and try to fire it up or flash it...can't remember, but there surely was a thing ;)

wiki says:

you need to flash it with the SD card flashing (info are in the wiki too). start flashing it by pressing the RECORED and power button while your device is off.

and sd flashing is described in the link i provided...
