Hi guys.... got hold of a htc touch elf....but i really donno how much shud i pay for it. The condition is quite good with all the original accesories. so how much shud i pay for it?
also i see dat the upper layer of the screen has sum scratches. so can any1 tell me what part shud i change to make it scratchless? or shud i change the whole lcd?

You need to change a digitizer, they are fairly cheap and easy to replace, you can also match the color of a digitizer to the color of the housing. I would not consider it a major decision-breaking point when buying a second hand Elf. As far as price is concerned, judging by what Elf are sold for in NZ, I say $100-$120. I have one and like it a lot. Would prefer Elfin, due to RAM, but the available ROMs don't make it a terribly pressing point for me.

thx for da help again..... i finally bought it for around 90$ n spent 10$ for da digitizer.. looks brand new now, cause it seems da original housing is scratchproof...n found 1 more thing wen i checked deeper. lolzzz its aint an elf ,its elfin ;) hey 1 more query.... i find the touch screen response to be a bit shabby. not at all like the universal. is it just me or all the elf/elfin got dis prob????

The response is not shabby, just slightly different, although there is always a potential your digitizer, being non-OEM, has a different responce. But yes, it does feel different to Uni, but not shabby. Uni's digitizer is attached directly to the LCD, while in Elf/in it is suspended above the LCD and is independent in a sense that it is not glued on. I don't have a problem with my Elf's sensitivity, not sure how bad your problem is, but it would be better to address it in Elf/in forum, rather than a marketplace.
