Ich habe mich dazu entschlossen, das Wizard-ROM-Projekt abzubrechen, da ich keine Lust mehr habe ohne Dank etc. hier Arbeit zu investieren. Ich selbst habe einen Charmer, hatte es aber gerne getan. Bei Hunderten von Downloads kaum Resonanz :( ... wie auch immer ...

wer ein deutsches WM 6.5.x ROM für seinen Wizard sucht hat hier eine sehr gute Alternative zu meinem (danke Cyberdyne):

I've been using xda's ROMs, but he hasn't had time to work on them in a while, so his is still an older build with the old interface. You're ROM appears to be pretty clean as well, which is something I've been looking for. I would try a Cracing ROM, but I don't really want the modified start menu.

I downloaded yours, but haven't flashed it yet... I'll let you know how it goes once I do.

The Backlight Settings do not run on my wizard, its a white screen!
I can´t use EzInput in this ROM, i have installed the CABs but changing the Input do not match.

Die Beleuchtungseinstellungen funktionieren nicht, wenn ich sie öffne kommt nur ein weißer Bildschirm.
Ich kann EzInput nicht benutzen, hab die CABs installiert und hab auch die Eingaben zur auswahl aber es kommt dann immer wieder die standart Eingabe-Tastatur.

Sonst finde ich das ROM super!!!

Hab da noch nen Fehler gefunden.
Unter Einstellungen -> Sperren funktioniert die Funktion
"Lock device whenn display is turned off" nicht.
Wenn ich das Häkchen setze, auf OK gehe und dann wieder reingehe ist es dann nicht gesetzt. Funktionieren tuts auch nicht!

Ach ja, gibts eine Möglichkeit das WM7Projekt (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=504716) auf deutsch zu übersetzen???

Da Microsoft derzeit dabei ist alles zu ändern und auch dieser Menüpunkt Englisch statt Deutsch ist, nehme ich mal an, dass es seitens Microsofts demnächst funktionieren wird. Einfach mal abwarten... Hab es probiert und es geht tatsächlich nicht. Warten wir auf das nächste Release.

Because of the new gui of wm 6.5 there are some problems with the end key and so on... - i think in some time it is solved - htc taskmanager you will find when you press in upper bar right of the clock, there you can close apps.
Speech Recognition i will fix soon... Keyboard will be fixed too.

The wizkb software did the trick.
Had to put my keyboard lay-out in french-belgium.

Sorry to say. Perhaps this also has to do with the same issue as the long press end key, but usb to pc is also in german and the wechseldatenträger option hasn`t worked yet.

the WLAN-Problem in Dutch ROM is fixed - install attached CAB and restart. The Problem with the little bit of an icon in "Vergrendelen" is known, but i don't want to fix it - i believe in one of the next MS-Builds its fixed.

I got the problem that I'm not able to do that. When I try to install my original Provider ROM (O2 Germany) with the original Update tool i get the Error that the Update tool is too old and that i should try a new one.
When I try to update via RUU MUN i get the Error 238 which says that the utility can not open the requested file and tat i should check my update utility.

So what can i do now?

Hi,

My experience is that you can flash it no matter wich rom you have.
I did it with 6.0, 6.1 and windows mobile 5.
What i noticed was that when you flash this rom, all present data isn't erased, so i would flash the cleanest rom you can find first and then this one.

ok, now i seem to be in big trouble.

I tried to flash the rom without downgrade to wm5. Then i got stucked in splash screen. So i flashed an old o2 rom that i fould in the xda-wiki.
Unfortunately that was an G3 rom and now im stuck in splash screen again with an IPL 1.05 and SPL 2.21.0lip. My old ipl was 2.21.0001.
So what to do now?
Did I brick it?
Damned i wished i never tried to flash it.

Isn't it possible to use an original ROM from a different provider?
Like say t-mobile?
Mine is from t-mobile and they have a original version online.

Just an idea. Don't know if anyone else agreas, but it's something i would try.

You get a splash screen wich means it still boots, but has no (valid) operating system.

2.21 means that it is a G4 device.
G3 also has a different way of flashing, or so i have read in these forums.
Stick to G4 roms.
And search the forums to see if there is a way to fix the ipl/spl.
I can`t look for u right now sorry.

Hi, I just installed WM6.5 (v0.9.4 by cYBERdEL). As first I want to say thank you for your great work. :)

Is this normal, that some fonts are huge (sometime I really feel this OS is created for blind users :eek: ). For example if WM6.5 tells me it's connecting to Internet, the Connection-message uses the whole(!) display! :eek:
Did I somewhat wrong? Wrong font size? Missing fonts?

I had WM5 from O2 before, since WM6.5 I always get such Message if I boot my device:
Die Datei "Init_Tray" kann nicht geöffnet werden. Sie ist entweder nicht mit einem vertrauenswürdigen Sicherheitszertifikat signiert, oder eine ihrer Komponenten kann nicht gefunden werden. Wenn das Problem weiterhin besteht, versuchen Sie, die Datei neu zu installieren oder wiederherzustellen.
I'll try to translate:
The file "Init_Tray" cannot be opened. Either it isn't trusted with a security certificat, or some of your component isn't found. If the problem still occurs, try to reinstall or recover the file.
I feel my device is still trying to load deleted O2-Files, isn't it? (I think so because there are some apps, which is from O2 like "Homezone Control".
Following apps isn't working and I get the same error like the problem with "Init_Tray":
Name displayed in "Start-menu" / Filename displayed in Error-message
- ClearVue PDF / WTCVPDFV
- Download Agent / dlagent
- Kamera / Camera

Other problem, I cannot sync with my Exchange 2003. The status of Active Sync tells me:

I just tried to hardreset under wm6.5, now it look like I expected. Every "missing" applications disappeared and Active Sync is working (I used the old Active Sync before :eek: ).

Now I'm happy. Before that I was a bit disappointed because in some apps I thought, M$ didn't implement new features (but it was because I used the old WM5 version :rolleyes: ).

I think it would be a good idea if you tell the newbies (I was such one ;) ) to hardreset after upgrade. But... shouldn't it happen by itself?!? :confused:

after flashig the Phone stop in Bootscreen.

Now I have flashd back a other 6.5 Version, not so good locking.

The pfone is now working fine.

Is it nessesery to go back to wm5 first?

Is there a tweak/hack (regedit?) to enable amber-light if there are any notification (like new SMS/eMail). Mine keeps blinking green even if I got new messages.

Hi, I upgraded to newest build. Thank you! Now Todo-App (Aufgabe) is available and the graphic glitches seem to be gone (the graphics-glitches of the buttons at bottom are gone).

There is still 2 bugs I found out:
- In Message (like SMS) try to write "pizza". ;) You'll notice if you enter "zz" then its replaced by "Z" so if you enter "pizza" you'll get "piZa". :confused: :rolleyes:
- I cannot use WLAN since I'm not using DHCP here. The problem is, I cannot enter IP-Address/Subnet/Gateway properly since only 2 chars is allowed in every numbers. Which means I cannot enter "192.168.0.1" but "19.16.0.1". Same with Subnet instead of "255.255.255.0" I can set to "25.25.25.0" which of course will not work. :( But DNS (in next page) is working.

I think the problem with IP-addresses is a major bug, which should be reported to M$.

@Cyberdel: Do you like this type of bug-reports? What do you do with these? Report this to M$ or are you trying to fix the problem yourself?

Btw. "Phone-Firewall" is funny. I could block the calls of my boss. :D

Well, I tried several times to build a ROM for Wizard and I used the guide from Haseeb (XDA2) but I don't understand it.

Downgrade FIRST ore else your stuck on first boot !!!!!!
I only got stuck on first boot when upgrading from a WM6.1 ROM. There I hade to downgrade to WM5 first. From WM6.5 to a newer build of WM6.5 I never had to downgrade first. The safe way is to downgrade every time!

First of all I need to say its good meal you cooked!

I put it in my G3 Wizard without any problems.
I had Xions 0.7 with manila before and I want
manila back but also wm6.5

Tried a lot of versions but needed much space. What I want is:
- Album
- Outlook Enhacement
- Audiomanager
- Taskmanager
- M2dc
- Manila2d
on internal Storage and

- Google Maps
- Opera
- Youtube
on Storage card. In German of course.

Do you have any ideas to realize it?

Another question to you Rom:
How many space needs java? It's possible to remove?
Cabs I always install are: finger keyboard and regeditor

First of all, great you have done this ROM.

But there are a few things I like to know. I'm actually reading (until my Wizard will be delivered) a lots of Wikis and Tutorials. But I havent found any Information (exept for the similiar unanswered questions in other topics and forums) about the meaning of COM3 and COM4. Got it something to do with the G4 or G3 Version of the Phone? AND Why is here an Hard and Soft Version offered for both Versions??? Ive read nothin about the need for Hard or Soft in order to use with an G3 Device ???

More precisous: Which of those 4 (GER) Downloads is for G3 Devices and which is for G4?

Can I use this Tutorial for these ROMs?

Did you downgrade previously to WM5? That you need to do before you flash WM 6.5... best WM5 is wizard_love_ROM (http://rapidshare.com/files/8651097/Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar)
Do you have acces to the boot screen (the 3coloured screed with some IPL/SPL info on top and if you plug in the USB then you should also have a USB text in the bottom)? If you have that the you need to download Wizard_love_ROM and flassh it.
After flashing that ROM you can flash WM6.5 with HARD-SPL or SOFT-SPL version which ever is your case...(CID locked or CID unlocked device)...

At ti9me i can't nothing do anymore. My Wizard do not start up. He is freezing at the moment, where showing the IPL and SPL. And then the screen is freezing. No i had no wm 5 before. I had first the WM 3.8 and then i followed the discription "WM6 installation for newbies". I had unlocked my phone, CID unlock, IPL and SPL 3.08 an then i had wanted to upgrade my phone to 6.5 with hard SPL. After this procedure he want to restart buit nothing goes. And now i don't know how i can solve it.

What is WM3.8? You mean that you had some kind of ROM with version 3.8?! We want to know if you had WM5, WM6, WM6.1 or WM6.5.

First to do:
Switch of your phone! Charg it till the light is green!

2nd:
Hold ComMgr- and VoiceRecorder-Buttons (left and right side of your phone) and switch it on. You should get a black screen with the text. "Press Send to restore factory defaults, Other keys to quit". Now press the green button (lower right on the front).
You just made a Hardreset. Let us know if that helped.

if not
3rd:
Switch of your phone again. Hold only the VoiceRecorder-button and switch it on again. Now you schould see the Rainbow-Screen. Connect ur phone via USB with your PC. You should see the word "USB" on the lower left. Now try to flash a WM5 ROM.

After flashing that ROM you can flash WM6.5 with HARD-SPL or SOFT-SPL version which ever is your case...(CID locked or CID unlocked device)...

Hard SPL = for CID locked Phones?
Soft SPL = for CID unlocked Phones?

and both Versions doesnt matter if the Device was at the beginning of the flashing a G3 or G4 Device?

So if I read the CID State out of my Phone with Wizard Service Tool and that says CID UNLOCKED, I can use the Soft SPL?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SoftSPL and HardSPL are both only for G4 Wizards! You may not use either for a G3 Wizard! G4 Wizards are never CID-Unlocked and that is why you need Soft or HardSPL.
G3 Wizards must be CID-Unlocked to flash a custom ROM. Without CID-Unlock you cannot flash and if it is Unlocked you can just use the RUU tu flash. No SoftSPL or HardSPL for G3 Wizards ever!!!

Hallo,
habe ein Wizard G4 von Tmobile mit WM5.

Habe das Update ausgeführt.
Beim Start kommen immer die Fehlermeldungen
Init_tray.exe, elatepushservice.exe, sddaemon.exe nicht vorhanden.

Wenn ich Kontakte abspeichern möchte läuft alles ganz normal vom Vorgang, aber die sind anschliessend, nach dem Speichern, nicht gespeichert. Beim hinzufügen von Notizen sind nach dem Speichern nur wirre Zeichen in der Notiz enthalten.

Wenn ich diese Fehler beseitigen könnte, finde ich das ein Super Rom.

Leider kann ich keine Aufgaben erstellen und keine Kontakte Speichern.
Notizen geht jetzt.

Deine Fehlerbeschreibung hört sich ganz danach an, dass Du nach dem Flashen keine Hardreset durchgeführt hast. Mach das und es wird sicherlich funktionieren!

[Edit2] Ich hab mit dem Wizard Service Tool leider gerade festgestellt, dass er bei CID-Actions und READ CID Block anzeigt, dass das Gerät CID-Locked ist...
Kann das sein? Ich hab den CID-Unlock ja schon mal durchgeführt, als ich das O²-Rom geflasht habe... Mach ich den dann einfach noch mal?

Hi, thanks for working on this rom. (excuse me about my very bad English)
It doesn't work for me. I downgrade to WM5 (official T-Mobile version) and I don't install the t-mobile stuff by softresetting the Vario when it wants to install.

My Vario is a C4 and the CID lock is gone.
Then I upgrade with the wm65_wizard_chome_v0.9.6_NL_hard.

After the reset, I got the message that welcome.cab (and others too) don't have a trusted certificate. Or some components can't be found.
What can be wrong?

After installing the T-mobile rom my phone works again but I want to use your work!

My wizard is a VF VPA CompactII G4. As adviced many times in this thread, I have first flash the original VF WM5 ROM. Then I have flashed the v0.9.9.C3 GER SOFT-SPL (23075) ROM. After a hardreset and reboot I have installed the programs from the ExtROM directory. Now at every startup I gets the error "not possible to execute sddeamon". What is the reson for this error?

I my former WM6.1 ROM there was a function "remote SIM access" for bluetooth availible. This function is needed for bluetooth phone in some VW cars. How can I get this function in WM6.5?

I made the hard reset after flashing but nevertheless I gets a fault at every startup. The fault text is "Die Datei "sddaemon" kann nicht geöffnet werden. Sie ist entweder nicht mit einem vertrauenswürdigem Sicherheitszertifikat signiert, oder eine ihrer Komponenten kann nicht gefunden werden. Wenn das Problem weiterhin besteht, versuchen Sie, die Datei neu zu installieren oder wiederherzustellen.".
There are also some missing translations. Wenn a reminder should be closed, the complete menu is still in English. Also the warning during shitch off is still in English.
An other problem I have seen in the commanager. Sometimes when I start the commanager, I have a slide bar at the right screen side. When I use this slide bar, there is no function. When I move to the lowest position, it is not possible to switch on or off any function anymore. Also when I go back to the highest position with the slide bar, the functions are not possible to switch on or off using the touch screen.

Sorry guy, but i can't help you, because there are much missing things of your side. Such as version of my rom you are using, your device details etc.
Translations are not finished by ms, because its beta!!! But from build to build its nearly finished. At this time i use build 23088 and nearly (i dont see english till now) all is translated. sddaemon problems are fixed in newer build by me. In CommMgr there aren't problems for me (build 23081+) other builds i haven't check.
