Im sorry if this has been posted (and im assuming it has) but I could not find what i'm looking for.

I rooted my phone using Recovery Flasher and installed CyanogenMod v4.0.1 and now I'm wondering how I can flash my phone back to the factory default US T-Mobile MyTouch 3G ROM? (For Warranty reasons if I ever need to send it in)

I figured I could download the ROM located here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533641

and just rename it to update.zip and flash the phone in the recovery mode. Would that work?

Also i cannot enable the HTC keyboard I have selected Touch Input but the default android keyboard still pops up? There is no option to dissable the android keyboard?

One last question since I have the MyTouch which has 256MB ROM for apps would it be worth it to even use Apps2SD?

You will want to reboot into the Recovery Mode, and restore the Nandroid backup (You should have made this when you first went to install the Cyanogen Rom). As long as you haven't made another Nandroid backup, then your factory backup should be the latest one.

Once the restore is done, reboot your phone and let it load into the factory android install.

You will then need to open the Recovery Flasher App and restore the backup Recovery Partition that you should have created when you first made use of the Recovery Flasher app.

Hopefully this makes sense. You can also check: www.theunlockr.com

For video instructions.

Hope this helps?

Well unfortunately I never made a Nandroid backup i just followed the tutorial from lifehacker which seems like a mistake now.

http://lifehacker.com/5342237/five-great-reasons-to-root-your-android-phone

The only backup that I did make was with Recovery Flasher and im guessing that was just a backup for recovery mode and root.

So am I completely screwed?

Last night a friend had me install CyanogenMod v4.0.2 on his MyTouch and this time a made a Nandroid backup. Will the Nandroid backup from his MyTouch work on mine flawlessly?

I know this thread is somewhat old but i just need a quick question answered.

If I restore the phone using the tutorial that has been posted will I be able to get Over The Air updates?

You should be able to....
If you're on T-Mo (may work for others), you can do the following:

To make your Android phone "Check In" for the latest software, follow the steps below:

Important note: Developer, non-T-Mobile software versions and rooted devices cannot receive the Over The Air (OTA) update.

1. Go to the homescreen.
2. Tap on Dialer - to open the dialer screen.
3. From the dialer type *#*#checkin#*#* (that is *#*#2432546#*#*)
4. If the ‘checkin' is successful, the device will display "checkin result success"
Note: Checkin results may take up to 12 hours to display
5. Return to the homescreen.
6. Press the Menu key.
7. Select Settings.
8. Scroll down, and select About phone.
9. Select System updates.
10. If an update is available, you should see the update downloading.
11. When the download is complete, you will be prompted to Install (now or later)
12. If you chose not to install, you will be reminded every 2 hours.
