It had to happen, I am usually so careful, my phone case came off my belt and dropped by the driver side door. I didn't notice it until I was on the road. Sent my daughter out to get it and found that I had driven over the phone. The invisible shield had kept it from shattering and it is still working. I think all I need to do is replace the lcd digitizer, but I'm really bummed out. I loved my diamond. :(:(:(:(
Question is; I've got permission from the better half to get a new phone, what is the best option for an upgrade under 600.00 USD?:confused::confused:
I've resurrected an old Pantech Duo to tide me over, and I am going to buy a new phone in two weeks when more money comes into the house. Let me know which way to go.:cool:

I've always wanted a Touch HD. Bigger screen (WVGA) is the main point for me. I don't know how much it costs in US, but over here in Malaysia, could get it for slightly less than RM2000 (roughly USD600).

I would like US 3g also, I've been seeing that the Diamond II and the Touch HD standard versions only support European 3G. I know the HD version that has US 3G is the T8285. The Diamond II version I think is the upcoming warhawk. They downgraded the cam in that version of the diamond II to 3.2 MP from 5.0 MP. I hate that but I wonder if it makes any difference.

Well, 5.0MP cam to 3.2MP cam makes no big difference (unless you're using your phone to take pictures for blown up reproduction later, which I highly doubt so).
I don't quite like TD2 of the big space at the bottom of the screen. Having the zoom panel there is just taking up valuable space.

I'm assuming you are in the US {you stated $600US} & that you are on AT&T {Go from Diamond to Duo}. First off, as long as you qualify for an upgrade, you can get any phone your provider has for less then $600. Personally, I suggest looking aroung the web for unlocked GSM phones. Other countries have much better phones then what are offered in the US. Currently Japan is playing with 4G phones, whereas the US is barely on 3G.
Click on the "Device Database" tab at the top of this screen. It will take you to PDADB.net which has extensive data on all PDA/PPC devices available & upcoming.
