To fix it, you need to delete this value: "Redirect"="" from the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone].

Hello,

thx for the kitchen!!!!!

Iīm trying to cook a german rom. Can you tell me which registry keys I have to change that make "the rom thinking" that it is a german rom? How can I make the 407 language files are used in the rom without renaming to 409?

Regards,
Timo

ps: I like your rom in WWE, but many others will love it with a german translation!

Thanks again Tomme45i. I've used the kitchen to cook a slightly tweaked version that is perfect for me. Fast, Stable, plenty of storage. Awesome job, and we will certainly miss your efforts here. Enjoy the new phone. Can't wait till the HD comes down a bit in price so I can afford to upgrade.

Edit: Is there any advantage to keeping XPR compression instead of LZX? Speed, Stability?

You must set this keys:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MUI]
"SysLang"=dword:%LOCALE_ID%
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI]
"CurLang"=dword:%LOCALE_ID%

Is there any advantage to keeping XPR compression instead of LZX? Speed, Stability?

From my test it appears that LZX is slower than XPR, so I decided to stay with XPR. If 70MB free storage is still not much for you od device with 128MB internal storage, I might suggest you to use Storage Card :D

Thanks for your reply. I was curious what your reasoning was. Sounds like good advice. I do use an SD, but I usually install apps to the phone for speed. I think I'll try a cooked version using both compression methods and decide which I'd rather have. I think you are right, the amount in your ROM is probably sufficient.

Thanks again.

Sure, this is the only one I've done so far. All that is changed is the removal of Quick Menu and Obex. It's 23017 with LZX Compression.

I don't have the specs right now as I've already modified my installation, but running SPBMS 3, I have 17MB+ free at all times.

Here is something I'm REALLY excited about. Using Tomme45i's Great Kitchen as the base, I've made an M2D v2 Rom that is really cool! It's got a LONG way to go, but it's fun to play with none the less. Very little Ram left available, but it runs TomTom 7 with no lag while on a call, so I don't get it...

Things to pay attention to:

M2D v2
Keyboard
M2D Settings Screen and all the functions that work.
Email Setup Under Settings Screen
Comm Manager
Notifications
Icons across the top when tapped
Not sure how to adjust volume yet...
Connection Setup
Album and Music

More that I don't know about yet.

Hello all.

I'm also a very happy user of your ROM, it's really fantastic.

It appears that if I miss a call, or receive a text message, even after viewing the miss call and reading the text message, the indicator continues to stay on unless I do a reset.

I have played will the notification settings with no luck. Is anyone else experiencing this and if so, is there a solution?

I am currently using the latest ROM dated 08/26/09

and ... I really love ur 6.5 rom and kitchen ... (finally i managed to cook a rom with m2d in 6.5 kitchen) which rocks ... but at the end i ended up with 18mb of ram ... which is not bad at all ... considering i filled the rom to the brim...

anyways ..my question is ... is your 6.1 kitchen stable (ram wise) i mean as stable and leak free as the 6.5 ??

if so ... i guess i'm going back ...to the kitchen ...

Is the 6.1 version different than 6.5 for users of Spb Mobile Shell 3.01?

I am indeed very much enjoying the latest 6.1 at the moment. Tomme's latest ROMS have without a doubt set a new benchmark for all future ROMS.

For users of Spb Mobile Shell 3.01, is there any real difference between having the 6.1 or the 6.5? The spec list in post 1 is after all the same.

Have any Spb Mobile Shell 3.01 users tried both yet and found a preference? If so, what was the reason?

Mattster.

i've used spb and went back to m2d cause I find it much more suited for my personal use.
I hated the amount of battery spb used up...

As a previous user of spb I see no real advantages on 6.5 or 6.1.

I personally use 6.5 because I love the big softkey menus and the speed advantage over 6.1. As we left the 6.5 start menu out of the picture and we still don't have any 2303X build there is no real advantage except for those.

Anyways in 6.1 I never had a snappier, more stable rom than this 6.5 017... I use m2d, s2u2, and a pretty phonepad and I still have 20-21mb free at all times... on 6.1 I was happy if I had 18...
I can run tomtom, igo, opera without shutting down a thing!

Notice I have 15 Programs open at the same time, Including TomTom and Camera! Also, I'm running Microsoft Voice Command 1.3MB, AutoHibernate.exe, ASyncKiller.exe, FingerKeyboard, and a Bluetooth Connection, in the background...

Image #3:
Notice TomTom is programed to run from California to Boston Mass, and it did it with NO Lag!

Image #4:
Notice the Free Ram. 7.5MB WITH all 20+ programs running.

Image #5:
After running this ROM for 2 days without restarting, Opening and closing multiple programs, including the screen shots shown, then closing everything, the system automatically brings itself to 23.13MB free (about 1 min after the last screen shot was taken).

ROM history:
I've cooked a custom ROM from the newest Kitchen. I've left out a couple things, and modified a couple others. I've got the Page Pool set to 0 which allows Windows to Manage Page Pool size automatically. So far, not a single glitch running this ROM. I'm very happy with it. This kitchen is nice to work with.

PS: Photos were taken with my ATT Tilt in a dark room. That's why they are a bit goofy.

You are absolutely right tomme45i, normally, it does not work well. But, for some reason, using your kitchen, it's working smoothly, and as you could see in the images, it still manages memory quite well. I haven't noticed any decrease in speed.

For the previous poster, setting 0 does not keep it at 0, but rather allows Windows Mobile to change the PP as needed. Normally, this does not work well, but so far, in this kitchen, it seems to be ok for me. must be some sort of configuration tomme45i has done...

PS: This was posted from my P3600. Internet works really good.

PPS: I'm trying all sorts of things w this kitchen because it works so well, it's allowing me to try things that would not normally work. I recommend others do the same. New concepts come from trying things not done before. This kitchen allows that. :)

Hey Tomme,

Sometimes when I'm typing using the FingerKeyboard the Start menu suddenly appears and I start hitting menu items instead of letters. I can't seem to work out if this is just be being stupid and hitting another part of the screen or if this is a bug in the keyboard software. It's not too much of a problem as you can just press where you want to type and the menu disappears again but it's a bit annoying.

Anyone else suffer from this?

I can't seem to work out if this is just be being stupid and hitting another part of the screen or if this is a bug in the keyboard software. It's not too much of a problem as you can just press where you want to type and the menu disappears again but it's a bit annoying.

Anyone else suffer from this?

Yes, it's a Trinity defect. I think all Trinity devices have this behavior, but in some devices it's worse.

I think it's worse when you use the finger, if you just use the stylus it's better (less contact area with touchscreen)

In the past someone developed an app that minimize this issue, it should be availabe somewhere in this forum. Just search :D

I use it. it's called topbar. just a tiny small executable you run on the startup. It works perfect but on the other hand you'll lose a bit of sensitivity around the edge of the screen. sometimes i have to press "a" with my fingernail for it to work.
give it a try!

I think you'll find that the language needs to be changed immediately after flashing (go to Settings / System / Regional Settings). For an example, if you install Spb MS3.01 before changing the language, you'll be stuck with a Polish version.

Thats exactly what I want to change... How can I "remove" the polish settings. I want to have the regional settings in german at first start.

Next Problem: which file I have to edit to get the settings folder work? Are the shortcuts in initflashfile.dat or somewhere in the registry?
Because I miss the whole folder structure and shortcuts at start/settings. In MS3 it's working, but I think it has his own shortcuts.

thx, Timo

Repeating and freezing notification problem.

Hi all.

Has anyone else experienced when receiving a text that the notification sound and message repeats continuously like 20 times, with no pause inbetween!!!?

It also happens sometimes when I click on the Quick Menu battery indicator to see how memory is going. The notification box flickers and won't go off.

Both have happened to me three times now, randomly (not all the time ).

I haven't experienced either of these yet. Are either of these cooked versions? The crashing, possibly a replaced/removed keybard issue?

It appears that if I miss a call, or receive a text message, even after viewing the miss call and reading the text message, the indicator continues to stay on unless I do a reset.

I have played will the notification settings with no luck. Is anyone else experiencing this and if so, is there a solution?

Hi James,

Did you find a fix for this? I think I am experiencing the same thing. Notifactions in general seem to be unstable maybe...

If you show the App.reg Editor the last file is named yyy_mysettings. There are the following lines near the bottom:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls]
"DefaultLCID"=dword:00000415
"SystemLCID"=dword:00000415

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides]
"LCID"=dword:00000415

If you replace the 415 with your Country-Code, than you have changed the Country for your whole System.

---------------------------

Now to my big big problem. How is it possible to rename the "Programs" Folder to "Programme"? The 2nd problem is, I didn´t have the "Settings" Folder with Personal, System and Connections inside. After the first boot the folder isn´t there.
When I made the Folder by myself with the File Explorer the whole structure appears.

The Settings folder created by the os himself is located at "Start Menu/Programs/Settings", but he´s empty. So I need it at "Start Menu/Settings"

BTW: I can´t create the folder with the intiflashfiles.dat. If I do so, the Folder doesn´t appears.

thx, Timo

Ok, at the request of a good friend ;) I've decided to post my cooked ROMs here.

All of these will have been done with this Tomme45i's latest 23017 Kitchen because it's the best to play with right now. They are ALL WM6.5 and WWE with Regional Settings set to United States. So with that in mind, I'll post the ROM's RUU file and the modified Kitchen in case anybody wants to tweak them more. I may also drop some cabs I like into the shared folder. If I say Stock, it's not changed in any way except for what's noted. Enjoy! :D

1st; Stock 23017 with a Blue Theme and Blue Dialer:
XPR Compression, 68.13MB Free Storage, 26.51MB Free Ram
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=34452e2a72b9645095af63b7d44918aad8800e1f 7902bc03

2nd; Heavily Modified 23017 to look like the 'Unreleased' HTC Mega with M2D: Bad Memory Leak!!! Still fun to try new features...
This one is in need of a LOT of repair, but I thought I'd release it now in case anybody wants to play with its Kitchen. Take a look and play with it. There's a bit not working, but there are a LOT of cool things in here.
TomTom 7, Google Maps, YouTube, New Mail Account Wizard, New Notifications, New Keyboard, Album not working yet, New Commanager (partly working), Only 2G Dialer without Video, Full Office, Voice Dial Not Working, More...
LZX Compression (It's BIG), 30.28MB Free Storage, 18.80MB Free Ram
No time right now to finish, but here it is in case anyone wants to tweak it more. It has a memory leak, or it just plain uses a LOT of memory. After a day of running, it's only got 10.50MB Free Ram, but it keeps running, so...

How is it possible to rename the "Programs" Folder to "Programme"?
You need to change initflashfiles.dat
From->Directory("\Windows"):-Directory("Programs")
To->Directory("\Windows"):-Directory("Programme"), and each destination path for files.

I didnīt have the "Settings" Folder with Personal, System and Connections inside.
Your control panel and all settings to it is placed in registry, here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel]

I haven't found a fix for it, I usually do a soft reset to get rid of the indicator. Sometimes it works properly, but other times, the indicator light continues to stay on...

I also noticed when being notified of an event, I can't dismiss it right away, it appears to freeze for awhile, and then after about 10 seconds, I can dismiss it... they're minor inconveniences for a very speedy and stable ROM. However, I do agree that the notifications seem to be unstable at times...

There's ALMOST never a stupid question. Feel free to ask anything you need to ask. We all started out not knowing how to do this stuff.

I just created a video tutorial showing how to flash these Self Extracting Zip files and flash the ROMs to your phone. I've used Windows 2000 for the demo. I hope it helps. Let us know if you still have trouble. :D
If you are only getting a black window and don't see the files extracting like in the video, then you've probably got a corrupt download. Try re-downloading and see if that helps.

But now if i changed a softkey to "new sms" with this applet, i obtain an error:

Because of the difference in Ram, I'm guessing the Plugin is taking the 2MB.

tommys rom hav 2 Mb more free ram but i dont know why.Tomme45i has done a great job of stripping down the ROM to a minimum so it runs Fast and Stable with a LOT of free Ram. When you start to add things, you end up loosing some of the speed/ram benefits.

Hello
Because Visual kitchen 1.8.1 set automaticaly the PagaPool to 6 MO when you cook so before launch "CREATE" go to "OTHER" and change PP% to 4 EACH TIME you want to cook .
Or copy the attachment file in TOOLS of your kitchen , it will set PP to the value you have fix with "Xipporterex"

I have been having all types of problems with TomTom 7 on the 6.x rom(s) and Extremely long Satellite acquisition. Been playing with since trinity came out, even had to have the first generation returned for defects. Normally I use the phone for backup or when I'm walking around in a new city. This is the first time I was able to get a fix under 2 minutes on my desk. My radio is 1.56.70.11 :D I must have the wrong ActiveSync (4.5) since I had to use the memory card to load this rom and still can't Sync. Back to playing for this issue.

Stupid question.

So I flashed this ROM like I've done countless others, but I'm having a problem with Titanium/CHome registry entries for CLinks "sticking". Every time I try to change an app path for Titanium using either PHM Regedit or a Chome editor, relaunching the CHome plugin rewrites the reg values to the default, losing my changes! Ack!! (I've checked that they are correct, by relaunching the editor, all with the CHome plugin disabled)

Could someone please tell me what might be doing this? is there an init file or reg entry I need to change?

thanks!

They are in fact broken. I only borrowed the Chome folders from Chanvi's Kitchen and dropped them into Tomme45i's Lite Kitchen. The lite kitchen does not have all the extra programs (thus the stability/speed). So some of the links don't work unless those items are re-installed or cooked in.

I'm having a problem with Titanium/CHome registry entries for CLinks "sticking". Could someone please tell me what might be doing this? is there an init file or reg entry I need to change?

Chanvi is the Master of Chome/Titanium. I'm sure he might have some insight as to what might be happening here. For me, I edited the Reg file before Cooking, and things were the way I liked them when flashed. I've never tried changing after flashing. "23017 Chome Titanium\EXT\Trinity\COMMON\Trinity_External_Packa ges\CHome23016\app.reg"

Could someone please tell me what might be doing this? is there an init file or reg entry I need to change?

thanks!

On the modified version I'm using right now, I tap the Voice Record Buttong below the Power Button which brings up Comm Manager. Then turn off Phone. See if it's avail on your version.
I have been taping on the antenna icon at the top and bringing up the "manager" that way. After looking around, yea, I was able to use the button below the power button. I'll see if I can remember that. Thanks SuperSport.
Had to uninstall the MS Sync and install again, then use the HTC usb driver? but it's talking to the phone. Always found that the MS product a little bit of a pain.
I had AX3L_OS_v3.1.2c_FULL loaded a while back when I was traveling a lot. I would be use the WiFi function up to the aircraft pull-back call and just tap aircraft mode. The 6.1 version had a app bar on the front page that would turn off on the bluetooth and WiFi. I just haven't seen the app I could load to add that easy function. I end up doing a quick site survey with the WiFifofum when ever I setup any wireless routers. These phones pull in better signals than router with 10db antenna.

And again a big thanks to Tomme45i's rom. I have been able to keep everything running with no memory leaks! If only Microsoft had this gift...
Google Maps pull in the 3d sat signal from cold boot under 20 seconds. Noticeably faster operation! Guess I'll keep this phone for another few years!

Hi Alaaassem.

As far as decreasing menu font size, i think your answer is below:

If you want change that, just go to:
Start->Programs->Tools->Advanced Config->User Interface:
Menu bar font size
Popup menu font size

Hallo,
I would like to ask you wheather the ROMs in the opening thread (especially WM6.1) is applicable to both models (P3600 and P3600i) ? Or it is for P3600 only ?
Please excuse my dumb question. I am still triyng to differentiate the both models.

Well, it seems nobody take care for this reply.
Might be it is too strange question...

I will ask another question too. hope this time someone knows:
Do these ROMs in opening thread support SDHC cards ?

Thanks in Advance !

A

P.S. In general: is there any application of teh originally implemented in the device (under WM5), that these ROMs do not support or function with?

Yes, I can confirm up to 8Gb SDHC, and I've heard others with 16Gb working. No special drivers or settings needed. There is some speculation that some cards do not work as well as others though. Give it a shot, and backup regularly. ;)

These ROMS are for P3600 only. I think there are people that know how to convert them to the P3600i, but I only have P3600, so cannot try the conversion. Reply to PS: Most applications should work fine, but there are probably a few that will have trouble. I don't hear about app problems too often when installed correctly.

When I read previous post I wanted to try bluetooth, to see if it works, worked in both directions, a file transferred to a phone, and received a file in SD card, it's very cool, grate and very, very useful because now I can receive very large file.

I have DL the official "WM5 Update" from HTC site, just in case.

PS: I tried to search and read one more time the step-by-step guide at : trinityguides.info, but the site is down. Is there a possibility to get it from somewhere else?

If you have a reliable ActiveSync connection, then that is probably easier. If you have trouble flashing with USB, then try the SD Method. I use both at different times. Keep in mind, you cannot flash from SD using the SDHC.

Also, for anyone interested, here is my latest ROM using this Kitchen. :D It's got a few bugs I'm still working out, but thought I'd share it because it's pretty fun to use. I've created a package from the MotoSurf Home Interface and made it the default for this ROM. Things can be dragged around, and there are other neat features. I've been creating a bunch of packages from cabs lately, and you will see some of them in this ROM, including the very latest TomTom (7.916.9189), Google, and Bing. I've got more, for anyone interested (YouTube, Logmein, Yatzee, FingerKeyboard, The Cool Keyboard in this ROM, Task Mgr). Text messages scroll across the main page when they come in, as do events. Scrolling is MUCH smoother than this demo shows.

Largest bugs so far are that you cannot add items to the Programs list. If someone can figure that out, please let me know. RSS does not work yet.

You can add/remove tabs and even move them around. Look around a bit... I'm finding that a lot of things can be changed in the registry. I'm guessing there is a setup program that is missing that would make the necessary adjustments in a WYSIWYG format.

Sorry, forgot this important thing.

MotoSurf OFF= 27.45 Free and 32.70 Storage
MotoSurf ON= 16.71 Free - OUCH! But it runs smoothly... :)

Also, I'll be updating the downloads, because I forgot to change the default MotoSurf Screen to ON after boot in the Registry, forgot to set 4M PP, and a lot of other stuff. I ran a TomTom route demo from California to New York, and it worked perfectly, even with Moto Home running. Again, not sure how it will hold up over days of use, but at first, it's pretty snappy.

Try setting Favorite Cities Weather as wallpaper to ON... Also, when in Weather Settings, tap and hold city, after small bounce, drag to top to make favorite, as indicated by small star.

I can't seem to pin point where the problem is coming from, but the phone went all "funny" yesterday. I was using the TomTom 7 and saved a favorite and ended the program. Then went to camera mode for the first time. Everything worked like normal, asking where the save the images (Main Memory) and took 3 pictures. Then ended camera, attempted to shut down and it just ignored it. Attempted that several time until I finally had to reboot then shut down. Strange enough. But later, I powered back up and attempted to bring up the contacts. The screen stayed on the today and on the far left in the date area was a white rectangle. I finally had to dial the number manually and even then it got all "funny". reboot again, everything worked normally. But the pictures were all gone from when I just taken them. I made my phone call and finished, attempted to play Bejewed that was installed on the memory card. And it was Slooow. Image movement and everything. Reboot and everything is fine again. I powered up the phone this morning and sync didn't connect. Started to work but it's slow and never synced. Power off took 2 minutes to confirm. Might have to re-boot again. I'm wondering what went all crazy. 92% free/30M then 91% 29M on the upper right side display.

Hi all,

Using Tommie 6.1.21054 and so far loving the rom, it's saved my phone from the old phones pile so far but am having one annoying problem.....

Is anybody else having problems with incoming text messages? Occaisionally (and I mean rarely) I'll be sent a text but the phone wont notify me at all until I press the power button to do something on the phone.....

If It's left in standby it just doesn't tell me theres a new text at all in these occurances, the other day I was sent one at 15:50 and it didnt tell me until I next went to use it some five hours later.....

Other than that it's perfect, the only things I have installed over the basic is a touch pad keyboard and Opera mini.

Any ideas?

tomme45i: the WM6.5 ROM from this thread works great for my P3600 (400MHz). Do you happen to know if there is manila/HTC TouchFlo that works reasonably for Trinity? I've seen posts than manila 3d is too slow for Trinity but I can try like manila 2d. Is there a way to get a .cab with it?

Thanks!

thank you tomme for a really nice roms and kitchen ... good stability and ram management ...
i really love the QM ... but i wanted to see something on my mobile "desktop" ... for that i like the htc options ... htc home ... and m2d ... so i tried to cook a rom with either of them but unfortunately ... i lack the knowlege and the experience ... but i tried ... i picked packages from chanvi's kitchen and used them to cook in ur kitchen ... it worked but it was rough around the edges and not fully functional ... audio and album didnt work in manila and yeah videos didnt work at all even when htc album works
i tried both 6.1 and 6.5

can you please cook a rom with functional m2d ...
and/or htc home

thanks a lot

Same problem for me. Other device gets a message that my Trinity is not able to accept file. Shame.

Has anyone managed to receive files via Bluetooth, using 6.1 or 6.5?

Still wondering if anyone in here has Bluetooth working?

I hear people saying it's an "excellent" ROM, and I totally agree!

BUT.... it would be even better if Bluetooth was working (which as far as I can see it is not).

If someone's found a fix or has bluetooth actually working (send and receive) , can they let us know please?

Thanks,

I use bluetooth once, send and receive, and was working.I don't now why isn't work for you, maybe if you install this rom again will work.I'll use again and I'll post in few hours if is work or not.

Back with details as I said earlier. My Bluetooth works without problems, I transferred and I received file.I installed this rom on 05/09 and I have not used hard reset, is work just fine.

Hi Goalex.

Thanks for letting me know. I now realise bluetooth on the 6.5 Rom is fine. Is that what you are using? If so, maybe it's just the 6.1 Rom build with the issue.

I do think they're both excellent, but given the choice I personally prefer 6.1 as I find the menu and display a little easier to use - this maybe because I prefer using the stylus more than my finger. I also love seeing that extra 2MB of RAM... it may have very little effect on performance, but it still makes me smile everytime I see that 31 MB of RAM just before I restart SpbMS. :D

Hats off to Tomme though, they're both incredibly good Roms.

I like to use my finger more than stylus, I like scrolling contacts and file explorer, I like to receive via Bluetooth directly to SD card and after the restart with spb 3.5 installed I have 25 mb of ram free.

Best regards to you and keep it up, your work is very important, because like my self ( only this year I changed wm5 on my pda-phone) there are many people who start and need advice. I do not think there is any item that you may not appear. :)

Ok Mattster, I HOPE this is good news. Using Tomme45i's Awesome Kitchen, I've cooked a 21054 & 23017, Both with Updated Bluetooth parts (Technical Term). On my computer, I was able to transfer files To and From both ROMs with no problems using Mobile Device Center. Again, whether this will work between phones I don't know, as I have no way to test that setup. If someone could let me know, I'd appreciate it. They are not perfect setups yet, but if I know the BT is working, then I will finish cleaning them up.

Mostly, I'm curious if the BT is working both directions between phones on the 21054 version. 23017 was already working, I just updated it.

I have to admit, it's strange seeing 31MB free!!!

Mattster, I left it UC Compliant in case you wanted to install SPBMS 3.5 from your XDA_UC folder on your SD Card. ;)

Update!! For those not wanting to rename the RUU's and copy them to a ROM Update folder, I just uploaded two Self Extracting Files that will do all the work for you, AND they are slightly smaller. :D
Just download the exe files anywhere you like. Place your phone in the Tri-Color Screen, Run the Exe file, Follow the Flashing Instructions, and that's it. The Self extractor will remove the temp files when done flashing, nice and clean. ;)

I do need to silence the boot up though, in case I need to do a soft reset at work (or in bed at 1am and not wake up the girlfriend!!). I think I remember a startup .wav file somewhere needs deleting or renaming to silent...? Do you recall what it was?

I won't get a chance to test the Bluetooth til tomorrow, I'll let you know!

hehehe nice one Super. That me LOL :D
Will have to put that into my new kitchen as an optional mod for sure.

Mattster, this the registry key that controls it:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation]
"Enabled"=dword:1 ; 0 disable, else enable
"GIFFile"="\\Windows\\HTC.gif" ; max length is 64
"WAVFile"="\\Windows\\Startup_sounds.wav" ; max length is 64
"Volumn"=dword:0 ; the range is from 0(max) to 0x7F(min)

Try just setting that Volumn value to 0x7F :)

Cheers,

Thanks for testing it for me. Yes, the Sound file is: BootUpHTC.wav in the Windows Directory. Just delete it, or change it to anything else you want by renaming a wav file to this name and overwrite it in the Windows Directory.

Edit: Oops! I typed this hours ago, but forgot to send. Just sent and now notice decoy's reply... Just for kicks, here's the new wav I'll be adding for future. Also, the OEM Package I built for it including the new sound byte.

Ok I installed the ROM you changed and indeed Infra Red is working, nice :) I haven't tested bluetooth yet.

But the problem is that now I'm unable to find the option to make Videocalls (I'm on 3g at the moment). On the original ROM from this post bluetooth and IR didn't work but I'm sure that when I pressed the green phone key, next to the dialpad there was a key to do videocall.

I wonder if I will ever find any WM6.5 ROM for P3600 with everything working flawlessly!

From what I'm seeing, and what _X_ is doing, it appears that you get either Video Calling, or Smart Dialing, but for some reason, not both! :(

I'm working on a new 23504 that will have the option of Video Calling or Smart Dialing in the Kitchen so the user can decide which to have. It should be avail tomorrow. As far as I know, the BlueTooth, WiFi and 3G Data are all good.

If you remind me tomorrow, I will rebuild the 23017 for you so that Video Calling works. I realize some people wish to remain with the old 6.5 layout. ;)

Hi all,

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to tomme and all others who enable us to use our phones to their full potentials and our own likings. Came here on my search for a way to enable the trinity gps and then had to look for a ROM with enough free ram to run my navi software. So I have been a quiet reader for some weeks until I dared to do my first flash. Picked this as my first try and already my search has ended with tommes perfect 6.5 ROM. Itīs running straight for some weeks now without a single hard-reset and keeps it`s memory available. Lovely! Now I`m really eager to start to play with Your kitchen :-)

You need to convert this folder (it is called a module) to a file by the kitchen ("From module to file").

i can not copy shellres.96.dll from my windows folder device.
It's the basic system file, so it's very difficult to copy it. Try to use total commander.

While in WM 6.1 ... I am able to choose connections>detect networks which allow me to choose my home networks for mms and gprs automatically .. however in wm 6.5, i cannot find this features. Any help would be greatly appreciated .... thanks in advance

Hi all,
i have been trying both these roms for a while and found them to be among the best and most stable, however, 6.5 is a bit heavier and slower and the menu font is too large to be practical so i went for 6.1.

6.1 is speedier and has normal sized font in the menus but still has other problems i found also in 6.5, mainly:

- sometimes it fails to alert you of new sms messages. The screen will show a new message but no alert will sound. can't replicate this, it just happens sometimes.

- it won't wait for you to input your sim card pin number. When you boot it will stop and wait for the pin number of windows, after that it shows the entry screen for the pin number of the sim card but it doesn't wait for input and goes on with the booting process. i have to manually access the comm manager, turn off the phone and then on again.

- sometimes it will hang after lock/standby. it seems to be related with some applications, i found that i could replicate the problem most often if i had just ran egress or gonews touch. i'd close the program, press the on/off switch on the trinity, wait a few secs, try turning it on again and nothing, it would remain locked until i reseted it, no calls or sms would be received while in this state.

-sometimes the close (X) button is unavailable until you tap some option on the screen, this also happens in the today screen, although it's configured to show memory and battery in the upper right corner, it won't show anything until i tap the start menu.

hope anyone can shed some light on these issues.
thx

Thanks tomme45i for this fantastic rom. Really is uber superb. Previously was running on FlnixNOver v3.7.1 on WM 6.1. Turning to WM 6.5 looks cool & fast. However after switching, I am unable to surf net and retrieve mms via my carrier GPRS/WAP feature. I have attempt to seek the M1 (Singapore) technical helpline but is unfruitful. I am sure its my the settings but am trying my luck here.

While in WM 6.1 ... I am able to choose connections>detect networks which allow me to choose my home networks for mms and gprs automatically .. however in wm 6.5, i cannot find this features. Any help would be greatly appreciated .... thanks in advance

p.s. Running late for work and attempt this post. Will re flash the previous rom to give more details of tab tonight...

Okay I reflash back to my previous rom [P3600i} FlnixNOver v3.7.2 to obtained the actual settings for my gprs & mms settings as follows in the followings steps:

[P3600i] FlinixNOver v3.7.2 - WM 6.1
Start>settings>connections>connections setup>Select operator>operator then click ok
(phone automatically obtained the below settings)

Sunsurf Internet>
General Tab
enter a name for settings> Sunsurf Internet Settings

Modem Tab
Sunsurf Internet Settings
Enter a name for the connection>Sunsurf Internet
Select a modem >Celluar Line (GPRS, 3G)

Access Point name:>sunsurf

Sunsurf Internet
User name:
Password:
Domain:*>

Now I am going to reflash tomme45i wm6.5 version to see if I could replicate the following steps ... stay tune ..... however I do remember that I don't remember seeing the connection wizard anywhere ... wish me luck!

If you are not getting your connections setup properly by ADC (or ADC is removed), you could run the Configuration_Network.cab (http://www.mediafire.com/?mzj0wtemmbe) manually and get the one you are used to from WM6.1

Thanks tomme45i and decoy for all the help .... indeed after decoy advise on installing the Configuration Network.cab ... the connection setup is available in tomme45i wm 6.5 rom.

Just for sharing my experiences....

When I flash tomme45i's wm 6.5 rom
When select start>settings>connections ... there is no connection setup option

However after decoy's advise, I had initially down the Configuration Network.Cab on to my desktop. Made the mistake of unzipping the file on my desktop and copied to my storage device my dopod. The correct procedure is just to copy the unzipped cab into the storage device. Then click on start>programs and select file explorer to point to the cab file on the storage device. After which, soft reset our devices ... viola, "connection setup" selection appears in the connection tab. Clicking on the connection setup will automatically installed your subscriber settings for your gprs/wap/mms. Thanks again guys !!!! ;)

Farewell To Trinity!

Given that Tomme45i's ROMS were by far the best I found for my needs, I thought it fit to say my goodbyes in here! I have just bought a Touch HD (Blackstone) so it's goodbye Trinity!

It's been a great year and a half in the Trinity Forum. I've learnt so much and in the process met some great people. Maybe I'll come across some of you in the Blackstone Forum one day! I do hope so.

Good luck all, pm me if you want to stay in touch!

Mattster.

Yes, prior to using ADC for WM6.5 we used to suggest having that cab set to run from your "sdconfig.txt" so that it ran on first boot after flashing new rom.

IIRC once it has been installed I believe it also adds an icon for the network setup wizard to your Settings->Connections folder.

Glad you got it sorted :)

Thank you for your works! I downloaded and installed this file "AutoFlash 21054 BT Fixed.exe" but I'm still not able to transfer a file from my Nokia 6630 to my Trinity (beam is turn-on and deviced are paired). Do you have any other feedback about?

I'm Sorry about that. Try installing this file and see if it helps.

It should work with quite a few ROMs, not only this one.

Hi, i'm very eager to try out ur 6.5 rom, i've flashed numerous times now but for some reason reason my trinity seems to freeze, i get to the stage where it says it'll silently install available personal programs and my trinity wont respond to anything, is it meant to do this and if so how long should i leave it for?

I'm using olipro 1.20 and radio 1.46.30.11.

Yep, i've tried it a few different ways, i've let it get to that stage first then done a hard reset, re-flashed then hard reset straight after flash, reflashed, waited til it froze then soft reset, waited til it froze again then hard reset, etc etc, none of them seemed to work, as u can imagine i was at my wits end last night just trying to figure out what i was doing wrong. i even re-downloaded it hust incase the file was corrupt but it seemed fine.

I'm using this rom until September and I don't have problems. Flash with wm 5 original rom and after that try this rom(tommi's), maybe will run.

Hello tomme45i,

I very much loved Your 6.5 ROM and have a question regarding Your Quickmenu implementation.
Now I`ve got a Kaiser with a localized 6.1 on which I installed Quickmenu. When I press the side OK button under the jogwheel the whole Quickmenu gets closed. In Your 6.5 ROM when the OK button gets pressed Quickmenu doesn`t close but goes one level up in the folder structure. This is sooo convenient.
Hope You find the time and be so kind to explain how You achieved this behaviour as the normal one is very annoying...

I can just confirm the ROM is very fast and stable. I have put it on a HTC3600 in Sep2009.
Until now working very well, but several times, maybe once per month or two a white screen or blue blinking screen is appeared. In this case you have to push the button under the bottom, for more than five seconds. This leads to Hard reset. But the user is instructed to make backups, so the data loss is minimized.
So, it this could be evited - it will be the best ROM ever, for this device.
