Yes you can!
But I suggest you change its PP to 12 before flashing: you won't regret it!

What I do is modify the PP with PagePool Changer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323269) BEFORE flashing the ROM and it works great...

but i´ve got a big prob with it... the MyLocation service on the home tab is working for my city perfectly but if i tried to add a city to the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml i was not able to update the waether data...

I never change the nearest "big city" in the weather tab and when I update the today weather tab it updates (sometimes with not a great accuracy) with the town I'm in using "HTC location" but I've never got it to work when I regedit the weather tab whatever ROM I use.
My solution: move to the biggest city nearby! :D

This is the first ROM i've ever tried. I'm really a newbie!
It's working quite fine, although, even after "weather patch", it's still confusing and not so cool. You should fix "weather" again. :)

i tried some older roms and also edited the towns in the manila list... there was just one difference: IT WORKED ^^
now i tried it the same way i ever did... with no success...
as i told you the weather update (weather tab) worked with the manila 2d patch... but it causes manila layout crash... do you know where i can find a working patch?? i was looking the whole night for it... with no success :-(

1. Got this problem in the wifi, when ever i try to switch it on it just processes and stops there and after some tries it just disables. It tried both comm. manager and the one from settings->connections and wireless lan.

2. When the same is tried with out the sim card it works perfectly fine, has it got any thing to do with the GPRS connection of mine. I used automatic connections setting to setup the gprs and it is working perfectly fine.

3. Have you got office mobile application embedded by any chance or even an opensource will do.

I think the conflict with EzInput 2.1
you can see in EzInput 2.1 thread, many people ended with Hard Reset because they want to use the EzInput 2.1, so why should use the previous version?

findings:
Initially, M2D flo is damn slow. But after a soft reset increased a bit. 4.1 misses the smoothness of 4.0 in all flo aspects.
Missing the honeycomb, disappointment.
AM works fine.
No issues with time, wifi etc.
When a new sms arrives, icon symbol shows near the sim tower. But the counter is missing in M2D messages icon, as well as the sms is not showing in the M2D messages. Strange!!
Battery is good. No drain as of now.
Lock screen design is bad. The slider is stuck to the left by default,had to swipe it to the extreme right. Is this how you have designed?
Still the time in the lock screen overlaps the bar.

Need some more time to fully test. Will update..

I noticed that when I try to increase the number of launchers in the Programs tab using Manila2D Costumizer (M2DC), the maximum allowed shortcuts are eighteen. Using M2DC tab Launcher Tab Settings, I want to increase the number of columns to four the number of lines to nine, to read thirty-six launchers. How do I enable that I can use these shortcuts, because the ELF SX 4.1 only allows me to place eighteen?

I also noticed that when we put the launchers Programs in the names of the shortcuts are showing up in the bottom of the screen. Have any way to get them?

On the tab Settings, the shortcut wallpaper is not working. What should I do so that it opens the program to change the wallpaper?

After a couple of months of use on my ELF, here is my feedback - see my previous post for details:

Uses less memory - I don't get memory warnings anymore.
Performance (response) is similar overall, except for SMS which is slower because of the threading (which is a great feature)
I can't seem to save my service provider's voicemail number (Orange UK), so I have to dial that separately - no big deal.
I miss the weather skin/app that HTC had - can I re-instate that somehow?

Overall - so good. I can't wait to get an HTC HD2 to run this properly! This really is an iPhone beater at last.

No need for a stylus in normal use. Looks amazing. I just love it.

PS I also have an old spare ELF if you want it for anything, just let me know.

I also found the SMS autocomplete issue, if you can get a fix for that it would be perrrrrfect!
One question about customization: I installed showaco titanium weather, and then all the text is back!:eek: I mean all the titanium items that are normally icons only in SX4.1 lite, are now text for me, no icons.
If I remove titanium weather I can see the icons again, no text.
Where can I find more information to get back the icons? Even with the weather widget?

maybe, i was using your mega rom port, on the internet tab theres no parameter/path to opera and when i look at the registry there is a opera folder but there is no files in it, and also for the internet sharing... no worries

I am currently using the SX 4.1 with M2D on my Elf. I have to say that this is probably the best ROM I have tried yet. It is just a shame that the pretty Manilla eats all of the RAM.
The only comment I have on this ROM is that I would like if the exact battery percent was shown in the status bar in the home screen in stead of the small bars.

I was wondering if the black & green theme file by shifu & amarullz can be downloaded anywhere?

I face a problem in onyx ROM.. and also other ROMs which i have tried..

when my phones backlight is off and some 1 calls up the 1 calling can hear the ring going but my phone doesnt ring . Also the call is not displayed in missed calls.This happens some times and not always.Other times it works very fine.

But in your ROM i dont face this problem.

Also in onyx ROM my service providers name doesnt get displayed it shows some number instead....where as in your ROM sx 4.1 my providers name is displayed.

And yours is the only ROM wherein i dont face these 2 problems.

What i want to know from you is can you tell me why this is happening in onyx ROM and not yours.

What are the packages that you have used that is making the difference.

Is it any thing to do with the connection setup database or any thing else you can think about.

As this is your ROM you must be knowing better what you have used which others have not..

I am currently using the SX 4.1 with M2D on my Elf. I have to say that this is probably the best ROM I have tried yet. It is just a shame that the pretty Manilla eats all of the RAM.
The only comment I have on this ROM is that I would like if the exact battery percent was shown in the status bar in the home screen in stead of the small bars.

I was wondering if the black & green theme file by shifu & amarullz can be downloaded anywhere?

I face a problem in onyx ROM.. and also other ROMs which i have tried..

when my phones backlight is off and some 1 calls up the 1 calling can hear the ring going but my phone doesnt ring . Also the call is not displayed in missed calls.This happens some times and not always.Other times it works very fine.

But in your ROM i dont face this problem.

Also in onyx ROM my service providers name doesnt get displayed it shows some number instead....where as in your ROM sx 4.1 my providers name is displayed.

And yours is the only ROM wherein i dont face these 2 problems.

What i want to know from you is can you tell me why this is happening in onyx ROM and not yours.

What are the packages that you have used that is making the difference.

Is it any thing to do with the connection setup database or any thing else you can think about.

As this is your ROM you must be knowing better what you have used which others have not..

Edit: Updated to ELF SX 4.1 :D Great rom, but checkbox gfx are wrong or strechted. Also radio version is 03.07.90. Can I update to 03.34.90 safely? (My IPL: 2.26.0002, SPL: 2.28.cmon)

I am using Elf SX 4.1 lite with 3.39.90 and it's working great! See my signature ;)

Also I added chinese support, plumsip6, Jbed, mortscript, titanium weather, clauncher, favorite people, and schap's advanced config. So it's not "lite" anymore ;) let's say "semi-lite" but still working perfectly.

but you must be using something which is making your ROm work perfectly on my elfin and not the onyx.. ( related to network )

and there must be some reason why the operators logo not getting displayed in onyx ROm where in yours its is...

The same problem kancruttt .... Audio manager could not be opened and played .. and there is no vibration when the keyboard settings are already in the switch

as posted by deep.arya, I too face the same issue, but not the one related with network, but the one related to incoming calls. Also, this is a new issue, seems like a virus or something,
The volume bar shows up, the radio button selection switches one to another automatically and it never goes off. Soft reset, hard reset no go.

These 2 things are the main thing I switched to ur rom. But, once the above issue happened, did a soft reset and no issues till now.

6.0 looks cool, but the issue reported with AM disappoints me. Can you check and fix it up if its a real bug?

Thanks for your hardwork and we are not comparing your ROM with any other chefs. Each chef would cook a ROM differently, but the one that suits u is the best for them.

I was using the lite versions of SX 4.0 in an Elfin (because the 4.1 had a weird bug in the SMS input line) because the full versions used to run slowly on my device. Now I've updated into the the full version of 6.0, it seems to be running faster (could be that my speed reference has changed?). Good job, really enjoying it, my fab rom.

Now two questions:
- Is there a way to recover the previous skins from the previous versions?
- If there is a need to overclock the device, can it be done in WM6.5?

Just flashed the new ROM this morning. So far, the battery consumption seems good compare to previous version. Although the USSD still not working for me. :rolleyes:

BTW, how can we change the background of touchflo to previous version? I don't like the bubble wallpaper and prefer the wallpaper from HERO. :p

So PP is better at 12 for the ELFin? Tried changing the rom PP using a HexEditor but I couldn't find the string.

I have a question, it's really a basic one; where can I find again the menu to change the function of the 'end-call'-hardware button? I want to change it back into the option where you get a menu when you hold this button.

Another question, is it possible to make Opera mini the default browser in the Manilla internet tab? I tried to change it with the M2DC program, but there you can only link to executables.

This version is one of the best from your stable. KUDOS!!!

Here comes my test report,
1. Install was fine, but the boot screen where it shows Windows Mobile 6.5 should be little bit higher, cos, the tap the screen to setup coincides with the image words. Just my one cent.
2. After boot and after launching touchflo, there is no looking bac. Ready to be used.
3. All worked fine, except AM. Installed the WAlien pack from post #3 and this fixed. I believe, the audio is some wat crystal clear now.
4. Comm manager, the last setting data communication is somewat submerged into the footer.
5. Lock screen is perfect, the time displays in correct position. But when we keep a long date, month name expanded, then the year goes off the screen.
6. TouchFLO is really like a flo. Swiping between menus is too good.
7. Disappointment again on the start menu, my fav honeycomb is missing. But why?

Test is still going on and no issues till now.

Edit: Installed the 4 row cab, start menu luks congested, and the hexagons are not visible much to the eys due to the dark wallpaper. Removed and installed the standard cab, now the start menu luks evenly distributed but still the hexagons are not visible. wil stick to it anyways.

I have been really busy these days and couldn't find time to upgrade. But now I have! SX 6.0 lite! :D
The first time I noticed I had a ridiculously low level of free RAM:mad:
But after a hard reset it seems to be fine.
I installed the following:
-Chinese support + plumsip6.1
-Esmertec JAVA on SD card + Opera mini
-Titanium weather by showaco
-Clauncher and ATcontacts

Plus a bunch of programs I have on SD card and dont need reinstall, just the shortcut.:D
Still have 63%RAM usage at startup.
Seems fast and stable so far (1 day using it), I am even trying threaded SMS (I wasn't a big fan, mainly because of its slowness, but in this ROM seems to be slightly faster).

I'm searching for the smallest possible application that will turn OFF the screen when a call is connected.

I know s2u2 will do that, but I don't want to install the whole s2u2, I just need this very specific part.

I also know Diamond will do that by default, but I believe it's related to the proximity sensor, rather than call connect. (didn't do much search in this area to be honest)

Finally this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032)will also do it, but dsixda found it's buggy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4884696&postcount=10460), and since I trust his judgement I won't even try it.

Does program memory run low while running apps + M2D? I'm thinking of trying out this ROM [6.5, not lite] for my Elf, which is always getting issues when running games, and playing music.

I plan to install S2U2, G-Profile, and use S2P. On Onyx 5, I find S2U2 and S2P slowing down dramatically when music is being played, and I can't even text as the keyboard is so unresponsive.

I thought this would be nice alternative as it has M2D built-in...apparently this slows down the OS, but I figured overclocking *should* help.

here's some applications that I use in my phone, basically I repackaged them to have them installed in less steps :D

1. JAVA on SD card + Opera Mini 4.2. Install on SD card. It should not request connection permission every time, only the first time and you can allow forever.

hibernate is a great app that kancrutt cooks into his ROMs, it's a vry useful app, if it was not cooked in the ROM I would install it myself.
for some reason it's not working in sx 6 full, but it is working in all other sx ROMs.
so I provided the cab to install separately so u can install by yourself as standalone application and see if it works.

Hi, i recently used home customizer and it messed up my titanium plugins, now it does not show small icons instead of text anymore.

I also tryed to change today theme and swich back to amarullzGreenBlack and now it does not style buttons and combo boxes anymore.

Is there a way to restore these settings without a hard reset? I just don' want to install and configure everything again...

I found WMP to be missing many video codecs in every ROM I have tried, not only Elf SX, but also blue elves, Tess, onyx... So I always assumed it was a WMP problem.
That's why I use Corecodec and I'm very happy with it :D
U can try TCPMP, it's free and very well reputed.

Funny, I found SX ROMs (4.0 lite and 6.0 lite) to be far better than any other ROM I tried for my Elf.

3. 1st time using this ROM (or every WM6.5 ROM), let ur battery drain until 0%. yes... 0% means real empty, till ur device turned off itself. then charge ur battery (while the device still off) untill fully charged.

then... u can feel a longer lifetime. :)


i do really like this SX6.0, but after 2 weeks i decide to go back to use
onyx 5.1.1.

M2D 2.0 is beautifull. but... it's really slowdown elf/elfin performance.

i admit that SX v1.1 is an awesome build, but since it was butterfingered so i choose to go back to the stock.
according to other users experience, it was cause by touch.dll driver from the latest v3.07 stock rom. on my device was Asia (India) region, then i try & it's true.
solution for this is to replace the touch driver (dll) with the older version or to port it from another dev. but this can't be done without re-cooking the rom.
beside that, there is other solution available & this can be done without going into the kitchen. this solution can't banished the problem once and for all, but it's better than nothing :o
so tweak your registry hives at this following section: pressure threshold, finger pressure, high & low scrolling speed.
remember, it's just better than nothing.

please help me!! when I was installing ROM wm6.5 SX6.0 (not lite), i got announcement that file was corrupted.. why?? I was installing in windows vista use media center???:confused::confused::confused::confused:
