i think ezinput is better coz is fast. touch input takes some time to show up.. also u can include resco keyboard pro with tpro skin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466050). or fingerkeyboard 2

Pretty "clean" in terms of extra programs and looks mint (I REALLY like that bubble wallpaper - nice touch!). However, for me it seems to really drain the battery quick. I can barely get 24hrs out of more than half my battery?

Not sure if it's the ROM or my phone - but if it's something with the ROM I hope it gets figured out because then 6.0 would rock! (ps, I noticed the windows customer experience program thing seems to still exist in the ROM... I had it randomly pop up asking me if I wanted to perform an update from a PC... I thought most people removed that from ROMS to save space? just thought i'd mention it if it was an oversight!)

Ahh :D I didn't even notice that it had v2.0 on it. Think I'll try out your 6.0 "lite" version and see what it's like (I'm assuming that when it says "removed M2D 2.0" that means it's using an older version, but still uses Manila2D).

Hello everyone, this rom is the best I've seen, good graphics, fast, do not have many problems with it, just a few that have me thinking about a solution, I tell them:

1.I have problems to turn on wifi, only turn on from commManager

2.It not recognizes the commands of my telephone line operator, I use tigo in Honduras, but does not recognize all the commands in this company, for example, if you want to see my current balance, dial # 123 # + SEND and returns me the current amount of balance But in my country can transfer my balance to another phone number by typing * 327 * mobile number * amount to be transferred # + SEND but I do not recognize the command, so I can not transfer balance, is a minor problem but quite difficult for me my normal day

is otherwise all good, the manila 2d consumes enough ram so it almost did not use other versions suggest using the normal M2D is quite acceptable

I'm using the latest version of the SX 6.0 rom
Windows Mobile 6.5 CE OS 5.2.21872.5.0.71

My cell phone is an Elfin

indeed, install Mobile Shell 3.5.3 and works wonders, does not cause any conflict

On a side topic though - when you mentioned that M2D 2.0 consumes lots of battery power, is that for 2.0 only? Is there any significant benefit from using 2.0 versus an earlier 1.x release which might save lots of battery power?

Also, I grabbed 6.0 lite and am currently trying that now, though my tests may be biased since I have installed adv config this time and set a bunch of power saving features on... they seem to be really doing the trick. I personally am not a fan of titanium though so after this I will try 6.0 (or 8.0) and try these power saving features on that rom too and see how it works out.

Which version did you try? So far I've tried 1.1, 6.0 and 6.0 lite and none of them had any wifi issues for me. I was able to configure my home wifi network and get 802.11g enabled fine (both from comm manager and connection settings).

Sadly, I'm not in to this enough to know how to solve any problems - just that I've tried these ROMs and they seem to function fine for me.

WM6.1 will always be *much* faster than WM6.5 on these phones. It's actually quite noticable in the responsiveness of buttons, etc...

If you want the speed of WM6.1 but want to try these ROMs, I would suggest you try his SX1.1 which is based on WM6.1.

Also, he hasn't released 8.0 yet which is why there is no link. When it's released I'm sure he'll be kind enough to provide us all with a download link :D

I'd say you go step by step:
1. Can you turn ON wifi?
2. Can you find your wifi network? Is it open? is it encrypted?
3. Can you connect correctly to your wifi?
4. If you use the default browser in Elf SX, can you browse the internet correctly?
If so, that means the connection is ok, so there must be something wrong with the installation of the 3rd party SW you downloaded.

Just downloaded SX 8.0 as well :D I'm in the process of trying to recondition my battery (draining it completely, then full charge, etc...), so I'll be able to see how well SX 8.0 does with battery life (compared to 6.0).

I noticed in the apps list that it mentioned M2D 1.x, so hopefully going from 2.x back to 1.x will save some battery? :D Can't wait to try it!

Used your rom since 1.1. All well, recent SX6 experiences a small issue, can't make new SMS after few weeks. Don't know what happen, was OK in the begining. And before that, due to install and uninstall other software too many times, stuck at boot screen, then I hard-reset. Also SX6.

Many other chef has released 23518, well, I personally tested JJ's Kaiser, ABM30's P552w, I think will be great on your style ELF(in). No problems for me so far.

performance for 6.5 is slow compared to previous version... and most importantly, chinese apps now show boxes instead of chinese chars eventhough the font is installed... prev version does not have this problem...

Great rom, fluid and stable. only problem i've found it's the Album doesn't working properly, can't scroll through photos in fullscreen. I had to install SDK Album 3.0.19171631.WAlien.cab to fix it but besides that great design and nice rom.

Also i can't open the Audio Manager Player but this problem i've had it in almost every rom i tryed in the last time.

...so I'll be able to see how well SX 8.0 does with battery life (compared to 6.0).

I've been running SX 8.0 since it was released, and after charging my phone to 100%, the battery is down to 4% now after making one call (about 6 mins long) and the rest of the time pretty much being on standby for about a day and a half (no texts, no roaming, just checking the clock a few times).

It seems to really drain quite a bit when it should be in standby. I'm using radio 3.34.90 which I hope isn't the cause of the problems.

Great job with the latest SX 8! Indeed, the graphic is great, best from what I tried so far. There is only one glitch in my opinion: the selected icon in the programs menu (after pressing the "start" button) isn't highlighted. I am using quite a lot the directional keys for navigation but now I can't see the selected icon. Is there any way I can fix this? :) Thank you!

Here's an odd one - hopefully you can answer this for me kancrutt!

I had installed SX 8.0, loved it but couldn't live with a 24hr battery life, so I decided to switch back to SX 1.1. I had since removed the rom from my PC so I re-downloaded a copy from this thread and installed it.

As I was setting everything up, I went to adjust the volume and noticed your new SX 8.0 volume skin was on this ROM (the one in your SX 8.0 preview picture). Is this because I didn't do a hard-reset after flashing SX 1.1 to my phone, or did you update SX 1.1 or something (or was this always there but I never noticed it)?

kan, 8.0 is slow in my elfin too. And I noticed this once I soft reset and takes some time to load everything. Until then, elfin is unusable. Also, PIMBackup is not restoring the SMS I have taken a backup. Tried it couple of times, but getting a msg, success, but no SMS. Contacts and call logs are back, but no SMS.

Anyways, I have now moved to iPhone 3GS and will be inactive in here. Kudos for ur work buddy.

Great Rom, using SX 8 now, weather doesnt seem to update on home page, but on the weather tab it works find :-)

Update: I got it to work, just kept on trying and it got it.

Problem though was it was albeit stuttery at times, so I shifter to your Manila 2.1 version. All is well but when the weather tab updates, I dont get any graphics on it, just the temp.

Update after installing the icons fix on the first post everything went well already except that I dont have any weather readings on the lower three.

Example, right now I have the Main center one (today) below the Sat, Sun and Mon are empty and The last one (tue) has a reading. So 3 empty icons with no readins at the bottom.

Hello,

Yes after a while testing this ROM is slower than SX 6.0. But I think it is due to kancrutt changed the page pool. Because in SX 8.0 we have more memory. For my particular use I prefer more memory and I disabled the SMS Threaded mode in order to have better performance.

I had to install Advanced Configuration Tool in order to change the SMS Threaded setting. I recomend to kancrutt to include Advanced Configuration Tool in next versions of SX ROM.

Summary: I still prefer SX 8.0

Despite several attempts of asking solutions to my problem.I flashed with SX 6.1 windows for ELF and everything is working fine except that the device screen lock after every 2secs and then have to press unlock to access the menu.It doesnt even give time to access or read the msgs of make a call...This is turning out to be very annoying now..Please help ..Please

It's a really strange problem, never heard of that before.
Did you change the screen lock settings?
Was it like that from the very first start up? I guess not.
What did you change that caused this problem?
I don't understand how to match your 2 statements:
everything is working fine
and
the device screen lock after every 2secs
I mean, if it locks after 2 seconds, how did you manage to test SMS, calls, and all the functionality?
If nothing else works I suggest you try a hard reset.

This will unload the camera module, and free 4MB RAM!!!
I don't use the camera at all, so this is great for me!

And it stays unloaded after soft reset, no worries, you can restore it by executing the file again :D

Very nice. It sucks more RAM than displayed, on my Elf at least though. The standard SX 8.0 version. Steadily remains at around 80% RAM eaten, leaving me with about 10mb and running quite slow. Nice though. I'll probably stick with this for a good while with it overclocked, thanks. :)

thanks, bro. i've changed the pp to 16. and now it worked great. anyway, i read some thread here on xda-dev about something diamond uses pp of 0. do you have tried anything like that on any rom? and how can you change the pp to 0?

Looks great i downloaded today and flash it at night one question how to change page pool size i have an elf.

Another thing when i tap on volume control in taskbar no volume control is opening instead it opens battery and notifications.

So U want to on your wifi?
Fine go to `Settings-on the lower left side of the setting tab, there will be all settings-go to connection-wireless LAN-there is an option i.e `Wireless LAN is OFF. Turn on Wireless LAN'
That's it....
Now you can use Wifi.

And 2nd
if you want your default browser as Opera...you have to edit some registry key.
If you want that I can give you the solution.

If you don't mind do a hard reset 1ce....
cause there is no such problem on SX6.1 ( How Long I know)

Your first ans is.... I am also using the same SX 8.0, there is no such problem in this ROM, I'll suggest you to do
1.A hard reset. If it doesn't work..
2.Re-flash your ROM again. B-cause there is really no problem.

Your second ans....
Do a search in this website, as 'pagepool changer'.
You will get all the ans...
NOTE:
I'll say when you change the pagepool of this ROM, don't change >12.
If you change your pagepool more than 12, sync may not work.
