Follow this order:

First you have to unlock the CID (http://leovasconcelos.googlepages.com/CIDUnlonckHTCTouchROM.rar). Download and install the .cabs on your HTC. Then download the IPL/SPL 3.14 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=163012&d=1236103242) and install on your device. Okay, now you can update your ROM.

OK just installed new 6.5 rom. It's very good, v nice to have the MEGA style touchflo.

About 83mb free on elfin after installing, no real problems so far. Will keep testing this week, thanks.

PS: this keyboard works with the rom too. its easier for me to use than the ones provided. maybe you can integrate it :p

(That should do wonders for finger friendliness of the UI) However.... your screenshots look to be from an earlier build. Even in the heading you say build 23017. Thanks for your ROM. It is very nice, especially the graphics but it does not have the WM6.5 standard Titanium .... I don't like Manila at all but happy with the Titanium.

I have no choice and flash back to PDAVIET V82, it includes both Manila and Titanium as user's selective.

i've try many builds of WM6.5 and decided to publish 23017 cause latest build 2303x is buggy

There is one feature I really miss on this rom and I've only seen it on Onyx beta 48 (build was 21921). That one had the new style list views (like you see in theme colours in the Contacts list, or File Manager, for example) for Calendar, Media Player, Word Mobile etc. In your rom (and I think most others), these applications have "flat" list views like wm 6.1.

Is there any way to get this same thing on your (great) rom? Thanks

I have Elf with 64MB RAM/128MB flash. SPL 1.11.0000 and IPL 1.11.0002 (stock version)

Anyone with the same Elf version tried this ROM successfully? will the RAM enough for this ROM?

I have this "poor" Elf but all this time it's never been customized and only now I want to try it!!

Thanks man ;). I do not want to mischaracterize your project, but found it very cool design project Miky6682 that is similar to the ROM Elf SX 1.0. Too bad it is ROM with many bugs ... Another difference is that the ROM uses WM 6.5 ...

i think kancrutt would agree, not all of the mega packages will work, and a lot of them have a debug logger, which bleeds memory heavily
you have to remember the mega is still in the testing phase, so not everything will work 100%

i flashed the non-lite version yesterday night and checked in the morning, network search was still going on...went back to miky's rom..

hope light version works.....cant wait to flash it.....battery is charging......48%..... :)

Flashed the Light rom....what can i say....so far the best wm6.5 rom for ELF 64/128.....storage memory is more 50+mb and program memory is more than 20+mb. this rom just rocks...thanks to kancrutt...i highly recommend this rom for ELFs.

There is one feature I really miss on this rom and I've only seen it on Onyx beta 48 (build was 21921). That one had the new style list views (like you see in theme colours in the Contacts list, or File Manager, for example) for Calendar, Media Player, Word Mobile etc. In your rom (and I think most others), these applications have "flat" list views like wm 6.1.

Is there any way to get this same thing on your (great) rom? Thanks

in your connection settings goto advance tab then select networks and check both of the items be my work network..then built your gprs connection

@Da_G: I dont know whether should i post it or not, but all these new builds dont seems rather fit for QVGA devices, specially the font rendering. And since long we haven't seen any native QVGA dpi files, so is it possible that there wont be any official 6.5.x qvga builds? I am getting the idea that 6.5.x will coexist with Wm7 on VGA+ devices only and they want to phase out QVGA, isn't it? What do you feel?

BTW, the 218xx branch seems to be better for us poor qvga device owners, these are getting faster and faster, looks like these are being optimized for performance now SO can you give some source for latest updates from this COM2 branch? Currently i am using 21844 build from this is the branch for regular use and keep experimenting with COM3/4, but it seems that things wont get any better for QVGA
we must know different about WM6.5 & WM6.5.x :)

OMG!! SEEMS there might be coming a htc worthy of replacing my good old ELF.

ELF is still the best product, when it comes to smartphone, mostly because of its near perfect sieze. Its a proper neat small mobile, primary touch controlled, longlasting and durable.

A proper touchscreen allday-everyday phone.

Your device is still CID locked while trying to flash a cooked/custom ROM. Flash the USPL or Hard SPL if you have not already done so! Why not just cook to that version and call this ta-da! :D

To be frank with you guys, personally, I am just looking for a STABLE ROM, which doesn't crash and have as many little bugs as possible, like Onyx 4.6 series, thats why I am still sticking with Windows Mobile 6.1.

I am downloading SX right now actually and see whether I am able to run WM6.5 in my day to day work.
As well as working on the android guides and testing out Android stuff.

Be aware that HSPL 3.14 is well known to drain battery really fast...

=> My solution is to use 3.10 + Radio 3.39.90: no battery issue whatsoever!!!

Yup, my settings is set to best battery.
Same issue.

And after the Wifi is off, the battery still goes down, very fast, as though the wifi is on!

So, the problem is not with TouchFLO, but the wifi!

The touchflo version you are running on this rom is certainly old, so that might be one factor on why the battery leaks.

I am not comparing, but this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535879&highlight=battery) which has both TouchFLO and 6.5 with it is doing well. So something must have been packaged wrongly.

after using this rom for about a week , i should say its the best rom ever.no critical bug , a stable wm 6.5 and touchflo does it all. i know that touchflo cause some issues like battry drain or memory leak , but at the end its the best Ui ( both look and usage) for our old elfs.

so im very thankfull of you and please continue the exact package with next wm 6.5 builds.

Thanks for the great Rom I installed it yesterday on my Htc Touch GSM and it makes me want to keep the phone now instead of throwing it against a wall.

I have only noticed that the battery drains very fast even with no use and that most of my notification sounds and ringtones do not work. Still trying to figure out how to get those going, the only ringtone that works is called dogbark or something. Great build keep up the good work and if anyone has an idea on how I can fix my notification and ringtones please let me know.

Cool beans. :D Well... Good news! Working like a dream; I thought Onyx's 6.5 rom was fast, until I got this one running. It's beautiful! After installing LeSScro Start Menu 2 and S2U2 it still handles nicely.

I do have one small problem though... It's more of an irritation to me than a problem, but either way; the 'G' or 'E' symbol along the top toolbar that shows whether or not GPRS or EDGE is available (not yet connected) doesn't seem to work for me.

When the data connection is inactive it shows the following:

I would try that right now; but I don't have my USB cable with me here at work and for some reason the Wireless connection on my device is not turning on.. It shows the 'busy' symbol as though it's trying, but then it goes away and WiFi is still off. Let me try sort that out first.. Perhaps I need to flash with this ROM again? Kinda strange though, only had it on for about 2 days so far... :(

Update: After a hard reset, my WiFi still isn't staying connected... Guess I'll have to try re-flash it then. I'll try sort out the rest after this issue..


I came across another little issue yesterday, I'm wondering if anybody else has found this? I got quite used to the smaller text size of the options on the Today screen (smaller than other ROMs; Onyx for example), and in all honesty I do prefer it smaller. But then I started missing the ATFavePeople plugin and went off to install it.

This is where the fun started, the text size in that plugin didn't follow suite with the rest of the options; it was the standard larger size. I remembered seeing a .cab file to increase the size of the Today screen text earlier on in this thread, so I went to install it.

As soon as I installed it, the FavePeople plugin disappeared. Not thinking much of it, I went to disable the CHome Today screen, removed the plugin, soft reset and re-installed FavePeople. But now every time I try and either remove it or install it again, it completes the setup, but it gives the following error:

An unexpected error has occurred in ATPluginInstaller.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.

When clicking on 'Details', it takes me to an extremely long message (don't worry, won't type the whole ting out), but it starts with:
ATPluginInstaller.exe
UnauthorizedAccessException

Help...? Anyone? Pretty please? I've tried removing any information I couldfind in folders and the registry relating to this plugin and trying again, but all to no avail.. I'm out of ideas now.

By the way; I always make a backup of any file I replace, and after restoring the original "Titanium_240x320.cpr" file, ATFavePeople installs and runs fine (I haven't installed MortScript yet). Hmmmm.... Maybe that plug-in adds something to the .cpr file, in which case I can actually make the text for that smaller like the rest. Well, I'll play with that and let you know.

In all honesty, I think I'm possibly having these problems because of this ROM itself. All the plugins and apps I've used for ages are giving me constant trouble, S2U2 is losing components (the slider) that re-installing doesn't fix, the screen doesn't seem to refresh properly all the time, I have to try 4 or 5 times to get WiFi to turn on and then I sit there hoping like all hell that it doesn't turn off on it's own.. All these issues only started coming up when I installed this ROM.

It's a big pity though; I really do like the speed at which this runs, and I've learned a lot more about customizing certain options as a result of this little adventure. Seems this build works nicely for most, but there are always a few exceptions hey? Anyway, no hard feelings; it really is an awesome ROM, but I don't think it's the right one for me... I'll give it a few more days and see if I can get it running properly, but it's not looking too promising at the moment.

ur ROMs are real groovy. i like em, you have the same taste i used while building Cyne3yte version. Simple, Super Clean.

Nice theme there! Are you planning for a WM6.5 version incorporating those new stuffs as well? I hope you will! When you do please take a look into your page pool implementation, can't change it using ppchanger.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that your next WM6.5 release will be as good if not better than the current ones. Keep it up! :)
