Kinda old as Google had a black on the power save day, to be honest your example isn't the best black google derivitive i've seen, and from an ease of use on my eyes i'll stick with white ;)
Just found this that's far more than just Google homepage uses Greasemonkey http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/12917

This is only going to help of you have either a brand new LED backlight screen, or a truly ancient CRT.
Having the background black on a normal CCT LCD screen just means the backlight is being covered up by a dark LCD panel.
Basic physics at work everybody...

The question posed in the title, "How will Google Look In the Dark?" My first thought was umm pretty much the same anything else lloks like in the dark.... Completely Black.
Do it now, turn off your monitor, close the Window Blinds and Turn of your light. NOw try and find your chair.

I see some people have a gay prejudice here. And this is very childish! Why not have something gay? Gay can mean many things including bright, fun and joyful things! Or do you think only straight people use google? It is very likely that even very, very wacky people use it all the time!

I don't think this site saves energy - forwarding all searches manually from this server to google or having a white page all the same :)
