Great news, there is now finally a German WM 6.5 ROM made by narshorn. Currently he's throwing builds at me to test for bugs but I don't use all Trinity functionality.

Changelog:
- Help (Hilfe) : all files german language updated -
except for Audio Manager Help & Total Commander Help that remain english
( 1st I don't have, 2nd doesn't exist )
- Total Commander menus now 100% german out of the box
- "Advanced Backlight" in ShortCut folder now 100% german translated, thanks TalkRabb for verifying my translation
- SMSDRFix now 100% german interface, thanks TalkRabb & ZakMcRofl
- Smart Dialing tab now 100% german, found the good files
- Notifications are now 100% german translated, I made those,
please don't hesitate if you have better translations (suggestions)
- Video Telephony dialog now 100% german
- "Incoming Voice Call" & "Incoming Video Call" bubble now in German too
- Added more missing random german MUIS that give correct german languages:

"Band" tab in "Telefon Einstellungen" language fixed
"Weiter" tab in "Telefon Einstellungen" language fixed
"Bluetooth": "Sim Access" tab language fixed
"Voice Recorder" in "Multimedia" changed to "Sprachrekorder"
Comm Manager title bar text "Kommunikation" now correctly displayed


Everything isn't done yet but it's a pretty usable ROM !
Narshorn doesn't speak German at all ... and never physically installed the rOm !!! :cool:
I tested for him and so can you - just make sure to give good feedback so we can make this a great German 6.5 ROM.

I already found all DPI and 0407 files for SYS in 23016 ROM for trinity. They were on RapidShare so I integrated them to the kitchen.

What I miss - to please you - is a modern initiateflashfiles.dat for german WM 6.5 ROM. Open that english one in notepad and see the structure. Perhaps you can mod the file to be in german (mostly start menu names etc) and correct name and place of all folders.

For ex. I would need Backlight.exe.0407.mui to display this correct text in german. Otherwise, I just rename the 0409 to 0407, means you'll get english text at this part of dialog ( adjust backlight settings) :)

EDIT : found the 0407 init posted by DA_G :) I can try to do a WM 6.5 rom for You now :)

I don't know if it'll be clean or not. Might be a bunch of english dialogs ... someone with restorator 2007 could edit the muis to get german inside.

i hate promotion but my absence was in good reason .. first, i got another device for me to play with .. well, not funny for trinity users, but before i got my kovsky, i was working on my trinity roms hard to get the trinity roms some kind of speaking the languages i know well .. you might know already, this is wwe+ger

I'm using the 230017 6.5 rom on my trinity. It is a very stable rom and a kitchen is out now. Why do you don't use this one to make it a german rom? It's the fastest I ever used.

Downloads were broken for a while (mediafire in general, I checked with my acc) but should work now.
Have been very busy lately but am making a backup now and will try it in a few minutes.

I have testet your 2nd GER Beta ROM !
I am really surprised as good the German ROM has become.

some things which have struck me testing the last 2 days: some SoftKeys and descriptions are still in English; linking to the finger keyboard does not function; writing with WIFI settings is not indicated; Network Wizard does not function; camera linking is absent; Trinity reboots when i activate SAP Settings in bluetooth menu; COM manager does not function properly;

Up to the little things the ROM functions wonderfull.

in addition, I would wish for the next version the programmes from your WWE ROM and GB SoftTweak and XCPU Scaler directly in the ROM integrated.

Further in such a way!!

Yeah its broken. narshorn wanted to remove it for beta5 but it still shows up in SIP selection

When i went to Einstellungen/Verbindungen/ and open the Wireless LAN there are only the Square and the 2 bars and no description.

I found the camera.exe in the Windows folder and made a shortcut tu startmenü

When i click on the Button SIM Access in the bluetooth menu, my trinity reboots.

- Buttons : they work, but need to be applied manually by Start-Settings-Personal-Buttons (for now, we'll fix that later, just the shortcuts)
- Added Manila (still english)
- Added Youtube (idem)
- Added Audio manager (same)
- Added HTC Album (same)
-Added new UI goodies :)

Yes, install googlemaps but not on SD ...

EDIT : Yay, more and more errors fixed, it tends to be final :)

I have tested this weekend your beta 6, beta 9.1, beta 9.2 and beta 9.5.
No comment to beta 6. it was a half hour on my trinity.
beta 9.1 and beta 9.2 needed every 2 minutes a stylus reset.
beta 9.5 is great. No display freeze, almost everything is in german and functions so far very well.
Comm manager, Advanced Network and Wirless Lan Settings are still on in english.
At wlan settings the turn off time shows wrong.
Manila in german functions wonderfully.

I am still waiting to the first final version of your rom.

My girlfriend uses my "old" trinity (for now i'm with topaz :D) and wouldn't have new rom all the time.

Take the beta 9.5. It is more stable and faster than 9.2.
Search the Tool "remap softkeys" and try ist.
I don't know if it works in WM6.5. I used it in Wm6.1 roms.

i have tested your 9.5 Beta. Looks pretty cool. :cool:
But I have two issues with this ROM version on my trinity. :(
After i have stopped the process SAPSettings.exe i can no longer change my BackLight Settings. If i move the cursor to left or right and then i say OK, it happens nothing. Restart did'nt help. I will try to reflash today in the evening.
The other one ist that my TomTom cannot find any address on the map. It says: this street has no housenumbers. :confused:

I won't cook M2DC and Mortscript in the next Rom version because those programs are not intended to every user and take a lot of place in rOm, even with wrong settings M2DC can make your manila never start again, so.

Mortscript can be installed easily & automatically with some Chome plugins

I install Mortscript and M2DC furthermore separately.

The device freezes randomly. I believe this is not dependent from a program. Presumably could be also responsible wifi for it. yesterday in the evening it happened as i connected with wlan.

Yes, I'me aware of it.

Initially, I wanted to get rid of accumulation logs in the device, but I messed up registry settings. I had to take every parameter back to have clue ot was that "debug remove" thinggie that was creating mess. I have test rOm in french with the new manila 2 and new MEGA modules and it was doing the same. I'm quickly throwing a Beta 9.7 during lunch time, so you can test it back to no freeze :)

additional fixes :

- changed SMS wav to german language one
- fixed Welcome Center incoherences
-Chome tab for Rings link corrected, now going to real ring screen, not phone canvas one
- SetColume is directly mapped to key "1" under power, press to activate, touch screen to set, and change from ringer to system, the app auto closes after some seconds, it's normal

I have some probs with my storage card. Is it possible, that the install change the files on the card? I can´t see the most of my files and folders, but they are definately on the card cause i´ve only 100Mb left.
If I open the Storage Card with my Mobil Device Center, the PC dont show me any file or folder.

You need to put out SD card while flashing !

But there is one more bug in my ROM (V9.5). I use the tool "second today" wherewith I configurate the softkeys. But in the home-tab I cannot see the softkeys. They would not work even when I click on the places where they have to be.

Thanks for testing ! You shouldn't have slowdowns in Touchflow or freezes now because registry fixed, have you hard reset after flash ? Which rOm did you use before this one ?

Touchflow still slow ? Slowdown ? Check how much free ram do you have ... Does it do slow until start or only after some hours ? If you use PIMBackup, then after you do a contacts and messaging restore you must soft reset ... otherwise entire phone slowdown until next soft reset

Found something detailed about the freezes. It happens if a wpa2 wireless connection is enabled. The phone gets slower and slower and than it freezes. Somethimes during power on it hangs on the first htc bootscreen, but only if wireless is enabled.

I'm just on the way to put 9.91 on the phone. I will tell .....

In the last few days I tried both the dte6.5 and your current 9.9.1 version. As I read that you perhaps plan to work together I would like to mention some problems I encountered:


BT sim access working better than dte6.5 (connecting to vw passat car system works about 70% of all tries, dte6.5 not a single connect)
Java not in german. can't install opera mini. java program not in list unter "Programme" (dte 6.5 works well with german language)

For now, no, but TF is easily disable in last manila tab, plus if you use the maniladev tool you can enable button on home screen to re enable TF ...

I played around with 9.91 Version. Truning on Wifi I get freezes. As long Wifi is enabled the device freezes directly during or after the boot screen.

Is there a dependency to the Radio Rom?? My Version is 1.50.08.11. I don't know if that can cause Wifi problems ??

Tied to the Os are the drivers, so sublevels hardware -> radio -> OS
As radio and hardware hardly change, I suspect some OS error, in particular WWAN.dll not to be mapped correctly in memory. I will release a new test version with freshly extracted WWAN. Maybe it doesn't mean anything for you, but huh, still active behind the scene :cool:

9.8 is very old version now seen things like they roll. M2DC is a nice customizer but it can render your manila unusable unless you know exactly what you do. Then a trial & error wil be necessary to get exactly what you want. This manila build doesn't differ from others in fact and skin is a very basic (although very nice) one ;)

Why do you want to change softkeys in manila ? They don't suit you ? All softkeys cannot be controlled by M2DC, some are hex hardcoded in the manila.exe ... like the favorite buttons and navigator one in internet tab ... they go nicely with Opera, not IE for example. However registry changed to point to IE ... this settings work in new Manila M2D2 with IE8 "native".

- Startmenu re-arrange, now a new icon for Connectivity folder with things inside
- Some more nice lookin' converted icons
- German items names and muis in menus and applications traduction improved
- Screen time & backlight time changed to 1min / 30s to improve battery life.
On 1st boot you'll have to press power button once to get light on the screen though :(
- Tried to change WWAN memory map to cure the WI-FI problem.

I found a workaround how to use Wifi without freezing the device. Turn of cellular radio. Than turn on Wifi and it works in my case. Ok you are not reachable in the meantime by phone but for me it is ok as long we have not found the problem ....:eek:


- In Active Sync IrDa is missing for sync - (but is not a real issue for me)

They did not give me any reason ... I opened a support ticket,
but no news for now.

Nice workaround for wifi BTW ... there's really incompatibility with the notifications enhancement. I made a new test rom today with no notifications, wifi settings 1.0.0.1 and Comm manager 2.7.7.1.

Each time I try to connect Wifi with Phone section enabled, I'm also gratified with a freeze ... ATM no fix, it's really annoying, for me too.

I suggest you install another rOm ... in the meanwhile, I try to fix this ... and settle the Mediafire history ...

Ok, the files disappered were put back online.

In the meanwhile, I tried to add the missing IrDA support in the german test rOm. So to speak, I now would try to settle the java problem, and the wifi stability problem. Then it could be good to go :) I'm about to build beta9.9.4
so beetlevoh, you could see if it resolves your irDA problem, am looking for java error now, today but - this week, not much time for cooking I'm afraid :mad: will continue the work on the german rOm & kitchen around saturday, or on the evenings of this week so shortly each day.

Well, you should, because ATM it has no wifi bug :D

I took back my stock kitchen from 23009 and it has no wifi bug ...
So, working to fix this, and afterwards getting on good 0407 base too.

In the meanwhile, use other rom, or don't activate wifi. That's all I can say :(

Concert this week, not so much time for cooking. Will get on it back soon :)

Beta 9.9.5 is out

Some mistakes left but some things fixed ( no more wifi freeze, etc )

Caution : I adjusted IE settings, backlight times etc to save battery ... so on 1st boot, at a moment screen will go black, just push "Power" short once and it wil continue to customize. Locale back to English, change setting manually. Working for the fix now.

Please test for reliability and stability. :)

Added IRDA for ActiveSync & stuff, Remote Desktop Mobile should be int here too, the rest you'll see :)

When screen goes black (i.e. after defined time in backlight settings) I guess wifi is turned off and should also wake when you wake up device. Why it doesn't is out of my knowledge, try different settings for auto turn off for Wifi and / or Power wifi management, may help.

On my device, when I use power button when it got Standby, wifi re-enables but doesn't catch network all the time. Sometimes it takes 2 tries to reconnect, but I don't have any freeze for now.

Sorry about RUU prob. Yeah, it's cosmetics :)

Java might not work, currently trying another one.

Tomorrow, another build, with new java, some things fixed, well. Approaching :)

Well try ... If it's from a precedent DEU rOm, hell ... I don't know, I hope SPB doesn't touch Windows core.

You should try "dry" before restoring backup :) if backup corrupts, then hard reset and use from scratch

All I need ;) I make a complete backup from my Trin. PIM, file system, etc. (exeptly the SD-card)

...now, first shock until flashing: communication error :eek:

but the second try works. And what, the ROM is currently the 23016? Why is it the same version-number as the first ROM?

Now to the backup. It seems that the backup works with following exceptions:


TouchFlo is not the standard. This is set on the backup. But after activation from TouchFlo all old settings are acceded
my modified start-menu is not taken over to 100%. I must fix it by myself. But, of course, my old folders like "Anwendungen" or "PIM" are in the startmenu


I try the ROM with the old backup in the next time and I will report about problems.

By comparison with the latest Lalle WM 6.1 Rom the battery usage is very strong.
Is it a problem from WM 6.5 or a problem from the rom.
Today i loaded up to 100%, than in 3-4 hours the battery loses 12%.

I'm still using 0.9.5 but I will switch so .6 hopefully by today.
The only option I'm missing is "Device information" but also I didn't go through the whole thread so I'm not sure if this is a known bug or just intended.

I faced already a few problems:

-If i open the GPS Viewer, the program closes itself.
-There is not network wizard (for gprs settings)
-Streaming Media doesn't work (did not start)

Sometimes programs doesn't work, so the device hangs while trying to play a small wav file. Another time the program "fieldtest" bother, there is no .net. Later on i tried again and it worked. I didn't reset the device!

I can use tcpmp, connect with wpa2 psk aes to my home network.

This is my 1st wm6.5 rom. I used lalle's wm6.1 before.

Device Info should be in there ... in german ... in Start -> Settings -> System (in German)

And Yes, WinMo 6.5 uses much battery, especially with Chome, with Manila more ram used but more battery friendly.
Remember that your batteries are not new either ! :)

you need to add Google maps .cab in order to get the google map tab of manila to work
Otherwise, nothing needed in addition

This is the thread for german beta version, I also opened a thread for WWE and FRA versions as well in Trinity Rom development.

Currently, rebuilt all rOms in FRA flavour, and this week is the re-build of the WWE line, with annoying wifi bug fixed and a lot of small fixes.

the keyboard is working well, but some "german umlauts" are missing. The 'ü' and 'ö' painted to the keyboard nothing happens if you press the button. The same for the '0' (Zero)

Further some interessting information about youtube client i found out. If you take the original client at youtube website (download it directly from youtube with my device) it will work without memory messages. So maybe you can remove your Youtube Client to safe some bytes of memory ...

Device Info is now present, commanager is in german :D

Thats all ... the rest is working fine without any probs in my configuration

That's a great info here, beetlevoh, great to know for Device Info, you should also have USB zu PC back in Connections, for comm manager, yes, I switched version, and I will take advice, will download a Youtube app from youtube web site and make a package out of it, please tell me which version, I would also need a german youtube.0407.exe.mui, if you can find it in your device once installed, I would need it to get a good package, many thanks

after some tests and changed values my backlight is by battery on max 10%, and you can change to 50% or 100% but nothing will change.:eek:

i can't find your problem at my device. The Backlight is working in a proper condition. However it is doesn't matter if it is charging or not. I can adjust the brightness however I want.

Here on the WWE (future update available this week) and on FRA versions, there is no such bug, after a notification, screen dims gently and goes black as usual, without consuming battery.

Tell us the list of the software you installed ? It might help.
Also, did you do proper hard reset after rom flashing ( after 1st boot in fact, with the grey screen and Send (green) the OK to boot.
If you didn't see that grey & dialog, it may lead to CMOS fantom latency. Hard reset clear CMOS currents to be clean from start & is absolutely necessary.

Some people do use Sprint backups from other DEU 6.5 or 6.1 rOms. This is not recommanded at all as it can lead to system instability very quickly. Please use PIM back up to get back only your SMS,MMS, mail, contacts & call logs, that's sufficient. Other way, re-install your softs freshly, or if you bother, wait till the end of beta for stable version to be released.

I am about to release the WWE versions. In order to finish the DEU rOm totally out of beta, I am going to install it on my device even if I don't speak german. So I can much appreciate the english bits left for example, clean this, and the icons - custom missing and such, etc ... as well as testing stability and features.

I forgot to tell, it's not intuitive, but no need to change the original layout ... if you got corrective cab, then de-install it.

With original layout, the digits keyboard can be accessed any time by pressing shift ( Green Up Arrow left of screen) then "123" located just under, it opens numeric keyboard :)

I will put back the old QWERTZ layout in next beta, you can always acces digits like showed :) :

Thanks for compliment. And yes, as far as I know, flashing from SD should work, although never I've never done it, so I have no proof ! :)
Be sure to backup your SD content first. In cases. If something bad happens, you'll have a backup and you could always unbrick the phone later if needed

GGMPS is not in rOm, I propose it in post install.
Plus, you have to install it to main memory not storage card to make it work with Manila.
Youtube is an exception, it can be downloaded from internet. But I thought ready to use in mostly full versions wouldn't hurt. I made a package out of it, so it will be in rOm on next beta. It will be "official" version with no annoying memory messages.

And yes, FingerKeyboard and PimBackup are already in rOm. And Office Mobile :)

Keep in mind that to test everything, the test rOm is a full version. When ready, there will be 4 versions :

nUdE: no WLM, no Adobe no Office no Youtube, still FK, no Chome, no Manila, no Voice Recorder

iE8-CHOME : Office, Adobe, WLM, Chome present

iE8-MAN : no Chome, no WLM, still Office & Adobe, Manila

iE8-MAN-CHOME : complete rOm with all softs and 2 interfaces

Install hints

- Before installing, please upgrade SPL to Olipro 1.20 to avoid bricking of the device.
- Hard Reset after 1st boot after install ( 2 softkeys downscreen pressed same time + stylus then release stylus then release the softkeys together.)
It leads to the grey screen, "press send (green then OK to boot)" dialog then it's OK,
if you don't see that screen, hard reset not done properly, try hard reset till succes if needed

- 1st boot is looong, then after a while you'll see the Windows flag dimm and screen goes black.
No panic, just push power once and it will take you to calibration screen. Be patient.
During post-install, jog wheel regularly to maintain backlight util the device resets.
If you don't, the phone goes to black screen and is a little tricky to wake up.
Wait 1 or 2 minutes then. Once you regain control on screen, it will finish and reboot.

I don't have that problem on my device, are there any users experiencing this ... When connected via AS to PC, if screen is black, I wake up device by pushing power once ... can you describe more precisely what happens ?

Thanks. I don't know where is located the text, in a .mui somewhere, so it might be hard to modify. I'll try to find & do it. I think I know where it is, last time I tried to modify the text in the last tab "Weitere", but resulting file was corrupted :( even using highest precautions :(


EDIT : I tried to reproduce your bug but I couldn't - let the device 15 min USB plugged to my PC, screen dimmed normal, then when touching screen I could have normal control over Manila touchflow scrolling start menu etc ...

When i start the camera, the backlight goes to 80-90% (normal settings). everything else works fine till now, only the backlight goes crazy.

Then you plug it to USB, screen must stay with normal light during sync

When you unplug USB after 2 min, screen must light up as normal not 10%

If it doesn't act like this out of the box, even after proper hard reset, then I think your screen may be damaged :(

Unplugging USB restores correct light on screen.
I will change settings to tell device never dim screen on extern power supply maybe ...

hmmm, i dont think that the screen is damaged, because the backlight is working fine with ROM 6.1, and with your ROM too when i activate the camera.

what i just found out: i activate the camera, backlight stays at 70-80% (normal) even after i shut down the cam. but by the first touch of the display it goes back to 10% :) funny

The backlight-problem was the same for my girlsfriend trinity (and also my topaz), when Auto-Lock (from Advanced Config or HD-Tweaks or something similar) was enabled.
Maybe this is your problem?

ok, i think i've found the problem. I have reflashed, and after that i didn't change the Backlight/Power settings from narshorn till now. and it works :-)

The menus are now completely finger friendly (the system menus are so too) and the windows and close-button are on the bottom of the screen. I never use my stylus after flashing this great ROM.

I'm more concerned for now to find buils less RAM greedy for the Trin. For example, 21864, when I finish on the rOm polish, then I'll try porting that one, got all dpis for 3 languages ;)

So the rOm may be visually the same (or better) ;... but more performant core.

You can change but don't disable M2D before using M2D Einstellungen. Set your options then apply; then you disable M2D by last tab from M2D with red circle. you see the today screen with your items. Of course you can add Tasks to Today :)

To disable some M2D tabs, disable M2D, then get the file HTCHomeSettings.xml in PPC in "\Windows" on your PC and, edit it with notepad. Basically, all files then you have sections with enable=1 disable=0, so you can remove tabs changing "1" to "0" or use M2DC ;)

hm.... I can`t chance the settings :(

I went to M2D Einstellungen (M2D running), enabled some items, used the disable Button on the last tab, went back to home -> nothing changed

(But my icon for the disable button is noch a red circle; it is a red cross. :) )

I tried the M2D Customizer... after that M2D did not start again.. so I had to flash the phone again :(

I will test modifying the .xml file soon =)

I found another Problem (don`t know if it`s a bug): When I change a value in the regitry with the total commander (in my case \\PLugins\registry\HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\showSim from 0 to 1) and I reboot the phone, the value is again 0.. so it is not saved. is that normal?

I found another Problem (don`t know if it`s a bug): When I change a value in the regitry with the total commander (in my case \\PLugins\registry\HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\showSim from 0 to 1) and I reboot the phone, the value is again 0.. so it is not saved. is that normal?

Yes, if you want it to be kept at 1, I think you need to remone the NikkiContactSimFix.lnk from Windows\Autorstart first :) then change reg value, then soft reset, it should stay then :)

Might be harder to do becuase the elements on 1st Manila page are intimately mixed with skin design. Dunno. Try to modify the XML to your needs, then if graphics are not OK, edit or add graphics or change their place in the XML.

Be prepared to hard reset often if you modify, sometimes your M2D won't start so back to beginning :( btw, skinner's every day task :(

First a big Thankyou for building this very nice Rom.
It was hard to find a german Version, have tested all IE8 and crome and so on, but all in WWE.
So my last Hope is the Link some Sites bevor to 999Beta-DE, will test it.

English is not my Homelanguage, so a german Rom would be very cool.

On french version it can be started and used most of the time without problems.
I suggest u use Hibernate to regain a little free RAM. Or disable M2D. I possibly will try a version @ PP=0 so you can have 55Mb of RAM instead of 50. Might be better, or freeze device

Yes, it's the case for most 6.5 builds. Manila eats RAM but is more processor friendly, and uses less battery. On the contrary, Chome is more RAM friendly but eats more CPU cycles and drains battery faster.
With no Chome or MAnila activated, battery should be about the 6.1 consumption though

- Lock screen: Sometimes the number pad appears but the menu items below not. Then you need to soft-reset the device

I think there are some flaws in lockscreen, I'm aware of it, even if I don't use it !!! :) Thanks for reporting :)

I am in search for a different COM build from another branch, which possibly will eat less RAM. I'm currently porting M2D2 on the trinity. It eats much RAM, possible, flipping clock and Home weather, but a little slow. :) Next to follow

If so, try disable M2D and run a single click of "Hibernate" in the tools folder, before starting TT ;)

So dont use this Ram overtaking thing ;)
Also Igo8 is one of the Rammonster, tom Tom is running fine on it.
On MN7 you can play with settings and Ram but nothing would really work on this PDA with this Rom, its too hungry

It's not normal, if you had fix 10 min ago it should be almost immediat as your GPS hardware is "hot" not "cold" in that case. Maybe you're in a shadow area for GPS signals . Do you use last RADIO ? It realy helps for fix time.

It's visible in taskbar out of the box. If not visible, seems you changed a setting somewhere, or tried to install another dialer ;)

In every 6.5 build it will drain your battery faster than 6 or 6.1 because it takes more ressources

More storage will not mean more RAM available. Disable Chome or M2D before trying to use MN. Even better, disable M2D or Chome and SR your device before using MN, with no extra interface on top.

It's always possible to take Office out, yes you'll have more storage.= :)

Best GPS solution on trin is TT7 - you can run M2D even on top of it, tomtom doesn't slow down. I installed Tomtom to Storage Card so it doesn't eat 12 Mo storage in rom. And it perfectly works without any slowdowns ;)

Oh no, don't fix it. "Storage card" is the conventional name of its self. If you have installed Programs on the Storage Card you became problems if the name will be changed.

Yes, although since WM6.5, RAM consumption from ActiveSync has grown :(


Now, good news is that ickebins sent me some corrections for MUIs so it can be all in german, I am seeing with him when we can add to the rOm :)

I plan at least 3 versions : nUdE, for minimalistic interface, but well served in functionality (no loss), Chome for Titanium interface, and Manila for Touchflow interface, so everybody can be happy :)

I have been busy at work + porting newer builds but from COM2 branch (21864, 21872 & 21874, all not done, some things better and some things less good, same WM6.5 interface, no WM6.5.1 as 234xx builds.

I will leave you around Christmas ... I will cook on the BlackStone then, but I will release Trinity german rOms as I said, and I will give you all a generic German trinity kitchen for WM 6.5, so you can all cook your own rOms ;)

First of all, thank you nAr for this great ROM. Hopefully we can make this even better before your blackstone arrives :)

Here are a few things that have been bothering me (except for typos in some of the translations, but I'm going to fix that with narshorn's help):

- I'm missing a documentation for the included cabs: Are they just optional, or recommended to install? Some of the cabs are self-explaining by their names, others are not.

- The included GPS viewer keeps crashing nearly 99% of the time. TT7 is working fine, and I have radio 1.56.70.11 installed. No idea why this is happening.

Regarding the included applications, I'm more than happy. Although it would be very nice to have a short list of the apps and their version numbers just to keep them updated. The only thing I would suggest to add is a WMDC icon from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295193.

First try to do a hard reset by pressing the two softkeys (the buttons right above the two phone keys) and the reset button all at once. If that doesn't work, flash again. Press the power, camera and reset button simultaneously to enter bootloader.
I never timed first boot exactly, but anything longer than 10-15 minutes is not normal.

I mean, when phone starts, then you press the 2 softkeys up the green and red buttons at the same time, while doing this stylus, release stylus then keys. You must enter grey screen where it says "press bla bla" do so and it reboots.

Then it must boot normally
If not even then soft reset

Assuming you have hardSPL 1.2 :

- After you flashed new rOm from bootloader mode, you let the phone restart for 5 secs or so, and then Hard Reset manually. Be sure to get the grey screen and "green" button then "Ok to boot".
- If stuck then, just soft reset.
- If still stuck, try a 2nd soft reset.
- if all this doesn't work, reflash rOm.

Normally on FRA rOm, 1st boot timings approx :

00 s : boot
35 s : logo "Win Flag"
1'50s : configuration screen that takes you to calibration etc.

On 2nd boot (after customization settings etc) it may hang eventually, so soft reset in case.

2nd boot time is faster hopefully

Make a Hard reset und use Hard SPL or Soft SPL.
When your PDA is recogniced by USB xou can reflash. Its all written in Newbiethread and easy

after that some more red letters flash but i can't read them.

You can always enter bootloader by holding camera+power+pushing reset at the same time. Then try to reflash it with the same or a different rom, this should always work in bootloader (= the multicolored screen).

I guess there are lots of german users right now flashing their trinity for the very first time with a cooked rom, because narshorn made the only WM6.5 german rom until now :D. So, at least read the newbie guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552757 (you don't need to install Tomme45i's rom in step 4), and if you still have problems try hard-reset and soft-reset after that: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_Resets

Zak should add the links to a tutorial in the first post I guess. And, don't dump your trinity, when you properly flashed radio and hardspl, there's always a way to get it working. I really like narshorns work, but there's also a nice german WM6.1 rom from lalle here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380151. And btw: Cooking my own rom in a kitchen I install new roms many times a day, and narshorns rom was always working and is clearly not the culprit here. Just keep on trying, and report back when you succeed.

- be patient, I know it's hard when your phone is not working
- try reading and understanding as much as you can, even if it takes a long time
- stop editing you single last post with your current status, as this tends to get things complicated when people answer to your posts.

So, you successfully flashed one rom, I'm sure there will be many others follwing. Just keep on trying, it's not too hard after all.

Don't worry am still on it.

With ickebins we are trying to roll out the last english bits from the rOm and make it stable, because the prototypes I built since 9.9.9 are not so nice and crash often. So many rOms built that won't go public, just because of this :)

Now, the news:

- I think I found my error. Beeing to greedy to add nice modules, that are not fully compatible with Trin. So, a little go back, and I'll get it working.
- I found the way to have more RAM on the Trin, testing this now and it works, courtesy of dan15, he found it. Now it's great to have 23,93 Mo free at startup with Touchflow enabled :)

- I will try to update the cab that doesn't overwrite. Thanks for reporting.

to white_Avenger, when you have flashed 0.999, you need a hardreset after flashing.
For Hard SPL, I ve used 1.20 for flashing and 1.30 for radio. After Radio flashing, Im back to 1.20.

Since my last flash no Crash at all(if I dont play too much with TomtOm :) but this is a RamProblem, not a Rom)

For the every day use a slim and reliable ROM is more important than a fancy one with many programs, tools, skins etc. that runs out of memory, drains the battery in one day or crashes when you really need your phone or navigation...

Meanwhile I tested Supersports "23506 Lite w Addons". Super responsive and more than enough free memory. Wow! Almost IPhone-like. But after two freezes in one day that required hard resets and a corrupted SDHC card I am back to the old, reliable WM6.1.

Yes, see my signature for the version.
Narshorns 9.9.9 is quite stable but TT with Europe map often failed to load because there was not enough free memory. I also had the impression that it's emptying the battery faster than Lalles 6.1.

Yes, Configuration_Network is to auto-parameter your device by operator, etc. Install, then choose your operator in the list and it configures your device even for MMS :)
Then you can de-install that cab, not needed anymore. :cool:

Configuration_Network is not only missing the translation, but but also the provisioning info for germany.

If anyone has problems setting up the provider, he could try http://rapidshare.com/files/174976651/MossisConnectionSetupGER.cab.html. Not sure, if it works, though, have never tested it.

Yes , the not enough memory messages mostly when you don't have much ram left, for Comm Manager ofr Youtube. This youtube comes from Iolite, device that has more RAM than trinity. You can install Official Youtube cab from the site, it won't display those memory errors.

AutoLock ? I'm afraid you have to do it manually ... Menu -> Sperren

But device is kindda locked when you push power off ... only power button can wake up device ...

Well the EZInput doesn't have that key Ctrl for copy operations, because it is supposed to have the copy option either in Menus or on screen when you want to select a text then hold the copy menu would appear ... :confused:

You also noted that EZInput 2.1 doesn't behave well in Landscape ... due to the fact this is a Package from Mega, and the Mega doesn't support lanscape well (apparently), nor does the Trin in fact, scrolling becomes sluggish and the Cleartype can't even be enabled ... :(


EDIT : will add the Hibernate tool in next release, and for Tomtom users, on the next release, if you copy the short "TomTom Navigator.lnk" into Windows\Startmenü\Programme, then you'll be displayed a nice tomtom highres icon, custom made ;)

There are a lot of trinitys with dead wifi lately. Did you experiment with another rom, or did this just happen after nars new release? I would like to know how this happend, to avoid bricking wifi myself.

The WLAN chip is like a computer of its own: It has a processor, ram and rom and can run a program (most likely its firmware :)). If something isn't properly initialitzed, it will stop working.

You don't have to learn the details, just follow the thread until someone comes up with a solution. And just to be sure: You were running nArs rom for the last few weeks? And: Do you just get the WLAN error at bootscreen, or is wlan actually not working?

Edit: Now I read it, your wlan seems to be dead. No solution yet :(

I've tried to flash your Olipro 1.20 and it doesn't work too. The result is that my trinity is looping between the rainbow screen and flashing screen. When flashing begins, the grey screen went after a few seconds to black and then back to the rainbow. After a reset the same. Now I'm flashing the Beta 9.9.9 back and it seems that this will work. (now 64% :D). Yesterday the same problem.

I give up and I accept that my WLAN is dead (RIP!).

...ahhh, ready with flashing the nAr-ROM. Works again :cool:

Olipro 1.30 protects itself and the radio rom from being overwritten.

If you want to downgrade to 1.20 it will work only when you start the update with EnterBootloader.exe and not with the key press.

If the Rainbowscreen says Olipro 1.30 you entered the SPL the wrong way.
