FM Radio is pretty much device specific, i really doubt that it will ever work on raphael.

Eh I'm not really worried about it if I can edit it somehow to work I will if not oh well. As far as ezinput got the hardware keyboard working and now just need to get the sip menu to launch naturally.

I'm using EzInput 2.1 from Nikoan89, and my FN+Keys work fine. What doesn't work is the SIP Menu (only option is for "Touch Input"). You MUST use the "et9ime.dll" from the Fuze XT9 package for the hardware keyboard to work properly. I'm not sure if that's what breaks the SIP Menu (I don't think it is), but I know that messes up the name suggestions w/the HTC Messaging Client.

EzInput 2.1 from Nikoan89?

I tried it but it won't. There is a kmap for fuze but some fn+keys won't work. Its here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4241840&postcount=487).

I also tried to use et9ime.dll from EzInput 1.5. All Fn+Keys worked but XT9 got missed up. :(

No idea about name suggestions.

Do you have fully work ezinput 2.1? no matter about SIP Menu and HTC Messaging Client ( I used windows default ).

All function keys are working and t9 only issue I have now is sip menu (which I made a mortscript for to show the sip menu) and saving custom words after soft reset...which I beleive is a issue with et9ime.dll

The fn+ keys are a keyboard map file and only need to replace the kbd and reg et9 isnt needed for the fn+keys to work properly on the fuze.

The MUST is false I beleive I just replaced the new et9ime.dll with the old one I had from ezinput 2.0 and it saves my words after reboot and shows suggestions fine...only thing that changes is the style of the suggestions, instead of the new dropdown system that scrolls it reverts back to the grey bar on top of the keyboard with suggestions.

I'll work to see if I can patch the new one somehow so that it saves the words but I can't make any guarantees

I'm home sick today so I'll try to pump out another release today.

Alright after a few hours it is definately the et9ime.dll...either we ahvea fancy menu that will not allow you to add words, or the old bar ontop of keyboard but will add words, so whats the vote guys?

Yeah, that fix just includes the keyboard map file, but not the et9ime.dll as well. That's why it only partially works.

The FN+keys mostly work, but the FN+SPACE (SYMBOL) doesn't work using the newer et9ime.dll, and that's actually what I use the most . I don't use XT9 for word suggestions anyway, so that function (or lack threreof)doesn't bother me. Currently I'm just using the Nikoan89 EzInput 2.1 package, with the Leo IME Engine, and I just overwrite the et9ime.dll with the original Fuze one and add the Fuze keyboard mapping & registry entry. That's worked pretty well for me. I'll use the same procedure with your ported version, and it should work fine. So if you have everything resized already, I can use it now :).

@CRACING
I can upload my XT9 Fuze KB Mapping override package, if you want to try it with Nikoan89's EzInput package. It's basically the same as mcarroll's cab, but it includes the Fuze et9ime.dll.

Actually I redid the kbd files like you said and replace the t9ime.dll with 2.0s and it works fine lol so we arrived at the same thing pretty much, although I do like the new suggestion menu, but functionality over beauty I suppose

Yeah, I don't know if XT9 works. I see word suggestions pop up, so I guess that means it works? I guess I'm not sure what you mean by "works", lol. I guess you'd have to be the judge.

Or you can just wait until mrhayami finishes the new port.

Haha

Don't work mean, XT9/ABC switch to XT9 or vice versa. If you want to switch it, you have to slide the hw few times and tap on the switch few times so then it gets switches. Same thing to switch back.

Never had that happen O.o i tap the button and yay it works lol.. looking more into the kbd files

Thanks to programmatix I will probably use his dotnet app for the sip menu, since there is no need to install mortscript or another software.

EDIT: Got all fn+keys working except symbol and cent...got the rest of the fuze fn keys working tho.

FUZE UPDATE:
i have a keymapping fix that makes the top symbols row work, as well as the numberpad. the only things that don't work are the ¢ symbol, the = symbol, the Symbols menu of the spacebar, and the T9 menu on the right key.

Hopefully i can continue working on fixing these and release a fix! for now, here's the installer!
I got = and t9 menu working, still can't figure out why cent and symbol will not work I added it in from a att fuze pack from a previous ezin pack and rewrote those entries into a new kmap...but it still will not work...

Fuze KMAP Fix:

258201

CAB EXT OEM

The KMAP isn't perfect but it works for me the only two buttons I could not get to work were the cent sign and symbols. It does however spaz every once in a while when using ezinput if you click the text field before it loads it will display the wrong keys when pressed, to fix back out of the screen and open it again it should go back to normal. I apologize in advanced for the hasty kmap but I barely use my hardware keyboard so the progress is slow but I'm getting there. I will try to retype the entire map if possible with some resources I have found.

I'll give it a shot I'm still new to this lol but I'm sure I can figure something out. I am almost certain this is done through the kdb files which I do not know how to open yet, it corresponds witht he xml mapping of the key placement and tells at what position a letter, symbol or number exists...

It is uncertain many of us have tried it seems to be hardcoded into the exe even hex editing didn't seem to do anything for me and I know capt and a few others have tried.

Also I have never used niko's port what you say is he has the arrows hidden but then on a long press of the 12# button it displays them? I think that can be done through the xmls, from what I'm seeing inside it has a map much like the kmap files do inside after pos and such.

After a long day at work I've been thinking, I will make two packs one with the arrows one without, I do not feel it is right for me to take noons idea of the hidden buttons, unless I think of a different way to have them hidden and recalled...To me since I've ported things it would be as if someone took something I worked hard on and replicated with a slightly newer version... and judging by how long it has taken me to do almost a complete port of leo exts I would be a little upset... I will talk to noon and see what he feels.
My vacation starts tomorrow at 6pm and I do not know if I will post much in that week so please bear with me.

Nice keyboard you got there, btw i just want to ask what are the dependency files required for this Keyboard to work properly so i don't need to hard reset or if i have to i could reduce the risk of hard resetting. I previously tested Nikoan's Ezinput 2.1 port before but i ended hard resetting even if i have Manila 2.1 which i think many dependency files should be built in there. Now i have Ezinput 2.0 running fine without a problem, so i just want to know the dependency files for this keyboard to work, thanks

working w/my co-worker (RSW686) i think there may be a solution for removing the arrow buttons!

it's in the 0D09.xml file, 1st line should read: h="269" instead of the h="329"

...as well as removing the references to the images for the arrow buttons in the bottom of the same .xml (lines 395 through 410).

this allows the arrows to remain on the 2nd page/numbered keyboard, but not appear on the regular portrait qwerty keyboard.

Aw... hate to see you leave...

Sometimes I wonder... I am always a step behind... when I was using a QVGA device, everything was about VGA, and I was trying to catch up by porting the VGA stuffs to QVGA. When I finally bought a VGA device, everything is now about WVGA and I'm still catching up by porting WVGA to VGA. This time, I'm going to wait until Windows Mobile 7 released, else I won't change my device.

lol you didn't step on any at all we are all here to share xD I was just telling him why make a version without it when the same pack has been done lol less work I have to do.

Like I said before I'll be here just not going nuts xD I made sure I kept my fuze so I could continue vga porting with you all.

And yes the messaging client paperclip thingy is supposed to have a menu scroll out to its left! So I'm still not sure whats up with that since nothing was changed and in my fuze rom I included almost all of the leo packs.

Hi,

When I tried your package, the hardware keyboard is not working properly with my modified keyboard layout. Weird thing is, pressing FN+K does not display ";", instead pressing FN+H does that. It just like everything that involve FN key is moved two keys to the left. I checked the key code and the same key code is produced (as previous version).

May I know what else is modified except the layout to VGA?

Hi,

Here's Leo's Menu Enchancement ported to VGA and is for WM6.5 build with large soft button. The black background is properly moved up.

HI programatix!
can you explain how you moved the background up? i'd like to fix it also for WVGA resolution.

To make it VGA, we just need to reduce the number of items to be displayed by editing the registry. Nice trick, eh? So to get back to WVGA, just increase the number of items to be displayed. Or, you can just use the app.reg from the original dump.

Have you try recmod it? All I did is to adjust the top border value. Maybe you need to sign it? I never do any signing after editing it and I'm not sure how to do it. You do not need to sign it if you cook it in (i think), so if you copy it to your \Windows folder, it might not work.

Any chance this could be used to edit the size of the clock on home screen in Sense 2.5? I have some ideas for the clock but I need to resize it and make it wider and possibly taller. I also need to break up the left and right sides of the flip clock but am sure this can not do that.

I looked at your screenshot in 1st post, and they're quite different from what I get: lower-left corner, I have 1 arrow cut out and I can't read the menu; moreover, I can't "Multi-object resize" cause I can't see the control. And OF COURSE, resizing windows changes nothing.
I've tried 0.5.1 btw, and I tried importing the XML for UsbToPCPopUp thinking the program should "autofit": no way, I get an error Le informazioni su come richiamare il debug JIT (Just-In-Time) anziché questa finestra

Well... the TreeView can be resized (up and down) but I didn't make it saveable. Maybe I'll do that next time. This is caused by the Windows 7 enlarged text for higher resolution (150%). My screen is 1920x1080 but I don't like the 150% font size enlargement because almost all apps have such problem. To change, right click of desktop->Screen Resolution->Make text and other items larger or smaller->Smaller -100%.

For the graphic glitches... if you look at the TreeView carefully, the objects are normally grouped into scenes. So you should only "tick" one group at a time, not all of them. Some are grouped into types where down below the group is seperated by portrait and landscape. For now you'll have to manually expand and select the required mode (landscape or portrait)

Touch Pro. Well, actually there is no problem, except the shift key. When shift is pressed once (and released), it will cause CAP to turn on. If shift is pressed + any char key, only that key is capitalized (as it should).

The problem is, if it turn CAP on, pressing it again will not turn off CAP (it will stay on). Instead, to turn it off, I need to press any other key first (which will be capitalized) and then press shift again. Hi,

This is Album_3_2_20113120_0 ported to VGA.

If HTC Menu Enchancement is installed, it will automatically use it. The problem is, there might be some conflict in the menu item highlight if HTC Menu Enchancement is used. I'm in the process of figuring out what's wrong.

Files in zip are ported files only. Full package required. Too big for me to upload the whole package (8MB).

EDIT1: Reuploaded with correct patched Album.
EDIT2: Attached patched Media Toolkit. Menu seems a little off. Tested by just copying files to \Windows without cooking and using Sense 2.1

Those pictures don't look like they include Social Networking support. See here:

http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv267/Captain_Throwback/AlbumMenuOptions.jpg

Your 3rd icon is different than mine (the 4th one is off the screen). Does it bring up the same Menu Options? I believe they are "Mail", "Facebook", & "YouTube" (the 4th icons options are displayed in this picture).

What about the "Albums" view? Is the slider visible (that allows you to choose between device & Facebook)? Or are all those things part of the Social Networking Package?

@ everyone:
Sorry guys. I've compressed the wrong file in the zip. It was the unpatched version. I've reuploaded the zip with the correct patched file.

I tested Album by copying it to a folder, not \Windows and run it from that folder directly. Without certain file, the icon change to mail icon. When I copy it to \Windows folder, the icon is the same as yours. One thing odd, when I tested it when it is in other folder (not \Windows), the landscape preview list is displayed correctly (4 images per row), but when I copy it to \Windows, it shows 5 images per row.

Ok, not really a porting question persay, but has anyone gotten the new Swype package (IME_Swype_3_9_10_10_5032_0) from the Leo to work correctly? It resizes itself automatically to VGA but in doing so seems to cut off the actual swyping saying it "will operate with limited functionality". Am I missing something or will it just not work period?

Great work, programatix. Looks good so far. Any plans on fixing the Landscape view, and also the Albums/Facebook views? I've attached pictures of what I mean. In Portrait, at the bottom of the Albums view, there should be a slider (you can see it in Landscape). Is there any way to adjust those items as well?

In Portrait, at the bottom of the Albums view, there should be a slider (you can see it in Landscape). Is there any way to adjust those items as well?

The first screen is what I was talking about previously. If HTCAlbum and its whole package is not in Windows (just copy it to other folder), it works fine (4 columns), but when it is moved to Windows, it shows 5 columns. I need to know what cause this.

The second screen, I couldn't get that to work. I guess it is accessed by tapping the "Album" menu (left soft button). This is because i'm still using Sense 2.1 and i'm guessing that it is other package. Please find out which package is that.

The rest of the screens seems like Manila related. I guess if Manila gets ported, they will appear fine. Anyway, they are from other packages too. So, if they are not dependent on Manila, ported the related packages should solve it.

Btw, is the menu working fine? Is the any overlapping on the items when selected/highlighted? If not, which version of Menu Enchancement do you use?

2nd, is the ported Media Toolkit working fine? The only problem i have is the menu. First level menu appers fine. 2nd layer menu appears way up on the screen. Before being ported, first level menu also appeared that way. I didn't have time to check the port properly as it was late already (2am).

Thanks.

EDIT1: While driving to work, I tried fooling around with Album. I think the 1st screen solution can be solved by resizing some images. I'm gonna try that when I reach home tonight.
EDIT2: Yup, confirmed working with resized images. Also got the touch wheel zooming in and out smoothly.

I wonder if replacing my ModelName.txt to be "T-Mobile_LEO" will mess up my AT&T proxy, though. I guess i'll find out.

Does this package fix the "limited functionality" issue AND the issue of it not working at all, or does it just fix the former?

Well, it's kind of working now. Now I get the "limited functionality" message. That, and in landscape it's still WVGA. Does yours have the same behavior? Does the Device ID in Settings need to be set differently too? Because I get the message telling me it wasn't meant for my device .

i havent tried it on my fuze, i havent flashed it in months but on my rhodium i cook with that pkg i posted and have no errors or limited functionality. are you sure the modelid.txt isnt getting overwritten by your raphael one? that is the only file needed i believe to make it work with full functionality. about the wvga size in landscape, there is a .ini file in the pkg that you should be able to fix that pretty easy i believe :)

That's the first thing I looked for, but as it turns out, I don't even have that file in my kitchen at all (which might explain why it wasn't working before). After adding the one from the T-Mo Leo, for some reason it still tells me I have the wrong device. I don't also have to change the Device ID, do I? I think I have a provxml updating it to HTC_P4600, but nothing affects the modelname.txt file.

As far as the ini file, I saw it in there, but it already has reference to VGA in it, so I wasn't (and still am not) sure what to change it to.

Ehi Captain, I think LandScape PNG's were wrong. And there were something to change here and there. I packed updated png's, .txt for model and updated ini... just unzip it inside the EXT (or maybe try in Windows\Swype if you don't want to cook) and it should work, please let me know! ;)

btw. if you like this landscape swype theme, say thanks HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604949): I just converted bmp's to png's and fixed something here and there before packing up.

i am using rhodium s2 oem/ext, that swype pkg is the only other thing in my rom from the leo 2.07 rom besides slacker radio. i dont understand why its not working, i dont have anything else in my device id that says tmoleo. the battery is dead on my fuze, i just plugged it up and will cook a rom with this pkg and see if it will work for me when i get a decent charge.

TCPMP HTC skin (WVGA) for HD2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=634951)

It's a great-looking skin for TCPMP, however, it's WVGA only at this time. It looks like the skin.xml controls the placement of everything, but since it's not a standard MS XML file, XmlGui doesn't work with it. Anyone willing to give porting it a shot? I can extract the files from the CAB if need be, but I'm sure most of you have the necessary tools to do that ;)

Here you go.

To turn it back to skin.xml

Rename .txt to .xml
Edit the file with XmlGui
Before using it

Edit with notepad
Find and Replace '"' with [blank]
Find and Replace 'y=' with 'top='
Find and Replace 'x=' with 'left='
Remove the first line <root> and the last line </root>

If you are confused on what I'm saying here, just compare the original skin.xml and the modified skin.txt and you'll see what I mean.

Well, I tried it, but the result is poor. I'm thinking that in addition to the XML resizing, something needs to be done as far as resizing/adjusting the bmp files. I'm not sure what, though .

EDIT: Yup, definitely the bitmaps. I resized the large one and it looks a bit better, but for it to work right, the large bitmap has to be adjusted so that the coordinates match exactly to what's specified in the XML. Now I just have to find someone who can do that .

EDIT 2: Looks like I'll be enlisting the help of my wife and her Photoshop skills. I think between the two of us, we cna make this VGA skin happen (including Landscape!) :).

Stay tuned!

Btw, if you want to see the bmp in XmlGui, just add an attribute called "BgImage" or "Img". You can refer to HTC's xml file to see how the attribute can be used. This way, you can adjust the size of the element to your taste in XmlGui and then use photoshop to resize to that size.

CommManager can handle multiple resolution (except it always starts drawing at position y=52). However I'm not sure about HVGA, but I believe we can just edit the exe and overwrite one of the resolution with the resolution we want. If you want to give it a go, just search for SetWindowsPos() function in IDA. You'll see a lot of branches there and you can edit it from there.

There is way to modding the xml layout for letting your app see it?

Hi,

Here's Leo's Menu Enchancement ported to VGA and is for WM6.5 build with large soft button. The black background is properly moved up.

Is there a reason that when I apply the files to my windows folder and import the reg file I lose the nice menus completely?

I figured its a DLL, a language file, and 2 images.
And them some registry entries.

But, the menus become very ugly after applying. Not at all like the pictures that Captain_Throwback posted.

Is this something that only works when cooked in?

If so, could you briefly explain why that is or provide a link to some good information on why?

Yes, Menu Enhancement must be cooked in for it to work. Sense must also be running, else WM native menu will be shown. However, there is a reg edit that can make it run without Sense.

I see that you are using Energy Rom. Isn't it already cooked in?

Actually, the version cooked in does not have the background behind the menu go all the way to the top. I actually did not even notice it, until another user pointed it out.

Now it's like a squeek in your car that a friend found. Never knew about the issue, but now it bugs me.

There is another version that you posted that also corrects the centering of the menu. I think I sent him a link to that.

He explained over IM about the kernal checking if it is in the ROM or the user partition. And it isn't cooked in the ROM, then it is not trusted. Or you can do some magic with signing and things, but easier to just cook it in.

Thanks.

Found one interesting modification with your recent NewContactCard

If you change this reg key from 1 to 0 you can bind NewContactCard and HTCMessageEnchancement (pressing by Save to Contact will open NewContactCard)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCMsgEnhance]
"NOCONTACTEDITOR"=dword:00000001

In MessageEnchancement there are some more reg entries. I suppose, it is possible to bind NewContactCard with HTCPhoneCanvas. But how? Anyone can explain this reg settings?

Found one interesting modification with your recent NewContactCard

If you change this reg key from 1 to 0 you can bind NewContactCard and HTCMessageEnchancement (pressing by Save to Contact will open NewContactCard)
