Hello all,
First and foremost, I am somewhat new to this rom/flashing business, so please go easy on me. I have tried searching this one time and time again but to no avail, so I'm posting here and looking for a quick answer if feasible. I'm currently sporting the Tmobile Mytouch 3g (32b board).
1) I have read time and time again that we are supposed to upgrade our SPL and Radio to suit certain roms. However, I wanted to know why is that?
the SPL I get, for the most part, but what exactly does the radio control? I was successfully able, using the 1 click root method, to root my phone (32B magic which has a radio = 2.22.19.261 and HBOOT = 1.33.0006). That last bit is the dreaded "Perfect SPL" which should not be able to work but I have been able to install every rom thus far under the sun. However, I cannot tell if not having the latest and greatest radio/spl has effected my rom performance in any way?
Which leads me to my next question...
2) If I upgrade my SPL and Radio to custom one, or development one, then how do I revert it back to the SPL and Radio that originally came with my phone? (i.e. nandroid backup?)
