Right here goes.
First of all the my background. I'm a 40 year old elevator technician in London not an IT guy so please be patient. I have just converted from 10 years using palm devices and have bought an Orbit2 from ebay with winmob6 professional installed on it. A friend has the same devise yet he gets excellent network coverage in my house and I get none at all. We are both on Vodafone.
Looking in the device info it says it a polaris, ROM version 1.25.206.3 WWE, Radio version 1.58.25.14. After finding this site and doing some searching on it, it appears its not an uncommon problem and one answer is to install "murata radio". Can anyone give me a step by step how to do this as things like "flashing the rom" and "creating HardSPL's" make me feel like I havent got a clue. they also talk about "back up all data", is this just doing an activesync?.....please dont "flame me" (at least I understand somethings) as I am a noobie.
P.S. Yes I have tried contacting the sod on ebay who sold it to me but I'm getting no response. I will escalate if I have to but its a nice unit and I'd rather just get it working.
