HELP: 40% battery after 16 hours of charging

Hi,
I've a big problem with my htc diamond and its 900 mAh original battery. After 9 months of middle-high usage I can't charge my battery more than 40%. Charging is very very slow (40% after 16 hours of charging)
A couple of weeks ago everything was ok.

Is my battery broken?
Is it an HTC problem?
Is there something i could do?

ho un grosso problema con il mio HTC diamond e la sua batteria originale da 900mAh. Dopo 9 mesi di utilizzo medio-alto non posso più caricare la batteria oltre il 40%. La ricarica è lentissima (raggiunge il 40% dopo 16 ore)
Un paio di settimane fa sembrava che tutto andarre bene.

E' da sostituire la batteria?
E' un problema del telefono?
Posso fare qualcosa?

First step: change your battery, use new one.

i wouldnt say that..i have dimoand for a year and i dont have this problem...dont know about this problem

try use dimoand until device shuts down and than try to charge the phone..

Try using the battery conditioning program.

I don't know the name nor the link, but I know it's in Development and Hacking.

That'd be your best bet.

Well, I had something like that once, but it was a problem with display only because after soft-reset it showed full battery.
