Hey everyone:). I am developing a toolkit for easily getting Android to you phone...I will have a windows release and a windows mobile release. The Windows release, futuristicly should work on Linux and Mac OS X -- If all works out.

The abilities of the program? Good question:).
* Auto detect Android drive(s)
* Delete or Rename or Leave alone data.img (depends on whats being downloaded)
* Download latest zImages, rootfss, system.imgs
* Backup you data.img, zimage, rootfs, etc. in a "Working Build" directory.
* ...Never wonder again if you have the latest files?
* Haret default.txt editor (built in:))
* Sanity Check (Checks for rootfs, zimage, etc)

Yes...You COULD use the google projects pages and such...but they don't give you a cool UI for your phone and don't allow you to make backups automatically.

I have a ton of the windows portion done. I do need beta testers and ANYONE interested can message me...if you match the following criteria:
* Know how to use Android (install and otherwise)
* Know how to use Windows.
* Are not afraid of breaking your builds...
* Willing to REALLY help out.

Anyway. Thanks for reading...Message me on AIM, Yahoo, or MSN -- Or PM for applying. PLEASE include a IM address...i cant stand doing e-mail for developing purposes.
If you would like to donate my paypal is rot_natalicw@yahoo.com. All donations go towards making the project the best it can possibly be!

There will be betas out so those who are not too into testing "maybe" working things, we got you covered!

I think your idea sounds great. Please add me to your list of beta testers. I'd love to play along. I'll email you my contact info. I'm on aim most everyday during business hours, can log on when requested in the evenings (us-central time).

Hi all,

Just confirming that this toolkit works in Windows 7 (should work in Vista as well) and seems to work fine inside an x64 environment at this time. Bugs found:

- Checks A: for android files even though it is highly unlikely that you'd have your android files on floppy

But excellent app all in all, cant' wait to see what it becomes :)

Hey, are you building that thing in Java. I could be crazy but it sorta looked like swing to me. My initial impression is that it would be c++ but wanted to double check. Maybe I just haven't seen swing in a while, or have been staring at the screen for too long.

Changes of this post:

* Sanity check and drive scan check if drive is active (so doesn't check floppy if nothing is in it)
* Sanity check is a seperate form.
* Others? Lol...

I will be making a new release soon.

-- Any chance we can sticky this? lol just wondering:-D!

Features so far:

Extensive sanity check.
Sanity check on load
Turn off splash
Backup current build -- Need to develop restore.
Intuitive user interface.

Soon there will be a beta for the public.
This is going to make it super simple to push releases and patches...I am going to have kind of a VITAL setting for updates. I am going to give control to the developers via a modified version of paFileDb. So, we will be able to track changes and more...

I intend to allow access to Applications in the end as well. A lot of cool stuff:-D

This will not backup anything but the files off the SD Card...I have another project that will backup the actual apks for downloaded apps (which will be an addition).

But this makes it easier to test new builds by being able to not need to search them out.

Message me on AIM or whatever you choose.
