The PDAVIET V82 (Build 23016) is the best WM6.5 cooked ROM today (who knows tomorrow). It works well, stable, fast and smooth. Unfortunately, I failed to change the Page Pool size and need to edit the registry myself at "Minimum Tap Time = 0" for making the touch screen more sensible.

I have been using this ROM for few days without any problem. I had tried many cooked ROMs yesterday of build 23017, 23034, 23028,23027 but none of them are working well or very buggy.

Looks very hot indeed.

How 'heavy' is it? Any reason for me to try it on a 64/128 ELF?

Ok I could not RESIST, so I tried it out. Seems to be able to run on my Elf 128/64, but I got to admit, I doesnt run it very well. The graphics are laggy, enter/exit prgs are slow and the scrolling in Start Menu is abit fubared by lag.

Have to admit tho, Im impressed it can run 'decent' at all, but using this on my Elf instead of topix's 6.1 rom is downright crazy.

But overall it seems very stable, and havnt encountered any major bugs as f yet.

the Both have m2d and chome included
But aBout the programs idk cause i didn't try the ROM yet .. i just found it so i share it cause i know that PDAVIET ROMs is Better than else

The ROM is okay but It has the old "butter finger" problem where the screen uncontrollably scrolls up or down. Can somebody confirm this? Or has anyone found a solution to the problem other than replacing the touchflo with older drivers & a re-cook?

I reflashed to try the fix you attached but, unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. The annoying thing about the "butter finger problem" is when you click on a file inside the file manager instead of opening the file, the screen either scrolls up or down and you have to retry. Sometimes you need to tap 2x or 3x to open a file. Very annoying! I wonder why only me is experiencing the problem?

I tried other ROM's be it the old Onyx Ultimate WM6.1 or WM6.5 up to kancrutt's build and none has the butter finger problem! Can you please relay to Pham Quang the problem and his suggested solution? As dsixda pointed out the solution is to use the old biotouch & touchflo drivers during the ROM build.

I have high regards for PDAViet specially nncuong so I hope somebody there could fix the problem and make this build (or the next build) one of the finest elf(in) ROMs.

Nice to know that I'm not the only one having the same problem. Looking back at the posts looks like butter finger problem is not an issue. :confused: whatever we found out to solve the issue pls. share.

I downloaded the RUU_V82 but didn't find the RUU.exe file...

I am confused in this stage....because every previous Rom's which I had downloaded includes the RUU.exe

If Someone may help as how to extract the RUU.nbh..then it will great.

but how should I run it...:confused: should I Extract the Nbh File in a folder then copy the RUU in the same folder and then run the RUU.Exe...

The rom IS WORKING EXCELLENT..awesome...
I thank you for Your Great Efforts for this ROM...

But one thing you May Suggest is

I Use Airtel GPRS in mumbai a GSM carrier...for me opera 4.2 works great with Excellent Speed but a bug i saw is whenever i open any mail accounts eg: Gmail,
the password box is blank...and when i tried in opera 9.7 it worked...i can type the user ID but the password doest come in the box even if I type in 4.2 cab..

Please if you have any suggestion...

i have the same problem!...and its really annoying. when you try to read your text, the scroll bar starts going up and down...or when you trying to select a contact to call. I hope someone can fix this problem soon, otherwise from this issue the rom is great. thx.

Thanks for the confirmation bro! I was looking for a possible solution in all the forums and all that comes closer are the biotouch files which I doubt even exist in the v82 ROM.

There is a solution which I earlier pointed out in me previous posts which is to re-cook the v82 ROM using old Elf(in) touch drivers. I don't know which drivers but definitely our new ROM chefs like kancrutt, depakjan, sendhiloo7, fcukfcukfcuk, miky6682, etc. are using the proper drivers hence, there is no butterfinger problem in their ROM's.

That's my take on the problem & it would be asking too much to request for it from PDAViet so I think this is it for this "could have been" a fine ROM. :(

My post was before I flashed and tested, after flashing I found out that the sms send problem was solved but the butterfinger problem is back! Please refer to my post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4532910&postcount=20) at the v83 thread. :(

Another problem in this rom is that bolth winmo 6.5 touch interface for startup and manilla 2d are togheder! the rom is insanely slow! i have elfin and v82 works as a crap here.

Same here except it has the butterfinger effect. Butterfinger effect = requires 2 or more screen taps to select an item (file, icon, menu,etc.) and unnecessary screen roll either up or down.

For me that's not working good! This is the only new ROM here at Elf upgrading that has this old butterfinger problem. :(

For those who dig the cooked CHome-Manila 2D combo of PDAViet ROM's, I found a fix by i3v5y of the HTC Diamond forum on the biotouch problem for their devices. It seems to work on our Elf(in) without the side effect of losing sideways swipe on text/mail screens as reported on the Diamond forum.

Warning:
For PDAViet ROMs only exhibiting butterfinger problems. Try at your own risk. Backup or rename the biotouch.dll file at the \Windows directory before applying the fix as it will be overwritten in the process.

It's not a perfect fix but somehow minimizes if not cures the butterfinger problem. Please feedback and report any findings.

Findings:
Can't close mail/sms & phone canvass screens using ok button. Workaround: exit mail using red end-call button & close mail/sms using task manager.

DISREGARD THE ATTACHED FILE & INSTEAD, USE THE FIX IN POST #47 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4586510&postcount=47).

The previous biotouch hotfix, while solving the butterfinger effect created annoying issues like problems in closing the sms & phone canvas screens thus, a better solution is needed.

Here's another attempt to fix the butterfinger effect that you may want to try. This is based on the posts at the Diamond forums specifically by "the_scotsman" who suggested disabling the TouchFlo in favor of WM6.5 kinetic scrolling. Instruction follows:

Backup / rename these files in \Windows directory: biotouch.dll, biotouch.exe & StartUPBioTouch.exe
Terminate kill the process "Biotouch.exe" using .Fred's Task Manager or MemMaid
Install the attached cab: daeinnor butterfinger fix.cab
Restart when requested

So far, testing looks good. Warning from my previous post applies.

WM6.5 and Manila 2D combination would be heavy for Elf. I would suggest using "Lite" ROMs or WM6.1 with Manila 2D instead.

I have installed this ROM to my HTC Touch phone it was working fine for last 2 weeks but since yesterday I am unable to Sync it with none of the computer or laptop or anyway. :( I am not so much Techno guy but was chkin how this 6.5 is and now this problem arises. So now I cant do much with it I want to try different ROM for my HTC Touch please reply asap. And please please remember that I am total newbie to all this so I will be very glad if you guys answer me in detail. I will make sure that I wont come to the person who will help me to bugg him or her but I need to get out of this issue asap. :(:confused:
