Hi, kinda new here... hoping to get into some android development in the near future, but I have a few things I'd like to figure out first.

Is it possible to push an app, as a system app, onto the T-Mobile G1, using the SDK and engineering bootloader? keep in mind, I do not have root access to the actual system. What I did was this: I used flashrec to make a nandroid backup of my system, then I flashed cyanogen's latest ROM, but decided I didn't want the hassle of reconfiguring the phone without the myfaves and other t-mo features. After that, I installed the modded engineering boot loader, and the SDK, and used it to restore my original image.

What I want to do, is push apps to the system using the fastboot and engineering bootloader, such that they operate as system apps. For example, I want SIM checker to auto-enable GPS if my card is swapped, and I want MD to be able to remotely back up and wipe my phone. Tethering would also be nice.

The other question is, if I install apps like this, will I be able to operate them or modify settings from the phone?

thanks in advance.
