View Full Version : Best alternative to Exec

I've had 3 different XDA's , the favourite by far being the exec (really a mini laptop).

Last year i dumped xda's in favour of the much hyped iphone, what a disaster thats been for me.

My emails / texts are have given people loads of laughs, big fingers on that little screen with no stylus ends up with stupid sentences, a classic was "joydogs" instead of "hot dogs".

"This Ducking iphone" became a firm favourite of mine.

The battery life is an absolute joke, the battery on the xda lasted a few days, a week with little usage, the iphone normally only lasts a few hours at best.

Now I'm coming to the end of my contract, and would love to go back to an improved xda (still got the exec, but would like newer / faster / more memory..

I must have push email, that i can't do without, plus builtin gps, and a proper qwerty keyboard.

I get 1200 mins and unlimited data with the iphone (02 UK), and would like a similar package.

Can anyone advise on what's available now, or in the pipeline (i saw an xda with a detachable keyboard on the o2 website last week, but it appears to have disappeared now)

From whats currently available from HTC....
HTC advantage is the next step up size wise from the Exec, has all u need but its a big boy. I rarely carry this in my suit pocket cos I look like I have 1 big boob.

HTC Touch pro 2 (Rhodium) is pretty awesome but no 3.5 jack grrrrrrrr

Function wise, its a goodun tho.

Higher res screen than your exec and much nicer keyboard to type on.

GPS is pretty slow (when compared to other new phones) to lock and battery life will give out after a day of being connected to net with push and general use.

Dare I say it.......Samsung OMnia Pro looks like it will be the shizzle - I think its got a OLED screen like my OMnia HD - Battery seems to last much longer with same usage.
