I had the same problem and tried many roms (also by Mike) and radios until Manila 1.2A (23017) and 1.00.25.05, which is reported as the best saving power radio.

Now, my pda last 4.5 days for normal use (no gps, no 3g, no radio), without any bugs (except today black screen while playing with radioFM = not yet known why).

Some ROMs also eat battery :mad:

As my experience, all ROMs by Mike are stable and fast (tried titanium, clean, extraclean A and B, manila1.2A), just try one not eating your battery (again recommend manila 1.2A).

for 1.15.25.14. 3G is off, wifi sometimes. Diamond works 2 days when i speak little. It's good result i think.

I've been using this ROM for the last week. For the most part I like it, it performs well and there are few bugs or incompatibilities.

I had to install a CAB to fix Bluetooth file transfer, it didn't work "out of the box". It's called "hc4 OBEXInboxEx 0.948 VGA.CAB" I highly recommend installing it, or including it in ROM if a new build is going to be made available. I also had to install the Internal Storage fix.

Among the programs that don't work well I have eWallet 6.1.3.24746, you have to use it with the direction keys, it doesn't respond well to the touch screen (weird). Since I can still use it, it's no big deal.

Battery life is normal, no better or worse that any other ROM I've had. I'm using the 1340 mAh battery, though.

A problem that I had is that at some point screen refresh was incredibly slow. I thought that some process was hogging the CPU, but no, SK-Tools showed no CPU spikes. Weird. I'll see if this happens again.

I did a analyze of the battery life and CPU usage with acbTaskman:
Normal CPU Usage in Idle mode is OK (<10%)! When System is locked (either S2u2 or Win 6.5 lock) the CPU usage is at ~50%!!! Why!?!?! This is same if screen is on or off. Without locking the Diamond (just turn off screen) battery usage is low again...

Sombody has any explaination!?

Battery drain is ok for me - like it was with 6.1... approximately.

Slowing dow happens to me also from time to time - especially if not used for one or two days and if in this time some SMS came in.
No process, no processor load (it seems) - after warm reboot it was normal again. doesn't bother me too much.

MICHAL... when considering a new ROM, could you please take the 28004? (this is incredibly fast compared to the 23xxx - and later versions (I didn't try the 28005 though, but nearly all from with 28008 and before 28004) are much slower again.

(tried them all on Polaris)
If you want to have more details, let me know... or may we help you somehow? Your ROM is incredible brillant...! It's a MUST to have it with the ultra-fast 28004... :D

It has to do with the Gfxboost utility. It's broken, not sure what it supposed to do, but it keeps screwing up the rom and causing laggy and broken screen refresh. You can disable it in settings/system/gfxboost. There's some story going around where it supposed to increase graphics performance, but so far it's only breaking screen refresh and you will not notice any other difference when disabling it.

1. I couldn't manage to set up IMAP mail client. Creation works, but it always returns an aothorization error ("wrong user name or password") - and I'm sure I entered both of them correctly.
Did anyone manage to get this run?

2. Since the creation of this mail account, I have (in SMS mode) a keypad problem: instead of the space bar I have now a split bar. Left side shows ".com" (and opens to several extensions if I keep it pressed), right side shows the letter "/".
In addition, T9 is turned off and cannot be activated. Seems to be in a different mode but I don't know how to switch it back manually.

It has the Phone Canvas (has to be enabled) with the Videocall button, but I've not tried it yet. I guess it should work.

No idea about language packs, I don't use Manila on my Diamond.

Also I use FlexMail for handling my email, the built in facilities just can't handle the ammounts of emails I need. So no idea about those issues with IMAP.

It seems I could solve them on my own - for those who encounter the same problems:

ad 1.
If you enter the server, you also have to enter the port number directly behind server name in the form of "xxx.yyyy.zzz:PPP" whereas "PPP" is the numeric port value:
+ ":143" for normal download (non secured)
+ ":993" for seucre (SSL) download

ad 2.
Seems to be an issue in the combination WM6.5 (does not close apps), EZInput (stores last mode) and TF Mail Client: in the last edit field, EZInput is switched to mail address mode - see above, T9 disabled - and when you leave this edit field, mail client is not resetting EZInput to normal mode. EZInput is not terminated (by WM6.5) and thus reutrns in the same mode.
Solution: Add new mail account, proceed until you get to the "Name" field - then EZInput is set to "normal mode" - then quit the setup by pressing the X button long (cancel & terminate app)

Hi Metalhead,

there are several ways, but the easiest seems (to me) to be to just delete the "locked" registry entries for these launcher apps.

I don't remember exactly how the registry entry for the locking was called, but you will recognize it when you see it. So I discribe it in a bit a fuzzy way. I did it already two months ago - it was simple, just follow these steps:

Use a registry editor
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / HTC / Manila2D / Launcher
and then [0], [1], ... for the icon number (counted from left to right, top to bottom starting with 0)
You will find 5 registry entries under the relevant "number" (folder/node). One of them is called somewhat like "locked" or "IsLocked" or whatever. If you look at this key you'll find a "1" in it (means: yes, locked).
Simply delete the whole key (NOT the number node, but just the "locked" (orwhatever) key)
Do this for all four locked entries (in [0], [1], [2] and [3])
Leave the registry editor ("Ok" or "Save" or .. depending on editor you use)
You probably will have to restart Manila (or if you don't know how, perform a soft reset) to make Manila re-load the launcher properties.

DONE. Now the icons are still there but you can remove them like any other icon you added.

I am trying this ROM

and having some trouble with my diamond.
Rom is working perfect, fast, good stuff in it, etc
but after 15min (usually time that I change some settings) freezes and soft reset doesn't help. After hard reset it works normaly, but the same story after 10-15min. By changing setting I mean, change ringotne, custominze tabs, and sync contacts.
Is this maybe because i use 1.09.25.23 radio?

I will try radio 1.15.25.14 as mike recommends.

Has anybody have another idea or solution?

If you have installed SHOWCASE task manager, uninstall it and try again. It has known issues with SMS & Email.

Meanwhile, Revolution is one of my previous favorite ROMs few months ago. If you are not a fan of TFlo, Sense fella, i suggest you give a try to BsB 6.5.3G 28002 ROM as well...

Your rom cured me from the flashdisease two months ago. Unfortunately, last week, I've started sensing with the Donsalari and GenY Roms. Sense 2.5 looks great (but, I think, especially new), but like the TF2.1 was in the beginning, a memory hog and battery drain (for me at least). I'll try to forget about it and get back to your fast & lite rom which is excellent for daily usage...

My question: any intentions for sense 2.5 low-ram rom soon?

Yes, this ROM is very good for those that look for a stable and close to OEM ROM. At least would you consider including the Internal Storage fix and the Bluetooth file transfer fix I mentioned a few pages back? Those are the only problems that I've found on the WM 6.5 Titanium ROM.

Appearently the strange battery issues seem to be caused by the battery fix cab in the addons folder of this rom. Someone once had this silly idea that increasing the update timer delay of the battery icon, would increase battery life. This is of course, completely useless and only causes erratic behaviour for the battery icon.

Oh and good to hear there might be a small chance for an updated version of this rom. The Diamond just isn't worth using without this rom.

ok, the problem with the slider isn't a big.
can't start the explorer in the internet tab. nothing happens... but youtube works perfect :D like the rest of the rom.
why i can't remove some progs in the programm tab?
GPS fix comes fast, sense is really fast, speaker is enough loud...
if the battery consumption will be ok and the rom keeps stable on my diamond, it's the perfect rom for me.

Yes it's a nice ROM. But I'm selling my Diamond, after having it for 1,5 years it's time to move on :) . Got a Hero to learn how Android does, and maybe move completely to Android and leave WM. If it wasn't for ROMs like this I would have sold my Diamond much much earlier, so thanks for them! :)

It's a problem with the Diamond. It just has too low battery for the device. Mine goes in charger every night, because i use it for email very often. Radio will not fix it, radio 1.15 only makes battery a little bit better and everything else smoother, but there is nothing, besides a different battery, that can solve this issue.

This ROM is awesome! It has given my XDA Ignito a new lease of life. I had a Diamond a couple of years ago when they first came out and then went over to Blackberry. I recently aquired an XDA and was not happy with it but after flashing this ROM it is loads quicker, hardly any lag and a lot more useable. One problem I have is no voice dialing. Is this available as a seperate download? I have searched but can't seem to find it.

well.. if you disabled your MMS connection in NoData, it's quite normal you can't use them.. just enable MMS data connection and it'll work fine.. Also if you have a trouble with battery consumption you should try different radio, there is a particular one mentioned in Post #1 (1.15.25.14)... you should check that out....

^ every time is disable gprs it gets sent through the wrong way. I have MMS in my allowance, but this sends it through GPRS or O2 web??...... i am yet to figure it out....



I have noticed a major problem on my phone running this rom, well not a major problem in some senses but more of a pain.

I don't know about anywhere else.... but in the UK it is a Monday and the 8th of March today.

Are you sure you have the year set to 2010 and not 2011 because 8th March 2011 is in fact a Tuesday.

Hi, all i can say's great job and thanks for sharing to us, it's a fast and stable rom i've ever used

but i got one problem on that, it's all great after few days used but yesterday just found that my phone speaker was not working anymore in normal using (outgoing call/incoming call), i cannot heard any thing while calling out and seems like cannot say any thing either (according to the one i've called,he cannot heard what i said totally).

and if i set "speaker on", that problem just disappeared and speaker just working fine,

I am getting very frustrated with this. I tried all the options and read all the instructions but no mather what I do, rom flash freezez at the 0% bar screen and I hove to take out battery to reset device. I'm running out of options and I really want this rom!

You shoul first read some stuff about diamond.For flashing custom ROMs u need HARDSPL. U have to install it just once and the you can flash any custom rom made for Diamond.U will destroy your phone if flashing ROM from another HTC model...

Yes, there should be a folder called "Extras" or something like that - I don't remember exactly the name. Inside there are some *cab files including different input methods.

Ok, I opened my kitchen and found it. The file is called "Show SIP Menu". Then the menu with different input methods will appear. But remember, that you have to click on this cab every time you want to change the input method. It has to be like that because when I was releasing my ROM there was no other solution for this keyboard. The best way is to make some shortcut on the desktop to this cab so that you will have quick access to it :)

Well... I think it's possible to add it in cab file but I don't remember if I have seen such cabs around.

Im not sure about the other revolution rom, i used 2.1a revolution and the block recognizer and letter recognizer are just disabled. I enabled it using sktools.

Hi everybody,

I've installed the 1.b ROM clean w/o Manila.
Then I've installed some programs like Tom tom , SPB Mobile shell...
Everything work fine but after some hours the GWES process raise up to 25MB of memory allocation causing some memory error problems.
The only way to let the momory decrease is a soft reset.

Pls, anybody experienced the same behavior ? Is there a way to address the problem ?

nice! to fully complete the pure htc diamond inputs feel, you can also try the ezinput diamond style :) The inputs just look crappy in the pic, but sure looks like the original when installed. It will be added to your inputs methods, just use the sktools after install

Nice find. I am glad to have different input methods. Besides, this ROM is working so smooth and everything is just superb.

Currently I have win 6.1

you have to HardSPL your device to Flash unsigned ROM. look on sticky threads how to do HSPL.

to use MTTY you have to bring your Diamond to bootloader mode and go to Active Sync and go to "Connection Setting" -> uncheck "Allow USB Connection" -> go to MTTY, choose USB -> then click OK -> after that, the script screen will pop out, and then Write "set 14 0" hit enter, then write "task 29" to format device, and then write "task 8" to restart device. done! after that do usual flashing Method, from PC or from Internal Storage.

When the clock alarm is triggered, the light comes up, but there is no sound or sometimes there is sound but it's skipping/lagging. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help! And by the way, its a very good rom.

(I used MTTY method to install rom. I installed 6.1 version with TouchFLO 1.2.)

I use default sounds, bundled with the rom, and these are in wav format. You can't use mp3 songs for clock alarm of windows mobile as far as I know. It's also skipping if I add a custom wav into a windows folder and use it in a clock application.
edit: The windows I have is actualy 6.5 and not 6.1 as I stated few posts back...

OK, I got it... AUTO_LOCK application is probably the one, that makes the alarm sound skipping or not working at all...
(Auto_lock application is located in the StartMenu/Addons folder).

Now the problem is that I need this application running, cause I dont want to lock it manually every time I put it in my pocket :)

Thanks a lot for this ROM, i've just finished installing it and it's GREAT! I used 6.5.1 Titanium.

I had installed HardSPL 1.38 and it would get stuck at Loading... over white screen at first, but HardSPL allowed me to upgrade to 1.93 from within itself, and with 1.93 the ROM installed fine. I'm using radio 1.09.25.23 which came with the device. I'll try some other versions only when i've averaged out the battery life to see if there are any difference. I get fairly strong wifi signal at uni and cellphone reception is good, so if battery life is good too i have no reason to change the radio. I'll try the GPS now.
