It doesn't seem to be working properly for me. When I tell it to show all my mail, it only shows 10 messages, not the 70 or so I have in my gmail. doesn't anyone else have this problem? By the way I'm using a Fuze.

it does not work for me. Suddenly calendar-sync doesn't work, too. Getting an 0x85010016-error. Any hints?

I got that error before as well but keep trying, I think they are still having some problems with it or maybe their server is a bit slow right now probably because of everyone trying it .. but it does eventually work..

Working fine here.
It was slow last night, but guess that is down to the initial load on googles servers

Was it not letting you sync at all? or was it connected but just slow.
Also was there a setting in gmail?

It's working for me - only problem I've got is the email tab in TF3D does not show the account and the new email button doesn't use it?
Any ideas?

I am using gmail with the m.google.com/sync already, what should I change to use the push function ?

go to programs -. activesync -> options -> exchange and check email.

Hmm, maybe I'm just shortsighted, but I'm not seeing how this is useful. Gmail already offers free POP3 support, so you can setup email on your phone to get emails from your Gmail account. Even if you don't like such a thing, Google also offers a J2ME Gmail app for use.
So is there something I'm missing or am I misunderstanding what 'push email' is?

The best you can do with POP/IMAP is check eevery 5 minutes - which may be "instant" enough BUT that will eat up data (even if there is nothing to download) and battery.
With push you'll pull a message when it's available but not be using data checking when there isn't.

Hmm, I see. So it's an issue of how fast you receive a email from your account and data usage. Alright, I understand now. Thank you for the response.

It still doesn't work if I enable email-sync. Without email all my events becomes pushed and synced. Don't know why there is that error...

I had errors too, but I tried to sync only calendar and contacts and then I added emails too. It works good now.
But everytime I setup new sync connection it makes problems, so I think it is necessary to try it several times...

It took an hour or so after I set it up for my emails to show up in my Outlook Account. Since then, it's been awesome.

Are you sure that there's a less battery consumption and less data traffic when you're using push notification? Your device is usually behind a firewall so if you want to receive any packet you need to have an open session. And if you have this session that means your device has to send packets (even without data) every 30sec - This depends on firewall timeout settings, after what time session is closed if there's no traffic.
I'm not sure about my statement so please feel free and correct me!

A guy wrote on google's board. According to his observations email sync fails if your account counts more than 1k mails. If you've less messages in it, the sync works.
As I have over 1.5k mails stored on google I get no sync. It seems to be a bug within google's implementation.

Thanks to this I'm now using email in Manila. Is it possible to replace the Windows messaging with something more useful and finger friendly?

Whilst the telecoms provider may run a firewall, it shouldn't interfere with Push Email at all - its one of the main reasons they provide services for Blackberrys etc!
Like you though, I am confused on the deep tcp/ip->application layers work with push email. I can't get my head around the fact it doesn't drain the battery and isn't "permanently" exchanging data.
However it works (which is voodoo to me!), it works and works well - at least against MS Exchange 2007 and doesn't spank the battery. I have no experience with Gmail so I can't comment on that specificaly.

I have a problem with Push Gmail. Well problem, it's more an "very inconvenience"
I use Gmail and next to that I import 2 different POP-mail accounts. On desktop, it works fine. When a mail for "account A" arrives, I can reply on behalf of the "account A", but when using the HTC Touch HD (WM 6.5),
it isn't that easy. I installed my Gmail-account on my device, but when I
get an email which was sent to one of the 2 POP-accounts and I want to
reply on it...it's using the Gmail-account for outgoing email (and sometimes
I don't wan this). In short: I cannot choose the outgoing email-address on
my PPC. Is there a solution to this?? By any means (trick/prog/whatever).
The reason that I do not make 3 seperate accounts is that I cannot get mail
from these POP-accounts on my PPC because of non-trusted server, certificates, get all kinds off errors, so there for the workaround via Gmail.

Its "working" for me, as in I got it set up with m.google.com as the server and I get emails, but they seem to come through very randomly, and only will "push" through when I sync with the computer and do a send/receive. What else needs to be done to get it to push without polling?
thx

I think then you need to turn on MS Direct push, then they will be pushed, If you look in active sync on the phone now i dont think it will be connected. If you turn it on it will show it. You can find in comm manager, at least i can... also set the schedule (in AS to as items arrive)

i was under the impression that MS direct push was enabled automatically/on default? I dont see an option for it anywhere on my phone (at least not in the comm manager).

Well it wasnt for me when i set it up that's why i said it to you, maybe you can put it in through advanced config... see whether it works that way.

On my two HTC phones (Diamond and Touch), it's not pushing but polling every 15 minutes, while it's pushing beautifully on my iPod Touch!
Any idea why it does not work on HTC phones? Yes, I set it to sync when "Item arrives" and Direct Push is enabled.
On the same phones, MS Live push works no problem at all. Yes, I've tried to disable Live and many other things, but Gmail push simply refuse to work.

All is well now, push is always instant. Not sure which of the followings did the trick:
1) Google fixed the bugs.
2) I set my phone to sync 1 day instead of 3.
3) I flashed to another ROM that has MS Live removed.

The last 2 days it´s working really good. Got about 20-25 mails instantly. Before it didn´t work well. Not every day and sometimes only once a day.
I haven´t changed any thing so i think it was a Gmail problem that got fixed.

So far so good - push gmail has been working great (about seven seconds between send and sync completed). Syncing multiple folders seems to be very slow though.
It doesn't seem possible to assign two labels to a message, or fully delete a message, without using the web interface though. Anyone know otherwise?

not working for me. i had it working before i flashed a new rom. Now i get an error saying the server you are attempting to sync with is not an exchange server.
