Hi, i´m a noob chef :D
Really usefull info for me. Thank you for this. I have some issues to translate a WWE kitchen (Ervius) to Swedish. Are you gonna do a guide for this as well? Would be really nice if you did. I managed to sort all things out except the files in Barbas_kitchen\OEM\BlackStone\041D as i ported them from a wm 6.1 HD ROM. A guide for this would really help me out, and i´m sure it would help moore of us unexperienced cooks..
EDIT: Admin should sticky it when its more complete :)

I´m using runcc witch uses runcc.lua. Runcc.lua uses the txt files and so on (how i understand this, might be wrong :o).. What i would want to know is if i edit runcc.lua and edit ex config.txt with info from the others sutch as config_end.txt, config_operators.txt and so on, can i end up with just one txt file, and will it then do the customization faster as its less files to read?

will give u a very clear explaination in their tutorials soon.
but it wont make much difference to speed as runcc is already faster, but yes it'll kepp things much small n simpler if u use just one config file.

Hi
Does anyone knows how to set the today wallpaper while cooking?
I tried so set this key :
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today]
"Wall"="\Windows\black.jpg"
the picture is well present in \Windows\ folder.
but it does not apply black.jpg as wallpaper.
When I go to parameters -> Today, it appears to be set but it does not apply.
Any idea?

Any idea?In my Wizard when you set an image as today background, the file gets copied to be "\Windows\tdywater_240_320.jpg" and "\Windows\tdywater_320_240.jpg" and that is what is actually being viewed as the wallpaper.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today]
"Wall" is just the name of the file that was used.

Could you post a tutorial for changing radio settings in the kitchen? I've been trying for about a week to find out how to make it so that wifi isn't enabled by default in my ROM.
Your tutorials are great, I come to this page all the time. But I do it on my netbook and on your site the text I need to read gets covered by the communication sidebar. Even if you moved it to the other side it would be great, for now I've been disabling images on your site. Again thank you for these tutorials, they have been extremely helpful to me.
Edit: I figured out I could use adblock+ to get rid of the sidebar.

enabling of disbaling wifi is supposed to be registry entries. correct me if am wrong. but u can compare ur device reg, by enabling the wifi and another by disabling wifi. and check our the difference in then. apply that to ur kitchen?

if youtube is compatible for ur device and is being used by others. and if u face this issue then either use correct flashlite packages, or u can even use the default adobe flashlite present in the sys folder. youtube works with that aswell.

But if i recmod all, my files loads slower no ?
Slot0 as empty ? Even if i have a NON WM6.5 kernel ?
I have a hex converters, no matters, but i would like to know where calculate this from my memory map ?
Could you make an exemple please from my memory map ??
Thanks a lot

wat u want the tutorial exactly on??
Simple :
Directory("DESTINATION FOLDER"):-File("DESIRED FILENAME","FILE SOURCE")
Example :
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"):-File("Windows Media.lnk","\Windows\WMPlayer.lnk")
WMPlayer.lnk which is in \windows dir will be copied to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and renamed to Windows Media.lnk
To create a sub dir :
Directory("My Documents"):-Directory("Templates")
Creates Templates folder inside My Documents dir.
I hope this is what he/she wants. :)

I've been on the xda scene for a while now (not been posting as much though), but have played around with a lot of ROMs with particular interest for BsB (makeveral)'s incredibly quick diamond ROMs. Just recently (after makeveral announced that he was moving to Leo), I started cooking my own ROMs and seriously, the range of tips here even for a newbie is incredibly comprehensive and yet so simple.
Kudos guys!! Here's to a great year ahead and plenty of new devices to mod :)

Do you use Visual Kitchen? What i can remember you should have some options there, "from module to file" and "file to modules". Reverse recmod is implemented in the kitchen. Just use "file to module" and choose the .exe. No need to use the recmod tools in the guide in this case, cause its just one file you want to make into a module. If you use Visual Kitchen that is :)

And if you want them smaler.. hm.. I use a package in my kitchen so i get 4 icons i a row. Then the icons are smaler.

Hi Mr. Makk,
First of all, thank you very much for your tutorials.
I got problem when convert my rom from autorun to leo runcc.
Everything works fine, but the problem came if I change this reg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Welcome]
"Disable"=dword:00000080 (default) --> to dword:ffffffff
After boot, the screen becomes untouchable..
Someone told me to remove completely that reg key, it works fine as I used dword:00000080. But I want to get rid the alignment screen, etc. as the dword:ffffffff, it doesnt work.
I also tried as your tutorial:
"Disable"=dword:FD
"Disable"=dword:EF
got same problem too..untouchable screen..
So for now it just work with dword:00000080 or not that key anymore..
Please help
Thanks

Thanks Mr. Makk for your great tutorials!
I hope you can help with the following.
It's known that the 23529 build supports Arabic which is a left to right language so I know that it must also be possible to write in Hebrew which is left to right (using a 3rd party SIP of course like Fingerkeyboard). So far I couldn't get this working.
I cooked with the new ppckitchen using the 23529 files that were modified by the kithen staff (which is WWE). All I want is to be able to read and write in Hebrew while the os will be WWE. I and replaced the wince.nls file and still did not have Hebrew fonts or L2R support, so I installed a cab with Hebrew fonts but have not solved the L2R problem.
I know that others have had success by just replacing the wince.nls,so I assume my problems have to do with the files that were modified/removed by the ppckitchen staff. Which files do I need to solve these problems (Fonts and more important L2R)?

HTC Calculator 1.1.19224019.0
HTC FM-Radio 1.7.19181421.02
HTC YouTube 2.6.20111727.00
using WinCE Cab Manager 3.0.0.22
but only the Abobe one works.
All the others give the same message:
''The file '***.exe' cannot be opened.
Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate,
or one of its components cannot be found.
If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.''
At first i believed that i should install the *.cer files and i did.
It didn't work.
Then i used UnSigner.exe and BatchUnsign.exe to remove the certificates from the files.
It didn't work either.
Is there something else i should do?
If i include these packages in my kitchen will it work, or i'll have the same problems?
