HOW TO use a windows mobile device as a modem? (not internet sharing, just normal)

I want to use my phone to send faxes and dial landline or gsm numbers.

It is possible ... but windows does not seem to detect is as a modem. I remember is was possible... do i need to install a .cab or something.
