Hallo to community, I experimented with some tweaks for my Wizard and one give me unexpected Performance, so plase can somebody control is it same on other devices or not.


The key I added is HKEY_Local_Machine/System/StorageManager/Prefetch DWORD=6144

So plase give my a feedback

I have WM5 on my phone and think it myght by the size of page pool but are not realy sure.

Hi,

I'm running WM6.5, and there's no such value in my registry. Sorry. I was kinda hoping for a magic tune, 'coz WM6.5 is really slow on my wiza 200

You must create the key "Prefetch" (DWORD) with value of Your Page pool in Kb ( My is 6 Mb therefore 6144) in the HKLM/System/StorageManager/

To me it brought speed and no more crashes

After some expirementing with key finaly sticked out what this key is for!!!!

If in key HKL/... Storage Manager/Prefetch is the same value as in CasheSize for SDCard speeds my WIZARD to 20Mb/s!!! :D:D

As I sad on my Wizard is still WM5, never the less I think this is tweak that func. on WM6.1 or WM6.5 and is not only for Wizard, is OS Based.

If there is someone to Test it please and post it here for feedback.:)

The keys to add:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/StorageManager/"Prefetch"=dword:1800

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/StorageManager/Profiles/SDMemory/FATFS/"EnableCache"=dword:1

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/StorageManager/Profiles/SDMemory/FATFS/"CashSize"=dword:1800

Cash Size is set to 6mb, for me it was the best balance beetwen the performance and free memory. It can be also other value but Prefetch and Cashsize must be the same otherweise is speed increase poor or worse then before.
