Installing the ROM:

If your new to flashing PLEASE read this BEFORE you flash.

How to Flash - Internal Storage Method:
1) Download ROM from banner below.
2) Unzip to your PC.
3) Connect your Diamond to your PC in Disk Drive mode.
4) Navigate to your extracted ROM contents.
5) Copy DIAMIMG.nbh to your Internal Storage - Usually Removable Disk in Windows.
6) With your phone on. Pull out your stylus.
7) Hold your Touch Diamond upside down.
8) Press and Hold the VOLUME DOWN and BACK ARROW buttons, then press the RESET button (located under the stylus) with the stylus tip until HARDSPL appears.
9) Press the power button once the scree has loaded all the blue text to commence flashing.
10) Once completed flashing (IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED TO HARD RESET) please reset your Diamond once more as per step 8, instead this time hold the VOLUME DOWN and CENTER (enter) buttons then once prompted press VOLUME UP to commence the hard reset.
11) Once the hard reset is completed press VOLUME UP to boot your device.

PagePool Changer v2.21 is also attached to this post incase you're not happy with the 10MB pagepool

FM_Radio.cab is also attached to this post for anyone who wants the FM Radio. It seems it was more popular than I thought! - It'll install to the Multimedia folder in the Start Menu.

I've searched the EzInput 2.1 thread and it seems the easiest way to get languages is to install the cab over the top. I am going to include EzInput 2.1 v2.1 in the next release as the arrows work. You can find the .cab here in nikoan89's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=412335 - Give it a try and let me know if you can then add languages to the keyboard.

Bug List:


Dialer > Menu > Options menu item does not work. To access Phone Settings please do so via CommManager. Tap on the 'Phone' row. Not on the ON/OFF button. This will take you to phone settings.
Some windows may not be properly aligned due to the new taskbar size. You can use G-Config to find an application's 'Window Class' and add it to the registry here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase\SUITE_PositionFix_WinClasses - Add the Window Class here and end each entry with the ; symbol.
No SIP menu on EzInput 2.2 (keyboard) - Please change to alternate keyboards with the Registry Editor found in the Utilities folder. You'll need to edit value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\ezsip\CurrentSIP - 2560 is the phone pad. 3328 is the full QWERTY. 2816 is compact QWERTY.
Arrows button does not work on keyboard - EzInput bug, up to HTC to sort out! Might use 2.1 for 5.10 as it works fine there.
Disable Vibrate from Showcase (Vibrate on close program etc) - Registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\e-Natives Technology\Showcase\SUITE_VibrateTap & SUITE_VibrateHold - Set both dwords to 0.
Auto backlight issue.
WM6.5.x Lockscreen Issue - Please touch the clock at the base of the lockscreen before attempting to unlock.

Any radio version should work fine - I am personally using 1.15.25.14.

It's not configured for anything at this stage so you can set it to anything you'd like.

For version 5.10 I am going to try to map XDA shutdown to the power key.

Great Rom. I love the way you skinned it. but..
The g-alarm has a bug with the images inside the app, they look bad or misplaced. I installed the TF3D ( from the link on the main post ), and it worked the first time, but after that, didn't started anymore.
Also, how can I change the language of the ezInput? have you included any util to do it?

Other than that, this rom is a keeper ( will be more if those issues are addressed :D )

I tried installing an older version ( 1.4.5 ) and it works like a charm. But I don´t know which bugs where issued between those versions.

2: Yeah the camera has a habit of being a bit dodgey. I'll try another package for 5.10.
3: I'm still using the Tachi dialer - Which has no video call or landscape - until amarullz completes his port of the Rhodium one. I'll be including that once it is a bit more stable.

I'm still waiting for a proper SIP menu fix. I find using an old biotouch.dll as per the EzInput thread breaks other things in WM6.5.x

@chowdarygm: I haven't included any games as everyone likes different ones. However I included the Games folder because I do personally use it and thought others might. Since the folder is already there its easier to keep your start menu organized. Also please read my response to DonTomaso as above for the Phone options.

@pbouzaid: Unfortunately I won't be including any more tones etc. It winds up wasting too much storage space. I suggest searching here on XDA for the ring tones you're missing - Just copy them across to your \Windows\ folder.

Any radio is fine. It's not ROM dependent. I use 1.15.25.14.

See the screenshots for RAM on boot with Titanium running. Close Titanium and used RAM will drop below 50%.

One thing I can't seem to find is a quick way to access the Task Manager, or at least a quick way to move between/close multiple applications. Is there one I've just missed?

Hey chef, i am facing a serious issue here..

The phone options not being accessed is not letting me switch off 3g which is on by default and in turn is making my phone useless..

I am from india, and have a 2g diamond.. and hence my phone just shows red signal....

Please temme a way out..there has to be a registry tweak or somethng where i can just manually turn 3g option off..

Please some1 reply fast as wanna really use this rom..but will have to just flash someother rom as cant use phone at all..

m waiting for sometime..if some1 can answer fast..i wont have to flash agaiin...

Edit: Got it working finally... Got this program called Bandswitch and made it to gsm...plus the only thing working in the phone settings was the advanced settings which let me disable HSDPA...and a soft reset...So finally got it working...

Chef, please put the settings in your next rom..becomes a pain for 2g diamond owners...thanks...

Under Phone setting go to Band Setting. Under Network Type choose GSM instead of Auto. That will start the Phone in GSM mode and you should be able to use the phone.

It is not because of 3G. Go to Phone Settings can be reached from CommManager by clicking on the 'Phone' line - Not on the ON/OFF switch.
Under Phone setting go to Band Setting. Under Network Type choose GSM instead of Auto. That will start the Phone in GSM mode and you should be able to use the phone.

if your are talking about the comm manager under System folder and then going to phone settings...then after clicking on the band settings..it does nothing..i alrdy tried that b4 posting...

and again as i mentioned in the previous post.. i went to system/comm manager/menu/advanced network and turned off hsdpa... also the network selection page doesnt open after clicking..

and also the main comm manger under seetings/connections..is changed to some other manager if i am not mistaken...

So is there something i am missing shikra..btw i edited my post alrdy..i got it working with this bandswitch software...

i dont know wat made it work..disabling hsdpa or bandswitch..but its working now finally...

Chef, i came across one more bug..

In the power panel...When the auto adjust backlight is turned off... and if u change different levels..it doesnt change..you have to either soft reset your phone and then the desired level will come..or else you hav to go with the auto adjust..

this is also a problem as i normally keep it to minimum level inside buildings and then keep to auto outside...

So again just add this to your bug list...

This is a cracking ROM, fast,smooth and stable (camera apart). Couple of questions, no Youtube (gutted), can anybody point me in the direction of a working cab file, please? Also does anyone know how to tweak the registry so HTC Album is the default image viewer?

I'm liking it so far.

One thing I can't seem to find is a quick way to access the Task Manager, or at least a quick way to move between/close multiple applications. Is there one I've just missed?

Other than that, it seems good. Typing an SMS seemed to lag the phone quite a bit, with T9 at least.

Task Manager has been replaced with Showcase. Press and hold on the Start Menu button until the vibration is heard. This will bring up Showcase which is your Taskmanager.

To remove the Titanium skin please uninstall 'qTitanium_v4.7' from the 'Remove Programs' option in Settings > system.

EzInput bugs will be sorted as we get newer releases. It is slightly laggy but sadly the best keyboard I've tried thus far.

The CommManager houses this Function. Start > System > CommManager. Then touch the ON/OFF button on the right of the 3G row. That'll disable 3G.

Chef, i came across one more bug..

In the power panel...When the auto adjust backlight is turned off... and if u change different levels..it doesnt change..you have to either soft reset your phone and then the desired level will come..or else you hav to go with the auto adjust..

this is also a problem as i normally keep it to minimum level inside buildings and then keep to auto outside...

So again just add this to your bug list...

If you have WinCE Cab Manager installed you can edit the Shortcut option and change where it is installed.

If not I suggest just installing it to the default location and then using Total Commander to organize your shortcuts. You can move them about in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs etc... Inside Programs is Games, System, Utilities, Multimedia, Internet.

Sadly there isn't with the Tachi dialer (which is the one I have used) however if the Rhodium one is further along by the time a new build comes out I'll include that. It's just a bit too buggy at the moment. But it does include video call.

Check the first post for swapping the keyboards. You'll need to change it via Registry.

@EvilAsh: Unfortunately I can't replicate this error on my device. My softkey says Contacts when there is no Notification pending. I think it has something to do with the '1' in your taskbar too. I've never seen it before - Odd!

Maybe it could be carrier specific? Also try flashing with MTTY. If you need help check the 'Definitive MTTY thread' here in Diamond ROM development.

- why not include the HTC calibration tool ? (for the g-sensor)
- I used a workaround to change the SIP:
* installed "BJK_HTC_EzInput_VGA_NoKbd_0409-RC2"
* installed "SIPChange" thant allows me to set the default SIP
* installed "BJK_HTC_EzInput_VGA_LPack_IT-RC1" (T9 italian language)
- (as I hate WM default volume changer) is there any alternative ? something like stock ROMS one ? I tryed some cabs without results

... and a few problems:

Alternatively you can remove the value in this registry key using the Registry Editor: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\Start upWav

Gay? I designed that and quite like it. Splash screen stays. Although it may be replaced with another one at a later date.

That said you can easily change it via the registry:

ya i can...if you chat with more than 2 persons or if you open the messaging window when u get 3 messages or like that...when u tries to open the Messaging window for first time it will open the window and automatically closes...and if you open it again it was opening normally...and also it was getting closed in the middle of typing message.....not regularly but it was occurring rarely

Never had my Internal storage formatted by any ROM, never my own either. Very strange.

You can find HTC's wifi wizard in the CommManager. Tap on the Wifi line, not on the ON/OFF button.

Fisrt of all i would like to appreciate your fantastic work that you have created this Rom.
Believe me i have tried most of the 6.5 Rom's that are available and this one the best i have seen. Menu layouts and start menu icons are fantastic with cool graphics(Great work). i just have a small request if you could include this in the next version.
1) Bubble breaker game
2) when i press the power button i get only one option "shutdown"...i don't get options to "soft reset" or "screen off".
3) camera quality is poor.
4) You cannot clear storage...it does not opens up.

just discovered your rom and thought I'd give it a shot !
Actually it's nice ;)
(couple of weird things with the camera but... oh well, who takes a HTC to make nice pictures ?)

There're only two things that bothers me really :
- how do i diable small vibration on OK key ?
- how do you change Titanium Home icons back into text ?

and could you tell which rilphone.dll you've included... is it 1.14 ?

Still need to play along with it but i seems fast and quite stable so far

@All: 5.10 is already underway... I have prepared some bits for the kitchen...

You'll have to bear with me as my car was broken into last night and over $1,000 worth of stuff was taken so I need to sort that out...
