So in anticipation of the HTC Hero on Sprint I've been using Android 1.5 on my HTC Touch (CDMA Vogue). I had previously been using Windows Mobile 6.1 which I absolutely despised.
I noticed something very interesting today when I used it today during class. I have class in two lecture halls every day, and when I was using WinMo 6.1, I would get very spotty signal. The phone would constantly be searching for a signal and going in/out of signal area (and sometimes roam). Because of this, my battery would usually be dead by 1 or 2 in the afternoon.
Well today, using Android, I found myself getting a strong 2-3 out of 4 signal strength in both lecture halls (one is like 30 feet underground). So just out of curiosity, I have to ask: Can using a different operating system on the same device really affect signal strength that much? Why is this occurring?
