Hello friends,
has anyone of you loaded their Vogue with the SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 interface? I watched a YouTube video and it looks very nice but I'm wondering if it's a drag on performance and battery life. Will I have to soft-reset the phone frequently just like I had to with iFonz?

I use it all the time. works good , doesn't kill the battery and mem is good too. Resets are whenever you want, no real need other than loading new apps or every couple of days.

This is good to hear. I will download the trial(not sure about the restrictions) and play with it a little bit before spending 30 bucks. Right now I am content with NFSFAN's 6.5 v16 ROM default skins as everything is working fine without any lags or battery issues.

I was using mobile shell 3.5 with no issues on the stock rom. I switched to the free version of pointsense ui and found it to have much better integration with 3rd party apps. It also seems development is moving faster on pointsense than mobile shell. However i have recently flashed nfsfans v16 rom and had not wanted to go back to either one.

SPB Mobile shell ran much better on the Mogul Vs the Touch, for me, for some reason.

I've had my Sprint Vogue since 5/08. The only problems I've had with SPB Mobile Shell is an occasional compatibility issue some flashed roms. (Not all Roms are created equal.) If you are using the shipped Rom that came with your unit, you shouldn't have any problems. I recently stopped using Mobile Shell recently because I found SPB Pocket Plus to be easier to use and it allows me to access all my favorite programs from my Today Screen.

I use SPB mobile shell.. love it. I had just been used manilla on the NFSFan ROM then seen a screenshot of SPB mobile and had to have it. I haven't had a single problem with it, I love the lifestyle pages, I have 3 of them (main one, slide left and slide right) with everything I need, my programs, my main contacts, my media player, calendar.. I never have open my start menu or program menu unless it's a program I rarely use that's not on my lifestyle pages.
I didn't notice any restrictions with the trial version other than after so many days the trial runs out, kinda garbage.. by then your used to SPB and have your phone set-up just as you'd like it.. which made me go for the full version.
I haven't tried PointUI yet, I think I installed it once and checked it out for a few minutes and went back to SPB.. only because SPB was still new and fresh to me, I hadn't explored it completely and used all it's perks.. I'm sure soon I'll give PointUI a chance though just so I'll have tried it all and can leave what I liked best.
PS: My ONLY complaint is the contact list.. it does move unbelievable fluid and I can scroll through a large number relatively fast, however when I try to type a letter to jump me to that point it also includes the number.. when I hit a letter associated with the 6 key it highlights EVERY contact (my area code starts with 6) instead of jumping to the letter I was hoping it would.

I love the search feature but also see how it can get anyone that is why when I'm looking for a specific contact I type in the rarest combination to character ratio to find my contacts faster. for example if i had a booty call named "JEN" with the last name "KHULA" I would just punch in KHU to find my booty call faster or if I remember the last 4 digits of the phone number i might punch that in too.

for me it is the reason why i end up on this web site,
i had all kind of problem with my phone after installing spb shell 3.5 , alarm not ringing anymore, ( got to work late 2 days in the same week  )
on top of that the battery life as decrease to a speed i could not imagine,
i use to be able to complete my day at work with out the need of charging my phone, email sync as soon as they come, listening music 3h per day in the subway on my way to work ,
with sbp shell install, my battery was dead on my way back home before i even get inside the subway ,
after removing it it was even worse , freezing none stop , could not get my phone to work correctly , until i reinstall my 6.1 Rom ,
so if someone know how to fix that ... i'm interested to give it another try
thank
