I use iGO8 on my TyTN2 and it's working very well. Better than Tomtom 6.
Maps are easy available (good for new versions) and you put the country you need. Not the full Europe if you use just 2-3 countries. You will need to put a skin sothat the interface is better than the standard mode. Mine is iGo8 version 8.3.2.64029 with skin iGo 8.3 Choup 6.4a EUR+.

Google Maps for mobile is free as long as you have preloaded the area you want on the device for offline browsing. Just visit m.google.co.uk/maps on your mobile and download the 1mb cab file. But I find Tomtom 7 is the best, although that one isn't free.

TomTom as stopped in time... take a look, from version 5.x to 7.x... nothing new... no changes... or at least, very few.

Now... iGo is very interesting, its actually kind of nice, although a little heavy. My kaiser struggles a little with 3D terrain, 3D buildings, and max detail... my omnia just rulles in this department.

Now, i've come across with a program, N-Drive... portuguese i think, but trying to go abroad. The interesting part, is that tey use Vincent3D dll files to render 3D, and perhaps one could make it use the internal kaiser (or others) hardware to render with full glory.

Search on google for navicomputer or in the forum search
it's free you just have to preload map via his software ( actually it convert google map into navi software)
it have good function track etc....
ok la it's not a tomtom tell you where you have to go but it you only need to see where you are is the soft you need
